There must be people who experience specific instinct things with indifference or boredom.

Procreative cycle coming up? "Crap, I've got plans this weekend...stupid skip weeks."

Caught an intriguing scent while walking? "But I need to get to work! Shut up brain."

Had a snap response to a distressed sound? "Who was it?! ...right, it's my day off, I can go back to sleep."

Somebody growled at them? "Kid, I'm not a rival, that's my sibling."

Super cozy cuddle session happening nearby? "I'm gonna pass tonight guys, no social battery left, maybe next time."

Group of friends heading out to flirt and check out other singles? "I'm coming with you but only to make sure you all get home safe."

Setting where fated mates or soul bonds or permanent marks are a thing? "Meh. I don't really want one or care if I ever get one."

People in the actual omegaverse would get as bored of their stuff, as we do of ours, you know? It could be interesting to see that kind of vibe in fics. Biological demands faced with all the excitement of paying bills or doing laundry or tying your shoes.

Even if that kind of energy might not drive a plot, it could be interesting to have as a contrast to the people who do have big feelings about them - good or bad.

There's the friends who can't wait til they have a pack of their own, and the one friend who isn't against it but couldn't care less. There's the group in the office who are all about scent compatibility tests and figuring out one's best match and what sprays most highlight it, and the coworker who has no intentions on putting that much effort in. There are parents who hover and protect their offspring by scenting them multiple times a day, and others who don't see what the fuss is as long as it's done in the morning.

...also: packs with introverts who show care by giving each other space. So often, closeness is depicted through physical touch and tactile affection, but comfortable silence is meaningful too. Knowing people are near, but not having to interact until you're ready. Sitting in the same room doing different things, knowing that all it takes is a "hey, look at this" to share what you're up to. People understanding and accepting each other's differing or fluctuating needs for how and when to recharge. Seeing somebody reaching out or sharing space, beyond what's their norm, as a signal of the fact that they care.

The best thing about Italy and Europe is that linen just- exists here. I can go buy a shitty cheap 100% linen dress like I would go to Fry's and buy a shitty cheap 100% polyester dress in America. Absolutely revolutionary for my wardrobe. I can't actually buy wardrobe enhancements because I have a carry-on suitcase, but the fact I still have the option is amazing.

All I know about the new descendants movie is osmosis from tumblr and combining that with the media I think of when someone says Alice in Wonderland is making for tbh the movie in my brain is probs very different than what I've heard the new one is like.

And that media is the Royal Ballet's Alice in Wonderland. Its a lovely comic ballet, and my favourite dances are The Mad Hatter's Tea Party (tap! in a ballet! also in this clip played by Steven McRae, who i want to know more about and watch more of his stuff as i have heard good things about from other dancers I know), and the Tart Adage, which is frickin hilarious. (also the way that the King of Hearts just droops around in the background and its like yup. thats Red's dad apparently.)

So uh everyone should watch these clips simply because they're amazing and I love them.

We had a very good day today. \o/

We had our first surface trip! Had to be careful because it was a 50/50 night but nothing bad happened at all (except maybe the loot from the drops >.<) and we got home safe.

And on the way home we found a 125 yi ling! I sat and watched him while Kel ran home for supplies, taming process was eventful but not that bad, and we got him! Kel was the bait and she says I can handle the next one. XD

He is gorgeous. Haven't played with him much because we want him to level first but it'll be fun to try him out. And I love that purple, I hope any babies we get from him get it too.

We got 3 usable eggs from the rock drakes, so we hatched them after that and got them imprinted, then while waiting for them to finish growing we went down to the blue. We nabbed two more beetles for oil production, found a 150 shinehorn, and got our male megalosaur plus a bonus 145 female and her baby. The new girl has almost all our high stats, she is amazing and I absolutely LOVE how she looks. Holy cow.

And Kel found a white ravager puppy she couldn't leave behind, plus we got a pair of baryonix to make trilobite farming easier. They're both girls but we don't really want to breed them anyway so it's fine. I've claimed the dark one. XD

I dont think at this point i can even start on classic literature if i tried, like, i have absolutely zero patience for stories that take their goddamn time "building up" to things. "give exposition talk and show your characters doing everyday things" girl only if the everyday things contribute to the theme of the story! I dont have an ounce of interest in traditional idle starting points, "this story takes awhile to warm up and nothing happens for 45 pages" lmao bye

F the east coast I'm leaving. The two sous chefs screamed in my face last night when all I needed was one more pin to drop. Might stay with my best friend in Boston tomorrow night if his Not Girlfriend (anymore) roommate approves, might head to Iowa and give my ex a ride back to MT from dealing with his mom's estate sale.

Might fuck right off into the Pacific, who knows! But I'm not staying here.
