So yesterday was the best day! My boyfriend drove me to Chicago so I could go to Durand Bernarr’s rollin’ with the homies skate experience!

I did something I usually never do which is go alone and I skated (they had rollerblades there as well as quads!) talked and laughed with some people (instead of sitting alone in a corner somewhere) and I met, and took pictures with Durand Bernarr himself!

I was so nervous! Instead of saying what I wanted which was I appreciate him and his authenticity and how he makes me feel seen, I ended up saying sorry I almost bumped into you a couple of times in the rink! 😅

His response was “Aw don’t worry about that! You know me I was making my way downtown skating fast faces past and I’m homebound!” Which made me bust out laughing and gave me the courage to ask if he could sign my fan and he did!

After, I and some other fans gushed about meeting him and talked about what he said or did when we met him. Everyone had a positive experience and stated they would come again if he did this in the future and so would I!

So I had a 10/10 experience and I am so glad I didn’t talk myself out of going because I didn’t have no one to go with me! Now here are some pics from the event!

can i say something. i think unironically one of the reasons straight women are having such a bad time with men a lot of the time is that so many of them think it’s a red flag for them to be friends with other women. first of all it’s such a weird reductive thing to be like men and women can’t be friends. huh? what? i have guy friends! i always have! are they never supposed to find partners because of me? insane thought imo. and second of all to be honest why do you want to date someone who is only capable of seeing an entire fucking gender as sex objects? i would rather date someone who is friends with women, even if i KNOW he’s attracted to them on some level, because i know that a guy who’s capable of being genuinely friendly with girls will probably be more likely to respect me and treat me like a person. idk. maybe it’s the bisexual in me talking so it feels weird to exclude an entire gender from friendship based on your attraction to them. but just saying. there’s large groups of girls out there ignoring great guys because they’re the type who could be invited to a girls night??? could never be me
