a lack of control over my mind and body. I was no longer taking care of myself (forgetting to eat, sleep, wash) because that part of my brain was being used by the entity. sometimes I'd be fully present in my mind but aware of my body being used like a puppet but sometimes my actions felt fully my own in the moment and only afterwards did I realise how completely unlike myself I was acting.

I guess the main thing is that the possessing entity doesn't care about you no matter what it tells you. it will use you up while pursuing whatever its goal may be and if your body fails in the process it will simply abandon you and move on.

it's really hard to ask for help when your mind isn't fully your own but you can get out of it. do you have people who can help?

Out of all of the people The Ghost King Phantom expected to relate to, it definitely wasn’t the scrawny red headed photographer of the Daily Planet. Jimmy Olsen has gotten so many temporary superpowers over his time being Superman’s friend. Hell, he once gained a 4th dimensional being’s reality warping abilities when he was given said dimensional being’s powers during a fight. Sure there’s a dozen or so heroes with the same amount of powers he has, but none as suddenly granted to them as a all powerful god that can relate to a teenager.

What I’ve been thinking a lot about lately is the idea that…even in times of turmoil and uncertainty and fear, the people you’re connected to, and the community you build, and the people who are out there always trying to make things a little better, a little warmer, a little safer, the people who are fighting for and striving for security and joy and levity and agency and all the things that can make our lives richer and happier…those things don’t just vanish overnight. That even when it feels like the world is shaking apart, those people are still there. And that bit of hope, on the most micro of scales, of who you’re connecting to and finding happiness and safety with, and who you’re helping is…such a more productive driver than despair. Even though there are so many reasons to despair. But the people who are always pushing for a better life for everyone, your people, you yourself in being that person for someone, are still there. And I think that’s what matters.
