sun in the 12th often misperceived or seen as having underlining motives even when that is furthest from the truth. Actually quite often upfront with their intentions regardless if they know more than they've led you to believe. The projection others put on them is veryyy high, sun person unconsciously triggering deep seated wounds in others while they just assume they’re having a normal conversation. They either love gossip or are always being brought up in gossip. Attracting secret admirers bc of the taboo aspect of their personality. They teach others how to be themselves through example and that gives them the popular loner vibe, everyone wants to know whats going on in their life. Though Its often not as interesting as the stories that are being created about them (probably at home chilling). Unintentionally very funny their light hearted nature makes others feel comfortable. They know how to create warm welcomes. They can read animals minds. They dress how they feel. Escape artist. Probably through music, film or imagination. Gift for photography.

moon in 12th romantic relationships have a big influence on these people. They'll change their whole life around to fit into their lovers life for better or worse. Naturally harmonious these people are seemingly unsuspecting until you piss them off then you realize they just choose to keep peace. Prone to escapism usually through some sort of creative pursuit turned business. Obviously not forward with their feelings ppl tend to label them as having their head in the clouds when in reality they have plans its just nobody else's business. There's a love/resentful relationship with the mother. The mother could've been a physical provider but not emotional. These ppl had to nurture and comfort themselves and it made them very good at being those things for others. Children and animals loveeeee them. They are givers and don't mind sharing for the greater good. Dependable and persistent they can stick out something they feel is important. But if they don't care... Oh its very obvious. That job they don't like? Oh don't even worry about it they'll quit. They don't like feeling stressed or unharmonious and don't mind removing anything thats trying to hinder that. In the lower natures this creates a person that ignores anything that would make them have to readjust their behavior. Extremely delusional and misreads the room quite often. Very emotional changing how they feel about you frequently. It can become hard to give and receive trust.

Mars in the 12th manifest things/experiences so easy especially through their connections. They know how to put themselves in the right rooms with the right people. They date people that improve their social standing and they do the same in return. When its comes to career they could've seemed like the runt in the group but they grew themselves to be well respected in their field. Often hearing ''you only got this because''. They attract a lot of haters jealous of their success or the way they got their success. these people are attractive and naturally have a body others envy, they always have options and good ones at that.

Venus in 12th boy oh boy the hopeless romantics, but whats so hopeless about it? Others may often wonder why you picked the person you did viewing you as opposites. There may be an age gap or cultural difference. The women often choose partners that have a different social standing or perception than their own. The Men do the same though their more willing to be in relationships with unrequited love. Have had their fair share of infidelity issues until they found the person that would ride or die for them and vise versa. Privacy and trust are high priority for these people. Very good at socializing they know how to read what is needed to improve the energy of a space. Their parties/hostings are always so inviting and rememberable. They work very well with children and animals. Especially those in need. Fostering is something they wouldn't mind doing, along with nursing things back to health. Examples hair, nails. Plants etc. Very crafty they'd create beautiful jewelry and clothing. Their style is unique and acquired taste even. Controlling an image or narrative comes natural these Pol could do damage control for celebrities. When Ppl are in a frantic state they know how to calm assist.

Mercury in 12th are good at controlling the narratives around themselves. People hand on to every word that's said. These are the types that prefer to talk when necessary and not give out to much information. Just enough to keep you hooked. They have a unique sound and are musically inclined it helps that they think outside of the box. Usually the leader of the group because of their ability to see the broader picture and keep everyones best interest at heart. They attract haters bc they set high goals for themselves they get viewed as outlandish or unpractical when actually they just believe in themselves and remain optimistic. They know alot about very specific niche things.

Jupiter in the 12th don't get the credit they deserve for being so iconic. They really are trendsetters that break molds and stereotypes and tend receive backlash for the things they say & do simply because they were the first to do it. Opening up the pathway for others to show up more authentically and protected. They have big expression and are passionate about the things they choose to do. Their not afraid to speak their truth and having a forgiving nature. Creative pursuits are well received by the public attracting sponsors easily. Its also easy for them to find/create a community ppl reall gravitate to them. Their kryptonite lies in their self esteem. If they can't face rejection they'll hide the best parts of themselves. Only seeing the beauty in others and not what they offer the world.

Saturn in the 12th need to know when to stop while their ahead. They get into unnecessary battles bc of a fragile or inflated ego. When the ego is healthy this makes for a very powerful person that commands rooms with ease. They make Pol want to sit up in their chair when they walk in. These Pol are stubborn but more often than not it works out in their favor. Very hard workers and the same energy they apply is expected from those around them. If they put in 80 hrs a week they expect the same from you, if I can do it why can't you mentality. They achieve alot and Ppl notice it but its like no one ever sees them working they just see the finished product and know a lot had to be done behind the scenes. For example let's say someone is very popular you know they would've had to built those relationships you just didn't see it happen. They could have a guilt complex about their achievements and feel like theirs still more they should be doing for other ppl. Growing up as the star, the golden child, the one thats going to help the family put a lot of pressure and responsibility on them. This could've also affected the relationship between the others siblings. Lastly these Ppl are either very serious about punctuality or show up whenever they want to. Maybe even both they could've started out one way and over time became another way. When saturn is damaged they run from responsibility and are viewed as childish and never learning from their lessons.

Neptune in the 12th know how to win over the audience. I chose the word audience bc they love an audience. Ppl will make excuses for their behavior like ''you know they had a rough childhood'' as if that excuses hurting others. Professional sympathy grabbers even when their not even trying and great ass kissers when they want to be. That is in neptunes lower natures ofc. These ppl speak their mind without a fuck given. This is like the only pile im cursing in and that kind of explains them. Their going to say what they want and don't mind shaking the room up. Image is important to them. They'll study their own footage to see what they looked like, sounded like, acted like, and change anything they deem as not fitting. They could be great actors or social media personalities. Also would be good at managing social media accounts. These ppl may be easily persuaded especially by those they view as having a higher social ranking than themselves. Knowing how to adapt to any environment is their strong suit. They act as a mirror in their environment and reflect back whatever energy you give them. To a T at that. They know when to play it up or be more lowkey. This is type of person to always leave lasting impressions on ppl. They could be the first in a taboo field to achieve something. Like being the first pornstar to get 100 million views. Its like when you think you have them figured out they do something else that shows there's many other sides to them. Often hearing ''i didnt think I would like you at first''. With a great sense of humor they know how to laugh at themselves and lighten the mood they don't take life to seriously. They attract a lot of unique ppl their friend group is very expansive. They could be friends with a stripper and an attorney. Hell they might've been a stripper and an attorney.

Uranus in the 12th they just pop up and ppl are surprised like ''omg what are doing here'' these ppl are held in high regard mostly bc their very selective with their energy, your viewed as a busy person so when you come around it makes ppl feel lucky. You treat others fairly and want everyone around you to feel accepted. You value keeping the peace. The fact that I'm even using you instead of they is a reflection of how inclusion is important for you. Having an eccentric vibe is more obvious here but alot of ppl go the opposite way and don't want to appear uniquely at all they actually want to be as plain Jane as possible. This can actually rub ppl the wrong way and make them feel something is being hidden from them like your pretending. Feeling criticized in childhood is why accepting others is something they prioritize. They end up in rooms with many different types of ppl. This placement has a lot of experience in a lot of different areas. With a free spirited nature they are open to trying new things pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone quite often.

Pluto in the 12th, a quiet energy standing in the back of the room scoping out the scenery. They notice more than ppl realize and are smarter than they let on. Often having their power tested bc of their calm observing demeanor. Ppl try to make them feel they don't belong in certain environments or that their not really qualified but they don't mind showing you why that perception isn't accurate. They know how to push back. The type to pretend they don't care about popularity but they work very hard at obtaining it. But maybe they don't care about the popularity just the power that it brings. Self sacrificing even, its like they believe thats how you show someone you really care. These are some of the most passionate people you'll meet. They just know how to make you feel understood and seen. They make everyone feel special. This is one of the most intense placements for the 12th house. The transformations are deep, murky, confusing but it breeds and very self sufficient determined person. They question everything and are always growing and adapting. When they find something they like they become obsessive about it. They will work for extended amounts at a time. Like binging behavior. In Pluto's lower natures they develop a chip or their shoulder and use their influence to hurt others. If they are operating from that place they become very good at it. If they are never brought into awareness they continue generational curses but their children will have it worse than they did. These are the type of Pol that will tell you a traumatic experience in such a casual way and your just left like wtf you said that like it was normal. They also could've grew up experiencing their traumas being brushed off like they were normal. They were familiar with death from a young age and may have felt like they never really were a child. They build the trust of others easily and its bc their honest. It is what it is to them. They are natural born leaders it doesn't take much convincing & they don't mind leading the way as long as you give them their accolades for it. Mind you they could have a god complex but to be fair if you've experienced or achieved the things they have you might too.

I forgot how much of a monsterfucker I am 😭 here's a lil scenario I made in my head. Also since these are all headcanons, I now headcanon Willy owns a truck for the sake of convenience. Just like I headcanon Elliott's cabin is bigger and has more furniture than it actually does lol.

Also I kinda imagine merman Elliott to be slightly different from regular Elliott. Less naturally charming and more comparable to an eager to please golden retriever.

You often fish at the dock by the sea, and Elliott curiously watches you from a distance. He's wary of any humans that aren't Willy, but something about you enraptures him.

He asks Willy about you, being the only human who knows of his existence. Willy tells him what he knows about you, thinking it's sweet he has an obvious lil crush on you.

The more Elliott learns, the more he becomes obsessed. Slowly but surely, he'll work up the courage to talk to you, when it's darker out and you're the only human at the beach. If you freak out, he'll apologize profusely and try to calm you down.

Once you start talking more regularly, Elliott starts begging for you to join him in the water. He'll take it as an opportunity to cuddle you and float around with you on him like a sea otter with its baby

But soon that won't become enough for him. When you start getting more busy, he'll become upset.

What are you doing instead of spending time with him?? Who are you talking to instead of him???

He starts begging you to take him to your home with you, but of course you shut down the idea pretty quickly. He's offended and hurt, but doesn't let it show.

Then he gets an idea. If he could convince Willy to put him in the bed of his truck and drive him to your house, then everything will work out! He could easily convince him that this was already something he talked out with you beforehand.

And his plan works! He shows up on your doorstep.

When you do start dating, he becomes even MORE clingy and flirtatious. Praises you for the smallest things, giving you at least a 1000 kisses a day.

Since he learns how to use phones, he's often calling Willy. Tells him to collect some seashells and drop them off while you're gone. He totally makes a necklace out of them and gives it to you, a matching one for himself to show you're officially mates now!

He's not very dangerous as a yandere already, so as a merman he'd be even less so, but he still is just as possessive and obsessive.

He has a harder time masking his creepy behavior since he's never interacted with anyone to really tell him off, nor has he witnessed others doing the same. May ask Willy for more ideas on how to woo you.

Overall, he's still a romantic and possessive/obsessive as ever. Just has much less shame as he normally would.

Now that Oshi No Ko is over and the fandom is slowly starting to die down, here are three of my controversial opinions:

Aqua's ending is no surprise.

I know many were disappointed with Aqua's ending, but honestly it didn't really surprise me. I've seen a lot of revenge plots in the media, so when Aqua said he wanted to avenge Ai in episode 1, I immediately understood how this story was going to end.

Also, there were some foreshadowings in the season 1 ending and in some manga panels that showed how Aqua would end up. Of course, that doesn't mean the ending is well written, I just mean that the ending wasn't completely unexpected.

However, it remains cliché with the sadness pushed to the extreme that it is difficult to feel bad for the characters.

Kana's stans ruined her character for me.

Long story short, I knew a bit about ONK's plot before watching the anime via TikTok edits. I knew there was a love triangle and that Kana was the most popular character, but when I looked at edits about the other girls, especially Akane and Ruby's edits, there wasn't a single comment that said "Kana is better".

Then I watched season 1 and honestly her character didn't really appeal to me. Even after finishing the entire series, I never understood what was so great about her, other than the fact that her abandonment issues and insecurities were relatable.

The more I looked at the fandom, the more I felt like this Kana hype was cult-like. In fact, Kana fans on Twitter and TikTok are the biggest condescending gaslighters I've ever seen.

Always saying: "I feel like I'm the only one who likes Kana", "Kana is underrated", "She doesn't deserve all this hate", "Kana haters don't understand the story"... WHILE ABSOLUTELY NOBODY HATES KANA! On the contrary, you say a single wrong word about the best girl in ONK and you get blasted by @kanasolourfav who will write you paving stones about why you are wrong, how much he understood the story unlike you and how much Aqua loves Kana (when that is not even the subject).

This kind of behavior made me end up liking all the girls in the series except Kana. Plus, I absolutely hated how the fandom excused or even admired her despicable behavior at times.

I understand that her bitchy attitude is part of her charm, it made me laugh sometimes, but there are still times when Kana was really a bitch with a capital B for nothing.

Like that scene where she makes fun of Akane in front of the entire theater troupe. As someone who has already experienced public humiliation in front of my class, I really found that moment disgusting on Kana's part.

What I also find ironic is that Kana fans have often called Akane a pick me for imitating Ai, yet the time Kana made fun of Akane in front of everyone and bragged to Aqua that her relationship with him is special while reducing Akane's worth, is much more pick me behavior than simply imitating someone to survive on a reality show.

Because yes, today we use the term pick me to designate a woman we don't like, but the real definition of a pick me is a woman who pulls other women down so that men understand that she's better.

(if that's not pick me behavior, then I don't know what is)

In short, aside from the fact that her attitude is sometimes borderline, objectively Kana's character is interesting and relatable, but this girl really deserved a better fanbase.

In Ruby’s defense.

I know that after the reveal between Aqua and Ruby that they are Goro and Sarina, there was a massive surge of hatred for Ruby's character as she started to see Aqua in a more romantic light.

But I think many have forgotten that in her first life, Ruby died at the age of 12. Which is very young, and it is reflected in her attitude throughout the series. For example Aqua read complex books while he was still in kindergarten because he was an adult in his old life, so he has the mentality of an adult. Same thing for Ruby, need I remind you that she literally rolled around on the floor stamping her feet so that Miyako would pressure the music producer to give them a song.

Because that's what Ruby is: a child.

Also, since she was seriously ill to the point of not being able to move, her former family literally abandoned her and she found herself isolated with no one. Isolation causes great mental damage, so imagine in someone young.

With Goro being the only person who cared about her at the time, hinting that she might have a chance with him when she's 16, and promising her that he'll be her #1 supporter when she's an idol, I understand why Ruby changed her attitude when she realized that Goro was still alive through Aqua.

Ruby, in both of her lives, never grew out of childhood. Childish immaturity combined with Ai's death must not have helped her be reasonable about her feelings towards Aqua.

There's also this: a lot of people underestimated the impact Ai's death had on Ruby. Now, it's understandable because the show didn't explore Ruby's trauma as much as Aqua's, but Ruby also hadn't moved on from Ai, hence her obsession with becoming an idol. Also, Ai was the only person who gave Ruby some joy when she was lying in her hospital bed, she gave her a purpose to accomplish in life, gave her love and affection by being her daughter, she helped her surpass herself (the scene where Ai and Ruby dance together). Ruby lost all of that.

Personally I don't trust anyone who refers to Rhaenryra's first three sons as Strong boys especially if they are Team Black.

Sure they might dislike them! You might even dislike them for the most basic and petty reasons like they're just boring or you just don't vibe with them. Perfectly fine.

Nah FR though! As soon as I see “the Strong boys” or “the Bastards” it’s like, oh okay I’m dealing with one of the THOSE people. It’d be like people who dislike Tyrion persistently calling him “the Imp” or “the Dwarf” in fandom. Why are you using the insults of Medieval bigots, it’s weird.

Some people just fail to grasp that there is a difference between saying something like:

“I don’t like that Rhaenyra had bastards because that causes further succession issues, and for the sake of stability it’s best that a true born son sits the throne instead of Jace.”

And saying something like:

“Rhaenyra is such a selfish whore. I hate the bastards and can’t wait for them to die. Bastard blood must be cleansed from the throne!”

Or rather, I don’t think that it’s that they fail to grasp it, but they refuse to ACKNOWLEDGE it. Because they are haters and want to use the most extreme tone and language to express their hatred. Which— hey, I get it, I’m a TG hater and love to trash talk Aegon II, Aemond, Alicent, etc. But can we at least acknowledge that you ARE using prejudiced language and embracing medieval bigotry, and understand how weird of a choice that is?

I actually really like both Amanda and Warren, so I feel dumb on asking this but can you explain what you mean?? I mean for Warren he literally didn't know Max was sapphic, but idk Amanda wasn't unreasonable to feel overwhelmed by Max and all of her issues.

Don’t feel dumb, it’s probably way less noticeable if you do romance Amanda during your playthrough. I just feel like Life is Strange players often forgot that everything that happens in the game is ‘in character’ — or that it is at least something a character could’ve and would’ve done, which means that all the choices you didn’t pick got picked by other players, and what happened after actually did happen. If you don’t romance Amanda, she is (to me) way less likable as a character, and she definitely reminds me of what Warren haters depicted him as. Now, don’t get me wrong, Warren isn’t my favorite character and I do think that some of the things he said/did were a bit cringey and someone should’ve told him at times to shut his mouth, but I don’t think it was as bad as some people say it is. Also, he is a sixteen years old teenage boy at the end of the day.

Warren haters say that he is pushy, and obsessive, that he can’t take ‘no’ for an answer and that he doesn’t understand Max anyway, or doesn’t treat her well, and yeah, you know what, all of this can be true, at times. Not to the extreme, but true nonetheless. But not overwhelmingly so. With Amanda, though, if you don’t romance her, all of those adjectives are true, and overwhelming. By the end, that was the only things I could see in her character, and I got so annoyed every time she appeared on screen.

If you don’t romance Amanda, and never once flirt with her throughout the whole game, she keeps talking about how much she is attracted to Max nonetheless. To the point where it feels like she’s trying to guilt-trip her into dating her. I know this wasn’t the point, and it was probably just the devs trying to convince us to romance someone, but it got tiring, and creepy (because why on Earth would she insist that much). And I was so ready to let that slide, and just think she was supposed to be a likable character and she could be fun sometimes, when she wasn’t talking about dating Max, and it was only the poor writing that made her so annoying. But then there’s the last scene, if you don’t romance her, where she basically says that Max is too much to deal with anyway and she’s glad Max friendzoned her. Which? Why is that even a scene? I get the scene where she rejects Max, if you romance her, because even if it’s also annoying that all of the flirting and countless remarks about wanting to date Max led to only that, of course she had to do it if she wasn’t ready to date her (though I could argue is another part of the ‘she doesn’t understand Max’ point, because it feels like she only wanted Max for the easy parts of her, and backed down the second things got complicated), but that scene was unnecessary as fuck if you don’t romance her.

Why would you say that to someone? “I’m glad you didn’t want me you’re too much anyway”? Out of spite, because they rejected you? What was the point of saying that, except making Max feel like shit (and guilty)? It feels just like when Max tells Warren she doesn’t want to go ape with him and he says “okay fine whatever I’ll go alone then”, except Max and Amanda are both adults, and it’s worse. Again, probably bad writing. Still, if I was Max, I would be pissed. And it did piss me off. Which makes me absolutely unable to like Amanda, no matter how nice she is if you romance her, or how many good scenes she has.

(For the record, I wish I wasn’t saying that. I don’t want to put a female character, or a wlw ship down, and point to a male character (or a mlw ship) and say “that’s better” — that’s not what I am doing, by the way. I dislike both Amanda and Warren’s behaviors. Also, if you like Amanda or Warren, you’re valid too, it’s just my opinion from my playthrough).

Hi! This is my first ask so I’m sorry if this has been asked before! I recently found your page and I really love your thoughts on Nagito! So I wanted to ask how you feel about people saying that Nagito only likes Hajime for his hope? For me personally, I think that’s way off, as Nagito has said more than once that he loves Hajime for him and his hope! Not to be mean or anything but I do feel like people who say that just don’t like Komahina which is completely fine! But let’s not hide from the truth, you know? I hope that’s not too mean but it really does bother me when people say that.

I really despise when people say Nagito only likes Hajime for his hope. Nagito felt something special about Hajime and had an interest from the start. We have dialogue PROVING that what he feels for Hajime goes beyond status. I know people feel the need to undermine relationships if they dislike a ship or want to for their own ship, but Hajime and Nagito are so important to each other's story that it pisses me off when people do so. Like, heaven forbid a character have two meaningful relationships with other characters lmfao.

Nagito likes Hajime as a person as well as his hope. In his last free time event Nagito thinks Hajime is even more special because he bothered to spend time with "scum like him," which makes him believe Hajime certainly can create the most beautiful hope. It's crazy because komahina haters can be really extreme, from trying to say Nagito only likes his hope, saying Hajime was never reciprocal or wants him dead, and being boarder line ableist towards Nagito. People really need to learn you don't need a reason to dislike a ship, and you certainly don't need to make one up or start wars over it.

Nagito's warm feelings towards Hajime are so special to me. Nagito who's someone who thinks he isn't worthy of the ultimates attention, sees Hajime and is interested enough that he defies his regular behaviors. He goes out of his way to help him, get his attention, and try to make a good impression. It's so unbelievably sweet to me, it's implied to become romantic but it doesn't matter if you see it that way it's undeniable Nagito shows interest beyond status. Nagito cares about Hajime and feels a connection, even when his world falls apart and he's breaking down, he still cares for Hajime when he doesn't want to.

Komahina means a lot to me. There's so much going on with both of their characters and relationship, they are thematic foils who care for each other despite everything. They both feel tricked by each other at some point, but they still care for each other. Their relationship is messy but they never hated each other. They both can see things they hate about themselves in the other and learn to love the other while learning to love themselves.

as a sparxshipping shipper, what annoys you about the behavior of extremely aggressive haters?

(sorry for the late reply, things have been a bit crazy)

honestly, anon, there's so much that annoys me that we genuinely don't have the time to go into it all. but i've learned that i find myself getting less angry and less annoyed now that i use the lovely little block button that tumblr has blessed us with. at the end of the day, everyone has an opinion whether you like it or not. and if you know a particular opinion tends to get under your skin, or you know a specific hater that's really aggressive about it, the block button is your best friend. my life is so much better using it.

of course, if i had to narrow it down based off my experience with them, i'd probably say the arguments bother me. and not in the way you'd think! people can argue about it all day, but my complaint is that it's always the same two arguments.

i'm not going to touch on the age gap argument. i'm just not. not because i'm unable to defend it, but because i'm tired of defending it to people who don't want to listen anyway.

my absolute favorite one though is when they come off with: "wow you ship them when he murdered her whole family?? cringe". it's beautiful. mostly because it's stupid. but mostly because it's inaccurate. like what do you mean he murdered her whole family? oritel and miriam are alive. always have been. there's a whole movie about it. y'all should watch it. if they're trying to say he murdered daphne because she's the only one confirmed dead (we're gonna ignore s5 for obvious reasons), we have never gotten any confirmation about who killed daphne. baltor killing daphne is actually a non-canon event that i'm pretty sure sparxshippers came up with (which should concern the haters more, if anything!). based on what little footage we have of daphne during the battle, it's actually more likely she was killed by the ancestresses. however, we have never had true, canon confirmation on who killed daphne. hell, it might've been no one! she could've gone out cersei and jaime style! WE DON'T KNOW!

I know he said he apologized privately to Em about the Hailey thing. He could have apologized privately to Kendall as well, we don’t know. I’ve heard the tweet was proven to be fake because he didn’t have twitter at that time that was supposedly tweeted.

To me the most important part of an apology are actions not the words . For instance if your partner cheats on you and apologizes , but then continues the behavior , he’s not really sorry. Colson may not have come out with a public statement or apology BUT he knows he was wrong , he’s said how he hates all his old interviews, how he doesn’t stand by shit he said back then , how a lot of the time he was just saying shit to say shit and saying things for shock value. Despite his disgusting words he’s said when he was young and stupid he has NEVER had an extremely young , or freshly turned 18 girl ( unlike a lot of other celebrities who don’t get half the shit Colson does) He’s also NEVER had a single SA allegation against him. And he has NEVER again said anything inappropriate like that again. And that to me is more important then actually saying “sorry”. district 4 is so interesting to me because they're commonly named as one of the career districts but the actual text kind of shows us otherwise?? granted we don't get a good look at too many district 4 tributes but district 4 was one of the very first to rebel, and their tributes in the 75th games were extremely anti-capitol. my theory is that maybe they were a bona fide career district some time ago, maybe ~30 years, but anti-capitol sentiment grew over time and by the time of the books they're not really playing the games that way anymore. maybe kids still train to compete, but it's more for survival and not for glory or the capitol's favor.

or maybe they just lumped in with the careers because they're generally healthy and strong and have lots of skills that transfer to the games, and the kids from 1 & 2 target that and ask them to join the pack. because besides maybe 11's potential botanical knowledge, 4 is really the only district that gets any skill buff from their line of work. at the very least they can all swim. everyone else is in factories or mines. so maybe 4's kids are not coached and trained like 1 and 2, but their natural advantage from their environment (wealthier district, physically active work, healthier diet) brings them into the career pack more often than not.

maybe it's just not something suzanne thought about, but i think there's support for my theory that district 4 formerly trained career tributes but doesn't any longer. like why would finnick have volunteered for his games at the age of 14, that's a death sentence. and if it's true that he didn't volunteer, it means a 14-year-old was reaped and no 18-year-olds vied for his place, which is not typical career behavior. and if he had volunteered because he had been trained and coached for the games, i can't imagine any mentor would send in a kid younger than 16 if they wanted their kid to have a shot at victory. even if they were betting on his beauty carrying him through the games. it just doesn't make strategic sense to me to send in someone SO young. why not wait two or three years for him to become even more beautiful. and also, if the district 4 careers were just as career-y as 1 & 2, why did no one volunteer when finnick was reaped the second time?

i am almost 100% certain that many of the reapings for the 75th games were rigged. whether by the capitol or by the rebels, i'm not sure, but it's too fishy. despite being known rebels, johanna and katniss as their districts' only female victors obviously had no choice, but aint it sure convenient that finnick AND annie both got reaped, and that haymitch's name was called when everyone knew peeta would volunteer. fourteen out of the twenty-four victors turned out to be rebel sympathizers, and while i'm sure several only joined the plan once they had been reaped, many of them were known anti-capitol people. i don't know if that's just because most victors became capitol haters once they survived their games and were turned into toys for the president, or if the rebels planned to get as many as their people in there as possible, or if the capitol decided to knock out all their unsympathetic victors in one go, but it's too much of a coincidence to be a real coincidence
