Type: Headcannon. Not proof-read, and done on mobile.

Authors note: tysm to whoever sent the first request!! I hope you like it, it’s my first time writing headcannons for him. Also creds to @strangergraphics-archive for the moon banner

His posture is absolutely HORRENDOUS. Pretty popular headcannon, but it for sure fits him.

He prefers Tea over coffee any day. He’ll have at least 3 cups of tea a day, without fail. Every time he does have it, he uses a pretty big amount of honey too.

Astro has pretty bad narcolepsy. He’ll pass out randomly out of nowhere, no matter the time or occasion. (Drabble below)

Astro and dandy were having a casual conversation while on their way to the kitchen. Dandy turned his back for just one second to check out some commotion, and the next he looks back to see Astro passed out on the floor.

Dandy was worried sick! He did the best he could to make sure Astro was okay. For example, picking him up and setting him down on the closest chair. Dandy was about to go call someone for help, but just minutes later he woke back up and acted like almost nothing happened. (Astro had to explain to him what narcolepsy was when he mentioned he had it)

He bites his nails often whenever he’s nervous/alone, which always leads to most of them being short. Some of them grow a decent amount, before he shuts that down and bites them too.

There’s a little stuffed animal in Astro’s room that he sleeps with every night. He’s grown attached to it, even giving it a name and everything. He keeps it safe and tucked in whenever not sleeping or outside of his bedroom,

Speaking of his room, Dandy made a drawing of him and Astro on a piece of paper, and ever since then it’s been hung up on the wall of his room. He loves when anyone close to him makes little crafts/gifts for him, even if he insists he doesn’t want any.

Under his blanket is a corny pair of sleep shorts. He’s had them since about a year ago, but they still fit him well and he finds them very comfortable. REFUSES to tell anyone though, the design of the shorts is embarrassing.

Boxten caught him sleepwalking in the middle of the night once, and freaked out because he thought Astro was possessed and was gonna attack him. Astro doesn’t sleepwalk often, but it definitely happens from time to time.

Bisexual, but male leaning. He loves em both!!

Astro wears fluffy hello kitty socks with no shame at all. He finds them cute, and even showed them off to dandy.

HORRIBLE liar!!! He can’t lie to anyone without feeling bad, so he’ll end up telling whoever he lied to the truth after a certain amount of time(always apologizes like crazy afterwards)

Unlike goob, Astro has a great memory. Ask him if he remembers anything, and he’ll immediately remember whatever you ask unless it was too long ago.

he’s extremely patient with stubborn kids. Sometimes he can get a bit aggravated if it goes on for too long, but he’ll never show it and is extremely gentle sounding.

He can’t for the life of him figure out modern slang. Some kid told him he was Skibidi, and he thought it was some sort of slur.

He hates the dark. Not the same from dim areas btw, he loves those!! Im talking about pitch black, to the point where you can’t see. That’s why he has a little moon night light next to his bed.

Just a small heads up, if you include shipping you may wanna make it clear that there are ships and what ships are there. A lot of people aren’t comfortable with shipping, especially since I’ve seen people say Joel thinks it’s a bit weird to be shipped with anyone other than Lizzie (needs to be fact checked, this is just what I’m seeing in boat boys comment sections). Maybe consider making the ship stuff a separate section or just telling people in advance (pinned post, bio, anywhere clear works) that it includes shipping so those who don’t like it can walk away.

thank you for the heads up! We’re about to get super rambly and vaguely off topic but we promise all your points get addressed. This is actually a great opportunity to clarify, because I realized I didn’t explain myself particularly clearly, if some one does choose to include shipping, its all going to have to be subtext (as always except for shadowbeans whose alternate ship name I still refuse to use), but that is for non-canon ships. Regardless of how people feel about it, c!Joel and c!Jimmy did in fact kiss in Real Life smp, and c!Joel and c!Sausage did in fact have a child together in esmp2, so we’re not gonna rewrite events. Basically when I say shipping in the context of this zine I mean taking relationships the c!Joel had with other people and creating moments that didn’t necessarily happen but feel plausible for the characters that are able to be interpreted as romantic as well as platonic. Also, everyone’s definition of ship art is different, so the level that I was thinking is pretty mild (and btw I’d like to interject here that this is not me dissing on shipping or ship art love shipping so much that I found a ship called the relation and I never left it, but I also know that people have all sorts of comfort levels with different things so this zine is going to be dry docked but I assure you that out there on my super secret personal blog we are very much lost at sea). Like, to give some examples of what would be okay versus not okay for the zine: kissing is pretty much off limits, honestly mostly because that’s a pretty boring zine piece, there’s nothing going on except the ship, but anything where any sort of romance is up to the interpretation, such as hugging, handholding, spending time with, these are all normal things, but also this can’t be the focus of the piece. Please no one just draw like Joel and someone hugging and call it a day. Implied shipping is allowed to feature in your piece, not be the main focus of it. That’s just not an interesting zine piece. Valid art/writing, still amazing stuff keep sharing it on the internet it’s very interesting, just not in the context of this zine. Anyway, you are correct about not everyone being comfortable with that stuff, so if any piece comes off as really shippy without violating the guidelines we’ll make sure to label it correctly, but also, I should make it clear, I’m really hoping that shipping doesn’t become the focus of this zine. It is a Joel zine, so Joel should remain the focus, and any shipping would be subtextual and not central to the zine. There are many great Joel ships out there with lovely content to consume, but that’s not really the focus of this zine. Also, that aside, if Joel doesn’t want his character (because we are talking about shipping cs here. Cc!Joel is a lovely person, but this zine is going to be in-character. Also while cc!Joel should absolutely be respected in what sort of fan content he wants people making about him, his character is, well, just that: a character. Its like saying you can’t ship two characters from an animated tv show because their irl voice actors aren’t comfortable being shipped. It’s just two different things) shipped with characters who don’t belong to his wife, he should probably stop making his c! kiss all those men. And have children with them. And send them love hearts in the mail. And call them babe. If he did it in canon it’s probably safe to say we’re good having them do it in fan content. But again shipping should be an extremely small part of the zine if it’s there at all and should be subtextual enough that even people who don’t ship can still positively engage with the zine!!! If it needs a warning, it’s probably too shippy.

Personally, I feel like Simon would be Dallas, mostly because if you read the book (which I am basing this whole AU off of mainly) Dallas was described as "the real character of the gang" and Ponyboy liked to draw Dallas when he was in a "dangerous mood" cause he could get his likeness in only a few lines and in the book Dallas had blonde hair and eyes "blue, blazing ice, cold with the hatred of the whole world." And I feel like that lines up almost perfectly with Simon, especially given both of their backstories. Dallas has an extensive record, and while he was still living in New York, he would regularly join in on gang fights and was first ever arrested at the age of ten. But regarding your ask, I would put Gaz in Johnny's place (I'll explain more later.) and the only reason I'm not putting Simon in Johnny Cades place is because with Simon's backstory his mother actually CARED for Simon and that's a big part of his story. In Johnny Cades' backstory, it is both his dad AND his mom who abuse him, and I couldn't mentally put Simon in that place with how much Simon loved his mother before he lost her.

Price would 100% be Dally. Dally in the book is described as having dark brown hair and pale blue-green eyes that have a "determined set to them, like the rest of him" and Soda Pop (who is Dally's younger brother along with Ponyboy) is the only one who teased him. Ponyboy states in the book that he'd "just as soon tease a full-grown grizzly" than pick on Dally, and I feel like that is how the 141 treats Price when he is in Captian mode. Not to mention, I feel like both Price and Dally have that same situation of "they're only hard on you because they care about you." Like it may not seem they care much about the people they consider brothers with how they treat them, but in reality, both Price and Dally care SO MUCH and just want what's best for them and they show that in the best way they know how, by pushing their friends/brothers to be the best that they can be.

The reason I put Gaz in Johnny Cades' place is mainly because both characters have that same feeling of unwavering loyalty to the people who are close to them. Both are young and have everything to prove and everything to lose. In the book, Johnny was "everyone's kid brother" which I personally feel like is the relationship everyone has with Gaz since he is the "youngest" (next to Soap) member of the 141 and was described as looking like "a puppy" which reminds me a lot of how Gaz looks in some of the cutscenes. Both characters would do anything for their friends and look up to them in the way that a little brother looks to the eldest. While I personally don't know if Gaz's backstory lines up with Johnny Cades (if anyone does, please tell me) In my opinion Gaz is the best option in this AU to be in Johnny Cades position. (Minus the dying)

Soap I feel like would be Ponyboy. Both have artistic abilities, and both are extremely smart. Soap with explosives, which can be aligned with chemistry because it IS chemistry, and Ponyboy is described as being extremely smart in school regularly, getting straight A's with a few B's here and there. Both characters are extremely willing to help out where and when they can even if it borders on careless, Ponyboy literally running into a church fire to save a group of schoolchildren. And I feel like Soap is the more compassionate (is that the right word) out of the 141, regularly joking with Simon over coms and just overall less tight when tensions aren't running high. Not to mention, Ponyboy is the second youngest of the Greasers much like how Soap is in the 141. Also in the book Dally is constantly getting onto Ponyboy for "not using his head" and lacking common sense. Which just reminds me of Soap.

I'm still working on if there would be any cameos in this AU as I'm not entirely sure which COD characters would line up best with the rest of The Outsiders characters. But regarding your ask, yes, I would put reader in Cherry's place who has a little more depth in the book and is said to be a spy for the Greasers on what's going on with the Soc's and has some romantic feelings (though never explored) for Dallas (or in this AU, Simon) once she actually gets to know him as who he is. But that's who would be who in this AU based on my own opinions, but I am very open to suggestions since I myself am still working on making this a full fleged AU instead of just a missed opportunity shit post.

This is one of my Ramshackle OCs, she is a 2nd Year and the *Housewarden (shocker). ^*I'm not saying Prefect because calling Yeray 'Vice Prefect' sounds a little weird, plus Ramshackle is a little more populated in my version. ~

For anyone wondering about Tractatori, It's kinda hard to explain them, so the gist of it is they're like Venom, only they're a mysterious entity that's almost like the boogeyman where my OC is from. ^*Yes I know the name is weird, it's Latin, and from my research, means 'manipulator'. Take that with a grain of salt though. ~

scout — thomas awdry billington himself. kind of a smartass, (one of) the youngest of the cast, is involved with much of the story’s surface while lots of other characters are working behind the scenes… also has the highest chance to get a misspelled tattoo of his favorite song

soldier — …..duck? soldier is a huge american nut and that could parallel casa tidmouth’s duck and his great western schtick. though duck’s much smarter than soldier and would read the manuals on how to use a rocket launcher at least eighty times and checking every nook and cranny before firing it. also imagine duck reciting soldier’s speech from his character video

pyro — as much as some of the characters are involved in denpa-esque situations and experience some level of delusion I don’t think there’s anyone that could match pyro’s. hurricane and frankie could fit because of their thing with heat and fire and them being crazy but that’s a bit stretching

demoman — donald and douglas? because they’re scottish and have a knack for jokes? lol ….. I think henry could fit too because both him and demoman gets involved with supernatural occurrences out of their will but they just laugh it off

heavy — maybeeeee gordon. his taunts like “run cowards” “tiny baby man” and them both being the tall big strong guys drew me to this connection. but heavy is more reserved, calculating, and doesn’t boast too much about himself while many of gordon’s accidents came from his own hubris

engineer — victor methinks….. both dell and victor have degrees in engineering and considered the smartest in the cast. also the more amicable ones yet has the ability to lose their patience once in a while. also I literally only drew him once. have to draw him again because he’s like if tf2 engineer is a cuban man and much more sane

medic — either lady or d10. both lady and medic share the same morbid curiosity towards humanity (though lady is milder and more of an observer rather than a doer) and are amicable and polite. both d10 and medic conduct body altering experiments that could put them in the national watchlist and have little to no regard for the safety of people around them. so diesel 10 it is the cheerful and friendly aspects of medic remind me of edward for some reason????? probably the glasses

sniper — cranky. just think about it. perched on something tall. thinks everyone around them is an idiot. just wants to get the job done but also cracks some morbid if not slightly sharp jokes

spy — I’ll say diesel because this comparison has layers upon layers of joke.

What is the main lesson of your story?

i don't really write with then intent of having a lesson in my stories (besides up, maybe), but as i've been developing them certain topics have come up and so here they are untitled project: not letting go will hurt others and mostly yourself cor vitae: loving someone sometimes means letting them go púlsar: killing and oppressing a culture goes beyond the culture itself project:nemesis: sometimes the system is corrupted and you as an individual can't really do much about it even if you try (depressing i know. p:n is very, very depressing) tales from beyond: don't let your childlike wonder die up cv and púlsar are holding hands why is it always about grief man

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding?

most of the times i'll draw something that looks cool and then work it into my stories tbh. i also make sure each story has the One aspect the world revolves around and then collect songs, quotes, images, etc, that remind me of it

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, or help the reader grow as a person?

focusing in one main oc per story: ely (up) wants to stop time from being broken, and i want to achieve so many things with them. i want to talk about trans-ness and grief and letting go, and get the point across that killing your younger self doesn't mean stop loving them aira (cv) wants to find the creature that killed her brother and get revenge. i don't really have anything i want to achieve with them, tho? she gets to be cool and befriend monsters karma (púlsar) wants to heal the island, fulfilling the promise he made to his mom on her deadbed. it wasn't my intention when i wrote him but those that have read him do relate to him, and so hopefully it will give them hope for themselves when he gets better after struggling. a lot enzo (p:n) just wants to have fun cracking codes. unfortunately for him he's in the story to show how life is really unfair. arion (tfb) is solving the crime of his ghost friend :] he's gonna go on adventures and have fun and mature a bit too but without loosing his wonder for life. i love him btw

often it's very discouraging posting in here because you don't get as much engagement as you'd like, and i'm not gonna sit here and say that you can't validate your work by how other's feel about it and that you have to create just for you, because it wouldn't be realistic or true. we are sharing our work for a reason and it's because we want people to engage with the stories we have to tell and be seen through them. so i'll say this: if you don't post them, no one will see them for sure, but if you keep trying, someone might. and that may be worth it

Well it's Lix-goes-insane-time again!

Now, I caught up with S2 of Shangri La Frontier and I'm naturally impatient af for more episodes. Normally I would just go fuck it and start reading the manga and be done with it but because I know myself well and I can actually learn from my mistakes I'm planning on NOT doing that. Because every time I start reading the manga after I finish an anime I just... kinda drop the anime completely cause I lost interest in watching it (since I already know what happens). The only exception of this would be One Piece which I consume in a kinda batshit insane way of constantly playing catch up with both anime and manga.

Anyways since I actually love this anime and want to continue watching it without losing interest, I'm just... gonna read the manga from scratch.

I know this sounds stupid but! I actually checked out the novel translation as well and since I noticed some differences between novel and anime story line (nothing major), I'm gonna try reading the manga while keeping lookout for such differences as well. (I haven't read much but what I did read made it look like the anime is loyal to the manga which i appreciate)

This is not really the insane part btw, the insane part is that I have decided that Sunraku is just gonna be my model from now on and I'm gonna draw him. So often. Until I can finally feel more comfortable drawing bodies or at least his body type lmao. Since he's literally walking around half naked 90 % of the time I feel like this is a good oppurtunity to practice anatomy (because most of the time i just hide bodies with clothing lmao). I'm kind of trying to focus on hands cause that's actually the one thing I recently watched a tutorial on so I will see how that goes.

Hope anyone wants this orrr like needs it orr dreamt of doing this too orrrr just never thought about doing it, but now that a free template is out there, someone might also wanna do it!! I love whenever like- fandom templates and stuff is made. I plan to maybe make this a Toyhou.se code too, since I do have the raw files of the games and could try to see if I can replicate the animations and stuff and make it non-premium and premium!

(Maybe I should make fandom codes more often in general tho at the topic of that, did it before for Terraria and helped out w/ a Monster High code, to give it a mobile compatible version LMAO)

If anyone or me figures out the artists behind the sprites, I'd gladly show them too, bc GORGEOUS GAME MAN!!!!
