Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.

Relationships: Frank Langdon & Michael "Robby" Robinavitch Characters: Frank Langdon, Michael "Robby" Robinavitch Additional Tags: are they still friends?, i want them to be friends, Angst, hurt and hurt, it's not optimistic at all, but at least they don't end up hating each other y'kno..., Episode Related, the pitt episode 1x15, episode 1x15, episode 1x15 fix-it, Only not quite, Drug Addiction, Depression, Robby is Depressed Summary: Episode 1x15 (not quite) fix-it: Frank and Robby talk in the ambulance bay at the end of the shift. What if each of them had a pinch more compassion in them, than in the original version?
A response to @my-dress-is-on-fire prompt on we all fell in the pitt: a summer prompt meme: he’s terrified. but he finds it somewhere in himself to listen to robby’s breakdown in the ambulance bay, and he doesn’t take it personally, because he’s been watching robby like a hawk since returning for the mci. frank doesn’t lash out in return. what changes?
.#
“Trust Robby,” Dana said. “Trust Robby, he’ll do what’s best for you.”
But how can Frank trust Robby after what happened earlier? After Robby threw him out without giving him a chance to explain himself? Just. Go. You’re done.
The words still ring in Frank’s mind, even after all the horrors of MCI.
He tried to talk to Robby, but Robby isn’t giving him a chance even now, even after he proved himself. Now, that the worst of it is over, he won’t let Frank anywhere near any remaining patients. Will he let him come in tomorrow? What’s it all going to look like?
And Dana. What did she mean, she’s not going to come back? Frank can’t let himself think about that. He needs her to back him up, but first, he needs to get some sort of reassurance from Robby. Some sort of a perspective for the future, some sort of a direction, a guidance, an instruction of what he’s supposed to do next.
Robby is out in the ambulance bay—nurse Lee Ann tells him.
Frank hurries there.
Robby is standing at a distance, where the lights of the entrance to the ED don’t reach. He’s turned away from the hospital, his back hunched, head low. He’s exhausted, Frank can see that. Damn, he knows about Robby’s breakdown in the Pedes, but he ignores the warning signs, because his predicament is more urgent in his mind. He needs this solved.

just had this random thought of frank not letting his kids get on the bumper cars at the amusement park or carnivals bc the impact could potentially hurt their necks/backs. actually, I imagine he's a little paranoid about that stuff in general, like the kids are begging him to go to whatever park is nearby and he's like whyyyy would we go there when we could do puzzles in the comfort and safety of our home! 🥳

So, I'm writing this one shot between Frank and Robby (their final scene but different) and I can't decide..
do I make them in-character (best), but then nothing gets solved and the whole thing ends up the same or worse (bad, but also... good?)
do I make them somewhat out of character (neeeh), so Frank points out all Robby's mistakes (hellz yeah! (totaly biased)) and Robby... um... understands? (does he?). Or he doesn't? He's still upset with Frank? Idek? (idek)
do I make them out of character (imo) (neeeh) and they make up and all is beautiful in the world (good. but also... not?)
Looks like for me, the first option would be the best. Angst with more angst on top of angst. But it was supposed to be more like hurt/comfort. Where's the comfort part? Can I make them reach that headspace where they offer comfort? And still keep them in-character?
Uuuuhhhh... It's a challenge...
( @my-dress-is-on-fire if you available for brainstorming, I would appreciate it ;p or anyone else ;) )

Another duo I want to see in The Pitt s2: Cassie and Langdon.
Like if anyone was perfectly situated to be both understanding and firm with Langdon, it's Cassie. Bc she's been where he's at. She was an addict that needed help and also a wake-up call. She can also relate to him on the level of being a parent just trying to do their best.
Anyway, Cassie as Langdon's mentor in s2 please
