do yall ever think about bruce/batman!clone danny standing in front of his bathroom mirror after finding out he was a clone and silently tracing his face. The slope of his jaw and point of his chin. The high angle of his cheekbones and the shape of his eyes, the curve of his brow bones and the shape of his nose. The volume of his hair and the way it curls and gets fluffy when it gets too long.
His hair is black the same way a crow's wing is black. His dad's hair is black the same way a black bear's fur is black. His dad's eyes are blue like the ocean is blue. Danny's eyes are blue the same way a glacier is blue.
His dad has a square jaw and straight flat hair, and he tans and gets a face full of freckles when he's out in the sun for too long. Danny burns like a lobster and his face remains untouched. Danny has a sharp jaw and tall cheekbones, and Sam says when he's not smiling there's almost something regal about him. You would never call Jack Fenton "regal" when he's not smiling.
Sam says when he's not smiling he looks scary the same way a stone statue is. Jack Fenton when he's not smiling looks scary the same way that german shepherd staring at you across the street is.
Do you ever think he grew up wondering if he was adopted. Because of course, he has black hair and blue eyes like his dad. But having the same color doesn't make you someone's child.
Or, worse, things he's heard from the other kids and the other parents and even some of his teachers growing up; that he was the product of an affair. And that his dad was just too stupid to notice. And Danny would defend his parents until the day he died, because Jack Fenton wasn't an idiot and Maddie Fenton wasn't a cheater.
But doubt comes in with fickle tongue. his parents swear up and down that he is their child when he asks about either. That Danny just had his grandparents' features, but he was their son and they loved him.
But Danny doesn't look like either of his parents. His mom's eyes are blue like an aquamarine and Jazz's too. And they burn like lobsters in the sun too, but Jazz gets freckles on her face and so does Maddie. And as Danny grows up he doesn't bulk up or get stocky like his dad did, and when he hits puberty he doesn't shoot up like a tree like Jack Fenton did.
He stays small, and they say he's a late bloomer (and he is), or that he just has his mom's height. But he's fast and has good stamina, and some days it feels like he's built entirely different from his family. That the things they went through growing up just didn't apply to him. Jack and Maddie Fenton both had acne and breakouts when they hit puberty, and Jazz inherits it and he's seen the amount of skincare products she keeps on her side of the bathroom.
And then he hits puberty and breaks out maybe once or twice, but his skin stays clear for the most part and the problems and changes his dad went through just don't happen to him.
And the truth is worse than all of the lies.
How horrifying.
#dpxdc#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#danny fenton is a clone#clone danny fenton#clone danny#thinking about the inherent trauma that comes with growing up as a clone and not knowing and questioning everything about yourself#thinking about the amount of effort and lying that Jack and Maddie would've had to to do if they wanted to pass Danny off as their bio son#the MEDICAL RECORDS#danny's medical history is completely different from theirs. any generational health problems the waynes have would/could be passed down to#danny and he's completely oblivious to it up until the reveal. he'd have no idea about any medical risks until they hit him before that.#so many little things and inconsistencies that would just build and build and build until it finally came to a head and the truth came out#forever and ever and ever fascinated by the underlying horror of being a clone. there's a horror in being cloned but there's also a horror#in BEING a clone. like yes he could've always known from the start and that comes with its own set of issues BUT. just. him not knowing#for the longest time. the lies and deceit and betrayal. you know how adopted kids come out and talk about how they didn't know they were#adopted for the longest time and how traumatizing and betrayed they felt when they're finally told 15-20 years down the line? yeah that#i imagine finding out you're a clone is a lot like that.#i read a book in middle school once abt a girl moving to a new town with her family and getting these horrible nightmares and noticing how#everyone was acting strange around her. one of her nightmares was about the 30yo police officer being a shambling corpse talking to her#and at the end of the book she finds out she's actually the clone of a dead older sister and the police officer was her sister's boyfriend.#and she was in gymnastics but quit and her parents were so disappointed bc the og sister was a champion/award winning gymnastics player#and i never did finish the book but god am i reminded of that.#i love reading the dpxdc clone danny posts and they usually have him brush off being a clone which is literally totally fine but duUUDE#just imagine his own horror over it. its SOOO good

(typing this as I walk to work so this is not articulate but) thinking a lot abt how les mis w javert sort of. hm. questions? problematizes? the Idea of dogs & the domestication of dogs (metaphorically ofc) like it sort of looks past the 'man's best friend' angle entirely & makes you think things like. kind of fucked up of humans [the social order] to domesticate the wolf [person outside of society for whatever reason] expressly to turn against & cause harm to other wolves in order to keep them out [away from respectable society] & keep themselves safe but never truly consider it an equal [it'll always just be a dog]. kind of fucked up that the dog finds enjoyment & life's purpose in this
#this is NOT to absolve him of responsibility tbc like He Did All That. but it's just soo#idk i think like i said the dog metaphors are way more interesting than in a lot of other stuff bc a lot of stuff is simply unwilling to#question the fundamental idea of a dog if that makes sense. they want it to be a fundamental good thing that can be perverted#but idk 'dogs are good. people and dogs are meant to be together. in a good way' gets conceptually boring really quick#<- to be clear this is not about dogs in real life. i very much like dogs in real life. just abt literary dog metaphors & motifs#thoughts#les mis#i will say though the metaphor in the book is varied & situational so you can't develop a single framework from it this is just one aspect#anyways where's that comic about wolves seeing a dog & thinking 'what a scary fucked up creature'. javert to me sort of

i know that disney is too big to boycott effectively but that shouldn't translate to "and so we should keep buying their products like normal" but rather "at the very least we should try"
#i know they have their fingers in a lot of pies but#i've just been thinking#bc i don't watch star wars or sports or marvel and i don't rlly watch tv/cable anymore#and i haven't bought a disney product or gone to the theme parks#and as far as i know disney doesn't facilitate a necessity that can't be circumvented#and at the VERY‚ very least‚ we're supposed to pressure them#the way i personally interpret that is 'avoid directly supporting them as much as you can'#bc i'm aware that you could accidently support them by proxy by buying something they've invested in#which is why we're supposed to PRESSURE rather than BOYCOTT#but i just also want to see disney downfall in my lifetime but that's neither here nor there#idk man#i was so excited to hear abt the book of bill but I don't think i could stomach#directly supporting the company that pledged $2million to the occupation project#free palestine#and don't forget that you can still sail the seven seas (or just go buy old dvds! I need to build a collection)#lol it's easy to boycott if you're broke !

The show really hits you with the fact that Annabeth is the head counselor for the Athena cabin. Like, obviously she’s been there for a long time, but none of her older siblings are more fit for the job? How many others who are more experienced and older have already ventured off on deadly quests, never to return? Just how much death and tragedy has this girl witnessed at camp?
#i’m coming to realize there’s a lot of stuff i never looked too closely into when i first read the books#and then had already come to know and accept those facts every time i reread them#in my defense i was in first grade when i started pjo#so. wasn’t overly concerned with the mental and physical toll put on annabeth at such a young age#but still#absolutely crazy#there’s probably smth to be said about young girls being forced to mature early and blah blah blah but i’m too tired for meta#just thinking abt annabeth#this poor girl#percy jackson#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo#pjo tv show#pjo tv adaptation#what tags are we using#annabeth chase#annabeth pjo#pjotv#percy jackson disney+#rick riordan

i dont think yall understand how floored i was when i found out that the interview with the vampire books are actually incredibly erotically gay for real and not just light queercoding or fan's gay ships?? bc this changes everything. i had always assumed anne rice hated fanfic authors for making her male characters fuck, but no, she just wanted to be the only author making her male characters fuck
#i think this is why a lot of people (including me) were initially shocked by the show being so explicitly queer too#bc i can't be the only one who didnt know much abt iwtv and assumed rice's issue with fanfic was the gay sex#and then during the promotions u had interviewers being like 'wow this a very queer interpretation! why is that!'#and poor iwtv fan club president sam reid has to be like well the books are already queer you buffoon#i feel like this is a weird internet myth that needs to be busted#i even remember seeing a hit post on here when s1 came out that was like 'did they have to wait for anne rice to die to make this'#when she's actually credited as an executive producer#LMAO#anyways#alex talks#interview with the vampire#iwtv#lestat de lioncourt#louis de pointe du lac#the vampire armand#the vampire claudia#daniel molloy#anne rice#.txt

very interested in how the storyline of ronan's sexuality is developed in the dream thieves as a battle between kavinsky and gansey while adam is almost never present in these scenes, which makes it even more interesting that we found out in CDTH that ronan was set on adam the moment he saw him. i think that ronan is attracted on some level to both gansey and kavinsky (you can draw the lines of how much romantic intention you think he hold towards either of the yourself, that's a rabbit hole I would need a whole other post to go down) but more so I think he was attracted to the IDEA of both of them and certain qualities that each possessed, and that the real question wasn't does ronan want gansey or kavinsky because we know he wants adam but rather who's qualities resonate more with who ronan is, or who he is choosing to be at this critical moment in his character development. kavinsky is a dangerous thrill and often comes wrapped in ronan's other favorite self destructive attempts to outrun himself, while gansey is ronan's history and proof of his deep capacities for loyalty and love. he tells kavinsky it was never going to be me and you and that it's not going to be ronan and gansey because that was never the question- maggie was obviously always planning on bluesy and pynch. the answer to who ronan WANTS in adam. the question of who ronan IS- that's what he's trying to decide here. his self hatred is such a heavy weight on him and theme in tdt, and the kavinsky/gansey dichotomy represents the the path he will choose to take to deal with it- keep try to drive faster than his demons or accept that he can still be loved even if he isn't the person he once was. the dream thieves my beloved ronan lynch my beloved
#obviously I'm not the authority on this lmao these r just my thoughts but I would love to hear ur thoughts as well!!!#this has been in my drafts for a while while I kept updating and tweaking it but I think this is the best way to say what I'm trying to say#also lot of kavinsky posts here at kazbiter recently not very sure what's up w that#anyways yeah I really do think this is why she did it this way like I don't think kavinsky ever even says adams name?? i could b wrong tho#and I always found that interesting and while I appreciated he was the leader of ronsey nation I was like how does he not know abt adam#and this is my conclusion I think it was an active writing choice of Maggie's bc the dichotomy of gansey/kavinsky just really works for#ronans personal overarching plot of the book that is undoubtedly his in trc

do u guys ever think abt how the fandom blaming mabel and/or ford (this applies to other characters too but i mostly see it with them) for Everything is exactly what bill would’ve wanted. like it’s not his fault for tricking them, it’s their fault for falling for it
bill is the villain here - he’s the manipulator and the abuser and the one who wanted Bad Things To Happen. but somehow all the blame ends up falling on the shoulders of the people he used as unwitting pawns to achieve that goal
in fanfic & stuff i think a lot of this comes down to the fact that it’s easier to “punish” the human characters - they have loved ones and dreams and aspirations, and taking that away from them leads to more of an emotional impact than anything you could possibly do to bill. sure, you can kill him, send him to prison, make him do therapy, whatever, but he doesn’t have anything. there’s nothing you can take away from him that he hasn’t already taken from himself. as messed up as it is i think people just find it more satisfying to hurt someone who actually has a weak point, even if that person isn’t the one really at fault
anyways. idk i just think bill would really get a kick out of seeing people sympathize with him more than they do his victims
#tbob & the fandom’s response to it is truly peak ‘you are not immune to propaganda’#anyways the stuff abt not being able to punish bill is hyperbolic for the sake of making a point#i have seen some really incredible works abt him actually having to /think/ about his actions and what he did in therapy#but a lot of people just treat bill doing therapy as him just sitting there like ‘yeah whatever’ and not really taking any of it to heart#which i think is also a lot more accurate to his character BUT again there are ways to make him face consequences#it’s just. harder to write than turning to a human character and going ‘ok this is ur fault so ur family doesn’t love u anymore !!’#am i making sense. yet again i am losing it over blorbos#gravity falls#the book of bill#bill cipher#bill gravity falls#gravity falls bill#bill cipher gravity falls#twoa.txt

im honestly still just as wary about the next season of the witcher even after the table read -
because it was never about liam's acting skills.
do i think henry cavill was a spectacular match for geralt?
yeah. but not only because of his looks or his acting: he GOT geralt and the witcher in general. he's a massive nerd who knows the franchise like he wrote it himself and was a big reason (not the sole, but a big one) that the show kept on track and was even somewhat faithful to the original material.
but i don't believe cavill did a regé jean-page and like. left to seek stardom or whatever. this was a passion project too for him, you could tell.
no, I'm wary of the future of witcher because of the higher ups involved.
so what DID the people who disagreed so hard with him he quit the project do? well, they needed a 7000 word letter from joey batey and the fanbase pleading just to allow jaskier to be queer like he (pretty much) canonically is. didn't need incentive from anyone to create fake gay motives for the worse villain of the story, though. didn't need incentive to completely ruin one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, or let his actor get harassed on socials after the swap without ever saying shit.
i do not trust that these people, who have proven callous, arrogant and ignorant about both the source material and the opinions of the fanbase (and have made some choices nearing bigotry) and who disagreed so heavily with the actor who knew the source material best are capable of producing a good season 4. liam or no liam. am i hoping he's a good geralt? yes, the series and other actors don't deserve to have their performance harmed by him. can it be as good as the seasons cavill was in? for the reasons cited above: fuck no.
#the witcher#the witcher netflix#twn#witcher#geralt#henry cavill#liam hemsworth#adding tags because apparently yall cannot be trusted with critical thinking#i dont like henry cavill#but if you think actors read the books their roles are based on i will be making fun of you#i apologise for not having consumed every single piece of interview abt this show#i do that thing where i go outside instead its pretty nice#every single contrary comment is like “well i dont like cavill SO”#ok neither do i?#doesnt change the fact that he did more than a lot of hollywood does (the bar is in hell people bffr)#and that the less power and influence these actors have over lauren and co the absolute fkn worst it is for the show#yall are embarrassing fr

Thinking abt how all the einherjar will die come Ragnarok and how Magnus will probably outlive Blitz, Hearth, Samirah, Amir and Annabeth.
But just imagine, Alex dying in Magnus' arms as he tries desperately to heal she/he, knowing they will both end up dying either way, but still holding onto hope as he sees his friends fighting around him and slowly dying. He can't save them, but gods damn it, will he try.
Imagine when it's finally his turn, he holds onto the hope that he will once again see all his friends and loved ones. Those who had died years ago and those who had died more recently.
Maybe he will see them again. Maybe he won't. We don't really know for sure, but we can still hope.

My personal headcanon is that Pony got his love for reading from Darry. When Darry was in high school he’d read the books he got in class out loud to Ponyboy and straight up just handed him some of the easier ones so they could talk about it later. In my brain the reason Ponyboy clings onto it so much is because it’s one of the things he and Darry REALLY bonded over when he was a kid and it just brings back good memories of when they got along better.
#he begged Darry to keep reading ‘just one more chapter’#one of his favorite memories is reading an entire book one day with Darry#this comes from me and my siblings ngl#my sister used to hand me books she liked and told me to tell her all of my thoughts on it#she was REALLY happy I read above my grade level enough that I could talk to her about it#and I read the books out loud to my brother bc he CANT read above grade level#I have a five year age gap with my sister and a five year age gap with HIM#so like#the books r pretty complicated#today he was mad I didn’t wanna finish reading the book to him which was so cute#the downside to having to read out loud is my voice gets tired#but the bright side is I get to explain everything he doesn’t understand in depth and it’s a#well I wouldn’t say BETTER bonding experience bc I love my sister#but it’s different#more…. connected ig#damn I’m yapping a lot#just imagine it’s all abt pony and Darry#that’s why he read out loud to Johnny#it’s like something he thinks of as an ultimate bonding experience#guys trust#they’re besties#the outsiders#the outsiders 1983#ponyboy curtis#darry curtis#the outsiders hcs

You ever just see people talk about the Percy Jackson books and know somewhere, deep in your heart, that none of these people have understood that this is a series made for middle schoolers. And that fandom will very frequently lie to them like, all the time. No, that character probably isn’t ooc, you’re just thinking of what the fandom turned them into. No, this book isn’t a horrible stain next to the others before it, literally all of them were like this. It’s Percy Jackson. It’s cheesy and occasionally makes a very questionable writing decision.
You gotta be in this for the long haul or jump ship my guys. Be cringe and free or be gone
#percy jackson#tsats#solangelo book#rick riordan#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo#the sun and the star#text post#yall are astounding me in ways i didnt know was possible god bless#also this was mostly written by mark not rick. like yes he signed off on it but still this is mostly mark#but its still Fine??? its fine?????? besties a book abt our favorite gays not being perfect is not the end of the world#did i cringe? hell yes. but was i free? tremendously. and i had a lot of fun i think#'bianca is in elysium but she was reincarnated??' yeah thats odd. anyway that scene was cute wasnt it#'everything is so on the nose' yeah its for middle schoolers and percy jackson isnt known for subtlety. its very rare#'will was ooc' weve literally barely gotten anything on him and no povs until now this IS establishing his character#'the puffs remove nicos whole trauma' no it doesnt. its a fantasy way to sort of explain that nicos trauma is now open instead of repressed#do i wish it wasnt sometimes explained as 'now the trauma is gone'? yes. but i think its moreso meant to be a way of nico dealing with them#he still HAS that trauma fellas. hes still going to be living with it. its just gonna be easier now. thats part of healing besties#also we dont know how these puffs are gonna act in the future so like. hush. shhhhhhhhhh. shut. it was literally never going to be perfect#its pjo. i love this series to death but. its pjo. it is. in fact. sometimes badly written. as it has been many times before in books before#and what else??????? it may not be written the greatest but its MY series that isnt written the greatest square up

The respect I have for people who have actually been able to read The Odyssey and The Iliad is insane.
I was at the bookstore today buying the newest pjo book and I went to the classics section like “hm maybe I can buy The Iliad and The Odyssey so I can finally read them instead of getting all my information on the plot from video summaries, spark notes, and tumblr” then I grabbed both of them and decided to yk sift through to see if I could actually even read it. I in fact, could NOT read those things. Like the style of English and speaking hurt my brain, I thought the spark notes summaries were brain melting but oh lord the book itself hurt more.
So yeah I did not buy either one and only both wrath of the triple goddess lmao, but I did leave with a lot of respect for the people who have been able to actually read the book because I just can’t
But also if anyone has like a translation of either one that’s easier to read please do recommend and I’ll see if I can get it because I would really like to actually have a copy I can refer to when I need it (a copy I can actually understand that is)
#the odyssey#the illiad#classics#greek mythology#homeric epics#homer#homer buddy i can’t read the translations of your monstrosities#which really sucks because of my current hyperfixation being greek mythology#curse you epic for doing this to me btw#also do not get this post twisted as me not knowing the stories because i do know them#via video summaries and spark notes#and tumblr#which is less reliable at times#so it’s mostly video summaries and spark notes#but i do know the stories#and a lot of other greek myths#fun fact just because i like epic and pjo doesn’t mean i think they’re accurate#weird that some people automatically assume epic and/or pjo fans don’t know actual greek mythology#yeah some don’t#but there are a lot of us that do#we just like the books and the musical because they’re fun#like the pjo books are a really fun read and it’s a fun universe to think abt#and epic is just a really fun retelling of the odyssey#i see so many toxic classics fans get genuinely pissed at the mere mention of any kind of modern take in greek myths/retellings#like i get it being annoying if ppl who actually don’t know the myths/stories try and argue that they’re right#but don’t judge everyone just because of a few people#it makes it harder than it should be to be a fan of both the original stories and modern takes on them#epic the musical#percy jackson and the olympians#wrath of the triple goddess
