sadie / sadie sue the orange tabby

sweetness and citrus honey if it were to take the form of a feline lady. sadie (or sadie sue) is — as i’ve mentioned before — my ‘bangāru thalli’ which directly translates to golden child (femme pronouns). i found her between the violets and daisies of my mum’s flower garden. i convinced my parents to keep her and she became the closest thing i have to a sister. she loves following me around, and laying on me, and pretending to love my mother more than me ..

my dad bought barney after james got his hogwarts letter, so technically i share this prickle footed darling with my brother . which is fine.. it is. anyway, my dad also named him barnaby bcs . barn owl. which he thought was very clever. barnaby loves landing on my head, sharp talons and all .. so that’s always amusing, and he likes sneaking nibbles of our toast in the morning whether it’s at home or at the gryffindor table

me and my members received rewards for our first win from our company. each member asked for something different and me? i asked for a dog. and yes, i named him after cauliflower . he’s a curious comet of energy, always fascinated by mundane things, truly a child seeing the world for the first time. i know technically i got him and named him and wtv, but honestly speaking, he’s the group’s dog, the girls and i all raised him together, we trained him together, he’s our collective child and the goodest boy

a menace. period. idk where he gets off on being this maniacal but he’s good at it, truly the king of the dorm. technically he’s my cat, and considering the absolute shenanigans he gets into? my members don’t wanna claim ownership of that .. i found him as a kitten, lost and alone, during the mv shoot of my solo debut. immediately knew i had to keep him. and i guess he remembers, bcs out of all the people he’s interacted with, i’m his favourite (yes, that is a brag) tho.. i wish he liked jungwon more T^T

he kinda just showed up? out of nowhere? welcomed himself into the apartment and roamed around rubbing his scent everywhere. he truly took one look at me and barry and was like “yep, you’re adopting me. scratch that, i’m adopting you. now feed me” and we stan. creepily calm for a cat who’s seen the streets, really friendly too like . damn. you’d think barry and i are his favourite but the next thing you know he’s cuddling with cisco or purring on harry’s lap or sitting next to caitlin while she checks her reports. so in that way he’s team flash’s cat, free reign of star labs. barry and i just house him i guess -_-

⟳ 05. GOODNIGHT

You flinch slightly in surprise at the loud ringtone appearing on your phone. You nervously bite your lip, contemplating whether or not you should accept the call. You let out a heavy sigh and press answer.

The screen lights up, and Kuni’s face appears, dimly lit by the glow of his own screen. He’s lying back against his pillows, one arm tucked behind his head, eyes heavy-lidded with exhaustion but still sharp as ever. You, on the other hand, are sitting at your desk, laptop and notes open in front of you, a pen lazily twirling between your fingers.

"Hey," you say, your voice quieter than usual.

“Hey." His voice is just as steady as always, but there’s something softer about it tonight.

“Why’d you wanna call?” you ask.

You hear his steady breaths close to the microphone, taking a few moments before answering. “Dunno. You aren’t here and I didn’t have anything else to do.”

He’s just doing this to pass time. This isn’t because he wants to spend time with you.

You repeat these thoughts in your head.

“Don’t you plan to study?”

“Already did this morning. I don’t pull all-nighters like you losers,” he jests, huffing a quiet laugh. You snort back, shaking your head fondly.

Comfortable silence fills the call. You pretend to be busy, looking at your notes and clicking on the mouse, as to distract yourself from admiring his annoyingly handsome face. From the corner of your eye, you can see him just staring at you, not uttering a word.

"Thanks for the food and coffee earlier, by the way,” you break the silence, shifting slightly in your chair.

“No problem.”

“You didn’t have to do that, you know.”

Kuni exhales through his nose, a barely-there laugh. "I know. I wanted to."

You pause. You didn’t expect that. There’s something about the way he says it—too easy, too casual, like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Like he didn’t even have to think twice.

And just as quickly as the thought creeps in, you shut it down. You move on, refusing to let hope take root where it doesn’t belong.

He probably just said that to keep me wrapped around his finger.

"You sure you want to stay on facetime? I still have a few more things to go over," you mumble, rubbing your eyes.

"Yeah. I doubt you’re gonna stay up that late, anyway. You look like you’re gonna bang your head on that table pretty soon," he teased.

"Shut up, I’ll be fine," you insist, but the weight in your eyelids betrays you.

"What are you even studying?"

"My thesis."

"Sucks," he says flatly.

"Tell me about it." You sigh, flipping a page in your notes, even though you haven’t absorbed a single word from it.

The call settles into a quiet rhythm as you continue studying, exchanging a few words and banters with him here and there, but mostly occupied by silence. His voice a low hum in the background, the occasional tap of his fingers against his phone mic. You don’t even realize you’re slouching further into your chair, letting the sound of his voice fill the spaces where your thoughts should be.

“You still there?" he asks after a while.

“Mhm." It’s a half-hearted sound, barely coherent.

He huffs. “Your eyes are drooping, idiot."

"They’re not," you mumble, eyes slipping shut.

"Yeah? What was the last thing I said?"

You try to think, but your mind is already drifting. Kuni says something else, something teasing, but you don’t catch it. The last thing you remember is the faintest sound of his chuckle, low and quiet through the speaker, right before the world fades out.

Unbeknownst to you, somewhere in the haze of your sleep, a hushed voice murmurs softly in the dimly lit room.

"Goodnight, pretty."

It's so frustrating. And it's even more frustrating when it's people who supposedly want what we're all saying it looks like is happening just doom shouting into different inboxes and then when we do try to explain it, for the thousandth time, they come back and reargue the same point we just explained away. No television show is going to have their actor break the fourth wall and say "okay so my character just said that but what he really meant was this". That will never happen. I don't understand what they think they're watching. the show has really not made it complicated to follow at all. It's pretty in your face.

EXACTLY!! The show is very obvious. When they want us to care about something they make it clear. When they need us to feel a certain way they make it clear. You have no idea how many "oh I wanna believe your analysis but I've been burned by *insert queer ship was objectively more fanom than canon and people lost sight of the show it belongs too* so I need to believe *worst outcome possible*" I get. I'm sorry, but how do you live like this? You think I was right about the breakup green because of luck or something? And like, this fandom is allergic to letting a storyline develop. If everything isn't solved as quickly as possible, they don't want it. "If they don't kiss on 810 then it's not happening" is the new "if Eddie doesn't come out on 806 then it's not happening" and dear god, just watch the show? I don't know if this is a product of being newer fans who binged the show after s7 and don't know how to handle a season happening week by week or if this is because people got used to made to binge 9 hours movies split into 9 episodes streaming shows, but people need things to be fully spelled out by episode 2 or else the world is ending. Jesus.

Yes, I know I'm saying this as someone who wants buddie to go canon this season and have been very loud about it, but I don't want to gamble on a season we're not even sure we are gonna get when they already pulled the trigger on Buck's feeling realization and it would be odd to let this drag out for the next at least 13 episodes for no reason other than to drag it out when that means making it happen at the earliest in October because for some reason people seemed to have decided the clock restarted when Buck came out and that's not how it works. Like, every procedural slowburn has the "external force keeping them apart" phase and that's the "believing they are straight" thing they have, there's no reason to delay that more once they are out.

Y/N had waddled into the living room one morning, drowning in one of Chris’s sweatshirts, the sleeves dragging on the floor as she clutched her sippy cup. Chris had laughed, scooping her up and calling her his “mini-me.”

Then, the next day, she showed up in one of Nick’s hoodies.

Then Matt’s.

And before the triplets knew it, their four-year-old little sister was refusing to wear anything except their sweatshirts.

At first, they let it slide. It was adorable watching her stomp around in their oversized hoodies, the sleeves covering her hands like little mittens. But then, one morning, their mom tried to dress her in actual clothes, and all hell broke loose.

“Y/N, baby, you have a whole closet of cute outfits,” she said, holding up a little pink sweater. “How about this one?”

Y/N shook her head aggressively. “No! Matty’s hoodie!”

Matt, sitting at the kitchen table, raised an eyebrow. “You wanna wear my hoodie?”

Y/N nodded, crossing her arms stubbornly.

Chris smirked. “Kinda sounds like you have no choice, bro.”

Their mom sighed, rubbing her temples. “She can’t live in your sweatshirts forever, guys. Talk to her.”

Intervention Time

The triplets found Y/N sitting on the couch, drowning in Nick’s blue hoodie, watching Bluey like she had no worries in the world.

Matt sat beside her. “Bug, why don’t you wanna wear your own clothes?”

Y/N barely looked at him. “I like yours better.”

Chris plopped down on the other side. “But why, though?”

Y/N turned to him like the answer was obvious. “They smell like you.”

Nick melted on the spot. “Aw, dude—”

Matt shot him a look. “Don’t encourage this.”

Chris grinned. “You just love us so much, huh?”

Y/N nodded. “Yep.”

Matt sighed. “That’s cute and all, but you need to wear your own clothes, okay?”

Y/N immediately frowned. “No.”

“Y/N—”

Before Matt could finish, she burst into tears.

Like, full-on meltdown.

“NOOOO!” Y/N wailed, flopping onto the couch dramatically. “I WANT NICKY’S HOODIE!”

Nick held back a laugh. “Damn, bro, she really said ‘ride or die.’”

Chris was dying. “She’s literally acting like you just took away her whole world.”

Matt groaned. “Dude, this is so not funny.”

But the thing was—it was funny. Y/N was rolling around, clutching Nick’s hoodie like it was the most precious thing she owned, tears streaming down her chubby cheeks.

“I NEED IT!” she sobbed.

Nick sighed, looking at the others. “…What if we just let her keep one?”

Chris nodded. “Yeah, like, compromise. She gets one triplet hoodie.”

Matt exhaled. “Fine. But only one.”

Nick turned to Y/N, who was still sniffling. “Okay, Bug, you can keep one hoodie.”

Y/N immediately stopped crying.

Like, immediately.

She wiped her face and blinked up at them. “Really?”

Chris smirked. “Yep. But only one. Which one do you want?”

Y/N looked between them, then down at the hoodie she was already wearing. She grabbed the sleeve of Nick’s hoodie and pulled it close.

“Nicky’s.”

Nick beamed. “Hell yeah, Bug.”

Chris rolled his eyes. “Favoritism, man.”

Matt sighed. “At least we got her to wear something normal under it.”

And just like that, Y/N won.

Because the truth was, she was never just gonna wear one.

By the end of the week, she had successfully stolen one hoodie from each brother.

And they let her.

Because, really—how could they say no to her?

"Hey," he replies, his shoulders almost shaking from suppressed mirth, "my eyes are up here." Turning the tables, because he can only imagine the number of times she’s said the same, albeit seriously. Minus the bashfulness, however, Aiden would never actually complain about Anna’s ogling. What gives him pause now is more of their surroundings. The murmur of the crowd, that’s gotten just a little bit louder. “I’m gonna stop.” Fuel for him to put the slightest, barely-noticeable distance between them, “—‘Cause I will start a commotion if you let me keep me going about, you know—” his gaze slides down her smooth curves before returning back up, “—you being down under.”

But it’s definitely a high-issue topic to revisit later. It always is.

For the moment, he refocuses on her curiosity, and it seems like he’s back to his usual self, questioning the world and its dramatic oddities with the faintest quirk in his brow. “About Chelsea, but you know something— I think that dude’s usually got a thing for animals? He did that one movie last year, about a scientist who made friends with an octopus while studying a kelp forest?” He’s suddenly serious when he adds, “—Before that, I think it was about endangered birds.” The history’s pretty interesting. Animals are cool. He just can’t understand the connection between staunch environmentalism and… Sports. Whether it’s the reality of football attracting a more vocal, more viral crowd, or just another example of how people can have a strange mix of interests, he shakes his head. “Hope he’s not saying Chelsea’s going extinct or something.”

Whatever the reasoning for the offer the, he doesn’t truly care what that guy thinks; Aiden’s not about to let some folks with deep pockets make a circus out of his guys. They’re fools, but his fools. Leave it to him to embarrass them. So maybe it’s a little funny, a little odd, a little out of place when he answers,

“I don’t have any friends.” Plain and simple. Aiden knows people — gets paid a hefty sum to know them like the back of his hand — and yet nobody really knows him. It takes about ten seconds for him to think, ‘Well, shit,’ because he doesn’t want this to turn into a pity party. “—Or, like— I’m not like that.” Obviously. “I don’t really have anyone specific I go reaching out to for company.” Background mentality. If they want him there, they’ll ask, and he’ll see if his brain is ready to deal with all of the extra noise. There’s nothing in his posture, his expression, or in his words that indicates even the slightest bit of dissatisfaction.

There’s no sort of judgment or excessive pushiness coming out of Anna, either, yet there’s something… Aiden can’t really describe it. Anna Ricci (the person) magic. The weird stuff that’s got him adding to his ‘a game’ playlist, its energetic name masking the collection R&B jams and other cheesy shit he’s picked out because the vibes remind him of her. “I prefer watching games alone.” His brain’s usually loud enough to fill up the gaps then. “—But I’ll tell you what. Next time I get the invite,” to some gallery opening courtesy of some artistic acquaintance, or even just a lowkey dig hosted by a friendly face, “I’ll take you along.” No questions asked (other than confirming her interest), no hesitations. Even when he tilts his head and asks, “Or is that your way of saying you wanna host at our place?”

Whichever one she’d pick, for she’s built her fair share of new furnishings and filled out the spaces well enough to really make them both homes. Soft warmth courses through his veins at the mere thought, along with the never-ending urge to remind her, “I wanna make it completely clear, though: you’re my MVP.” His first choice for a single call— the only one outside of work he regularly calls, and he’s more than content with that. And just like that, he’s even closer to her, with his hand squeezing back. “I’m not subbing you any time soon.”

"Tony fights anyone who gets between him and the season finale of Love is Blind." Sure, he did it for Anna, for her ever-abundance of loyalty for Aiden. But there's also the reality that Tony's now at Vauxhall, downing shots everytime someone says they're on the island for the "right reasons." Two things can be true. "I didn't start a commotion." Anna lowers her head, like a little girl caught red-handed. No, Aiden's not telling her off. He's echoing her commitment, but still reminding her - there's some things one ought not to do. Getting arrested, or causing a commotion, for one. "And if I did..." By sprinting down the airport, throwing a hundred quid at a kid whose drink she knocked over, and then pouting at an officer...

"I know you'd be there to bail me out." Because Anna may have acted the fairy godmother of the evening. But in every other sense, it's Aiden who sweeps in to save her. Or better yet, show her the way out. The proof is in every new thing she learns to do with him. This is just one of many ways she gives it back, coming closer to brush the nice fabric of his suit. "Or use the nail file on your Swiss army knife and get us both free." Heroes or bandits? The jury's out. Regardless, it's clear now; they only look the part of posh and proper.

Because when Aiden leans in, smelling heavenly and with that look in his eye. With the sort of joke that makes her laugh second, because first, her eyes drop down to the area between his legs. "Fuck me." Anna whispers, eyes wide and brightly scandalized. "And here I thought I just got outta down under." Now, however, her mind's firmly down there...

Which makes her take a half-second longer to register Aiden's answer. "Like, about snow leopards? Or about you and Chelsea?" Documentaries go either way. "I can see that. Like, catching up with Chelsea?" Really, she does it just to tease. Because Aiden can do anything... Except be on a reality TV show.

"Glad you didn't sub in another plus one." Her hand finds his, giving it a small squeeze. "Like Bailey. Or --" Come to think of it, Anna tilts her head; "I should meet some of your friends." Because in the storm of Anna's extroversion, it's assumed she would have met anyone of importance. Yet that's her, not him, and even some need a push.

"You know, friends to watch the game with--" Like Aiden doesn't do that everyday. "Keep you company when I'm away." He's more than capable of taking care of himself. The better one of the pair of them, candidly. And yet, a part of her worries about the long nights spent apart, the dinners eaten alone. "I wanna meet them." Or find them, she thinks. Though, unlikely to find them here.

I've decided to just write this entire bubbamiah fic in my notebook and honestly it's so much fun to write on paper. I've said this before but I genuinely recommend you try this out if you're a writer, even if it's just for a bit. It makes you think about your word choices more because it's so much harder to edit a mistake when it's on paper.

IAN MALCOLM IS CONFIRMED TO BE RETURNING IN JURASSIC WORLD 4

to be honest i feel a little relieved, but god i hope it's not for a short little cameo like in fallen kingdom. i hope he has more of a role. especially with how he's going to take biosyn down, with the ending of dominion (and what's happening in chaos theory) there's so many possibilities of what could happen, so the plot of "some teens and adults get stuck on an island with dinosaurs" is just..... ehhhhhhhhhh???? why??? why do we need a whole new cast? and another movie about people stuck on an island? i'm so attached to everyone, and i'm gonna be so pissed if they never come back. i think the plot is extremely vague on purpose, there has to be more to it.

listen, i might be extremely hopeful, it might be unlikely... but maybe... maybe the side plot will be about ian. i could see him trying to discreetly help the new gang somehow, without getting his hands too dirty. he's sneaky like that. with how vague the plot is, we have no idea why or how they even got on a new island with dinosaurs, or if it might be isla sorna, we don't know what company is behind it, could even be an entirely new one. maybe one of the new cast members is a journalist secretly helping ian.

yes it's almost 5 am and i'm kinda stoned but i just read a brand new article confirming his return and i need to talk about it or i'm going to explode. ALSO, sadly there are still no official teasers yet. hopefully we'll get one by the end of the summer or maybe in the fall, considering the release date is just next year.

honestly i have absolutely no idea what to expect with the upcoming movie and it's worrying given how secretive the production has been, and how soon the release date is. there's still no official teasers and we don't even know the title yet. i really hope this isn't going to be a letdown, because dominion is honestly my favorite jurassic world so far and i don't want them to throw all of that away.
