It seems that writing fanfic for The Pitt will require a lot more research than for any medical drama up till now. :)

Not that I have ideas for The Pitt fanfic...

The show is exactly what Noah Wyle promised -- more medicine, less (melo)drama. I literally do not see any potential ships (not that I usually do, but I can figure out who might fall in love with who, or who the fandom might want to fall in love with who) (that also means there won't be a lot of fic, hmm. idek, maybe that's not such a good thing? the lack of romance, I mean?)

Beside medicine the show is also focused on the doctors, which is great. I loved how the camera was always on them, not the patients. In some cases we weren't even shown the patients' faces, or we were at a later point. While the doctors (and nurses) are front and center all the time.

While I don't see romantic ships, I definitely see potential for some great friendships. My favorite being between Dr Langdon and Dr King.

In general Langdon is my fave (as I knew he would be after that one article I read, like, three weeks ago). I think I like Dr Santos too, but that's mostly because I know the actress from Star Trek Picard. As a character -- well, I enjoy watching her. She has a lot of room to grow and characters such as her are always the best, imo.

Other characters -- omg there are so many. Like... Ten? Sheesh. It would take too long to list my thoughts on them all, so I'll leave it here for now. As a first impression meta this should be enough.

Been thinking about Willy. He's an awful, shitty dude. And in AMoD, it's implied that he was pretty awful as a child. Killing cats and generally being horrible to Stud.

But I've been thinking. This child's father drank himself to death. And who knows what happened to Willy's mom. I don't remember her being mentioned at all. And then his uncle just disappears. What a crap hand to be dealt.

I don't think it excuses his behavior. He could very well be a born psychopath. But it certainly reinforces the idea of generational trauma. Which is amplified in Willy. Because his behavior is affecting all of these families (and the Doodler), not just his own. His desire to live forever is now impacting Scary. And I'm fully convinced that he intends for her to die so that he can live.

(Side note: Isn't the Doodler his patron? I don't think someone would have to have a great relationship with their patron for it to work, but I wouldn't think he'd be able to actively work against them either... What is his relationship to the Doodler???)

I'm just really curious how this is all gonna play out.

I'm really enjoying a show, and some ways I can tell if I'm enjoying a piece of fiction is if I:

A. Have to take breaks while consuming it (in this case, pausing it a lot, but when I was in 4th grade, I periodically shut the book for a minute to really take in and dwell on everything I was watching)

B. Laugh, not only at the jokes, but also from the cleverness of the writing

C. Find myself getting emotional over the characters and situations and really connecting with it

And, for bonus points, D. Found it because of another (potentially related) hyperfixation

i like. everything about him 😭 his design, his voice, his personality... he's just great imo! i think i have a thing about cocky and/or violent and/or cold characters, seeing as some of my other favourites are Rocket from GOTG and Rico from Madagascar lmao

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

oooh!! that's hard to say, but i do love looking at a character's dynamics with other characters, so his relationships in general! for example i like the hint that he's called tamka and nduli "fish-for-brains" before, also the fact that he lets janja jump on his back when he's scared of sumu and doesn't kill him for it hfhdjdj. character dynamics are so important to me and kiburi is no exception. i love love love overanalysing him, and this isn't even mentioning how interesting his relationship with makuu is! :}

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

OOO OOO OOOH. looks through my thousands of crossovers AUs. um. due to my endless special interest in it, i'd say Warrior Cats because it'd be funny and i want to see him as an angry lil cat >:]

When did you start liking the character?

i liked and hyperfixated on janja first, then i started to look at his relationships and found his frenemieship with kiburi interesting! before i know it, i'm analysing kiburi's character and finding that he has a lot of hc and au potential!! :] funnily enough, i started liking his character even more when i started thinking about his float too!! it was kinda funny- nduli became a new hyperfixation character first, and then the more i thought about kiburi, the more i focused on his character and the potential of him. i have time blindness n stuff so i can't say exactly when i started hyperfixating on him so much, but your first outlander posts definitely fueled the fire 😭 /vpos

so im starting to play Baldur's Gate, its really good and i highly recomend it for ppl who want to play dnd but cant bc they dont have enough friends who like dnd :'D👌

so i made my character and then at sum point i realized that my class was rougue and i dont wanna be a rogue, id like to be bard but it was a lil confusing bc i couldnt find class or skills when i was customising my character, so i think ill probs reset it, since ive just started it, and ask for sum help from my dad.

I want to say that I absolutely adore your tangled au DC and I'm ready to kiss you for what you created - seriously, you literally connected my current favorite hyperfixation with my childhood favorite hyperfixation. I could not imagine that it would bring me such joy :D And oh, I'd like to share my version of Dick's early biography before Slade took him away and locked him in a high tower.

Dick is still Bruce's adopted son, but he was adopted in infancy. It was exactly the same as in "Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms" - the young king Bruce, while hunting, separated from his guards and his entourage, he found a circus caravan destroyed by robbers, all were killed except one woman and her infant son. A young woman, Mary Grayson, was dying from the wounds inflicted on her, lying next to her dead husband, but continued to hug and protect Dick, who was crying in her arms.

The young King tried to save her, but Mary could not be saved, instead he gave her a promise that he would take care of her child and the young woman died with a calm soul and a smile on her face. It was only when her hands began to lose warmth that Bruce took baby Dick and hugged him. Thus, a little prince appeared in the kingdom - Richard John Thomas. And when, some time later, he fell seriously ill, King Bruce was in despair and ordered his subjects to find a moon flower that, according to legends, is a real piece of a star that fell from the sky...

And my idea of Dick's early childhood is inspired by this wonderful piece of your art - tiny, sweet, wonderful Dick and affectionate Alfred and Bruce made my heart sing.
