Korrasami art!! Sketched this earlier in the week and finally colored it!! I had to wait for my earth tone acrylic paint markers to arrive because I needed tan flesh colors for Korra!! The shuttle art set I got a few months ago doesn’t have any flesh tones so I finally ordered some:) The markers aren’t the best but they will do for now! I didn’t want to drop $100000 on markers 😅

Dashi Masina Dachshund & Kwazii J. Rackham III Redesigns ====================

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I LOVE THIS DUO SO MUCH, THEY ARE SUCH AN UNDERATED DUO

DASHI : For Dashi's redesign, I wanted more red-leaning hues to better match the pink skirt of her uniform. Her hair was a struggle, and her entire design tbh. I've always loved Dashi and her character, so making a design for her that I like has always been kind of intimidating. I know it's not at all close to canon, but I don't mind all that much. She's gorgeous, and I love her. Once/If I ever get around to doing a full body of her, it'll look more accurate.

Anywho, the hair is my favorite part of Dashi ( along with her dimples, eeee X3 ) I've always adored the creative ways people have done her hair, and all the absolute drop des gorgeous inspiration pictures I see all over Pinterest. Her design is very self indulgent, but alas, I do not care. She's my favorite girl boss so I get to make her even more pretty. (It's a show of affection)

KWAZII : For Kwazii, I wanted to add more dark colors to better match his grandad (Calico Jack). My redesign was inspired by @oatzimir and how he (and others) gave Kwazii dark accents here and there.

Also, I gave him my signature facial/forehead fur to show off the fact I think he'd be more in tune to his animal side. Because yes ✨️✨️✨️🤎

These two have always been a particular struggle for me to design, as you've seen through their frequent changes. But I had a good art day yesterday, so I'm very proud of these. I hat making full bodies (because my anatomy is shit), so headshots are all I can offer. I hope another good art day comes around soon so I can draw the others like this, I'm extremely proud of this piece 💪

A little backstory...Victoria's mother took her to see her father in a production of Peter Pan and Vincent was captain Hook. When Victoria saw her father on-stage, with a hook for a hand, she says she threw an "audible" fit. So her mother, Mary Price took her backstage during the intermission to see that he's still her father. He showed her his hook and proved to her that it's only a clothes hanger and she felt better.

Need an acknowledgement after Buddie goes canon of them having had latent or explicit feelings for each other for years. This isn’t a case of “oh, we were best friends for years and then one day we woke up and were in love.” This is a case of “we’ve been best friends for years, and we’ve been falling in love with each other since the day we met. We just didn’t understand it yet.” We’ve already had Buck’s realization that he’s bisexual, but his arc was chock-full of obliviousness to his attraction to Eddie, his feelings for Eddie, whose attention he actually wants. He still doesn’t really get it, but he gets that he likes men too, at least. Eddie is a whole other ball game. From the Catholic guilt to the toxic masculinity to the childhood emotional neglect to the pressure he keeps putting on himself to perform in relationships. He’s repressed as hell, and he isn’t to “I’m gay” yet, but we see hints of him understanding that how he feels might be a little different (his pause at “follow your heart, not Christopher’s” from Carla, his two talks with Bobby, admitting to performance anxiety on dates to the whole team, his talk with Buck about Marisol being an ex-nun, his acceptance that Ana and a ready-made family was the reason for his panic attack).

We know that the two of them are bad at identifying how they really feel, or at least allowing themselves to feel it. So, it makes way more sense for the show to admit that they’ve had romantic feelings for each other for years, rather than trying to convince the audience that what we’ve been watching these past seven seasons isn’t a product of two characters’ struggles with their identity and relationships. And while I’d be satisfied with a light-hearted snark from Hen or Chim about how they’ve been seeing it for years, I’d be so much happier with a full circle moment of the boys actually fully knowing themselves, acknowledging that they were never just best friends, they just didn’t understand it yet. It would show their series-long growth, as well as being an enormous tip of the hat to the audience. Because we aren’t misinterpreting it. We’re reading the queer-coding directly from the show, yes through subtext of course, but also the literal text. There have been so many moments deserving of acknowledgement in this regard, and I would hate for Buddie to go canon without it being clarified that those moments were exactly as queer and/or romantic as we thought.

See I went into Wicked knowing next to nothing except for that I kept seeing people calling it gay and the characters lesbian. So imagine my tired disappointment when the “gay” was two women crushing on each other but ultimately fighting over some man, and when the “lesbian” ended up with that man in the end. I am begging people to stop throwing around the words gay and lesbian when there is heterosexual activity involved.
