i deffo agree with your entire analysis (including the questionable canon of the anime canon) and yeah for sure the original game supports this imo. for one thing i don't think that hanekoma would have supported sho even as a back-up plan if he thought that sho would've destroyed shibuya or fundamentally ruined what HANEKOMA liked about it. hanekoma considered a shibuya under sho to be better than a shibuya erased by joshua, so whatever shibuya sho would've made couldn't have been a dumpsterfire or whatever. like not saying that sho would've kept things squeaky clean or something but hanekoma considered it 'good enough to support'. hanekoma isn't exactly the best but i think that he wouldn't have picked sho if he didn't think that sho had some attachment to shibuya.

in NEO we literally see him come back to his shibuya on W3D7 to fight soul pulvis even though he could've just fucked off. yeah we have the scene of neku "convincing" him, but the dude already came back to shibuya and decided to stay to fight for his city. he also literally warned rindo about soul pulvis and about the presence of angels (the japanese version with him talking about "hyper-real" numbers is even more obvious) back on W3D4 even before neku showed up!

the wicked twisters and all of shibuya would've lost without him and his contribution to operation: awakening. period. (along with everyone else)

he learned his lesson about teamwork! when he goes to another day, he makes a fuss about "you're joining MY team" but he actively walked up to the guy signing up team members and went "hey i need a team lol" like a student asking their teacher for help getting a partner for the group project. he's gone from "not a social animal" per megumi to "zetta dig[ing]" konishi's "style" to teaming up with the WTs to protect them to understanding the value of working together in an equation for the sake of his goals

also it's worth noting that the line about only doing it for his sake is slightly different in jp. neku says that they have to get to shiba as soon as they can and says "渋谷を守るため もし力を 貸してくれるなら――" (if you can lend us your strength to protect shibuya). sho interrupts him and says, "フン、俺は 俺の目的のために 動くだけだ" (hmph, i only work for my own goals/i do want what i want) basically, telling neku to stop telling him what to do. neku says, "���れでいいよ おまえも渋谷を 狙ってただろ" (that's fine, since you're aiming for shibuya too, aren't you?) and then "その渋谷の崩壊は 許せないよな" (shibuya's erase would be unforgivable, right?/you can't allow shibuya to collapse, can you?). so like yeah it's similar to what the english script did but it has a very different implication. here neku isn't convincing him to help but rather being like, "yeah, you'll only do what you want to do, and i know that you're going to do things that help shibuya because you're aiming for it as well." like i said, we literally see sho ALREADY have been offering rindo helpful advice before neku even showed up.

he gives the WTs tons of advice in the first week that have nothing to do with his interest in soul pulvis but rather to expand their powers. in field walk rpg he has a ton of random character dialogue about how he loves random shit in shibuya like the holographic hachiko statue (tokyu plaza) because he thinks that dogs are stylin' or how he thinks that rhythms that shake the heart (specific to him being interested in picking up music records from tower records) are as beautiful as a flawless equation or whatever. why would he want to destroy all of that? he wouldn't

he doesn't even care if other people cart away his artworks! he didn't seethe about that in the og, just made more and then walked away

i agree with him being obsessed with beauty and art and probably shibuya's. i mean the guy wanders around the phone booth of love at molco and shit trying to pick up cool pieces for his next artwork (and leaving something precious of his own in its wake, suggesting that he isn't interested in stealing shit, he just has a unique value system of exchanging items and art and stuff), makes people play Tin Pin Slammer and doesn't even participate himself but just hangs out in the crowd watching and seethes when joshua cheats him out of an interesting match, and possibly even stuck negative noise on ken doi to catch their attention about ramen given that the negative noise in W1 was all mission-related that a reaper must've put on someone (and with their relationship in another day). he's not a "good person" but people treating him like he's evil or sadistic or whatever just pisses me off. he's an arrogant asshole who, as far as we can read from the text, genuinely wants to see a shibuya full of cool art projects and sick murals like the udagawa one he likes and cool people like the WTs with their interesting UG powers and stuff.

Hey there.....it's been a couple months and I live in shame

Thank you so so much for this I absolutely LOVE your thoughts! I wanna try to respond them in as organized a way I can so I'm gonna address each point individually and in chronological order.

First of all, I 100% agree with what you've said about Hanekoma. If he wasn't able to directly remove Joshua from power even when he threatened Shibuya's very existence, and instead had to approach him in an extremely tedious and roundabout manner by guiding Neku when he could and using Sho as a sort of half-proxy, there's no way he would've shoved a dangerous or otherwise incompetent person into the Composer's seat and forced himself to repeat this whole process weeks later once Sho had a grip on Shibuya. Like you said, "hanekoma considered a shibuya under sho to be better than a shibuya erased by joshua," and that means something coming from a person who belongs to a class of beings who willingly "purify" cities that do not live up to their standards. It's not impossible to think that if Hanekoma thought Sho unfit and saw no other alternative, he would've come to see Shibuya as a lost cause and let it fall, preferring a dignified end over allowing it to rot and fester as a shell of its former self. Granted, he doesn't exactly sing Sho's praises. He certainly seems to view him as being convenient over an actual good candidate for the position. However, regardless of the fact that Hanekoma's criteria seems to be "the biggest, most unlikable freak in the UG," I think my previous point still stands. Would Sho have been a good Composer? Impossible to know for sure, but if nothing else we can extrapolate from what we understand of Hanekoma's values that he would've at the very least safeguarded Shibuya against erasure and kept it intact enough to still be worthy of existence in the eyes of some very, very picky Angels. And this is saying something when Joshua refers to Shibuya as being a massive influence on the world around it, so much so that he fears it corrupting other sectors of the UG. To put it simply, maybe Sho just passed the bar when it came to Hanekoma's standards, but that bar was set extremely high. Also! Just in case anyone mentions it, while Hanekoma saying that he relied on Sho's attachment to Shibuya is exclusive to the anime, technically speaking it's canonical that NEO is a sequel to the anime rather than the game. It's still very much relevant to Sho's character in NEO, if not his character in the original game...

Which leads right into your next points! Just for a moment, I want to jump to what you said about the japanese version of the game because I find it extremely interesting. That's SUCH a different implication from what we get in the english version!! Whereas we're given more of a sense that Neku is corralling Sho into working with him and the rest of the Wicked Twisters on the basis that he can't be Composer without a city to rule, basically using his preexisting goal to try to get him to adopt a new one, that of saving Shibuya, here he's saying that he knows that Sho already has a goal of saving Shibuya. It's less "Look here asshole, you have to save Shibuya because you can't be Composer without it," and more "You and I both know that you want to save Shibuya, so stop being so stubborn and help us out already!" Yes it's subtle, but personally I think it lines up better with the version of Sho that's put forward by the anime's ending, and, perhaps more importantly, lends better to interpretations of Sho's motivations In english, it reads closer to "Sho wants to be the Composer -> therefore he must save Shibuya. In japanese, it can more easily be read as "Sho wants to save Shibuya -> Ergo, he clearly cares about Shibuya -> Sho wants to be the Composer because he cares about Shibuya. Again, it's minor stuff, but the japanese version, I feel, more obviously connects his motives with his actions, presenting him helping to save Shibuya as a natural result of his affection for the city instead of it being an obstacle in his way or a diversion from his ambitions. It's really a shame that this nuance is lost in the english version. Sho is already kind of a mess in the fact that it can be difficult to discern what the writers are trying to do with him. He's built up as a persistent and deadly threat all throughout twewy only to be unceremoniously killed off in a scene that feels more like a bit than an actual serious story beat. Neo's promotional material paraded him as a core character in the protagonist's group, and yet he ends up being booted out 1/3 of the way into the story and made unplayable until post-game. He is one of the most integral characters to the plot, and yet what, in the end, does he have to show for it? Nothing! He leaves the secret ending having returned to the exact same position he was in at the start of the first game, at the exact same level of power, still gunning to take on the Composer. It feels like he's being used as sequel-bait in a series where it took 14 years to make another game, not to mention the fact that the last time something interesting was implied to be happening to him, A.K.A A New Day where he was positioned to become Neku's partner, that plot thread was dropped hard and absolutely nothing came of it. I'm not saying he's been completely abandoned by the narrative. He's definitely shown to have improved as a person since the events of the first game, and I love that! I love his cryptic mentor/moderately shit big brother arc and the fact that Neku, Mr. Twewy himself, is willing to put his faith in him. But to me at least it feels like he's being underutilized, especially in comparison to characters like Beat, who I love, but who certainly didn't need as much as he got in neo given that he had a totally satisfactory arc by the end of the first twewy. Sho is perfect for a redemption arc that's reminiscent of Neku's while still being unique and complex, one that would fit seamlessly with twewy's themes of growth and the necessity of human connection. If we ever get another twewy game and this is exactly what happens I will kiss neo on the lips for being the PERFECT in-between phase and kick-off for this arc, but I mean...it's twewy. Waiting for another game to complete his storyline is like pushing Sho off a cliff with nothing to catch him but a prayer and the world's shittiest little kiddy pool. Also the hose that's trying to fill it with water is clogged by a giant knot in the shape of mickey mouse ears.

But I've gotten sidetracked. Mostly because it's been so long that I totally forget the post that spurred this ask in the first place. I might be stupid. But honestly I think you've already put it perfectly. I'm especially grateful for the info on the field walk rpg because it's something I know very little about. I'm glad Sho got to have a fun day out with his child soldiers/teenage besties :] Overall, it's absolutely true that Sho is a very morally complex character. I tend to dislike labels like "good person" vs "bad person" because it leaves little room for nuance, something that this series is chock-block full of. The idea that Sho is an utterly selfish and sadistic individual who can never truly change irks me because it's so antithetical to the messages of this series, "Anyone can change for the better," and, "By letting others in, approaching their different worldviews and values with genuine, good faith, and by extending compassion towards each other, we make the world a better place for both ourselves and the people around us." Sho is doing this. It may be with baby steps, but it's clear from his interactions with the Wicked Twisters, as well as his enthusiasm for art that is not his own whereas before he expressed disdain for any artistic vision that wasn't his, that he is making an effort to be better and allowing these experiences to change his worldview. If he is never extended the same narrative reward that other characters are shown for this exact same kind of growth, if he is instead trapped in this cycle of scratching and clawing and desperately yearning for some sense of divinity only to crash fantastically, met with violence and isolation and the loss of the few, good things he's managed to scrape out of life...well that'd be pretty miserable, I think.

It is so ridiculous that over on Twitter that I am seeing people who want Franco Colapinto to replace Logan. It’s to the point where it’s trending.

So your telling me people actually want Williams to pull up an unprepared rookie from f2 with little to no time in an f1 car just because of what happen with Logan in the fp3 of the Dutch GP? Also it’s said that Colapinto would come with significant sponsorship backing. But news flash people so dose Logan and beside I would hate for another unprepared rookie to get thrown in the car, besides wouldn’t that sound a bit to familiar to the current diver in the car??? Also if Williams were to do that what’s happens if Franco were to crash because he’s not use to the way the Williams car works? So at this point they should just let Logan finish the dam season as there is only 9 races left and then williams and Logan can part ways and never have to see each other again..

Also at this point I’m so sick of vowels doing this when Logan does something he doesn’t like because how much will he keep threatening and holding this “im gonna mid season swap you” over Logan head? Also where is the professionalism in all this and it not like breaking a contract is that easy because I’m sure there’s a process. as your days in the beach progressed- kuina and chishiya have become your main sources of companionship, though you realize there’s quite a long way to go before you could be true friends. individually , it’s obvious you each have your own walls up- but it doesn’t stop kuina from encouraging you to join the carefree attitude that rampages through the beach. at night, she drops jokes about getting you a one-night stand with some of the (very) eager beach members- to which you scowl and shove her slightly as she chuckles. you can tell she’s a bit serious though. you decide to confide in another short glass of liquor instead- immersing yourself into the busy party scene outside as you lay back in a chair. kuina kicks off her flip flops- sighing as she rolls her shoulders back, mumbling something to you.

“what was that?”

she flinches a bit, but speaks again hesitantly “i just remembered chishiya wanted to speak to you..”

you nod, handing her your drink- and looking for your coverup, which you have found has landed somewhere in the middle of the pool.

“ugh.” you decide you’ll just head to your room after talking with chishiya, thanking kuina for letting you know

“where exactly am i going?” you say- and kuina puts her finger up to signal ‘wait a second’ as she downs the rest of your drink.

“conference room on your floor.” you begin to lazily walk over to the room

chishiya is getting annoyed.

he’s been waiting for over an hour since kuina left the room- claiming she would retrieve you. it’s past midnight now and he knows his time could be better spent fixing up his bootlegged weapons in his personal room. he’s irritated- and just begins packing up the book in his hands and unraveling his headphones. it’s as he puts the earbuds in- that the door cracks open, with a “chishiya?” as quiet as the wind.

he can feel his ear twitch- and he views you from the corner of his eye, smoothly turning as he returns his earbuds back to his pocket, slyly smiling at you.

“well it’s about time. were you just avoiding me? he jests, but you worry he secretly may have gotten such an intention and quickly speak to clear the air.

“w-what? no of course not- kuina was with me downstairs i was just trying t-“ he’s walked up to you now, eyeing you from under his dark lashes and smudged liner and cuts you off

“im just joking.” once he sees you take a breath of relief- he gets to the point. “i wanted to talk to you about the beach. do you like it here, truthfully?” this intrigues you, afterall- chishiya himself brought you to the community. you scrunch your brows- and he watches you process his question.

“i guess i dont mind it too much… but” you pause, and he notices the slightest quickening of your breath- eyes flickering to your chest.

“i dont like living… with all this anxiety about the militia… they all seem like they’ll snap at any moment” you speak lowly- as though the party downstairs could hear the treacherous words you exchange with chishiya. he hums, looking back up at your face with intensity.

“i’m going to leave the beach.”

his words threaten a gasp from you- this is traitor speech, punishable by every idea of torture hatter has ever thought of. “chishiya- what? how would you even pull that off- alive at that!” you whisper yell to him, and he has already turned his back to you to collect his things- ignoring your protests slightly.

“dont act like you wouldn’t join me.”

his words cause a silence.

its almost too intimate now, and despite you only knowing chishiya shortly- it ignites a fire of adrenaline inside of your bones as he watches you from his crouched place.

you try to talk- but he beats you to it. “kuina has already begun preparations.”

you blink for a second or two- wiping off the frazzled expression that sat there previously, realizing once again that there was a different person who actually conspired and knew chishiya better than you did. you bite your tongue, and just nod a bit ashamed.

“okay.”

“okay?”

“okay… tell me what’s the plan.”

chishiya feels a sour taste in his mouth- despite his clear joy on his usually stoic face at your reply.

he explains to you his elaborate idea- but you feel a sickening sense that he’s not telling you everything there is to know. and thats because he isn’t telling you it all. not even kuina knows he’s luring you into his own personal trap- you’ll be the one to investigate hatter’s personal room and get the cards. but chishiya knows better than to tell you it all, and decides its better not to dwell on the ‘what ifs’ of the plan.

its quiet- you can hardly process what he’s telling you, and you can feel the heavy pressure of the moment aggressively sit ontop of your shoulders while he observes your blank expression.

“where…” you begin but stop

“what is it?”

something about the question you wish to ask feels as though it crosses a boundary, you are barely acquaintances- yet it feels as though chishiya has been the one holding your hand throughout your life in the new world.

you clear your throat. “where would we go?”

he seems a bit shocked, and you know he understands your internal turmoil and hesitance towards asking the question. to chishiya, kuina and him would most likely have split- possibly meeting again during sporadic games. but the “we” implies you want to stick by him- and he admits, he wants to encourage the idea of that more than he’d like.

again- you feel the intimacy of being alone with chishiya, quiet exchanges in the dim lighting. chishiyas conflicted- but he decides not to relish on the idea that there would be a chance to get to know you better. his whole idea banks on you risking your life- even if you meet your end a bit too early. he feels nauseous, and suddenly can see every hair and pore on your arms- his eyes dilate and scan over your frame that is completed with a short frown. he doesnt lose notice on how you’ve found comfort in digging your fingers into the plush chair beside you in the middle of the room- and how he can feel his adams apple bump dryly against the rest of his throat.

“i dont know.”

the answer isnt truly good enough for you, because you know chishiya is random- and goes with the wind. but you also know he’s a planner, and if you’re supposedly a vital part of this- he would know the aftermath.

it makes you sick, but you tell him quietly that you agree to join him.

afterwards, you wash up- careful to treat your injury with grace, remembering chishiya’s guidance for recovery. faintly in your mind, you still feel his fingers dancing on your leg- eliciting sparks of joy between you both. normally, you’d feel stiff and disgusted, but the memory has a sort of fondness you would never think to associate with chishiya.

for him however, you’re beginning to be his own personal catalyst. chishiya cannot handle the variables you bring to the table- your support is an asset, but is starting to be his weakness. kuina and him are strictly business- sure they provide the other with company, but it is all surface level. however, with you- chishiya isn’t sure how to process your presence. hes bubbling over with guilt- but he cant help his admiration for you, it overwhelms him.

since that night, you’ve experienced another game- enduring a 2 hour agonizing experience with gross eyes on you from perverts, and sleek eyes and glasses from the #2 at the beach. only 4 survived out of 9- and you can feel burn marks and scratches coloring your body- one resting just beside your nose. that night, you properly met arisu- and reunited with the king hearted girl who calmed you after your game together, usagi. you didnt fail to notice how chishiya lingered his gaze on arisu- even from his high perch on the floor above the hallway you stood in with the two.

unbeknownst to you however- he stares at you longer. wondering if you’ve caught on with the way you’ve distanced from him slightly. he doesn’t like it, and he can’t risk that you’ve lost interest in committing to his plans. he decides to swiftly go downstairs to intervene the group of three beneath him, greeting them with a playful wave as he assumes a position beside you- causing your goosebumps to rise.

arisu continues to speak shyly and stiffly- enjoying when usagi controls the conversation that flows between you all. at some point- usagi catches on to the fact that chishiya does not actually want to speak to the entire group- but rather just you. with this- she just awkwardly laughs and bids you farewell

“oh i dont wanna keep you long- plus arisu and i need some food and just… look around here you know?” she says- and you agree

“oh of course! i’m sorry if you were trying to leave earlier- i get ahead of myself sometimes.” she just giggles before telling you it’s no problem- and soon after, she’s halfway down the hall with arisu on her tail.

it takes him a minute to say something in the silent hall, but chishiya turns to you smoothly “wanna walk around?”

you’re honestly bored- and up until recently, you’ve enjoyed your conversations with the blonde. he guides you back up the stairs- where the music gets almost fully silenced, and waits for you to initiate a conversation.

but you never do

and chishiya is starting to feel a bit on edge, frankly a bit awkward. the feeling is foreign to him- his mind has run rampant thinking about your last discussion.

you carry on- walking on the seemingly never ending staircase and ignoring the way chishiya’s back is overly straightened.

“what’s up?” you say, much to his relief. he stops, leaning against the wall of the staircase as you halt your steps. “are you having doubts?”

you can feel your brows scrunching at his question, and though you feel nausea whenever you think about betraying the beach- you cant bring yourself to admit it to chishiya.

“no. why would i?”

“youre lying to me.” hes quick, and sharp- and it makes your breathing cut short.

“im not”

“youre lying again.”

a beat passes, and then another. then you reply

“we’re down to almost no games, its been too quiet here. somethings wrong.” you’re deflecting, he knows it.

“and?”

“and,” you can hardly breathe “i know you’re lying to me.”

chishiya doesn’t miss the way your eyes plead with him, begging him to say ‘of course not! i would never do that to you’. but chishiya knows he can’t say those words, not to you.

so he makes a different decision- to him, this is the only way he can feel at ease.

“i don’t want you participating in this anymore.”

now you’re confused, wasn’t he just adamant about being involved in this together? “chishiya-“

“i think it would be better for us all if we limited our interactions. i have to focus on perfecting details, i cant have you getting in my way.” he speaks harshly. you can feel something inside of you getting rotten, molding and making you sick when you look at chishiya- who now gazes at you dismissively.

watching you, he knows he has potentially made an incredible mistake- but he doesn’t want to risk you if you were to die to the hands of the militants. he has seen arisu perform in complex scenarios, analyzing his problem solving skills and reaction time- and he has no issue with recruiting him as your replacement.

but he has an issue with the way you’re beginning to pale, and how your eyes shift to darkness as you look at him differently within seconds of him speaking.

“can i ask why?”

he doesn’t even know what he can scrape up as an excuse

“did i, cross a line with you?” you say, and your voice seems so small he could confuse it for a distant bird song.

“no” he speaks- sharing the same quiet and frail tone as you.

its so unlike him

“then why are you making such a haste decision i dont get it..!” despite your loud tone, chishiya doesnt flinch- rather he briefly looks at the surroundings before continuing

“it’s not haste. i should’ve never told you about this in the first pla-“

“why? so you could just leave me here while you and kuina get to run off into the sunset?”

“what does that even mean.”

“it means you don’t care if i were to die! it wouldn’t matter to you because you’d just shrug it off and go be a smartass somewhere else.”

he just looks at you solemnly while you come back to earth from your heated reply

“of course i would care.”

its simple, but it hits so hard

“then why are you pushing me away?”

“because arisu is better suited for this than you could be.”

you back up slightly, shuddering when you feel the cool wall

“i see.”

he shoves his hands into his pocket, gripping onto the lining to stabilize the trembling

“this is merely strategy. hes sharp. quiet, and he has some connections that i can use to our advantage.” somehow you know, when chishiya says ‘our’, he is not referring to you and him

you just nod, and finally accept the truth he serves to you.

“i hope you’re making the right decision chishiya.”

he feels his breath quicken while he walks downstairs past your silent figure- needing his room to expose his panic in isolation.

day 3 ~ a picture of my fav. thinspo

i LOVE LOVE LOVE this thinspo and any thinspo like it. when people take the picture from the side and you can genuinely see how skinny and flat their stomachs are 😍 i also LOVE any thinspo where you can see somebody's collarbones/neck/shoulders (so like upper body thinspo i guess??) and you can see how skinny they are

day 4 ~ biggest fear about weight loss

i'm terrified that people will catch on to my ED. recovery sounds absolutely terrifying. speaking of recovery, i'm also terrified of recovering, as well as dying from starving myself (dramatic, i know), and people just never noticing my progress.

day 5 ~ why do i want to lose weight

partially to prove people wrong and partially to gain control. i know people think im fat and i want to prove them wrong. i also have ocd and i want control, so if i cant control anything else in my life, i know i can control my food and my weight.

day 6 ~ do i binge and why?

i only "binge" when people catch onto me. my last few binges were because my mom pointed out my unhealthy rate of weight loss and that i havent been eating and i was so scared she'd try to make me recover or she'd fully realize i have an ED. most of my binges are still 1000 cals max, usually less, but since my normal cal count is around 300 thats a LOT for me.

day 7 ~ do my parents know im losing weight?

im pretty sure my mom has caught on, but im pretty sure i've been able to mostly avoid anymore suspicions since she hasnt brought it up in a few weeks.

day 8 ~ my workout routine

it's normally crunches, lots of walking/steps, and also marching band. i play snare drum in my school's marching band and band practice alone burns so many cals that i dont have to worry too much about workouts.

day 9 ~ did people ever make negative comments about my weight?

yes, a good bit. people in band said i'd be the "prettiest girl if i would just lose weight" and my ex boyfriend used to constantly bring up what he thought about my weight and the fact that he wanted me to go to the gym more. he claimed he didnt care about my weight, but it was obvious he did by the amount of times he'd bring it up.

day 10 ~ what was the hardest thing i gave up during weight loss?

mostly just eating whenever and whatever i wanted. i gave up a lot of my few safe foods for weight loss. also due to my ocd, i cant eat a lot of foods and i had to give up so many of my okay foods because they were too high cal.

day 11 ~ fav. thinspo blog and why

i dont really have a favorite, i mostly just save whatever random thinspo i really really love that i see on my feed. i will say i LOVE @honeysugarfree's diets and anybody who sees this should totally go look at them. it makes things a lot easier to get into a character (if that makes sense??) and the diets on their blog makes things SO much easier.

12. do you outline your fics?  if yes, how detailed are your outlines?  how far do you stray from them?

i try to lmfaoooo!!!! for opddmh for example, ive got the basic outline of how i want everybodys arcs to end, the climax of the story, and a vague idea of a few of the plot beats all written out in an empty discord server i use to keep track of things!! i also put in loose scraps of dialogues i daydream up even if im not quite sure where theyll fit in yet, just so if im really stuck i can scroll through and see if anything rings a bell!! there are QUITE a few emotional scenes already written out and ready to go

nothing is super detailed tho!! quite a bit of it is still on a chapter to chapter basis. while i have an outline its not always set in stone, for example there were a LOT of scenes i had scribbled down for odietlg and lgowab that didnt make the final cut!! i dont have the notes for odietlg but i do have them for lgowab bc theyre archived in that empty discord server i mentioned earlier lol. one idea from that story that got scrapped were all of the different endings coming from different peoples point of views (for example korekiyos pov, tenkos pov, kaedes pov) but that got scrapped bc i thought itd lessen the impact a bit. ALSO in one of the earlier drafts of lgowab a LOT more v3 kids were gonna be ahl members including tenko, but i thought it was more important to keep their numbers down to really emphasise how much danganronpa is dramatising their threat level lol! off the top of my head there were bits and pieces i scrapped from odietlg too but i wont go on and on about that LOLOL

oh and also there is an entire channel dedicated to miu that i still go back to sometimes LMFAOO

13. do you listen to music while you write?  if yes, what have you been listening to recently?

oh my god i cant listen to music while i write LMFAOO or at least not music with lyrics. if i really really need to write i will pull myself up by my pants sit down at my desk and stare at my screen in total silence until eventually my adhd meds wear off and i go to sleep

24. how do you choose whose POV to write in?

i choose based on who i think will tell an interesting story! going to be flat out honest with you, sometimes the povs i write from arent my favorite characters, but i think that their personal story would be a really good fit in what im trying to convey! tenko is probably one of the only exceptions considering the entire story is based around her surviving LMFAO even then that was mostly because i wanted to dissect her under a microscope for 42 chapters. emma and maki are like this too considering mask of my own face/run from your demons are oneshots :]

himiko and miu got chosen for lgowab mostly based on the fact that they had completely different stories to tell and i didnt want to choose two protags who were going through the same thing!! himiko strived for selflessness while miu struggled with morality and paranoia and i thought they would contrast well :] and oh my god let me tell you i did not expect to bring miu back for a whole other fic but i got ATTACHED shes such a mess.

everybody in opddmh were selected because they brought a range of different lifestyles/coping mechanisms to a post-game universe and they all have stories i wanted to explore!! makoto and being the poster child for hope and struggling with how others perceive him, mikans debate with her own morality and growing bitterness towards the company, and then of course akanes total refusal to be worried at all costs. byakuyas brief povs are to supply a more pessimistic view of their situation that parallels miu, which is why theyre always together during it. ive mentioned this in another ask from kozuelovemail but the v3 kids that stay alongside each pov were selected because they parallel the older participants in some way!!

and then of course. probably goes without saying but i do tend to choose female povs lmfaooo not only because I Am One but also because theyre just soooo criminally unexplored

25. what’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?

well i can say its NOT editing LMFAOOOO this bitch does not edit!!!!!!!!!!!!! which you can probably tell!!!! i mean i give it a good glance and then send it off usually a lot of the edits are made when i wake up in the morning read over the chapter again and go "what the hell was i trying to say here"

brainstorming maybe???? i love Thinking. a lot of the times stories come to me in various scenes rather than one linear storyline and ive gotta grab them all from inside my head and mash them together. i also love brainstorming characters arcs and what their Deal is gonna be throughout it

and then writing of course. love writing. ive had to teach myself to kinda just type out a draft at first and to stop going back to edit, and then once i finish i go back and add extra or remove anything that sounds silly. writing on a good day is lots of fun!!!! ESPECIALLY when its scenes that im excited for/are high drama. like. those high drama scenes that ive been waiting to get down onto google docs dot com...... hell yea

26. what’s your least favorite part of the writing process?

PFFT WHOOPS already answered probably editing! its difficult for me to sit there and read over everything meticulously cuz my brain just does not want to thoroughly go through something especially if ive just completed it. which. most of the time as soon as i complete it and have gone back to add in extra/remove the silly bits i consider it done and i send it through LMFAO. thats on me for updating weekly tho!!! there are gonna be mistakes!!!!!!!!!! and yknow what ive learned to live with that this is a fanfiction i write for fun and i do this cuz i love writing :]

29. what’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?

hgfdjkgshdk i always feel so bad like. praising my writing yknow? theres always going to be parts of it id change or want to go back on but if i had to choose something id probably say the characterisation? i try to put in a lot of effort in making these people feel more human and not as "larger than life" as they usually are, and i want every pov i write from to have flaws and things theyre good at and little quirks that make each of them stand out from each other. when i write characters i try to keep in mind the little things about them, like himiko twitching her nose or mikan having acne shes self conscious about, miu twirling her hair or makoto using novelty mugs instead of the more aesthetically pleasing ones. just tiny things that round them out as people :]

43. is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?

ouhghggh..... not sure! im so so focused on opddmh rn if i think about anything else ill totally spiral away from it (im already doing that with the rp im in LMFAOOOO erin on the brain). there are a few things im excited to write for but thatd be spoiling >:)

I got sick and didnt feel like watching dsmp so I just watched a bunch of random movies I found on my german piracy site of choice for almost a week but now Im better and Im about to watch Eryns origin story and idk man, I just felt like sharing my thoughts about that guy so far

First of all, Im so curious about this concept of any dsmp character having an origin story bc its like. their origin story is that they showed up. thats it. Like yeah, a lot of people very obviously have histories going back to before they showed up on the smp but theyre never really elaborated upon. Niki and Wilbur would kill for eachother with no hesitation, no explaination needed, stuff like that

Also, Im curious about some of the demon lore we'll potentially get bc like, demons arent a thing in minecraft the way slimes or endermen are but Eryn said he is one and also actually confirmed that BBH is one as well (I think he did anyway, I know its been popular fanon for a while but I dont remember it being brought up in canon before he said it), so Im curious how theyre gonna be integrated. My prediction is that theyre basically just gonna be like, the nether-equivalent of humans. Like, in the overworld the humans (or player characters ig) are the only sapient creatures and in the nether its demons.

But thats general lore stuff, now I wanna talk about my guy Eryn !!!! :D

I like him so much and idek why. Hes just a fun guy a fun lil guy I love him :D

I guess the best way to describe it would be like, Im very charmed by him. I love that hes like, this edgy-lookin ninja guy who likes to cause trouble, hes really the chaotic teenage boy this server has been missing ever since every other teenage boy has either been horrifically traumatized or is Purpled. I also like that, despite him being this chaotic teen boy who does what he wants, he seems to very sincerely admire Eret and listens to them for some reason ?? I say 'for some reason' because Eret has kinda been old news for a long time, like the fact that theyre a king doesnt mean anything because actual governments just kinda stopped mattering to everyone except for Wilbur and Quackity, but that honestly just makes it more charming. Eryn and Erets entire dynamic is just so good idk why, but its so comfy and chill in a way where you can tell theyre still just aquaintances but its still so nice yknow. This kinda ties into my previous point as well, I really like how he put a shit ton of effort into getting good knight armor and honestly really wants to be a knight while also demonstrating that hes willing and able to like, steal shit from the prison

Another thing that I find really interesting is his complete and utter lack of connection or interaction with Dream. Like, he arrived after Dream had long been in prison and while he left an undeniable impact on literally everything in the server, no one really. talked about it? Eryn seemingly had to go out of his way to get any kind of information because when Dream was still locked up everyone was all like "welp, the big badscary villain man is gone, and we're all safe so we dont have to worry about him anymore and we'd rather not talk or think about him lest we spoil everyones good mood" and then when he escaped they were all like "oh no, we're already feeling so anxious and bad bc we dont know where he is so we'd rather not talk about him lest we make everyone feel even worse when everything is already so terrible". His mindset is that Dream hasnt harmed him personally and hes never really interacted with him so he doesnt really have an opinion on him, which is very interesting as well. On one hand, it seems a bit naive to think that way when literally everyone keeps telling him how horrible that guy is, but also, while none of the conflicts on the dream smp have ever been caused by mob mentality, they have certainly been exercabated by it, so i guess its better to have less of it

I do have mixed feelings about that though. I feel like I'd need to see Eryn interact with Dream in order to really form an opinion on that and I feel like they might actually do that. Like, Eryn is Tommys friend and I think if Dream somehow found out that he doesnt have any negative feelings towards him on the basis of "he hasnt harmed me personally", he would definitely try to exploit that and I think that could be really interesting. If that doesnt happen in canon I might write an AU about it, probably not straight up villain!Eryn but maybe leaning more towards chaotic neutral idk

Ok reblogging and adding on cuz i thought i could just post a little paragraph comment in response...but I spent like 30 minutes prattling away on my keyboard lol.

The fact that people will push this narrative based off of small things like Casca not pushing Griffith away is so freaky. Like yeah its fiction, and I dont believe in the whole fiction to IRL pipeline on a grand scale. Obviously your feelings towards something in fiction and reality can be very different. But I do worry like…I hope this isn't a mindset people carry with them in general. These are fairly realistic depictions of these topics and to see people respond to them like this is concerning.

Casca not pushing Griffith away reads so clearly like shock to me. This is someone she loves, someone she looks up to, and held on this high pedestal for YEARS. And suddenly he's on top of her trying to assault her. Years of thinking he's this near godly upstanding guy shattered in one moment. I feel like a lot of people would freeze in a scenario like that. He literally saved her from an attempted assault, just to turn around and do exactly that to her..

You're fighting in your mind between the before and after of this person. All those good memories and feelings, but now there's this...

There's literally a word to explain this. It's Fight or Flight? Hello? Not everyone's gonna respond to a dangerous situation with violence, especially when it's someone you care for. Someone who's never shown any intent to harm you before.

(and excuse me for this next tangent, I know I'm reaching a bit and even I keep repeating to myself "these arent real people" but hey this is tumblr)

I'd also argue that Casca is still a woman in a world that very clearly puts them in submissive subjective roles. She may be a mercenary, and second in command in this ragtag group. But I don't think that negates her upbringing, and what she sees on the daily. Obviously we don't get much info on her early childhood before the Band of the Hawks. But we know one thing. She was sold, one of her first major defining moments is being sold by the family that raised her. Being abandoned and left to the whims of a man that can do whatever with her. And as we see in the manga he does attempt to assault her until Griffith saves her.

But even then, despite her rank she's still subject to the fact that shes a woman in a very patriarchal violent society. For example, I think about Griffith commanding her to lay with Guts to warm him when he first shows up. Sure on a meta level, thats def just sex appeal to get the presumably straight male reader inticed. Ohh, sexy woman next to me and shes naked??!! But in the context of the story, I feel like that shows that she's still in that submissive role. Obviously it makes sense to follow the commands of your LEADER, but that scenarios so extreme and humiliating! And yet she still does it.

I could pick a few more examples, but I bring those up to say, she's still conditioned somewhat to be at the whim of the men around her, and I'd say, just like how it is in the real world, that probably factors into her reaction as well. She's in a world where people like her are play things regardless of their status. Even if she's in a position to fight back, it's brought up time and time again. She's targeted, or threatened with assault verbally. She's conditioned to it, and that may make you think at some point that "yeah that's just how it is". SO sadly, you dont freak out and rightfully lash out at your assaulter when 1. its your friend/crush/superior and 2. on a subconscious level, you know where you stand in society. ( i feel like im not explaining this as well as I want but I'm stumped on what to elaborate on so please excuse me if something sounds not right)

And like you said, so many women IRL have gone through terrible situations and put up with it cuz "he's xyz to me". Even on a smaller scale I think anyone can relate to letting someone do something you don't like but you let them cuz you like them, or theyre youre friend, or partner. Only to realize after that, oh...that wasn't cool. Like you let shit slide when you know people, and even more when you love them!

Sorry I'm gonna get mean here, but not everythings scum of the pot hentai with a women yelling no but meaning yes. Most people mean No, and Stop when they say it.

was the wagon scene in berserk sexual assault?

i mean whatever lol. im ngl in some ways this feels like making a whole ass meta post about whether or not "casca enjoyed it." like do i even need to take this perspective seriously? yeah, yeah, i know, that's a pretty inflammatory thing to say, and a lot of the people who i've seen say the scene is NOT assault don't deserve to be belittled like that.

i think it's possible, and very interesting, to discuss the nuances of the scene. what was griffith's intention in that moment? why didn't casca bring up what happened to guts when he asked? how does this contradict or supplement what we already know about their characters?

per usual, though, most of the discussion of the scene itself put very little thought into one of the TWO main participants - casca. so let's do that, i guess, and look at the scene on the whole.

CW, i will show one eclipse panel (the kiss) in this meta, but that's is

what happens before?

the scene in the wagon comes immediately after the band of the hawk's encounter with wylad. wylad has thoroughly humiliated griffith in front of the entire band of the hawk, told them that griffith is totally defeated and broken, and tried to rape casca while griffith struggled uselessly, unable to help at all.

the band is regrouping afterward, and the reality of griffith's situation is sinking in to the members of the band. we don't know for sure if griffith can hear this, but the band is even discussing whether it makes sense for casca to permanently become the band's leader. where would that leave griffith? a burden, helpless, unable to even lead his own men.

griffith can, however, overhear casca talking to guts just a moment later. she says guts isn't reliant on griffith's dream, and griffith through the wagon can easily see their closeness.

at this point, casca goes to griffith in the wagon.

so where is griffith? his men, who despite his capture have been sustained by his dream, are losing their faith in him because wylad showed how utterly powerless he is. meanwhile, guts is touching casca in an intimate, close way. he feels like everything is slipping through his fingers, even his particular place of importance for guts. he's lost guts to casca. i would argue this piece, seeing casca intimate with guts, changes his mindset even compared to where he was during the scene with wylad.

where is casca? she's still clinging to that hopeless dream. she was so lonely as the commander of the band of the hawk, trying to face the reality of griffith's injuries and the overwhelming way that their roles have been reversed. she's leaning on guts, on anyone, for support for the first time, while being forced to put on a brave face not just for the whole band of the hawk, but for her idol and savior.

what happens during the scene?

casca is changing griffith's bandages. she knocks over a bowl of water, and when she goes to leave the wagon to replace it, griffith grabs her, and... well, that's kind of the whole crux of this meta, isn't it?

griffith forces himself on top of her. the question is why, and what's his intention? that's been discussed a lot on tumblr. the other question is: what does casca think his intention is, and how does she take it?

there is a lot of visual language in the scene that, to me, clearly indicates sexual intentions from griffith, and clearly indicates that's how casca takes his intentions.

side note, i think griffith is crying in the above panel. could be sweat, could be tears... it's subtle enough to leave it up to interpretation.

that last panel in particular is EXACTLY paralleled with the kiss panel during the eclipse. the helmet, the direct eye contact, the pose... miura has always been very intentional with his parallels and his paneling, so i doubt this was an accident. the eclipse panel is just below, btw. scroll quick if u dont wanna see

this is also how griffith and charlotte's sex scene started.

the wagon scene and the sex scene with charlotte happen because griffith is doing something rash purely on emotion after feeling stripped of all power and no longer in control of a situation. it's not as simple as griffith being an evil rapist from the start, but you can easily see a pattern of him lashing out and trying to regain control through pushy/coercive sex with women. would griffith do this kind of thing normally? no, of course not. but nothing about the situations he's at these points in the manga are "normal," and again there is a pattern of him lashing out and using women as an outlet for his feeling out of control. they ALSO both happen because he feels like he's losing guts.

casca tells griffith to stop, and griffith does stop, but it's not clear to me if he stops intentionally, or if he simply is physically incapable of continuing. i've seen the idea put forward that griffith is terrified that guts and casca are going to abandon him, and so he offers his body as the only thing he has left in a fit of desperation. i'm not opposed to that being part of it - griffith has used his body and sex as an offering before, with gennon.

this is how griffith is looking at casca during the scene:

one is normal and even wistful and sad, the other is...... fucking batshit LOL put those damn things away!!!! blue eyes white demon

one thing, though, that i want to say very clearly: griffith may have offered himself sexually to casca out of desperation, but it is very clear to me that casca did not want it. griffith fully forced himself on top of her, too, with his arms wrapped around her. if it was unwanted and forced sexual contact, regardless of why griffith did it or how much of a woobie he is to u, that is BY DEFINITION sexual assault.

this is the part that kind of drives me crazy. i don't personally believe that this was an act of self-loathing or self harm, like take my body because i have nothing left, but even if it is - it is still sexual assault. it is!!!! this isn't an argument!!!!!! yeah he was sad about it but it was still sexual assault!!!!

but anyways, enough about griffith. how does casca react?

i've seen the fact that she doesn't push him off presented as evidence that this wasn't assault. i'll... get to that.

what happens after?

after, we get these panels of casca, obviously shaken, outside the wagon.

she is clearly VERY upset. when guts approaches, he sees something is clearly wrong, but she brushes it off and says its nothing. when he keeps pressing, asking if it was something with griffith, she eventually breaks down and tells him that she can't leave with him. she has to stay with griffith, she has to care for him in his fragile, broken state. guts, on the other hand, has to go. even if its alone...

is this reaction in conflict with the idea that what griffith did in the wagon was sexual assault???? no. not at all.

casca feels immense devotion to the band of the hawks, and especially to griffith. she reminisces about how strong griffith seemed to her while she bandages him in the wagon. he gave her everything - a purpose, a reason to fight, a dream, and now even though the event was terrifying she sees griffith's physical weakness and knows she can't leave him. she can't leave him. how often irl do women overlook instances where their boundaries were violated, or a man they're close with was sexually aggressive towards them, because of those pre-established relationships? because that's their boss, or manager, or idol?

and not telling guts - honestly, that to me oddly is evidence to prove it WAS sexual assault. i think casca's single-minded devotion to the hawks and their dream would have made it so that she wouldn't dare bring up griffith doing anything to make her uncomfortable, because everyone is already on the brink of falling apart. even before this, we see her putting everyone above herself to keep the hawks together - crying alone when she thinks no one can hear her, barely sleeping, so exhausted she becomes suicidal, there is no reason to believe she would bring up something that just upset HER. she is less important, in her own mind, than the good of the whole. it makes perfect sense that she would do exactly what she does - she cries alone by the side of the wagon and doesn't tell anyone what happened.

another thing that i want to be very clear about: the idea that because casca didn't immediately push griffith off of her, and because she didn't bring it up to guts, and because she decided to stay with him afterwards, that means it certainly can't be sexual assault? that is rape apologism. full stop. if your argument hinges on any of those things, your argument is rape apologism. this is not up for debate.

NOW - did kentaro miura in the 1990s in japan know about the nuances of how women react to sexual harassment and sexual assault? that i'm not sure about lol. the argument "this is not in line with the way i assume cishet man kentaro miura in 1996 would understand sexual assault, and therefore i don't think it was his intention to depict sexual assault" is something i can understand. that's NOT what i'm seeing though.

that being said, there is some evidence that miura DID have a very nuanced understanding of assault. here, we have griffith talking almost to himself (though casca is nearby), breaking down about how dirty he feels for sleeping with gennon.

and yet, when casca embraces him, trying to comfort him, what does he do?

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

and yeah, guts kills gambino, but only because gambino tries to kill him. guts first reacts by crying and asking why?

finally, compare the above panels of casca after the wagon scene to casca after almost being raped by wylad, and after the eclipse:

i mean, this is how miura draws casca when she's fucking going through it generally, but STILL. they are similar. she's shaking while bandaging him because he's so weak, but afterwards she is unable to mask how shaken she is. i don't think her reaction is JUST because he's weak.

this is so fucking long LOLLLLLL. i'm not interested in arguing with any of the various meta posts about the wagon scene not being sexual assault directly, or discussing it with the authors. if you want an alternate perspective, one that takes into account more of casca's POV, this is for you, and i hope you found this helpful! finally i've got this all in one place

tl;dr i think due to the framing you're supposed to see griffith's intention as sexual during the scene, casca very clearly doesn't want it, if your argument that it's not sexual assault hinges on her not pushing him off immediately u suck

the whole point of kara and alice's story was for it to show that even android/human families can still love each other just as much as any humans would.

alice being an android TAKES AWAY from the whole. loving them even if their blood isnt the same or whatever IDEA IT WAS GOING FOR. its a twist FOR THE SAKE OF A TWIST

its also just. really predictable. i remember guessing it immediately and wondering if theyd do something with it. they did not.

the only thing that is even AFFECTED by this twist is the whole uh. if you fuck up kara while escaping jericho theres a bit where you can get brought to an android camp with alice???????? thats the ONLY THING affected by this twist.

the game wouldve been better if she just. was not an android

the only other thing i can think of that might actually be changed if alice was human would be todds story/trying to get him not to expose kara at the border bus thing. and to that i say. JUST GIVE HIM CUSTODY OF THE REAL ALICE. heres uhh how i think the story shouldve played out instead to give it roughly the same ending:

alice had a relatively happy home life, until her mom walked out to go be with some fucking accountant or whatever. in the divorce, todd managed to get custody of her. todd diludes himself into thinking alice WANTED to be with her mom (whether or not its true is unclear) and takes out all his anger on her.

there you go rough idea that gives the same result. all you have to do is change alices line in on the run from "why didnt he ever love me?" to "why didn't he love me anymore?" and THERE YOU FUCKING GO

it would also make alice's being cold less annoying in retrospect because. shes genuinely cold shes a child she complains she has problems like that. androids dont feel cold and you can literally turn off her temperature sensitivity at the end.

i always found that moment just. so stupid when its revealed. like all you had to do was nothing. like instead of revealing alice is an android maybe luther wants to say that... idk alice is having nightmares and is traumatized and needs some support because shes in the middle of a war running away from home and has witnessed multiple deaths like. shes fucking traumatized. and have the moment be just kara comforting her and promising that once they cross the border it'll all be over and she'll be safe and she wont have to worry about getting hurt anymore.

as for the camp, i honestly dont know since i havent played through it yet. but i dont see how we couldn't, i dunno, have alice being kept somewhere so she can be taken to find her parents so theres a time limit and kara needs to find her before shes gone or she cant escape with her???????????? idfk i havent seen that section of the game yet. im probably gonna play it later tbh

but like. these are small changes that get rid of whats supposed to be a big twist. if your "big twist" can be removed with minimal changes, and it actively goes against the themes of what youre making, then its a bad fucking twist.

No one knew how the curse was able to get into the premises of the battlefield of the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, let alone how it managed to get anywhere near Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College. However, right now, all Fushiguro knew was that you were in critical condition as you continued to stay silent to his pleas.

“This ain’t some joke Y/N, wake up!” Fushiguro shouted in agony as he lifted your body into his arms, searching for any source of warmth from you that he was desperate to hold. Yet, you were just stone cold.

Frantic, Fushiguro began to search around your body to see if he could find the injury that was the final blow that you took, but there was no visible presence of one leading to the shikigami sorcerer’s anxiety to heighten as he began to wonder what really happened to you. What could have the special curse did that causes you to fall into a coma? A coma right? You were just in a coma? You weren’t dead? You couldn’t be dead?

“Megumi, she’s….Y/N is..” Maki began to stutter, afraid of the junior’s reaction to what she would have to announce as she began to reach out to him, leading Fushiguro to turn to look at her with tears welled up in his eyes which led Maki to look at him with widened eyes.

Never once she ever saw the green-eyed sorcerer have a single tear in his eyes as well as the rest of the sorcerers behind her as they stared at the situation that was happening right in front of them. On the other hand, they weren’t really surprised at the fact that you were the one that brought those same tears into his precious eyes. 

You were the first person to ever make them see Fushiguro smile.

Itadori remembered it as clear as day. It was when he had first met you at Harajuku around the same time when he first met Kugisaki. To his surprise that day, you weren’t the new student that they were meeting but rather a current student at the school he newly attended, it was just that you weren’t the one chosen to collect Sukuna’s finger at Sendai that day due to you having a mission of your own.

“So, you’re the infamous student that ate Sukuna’s finger?” you commented, as you walked towards the two students who were waiting in front of the station Gojo has told you to meet everyone at - but to no shock or surprise from you, the said teacher was not there to greet you.

“Oh? Are you the new student we are waiting for?” Itaodori kindly asked, as he took another bite out of his ice popsicle leading to your boyfriend, who was standing next to the salmon-haired boy, to have a say in the newly started conversation.

“No, this is L/N Y/N, she’s a first-year student like us, she enrolled at the same time as me,” Fushiguro informed the boy leading you to kindly smile at him while holding up a peace sign to seem more friendly.

“I’m Itadori Yuji, I’m from Sendai,” Itadori greeted you as he pointed at himself, causing you to nod your head before asking both the boys where your extremely tall teacher was, only for them to shrug at you indicating they had no idea on where Gojo was at all.

‘He probably is buying snacks or something ha?’

“Now it ain’t just the two of us ha Megumi?” you playfully asked your boyfriend as you poked his cheek, leading him to send you a side glance only for a giggle to be your response. Although it was a small interaction, Itadori was able to instantly pick up on something that confused him slightly.

“L/N, why did you call Fushiguro by his first name and not his family one?” Itadori asked in curiosity as he wondered how you were really friendly with the usually grumpy sorcerer. Turning to look at your new classmate, you smiled at him and quickly answered by saying, “no reason really, he just allowed me to since we’re really good friends,”.

Knowing Fushiguro, you knew he probably didn’t want to reveal the fact that you and him were in a relationship to Itadori too early into his newfound friendship with him, so you decided that it was the best for now to tell your new classmate that you two were really good friends.

On the other hand, what you didn’t see was how Fushiguro was looking at you. The shikigami user really appreciated the fact that you weren’t the type to tell the whole world about the both of you since he was a person that thought that not everyone needed to know if he was in a relationship or not leading to a small smile to dawn his face with a hint of adoration in his eyes as he stared at you.

Which was caught by the sights of Itadori Yuji.

However in his sights right now was not the same expression Fushiguro had that day. But how he wished it was. All Itadori could see right now was fear, desperation and regret in Fushiguro’s emerald eyes as he was holding onto your body like he was gripping the small amount of life that you could possibly have left in your body.

“Please don’t leave me,” Fushiguro muttered in a brittle tone, as he gently shook you, not giving up on the fact that you could have a chance of waking up. Not giving up the chance that he gets to see your beautiful eyes. Not giving up the chance that he gets to see your bright smile. Not giving up on the chance that he gets to see you alive.

“I’m sorry for not protecting you, please just wake up, I can’t lose you too,” Fushiguro begged as sorrowful tears began to lightly hit your cheeks with his throat slowly closing up leading to a slight struggle in breathing. Fushiguro slowly and regrettably came to the realisation that you were now gone, leading to a river of guilt that uncontrollably began to flow down to which caused the grade two sorcerer let out a pained scream as his friends from behind looked at the scene with a broken heart.

Gripping on to your body, Fushiguro held your body against his chest and his face was hidden in the crook of your head wanting to hold you for one last time before you were fully taken away from him.

“Hey….Mimi”

Now he was hallucinating. Fushiguro was now hearing your voice as if you were calling out to him. He couldn’t help but fully accept that fact that you were dead and there was no chance you could possibly be calling out his nickname that he hated so much but was so desperate to hear again if he could.

Suddenly to his shock, Fushiguro felt a light but tight grip on his school jacket leading him to slowly pull away with widening eyes to a hand on his jacket causing him to look up to notice your eyes slowly begin to open, showcasing the coloured orbs that the shikigami user was so desperate to see.

“Mimi….it’s really hard to….concentrate using reverse curse energy….when you’re tightly gripping on to me,” you slowly commented with a small smile on your face, to which then you slowly began to sit up only to fall back into his arms due to exhaustion of using a magnitude of your curse energy to heal the injury that the special curse managed to wound you with.

“Y/N!” everyone shouted, as they crouched down to have a clear view of what they were seeing. To their complete astonishment, you were fully awake with a smile on your face leading everyone’s hearts to fill with joy as they were relieved that you were here right in front of them alive and well.

Kugisaki couldn’t help but instantly let tears of complete joy flow down her cheeks as she launched herself on top of you, tightly hugging you close to her releasing all the agonising tension that she was holding in the second she saw your once lifeless body in Fushiguro’s arms.

Gently lifting up one of your arms to Kugisaki’s body to comfort her, you slowly turned your head to stare up at the pair of emerald eyes that were looking at you with such relief and radiance, leading to your other hand that was previously gripping his jacket to then be placed on his cheek as you used your thumb to caress it to help him slowly come back to reality.

To be honest, you could tell he needed it right now. At the beginning of the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, you, Fushiguro and Kugisaki were utterly dumbfounded at the fact that Itadori was alive and well after 2 months of assuming that he was dead after Sukuna ripped out his heart and now you somehow you ‘came back alive’ after sustaining a serious injury of your neck being slashed - you knew seeing two people being revived was not what you saw every day.

“I’m sorry for scaring you like that,” you whispered to Fushiguro as you lightly brushed the remaining tears he had on his cheek leading to the stoic sorcerer to softly place his forehead against yours as he began to savour the warmth that he thought he had lost.

“Thank you,’ Fushiguro muttered as he closed his eye tightly, holding in the new coming tears that were threatening to flow down leading to your hand that was on his cheek to be now placed on the back of his neck as your fingers began to caress his hair to help calm him down even further.

“Thank you for staying”

this sounds like a no war/war ended early au where ozai is still nasty and probably racist and all that fire nation supremacy garbage but zuko just thinks katara is just the prettiest person ever and can't let it go.

katara does not care what people think and is like "c'mon zuko let's go forget about thlse losers" and he's like "you know that's a good point" and then they... spar idk. it's also got that "i'd drop everything for you" and that's so on brand. i don't think i need to remind anyone here that the lightning exists. also katara pulling a sokka. "you know where i come from im kind of like a princess myself"

"We keep quiet, 'cause we're dead if they knew/So close your eyes/Escape this town for a little while"

ozai is not happy and zuko is afraid but don't worry katara is a master waterbender. they would just sit and daydream tho i think.

i see your "scarlet letter is katara" and raise you "zuko is the scarlet letter bc fire" or whatever, but maybe they can both be the letter im fine with that

i can totally see zuko freaking out about all of the drama that comes with stupid ppl not realizing how iconic katara is bc that is also very zutara of taylor. and also no one can truly tear zutara apart and they do always make it out the messes <3

You Belong With Me

i mean no hate to m/ai buuuuut... she is upset a lot and that does fit. katara and mai handle zuko very differently, but m/ai's anger/upset-ness seems to mostly come out when she and zuko are having a spat. m/ai and zuko also dont get each other in general-- not just the humor thing. it reminds me of when sneezy reviews put this section in her zutara video with a lot of fancy words that basically boil down to "she doesn't get your need to free the world from your father like i do" so like... yessss zutara understanding each other that's like a good chunk of the appeal (for me at least).

"And she'll never know your story like I do"

same kind of concept as before, but scar. catacombs and scar touching/understanding scar absolute classic zutara.

"If you could see that I'm the one/Who understands you/Been here all along/So, why can't you see?/You belong with me"

i mean... just sayin'. zuko can be a bit of an oblivious airhead sometimes (we love that about him tho).

again, m/ai and zuko don't get each other and katara is not having it bc she does get zuko and she is very conveniently in love with him if he would just use his brain and notice.

again we got our girl katara saying "buddy i understand you and can give you mutual care you deserve bc you're wonderful" and also the night driving gives nightmare comfort and oh no they accidentally fell asleep together and that's very good zutara energy and coincidentally one of my favorite tropes.

this has post-war teenage zutara. they've just kind of had their "i might like you" moment and they're saying their goodbyes and we get another southern raiders like hug and katara is off to rebuild her home with her family and they're teetering on the edge of something, but split.

"I told myself, don't get attached/But in my mind, I play it back/Spinning faster than the plane that took you"

and like once the adrenaline of being home and the war being over and everything wears off, they're just thinking about each other...

"And this is when the feeling sinks in/I don't wanna miss you like this"

...and then they have that "oh no i might be in love with them"

"I don't wanna need you this way/Come back, be here"

zuko is just wishing he'd asked katara to stay or come back or just something. he thinks about her all the time and he knows that katara would be able to help him with all of the chaos and finding his mom and he just suddenly is in desperate need of her and is fighting that need with all he's got.

katara is working hard in the south pole and she's kind of stuck doing what she was before, and she has a while to spend thinking and (ofc) she's thinking about zuko and how they would do chores on ember island together. they shared the burden and she wonders how he's doing bc she's feeling overloaded and somehow underwhelmed at the same time and needs zuko's help.

"Taxi cabs and busy streets/That never bring you back to me/I can't help but wish you took me with you"

trade is increasing between the nations and zuko always races down to the docks at top speed when he spots the water tribe ships, but it's never what he hoped for and he knows it's stupid to keep doing, but he just does it. katara sees the ships return and leave and considers hopping on one every day. she's wishing she'd stayed with zuko.

"This is falling in love in the cruelest way/This is falling for you and you are worlds away/In New York, be here/But you're in London, and I break down/'Cause it's not fair that you're not around"

i mean... kinda makes sense if you've read the whole thing but they're just slowly appreciating the other more and more and falling in love and suffering bc they're not together, but one katara decides she's had enough and low-key hijacks a ship, bends it there at top speed. zuko watches it pull in at a really strange hour and does his whole dashing to the docks routine, and katara is there!!! and they hug and stuff but then she passes out bc she was doing some pretty intense waterbending. and then it's happily ever after bc i say so <3

the heat you say? i do know a firebender in this relationship... but "setting katara free" feels very on brand zutara to me bc he doesn't want her to get all mixed up in the fire nation drama but katara is not having it and beats everyone up or something and then she's looking at him and then it's all good! (probably)

Begin Again

kata*ng right after the war. aang is still short and gets a little fussy when katara wore heels to be taller.

a*ng just not getting katara. he doesn't get her songs like he doesn't understand her.

a*ng was always late but now our boy zuko is here!!! and zuko feels like a punctual guy to me personally, so if you wanna avoid this part, valid.

reminds me of zuko just casually doing stuff around camp to help and not thinking about it but katara can't stop thinking about it. A*ang isn't bad, he just doesn't think to pull the chair out to ease katara's burdens.

"I've been spending the last eight months/Thinking all love ever does/Is break and burn, and end/But on a Wednesday in a cafe/I watched it begin again"

kata*ng ends. katara thinks that she blew it with the avatar and she's stupid for dumping him but she knew she had to do it (like the back of her hand you might say). she thinks it's over and she can't do better, but she and zuko fall in love and suddenly she can see everything clearing up.

"And we walked down the block, to my car/And I almost brought him up/But you start to talk about the movies/That your family watches every single Christmas/And I want to talk about that/And for the first time/What's past is past"

katara almost talks about a*ng the ex but zuko is telling her about his mother and his old traditions with her, like the turtleneck pond and katara doesn't even want to talk about the avatar ex situation anymore bc she and zuko have missing moms to bond over.

Run

zutara is pretty much canonically the ride or die type of relationship and i really don't think the gaang truly knows how ride or die they are.

"There's a chain 'round your throat, piece of paper where I wrote/'I'll wait for you'"

zuko was chillin in the fire nation until katara returns and he sent her a little notes while she was gone about how he missed her but was sure it would be worth the wait. katara is shook and her cheeks turn pink.

"And run, like you'd run from the law/Darling, let's run/Run from it all/We can go where our eyes can take us/Go where no one else is, run"

zutara knows all about running from the law lol. they are professionals they can get in anywhere like the sneaky little criminals they are. but again, this has their ride or die energy. they don't care what anyone else says because they love each other and that's what matters.

"I could see this view a hundred times/Pale blue sky reflected in your eyes"

blue eyes. that's it.

"There's a heart on your sleeve/I'll take it when I leave/And hold it for you"

they're not subtle. we all saw the lightning. their hearts are definitely on their sleeves if not the entire shirt.

zuko's always had a hole in his heart and the gaang helps to fix it-- especially katara. zuko is loved and the hole is gone <3. and again, zutara is all about staying together despite it all.

end of the war when zuko is the fire lord and you know what katara 100% counts as the one who beat azula. i can see zuko and katara dancing after the war at a like celebration before she goes home and talking about how different everything is now.

i don't really know what to even say just look at zuko at his coronation. he is ending the war and starting a new age. that's not strictly zutara but idc. zuko is very important lol.

zutara winning the war and then fire nation party for besting azula and they're just generally celebrating. they've won and will go down in history.

this has the energy of people arguing about who is supposed go rule the fire nation and some are just aghast at the concept of fire lord katara.

again the gaang ended a war that is a mountain moved. and also azula counts as a dragon i have decided and it is the truth now you can't take it back.

this could be so tragic with the canon implications where they get split after the lightning/healing and put with their other partners and rarely see/interact with each other. just telling them about the other and-- it's killing me.

they both would wish each other's children goodwill if they were forced apart. imagine them telling their children about the agni kai and trying not to get lost in that moment and those feelings bc even when they've greyed they're still just as strong and know they'd do it again if they had to.

and he really did try to be that way as he talked with you but it was very difficult at the moment

the dumbfounded and confused look on your face his face twitch with annoyance and his heart started beating faster bc god you were cute

Chuuya did a double take. What in heavens name made it seem like he liked that suicidal maniac?? Why would he choose him if he had you?

Like he would choose him anyways; or ever consider him as a possible romantic partner.

“Well yeah, but I thought you liked Dazai-san too. As annoying as he is, he can be quite charming—”

He was out of patience at this point (nope definitely not because you were talking about Dazai who told you that?) and just decided to kiss you.

You immediately melted into the kiss and kissed him back with the same amount of love and feeling.

Letting the bouquet fall to the ground, you wrapped you arms around his neck and his put his on your lower back and brought you closer to him. After a few more moments, the two of you broke apart for air.

The two of you, slightly out of breath, leaned your foreheads against each other and just basked in each others presence.

Chuuya looked into your (e/c) eyes and asked you just a little bit above a whisper, “Now do you get my intentions and feeling?”

You blinked at him before breaking out into a grin, “Hmm I’m not sure; do you wanna do that again Chuuya?”

The red head only blinked back at you before rolling his eyes, a smile present on his handsome features, his heart fluttering at you using his name with the honorific.

“Dumbass”

Smiling cheekily at him, you pressed a kiss on his cheek and started dragging him towards the lobby to take a walk around the building perimeter, knowing that the two of you can’t be too far from work.

The way down to the lobby was mostly in comfortable silence until you said something that made Chuuya want to bash his head against the wall.

“You know, you could’ve just told me you liked me Chuuya. It’s not like I would’ve said no.”

Once again, as the rest of the more power mafia members watch from security cameras, it is hard to tell whether Tachihara is crying or wheezing of laughter.

The two of you just started making your way around the building when suddenly a very familiar voice came from Chuuya’s prized hat.

“Chuuyaaaa!! It was about time you stopped being a chicken, Chibi!”

Removing his hat from his head, he started yelling at it not knowing exactly where the listening device was planted.

“TEME! HOW DID YOU—”

“And (y/n)! I would congratulate you, but I think I would rather offer you my condolences. Why him?! He’s just a slimy slug. OOH OOH how would you like to join me in a double suicide?! A shame it won’t be a lover’s suicide but it’ll annoy Chuuya so I think it’ll be worth it! ”

“YOU—”

“And please don’t kiss while I’m listening in. You made me lose my appetite! And it was such a shame! I was eating crab using Kunikida-kun’s money! Do you know what you’ve cost me?!”

Chuuya twitched and glared furiously at his signature hat hating that the voice he hated the most came out of it.

Chuuya whipped his head towards you, a look of mock (or real) betrayal showing on his features.

You laughed at him before taking the hat out of his hands and placing it on his head.

He shyly looked away before muttering a thanks making you smile wider. Just as the two of you were about to start walking, a small explosion erupted from his hat; it was likely that Dazai made the listening device self destruct.

At the Armed Detective Agency, a certain suicidal maniac hid from the wrath of his current partner as he thought about the wrath his old one.

jwcc s4 review (finally)

okay so like ima try to be the most chill and unbiased with this review— i read some others that brought up good points that i didnt see at first, so now thats what ima try to do!

-the biggest fan complaint, kenlynn/cool kids/brookji:

alot of fans are super pissed abt this, and at first it didnt make sense but now i can kindaaa? understand it. my general take is that s1 & s2 the kids were just vibin and surviving, getting to know each other and etc. i think kenji started to have a crush on brook esp in s3, since they were paired up/talked a lot (when brook fought with darius, when sammy got posioned, when darius split up with the group to get ben when leaving the island and brook was worried) so they were kinda getting closer and comfotrable with each other already. and like kenji even confirmed in s4, he realized his feelings for brook when she got taken away, hence his fight with darius (i imagine he was super confused n frustrated abt it.. poor boy). and personally at the end of s3 when kenji got mad, i did find that overprotectiveness weird and was kinda thinking it was bc he liked her! so overall the crush reveal was not a surprise, but i was more surprise that it actually happened! as for brooklyn i think her feelings for kenji were never really developed until they got closer in s4; kenji being a doof and possibly his trueself? and realizing how alike they were made her start to like him a bit? and then he semi-admitted he liked her so she got super confused as well (maybe bc she didnt know if it was platonic or romantic). then yasmina basically opened her eyes, and i think after that brooklyn was thinkin a lot, and spending even more time with kenji she realized she liked him as well...

i admit they couldve done better to show brooklyns development into liking kenji in previous seasons, bc tbh i see both darius and brooklyn being equally super chill with everyone (tho im biased for benrius!).

i think bc the season went by super fast unlike previous seasons, it made kenlynn develop fast as well so it didn't look that well written. tbh even i myself was supperrr shocked that they actually made it bf-gf official! i even wouldve been fine with just confirmed crushes this season, but the ship is probably gonna go through it next season (esp considering the plot twist in the end of the last episode... someone protect kenji pls)

but overall, ship it or not, i still dont think fans should be too angry and crazy at kenlynn shippers or the writers etc. like no one knows where this is gonna go, so we'll just have to wait and see. shouldn't we just enjoy it while it lasts? i think kenji and brooklyn need some type of break from the chaos, and if they wanna be together thats fine by me. same for the other kids! i hope if theyre getting romance arcs that itd be similar screentime as kenlynn and maybe even better developed (i still think yasammy is gonna be the finale ship idk..)

one thing i do wish now is that their charas this season werent too much revolved around each other, but ig thats how it goes! at least we learned more abt them both anyway (theyre both lonely and sheltered kids... also, BROOKLYNN HAS DADS!) and yes im ignoring we still dont have a brooklynn last name reveal smh...

as for the age thing.. idk im not bothered tbh. its like what, a 2 year difference? so thats fine by me, i can see it realistically (if it were any bigger i would def understand the isssue). i dont think the writers are intending anything sus for that or anything— as long as these kids are all kids and just vibin im fine with that. kids have crushes, no biggie.

overall not a surprise to me or a bother! next.

-sammy:

i feel like her character is always the same throughout the seasons so i always found her boring and wanted the crew to work on her. this season was alright! its good they didnt let her issue with her fam die down (tbh i almost forgot thats why she came to the camp), her anger moment, although a lil reckless, made sense esp since we already know her fam obvi means the world to her. i liked her realization with the spinoceratops¿ (angel n rebel) was bc of her and her development from pity to saving them was good! still wish they couldve showed more yasammy, but slow and steady wins the race ig! the deal with mantahcorp (idk if thats how u spell it oops) got even bigger now bc of kenjis dad and im scared for her bestie relationship with kenji 😭 im scared for that whole drama in general but with sammy and her fam as a victim... send help to my kids pls!

-yasmina:

a lot of people send she was so out of character this season (mainly with the kenlynn thing) but tbh? i think this version of her is her real self. even tho she was more colder in previous seasons, we're not new to yasmina being a super supportive friend otherwise. and like she said, sammy is the one who brought out those feelings! i really liked this mischeavous side of her, and ben friendzoning her was the funniest thing!

im superrr pleased with the whole PTSD thing. like most kids shows dont take that trauma seriously and just shove it aside. but not jwcc, and thats prob why im so attached to the show is bc they arent afraid to commit (a kids show where people actually die?? coming after my own heart i see...)!!

i know we prob shouldve had more experiences from the other camp fam, but maybe its good they made this a mainly yasmina thing bc we're so used to seeing her be strong for the team. weak yaz make me weak myself... let her sleep pls.

-ben:

bens whole finding out his identity arc was pretty much perfect. im glad they brought up how panicked he was bc he knew isla nublar so well but now he knew nothing and felt like he was reverting back to scared-ben... but we all know that ben is just ben now! i hope he can get more actual moments with the others bc hes been so independent all these seasons (aromantic king maybe..?)!! a lot of fans like him but tbh /dont kill me/ so far he was always my least fav kid out of the crew.. but i did like him more with his whole s3 thing with darius! so maybe just having him spend time with the others and being himself is the key!! (also more benrius moments pls.. theyre such the mom n dad of the group idc what yall say!!) and his ptsd with the pterodactyl or whatev things? it hurted but im happy he was able to fight back this time!!

-darius:

i didnt get fans complaint with his arc this season at first but after reading some reviews, now i do a bit! now in weirded out as to why darius has like 0 trauma.. maybe its bc he loves dinos so much that overall it doesnt bother him? esp bc dinos are what connects him to his dad the most and etc... and i saw people talk abt him being super leader-y this season but i didnt see much of a difference? he was always the one everyone looked to for answers so i wasnt surprised that he made his own decisions again— everyone still trusts him and knew what he chose was the right thing to do. but they didnt tell him abt their ptsd so obviously darius wouldnt know abt it bc all of their bonds are so strong that i think darius trusted them to tell him anything (but since they didnt he was obv blinded to their true feelings??). and surprisingly a lot of fans seemed to think he was out of character or smth when choosing the phone over the dinos? but i think it was good development bc it showed that even tho he loves dinos to death, he would still do anything for his friends (esp bc they told him they had ptsd). im glad in how he handled it!

one thing i agree on with others is that he definitely deserved some more screentime. mainly with the other kids, and less solo screentime, like the other seasons!... yes i admit, kenlynn and kenji did overshadow him a lot, but at least i believe its to build up the plot twist in the end for kenji and onto the next season (maybe theyre giving each kid arcs? and s1 was mainly darius's? idk tbh!)

i loved how darius handled kash— who i hate and pls let big eatie eat him already...

darius is just so smart and damn im jealous! that kid can think fast and improvise like breathing, no surprise he's the leader (and brooklyn being second in command to the group was very interesting).

-mae was a fine character! i like how quirky she is, and finally not an evil or dead adult 😭 but it was funny how even so she still got injured and was out of commission the whole time... can someone just save my kids and not die, pls theyre too traumatized!! (ps where are the camp counselors who i 100% forgot their names— are the gonna come back or naw...)

-i agree with others, kash is a weak villain. but tbh i feel like he was that annoying and ridiculous to just blind us with the ep11 plot twist aka the REAL villain¿ (i keep mentioning this but ill talk abt it soon i swear). the robots were boring i do admit as well, maybe it wouldve been better if they were like.. dino robots? to help with the island but also be disguised with the other dinos? idk tbh!

-darius's brother who i forget his name... im rootin for him obv! maybe he'll get the camp counselors to help him out and they'll slowburn their way to help the kids? i hope we get more of the mainland stuff bc like.. is no one worried that 6 kids are still missing from the island??! like maybe they do think theyre dead after all (which angsty thats so rude im cryin) but is there like really nothing they can do? get chris pratt on the case already!!!

-and lastly? i think? EP 11/SEASON ENDING. how dare you. how dare you!!! like ive seen other peoole say that they guessed it, but i legit had 0 clue bc i literally never think abt the adult characters period.. BUT HOW DARE YOU ANYWAY!! so ya.. kenjis dad— i can't even say it. I WAS NOT SEEING THAT. like even rewatching that episode i still gasp like ive never seen it bc its so unreal to me... its so good. it pretty much made up whatever complaints i had before! first "appearance" i literally was like who tf is 'daniel' (bc the subs) and i thought it wouldve been a character they already introduced previously! but ig technically they have (even tho i didnt know his connection to kenji until he literally said dad..).

im super hyped for the next season esp bc of this.. LIKE KENJI IS GONNA GO THROUGH IT! who he'll have to choose, the dino and camp fam or his actual dad... and again sammys reaction? i am not ready. like maybe theyll handle it easy and let mrkon have a change of heart bc of his son, but i also really want them to spice it up and make him a serious villain? (ik whats wrong with me) but like consider the contrast itll be compared to darius's dad... like darius and kenji can have a real test of their bond bc of this... and yes i also feel like this will test kenlynn, bc just kenjis dad being here just changes the whole game in general. like will kenji be reverted back to his selfish n spoiled ways and it'll cause a rift between him and brook/campfam?? theres too many questions and possibilities... WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN?? im so worried..

and i know kenji is a fan favorite, so i wish people were freaking out more over this than ships...

Can i be enderman anon? anyways now that's all out of the way. God reader getting revived unexpectedly by dream? it's like - a really badass antagonist god that gets pulled out of the underworld, calling dream their "saviour" (but in a more satirical way instead of genuinely seeing the masked man as their hero cause in the past they've most likely called everyone that helped them their mighty helper to the point where the title feels overused and undesirable). They roamed the lands of the smp, bringing terror and hellfire across the overworld, letting their kept in rage stroll free. They end up in the tundra, the burning flakes of ashes getting lost in the harsh piles of snow. They happened to have stumbled upon the cottages of two immortal gods that they may or may not have used to know. Wonder what'll happen? i would like to see your take in this.

You almost don't recognize the sensation of grass against your calloused and rough hands. You were in the void playing solitaire with Schlatt and Mexican Dream, and the next thing you knew you were suddenly pulled harshly by the back of your collar, falling on your spine. The looming mask of Dream is what stood above you, but he looked different. Longer hair, smelly, wearing a stained lime green jumpsuit with ‘0001' sewn into it and covered in cuts, scars and bruises. But before you could even question why Dream was suddenly there, he stepped back into the void, the void slowly surrounding and consuming him the further he went backwards. His now bony hand is still tightly gripped onto the back of your shirt, so while struggling your body is also enveloped in darkness. All it took was one blink and there you were on a patch of grass, staring at the pale blue sky.

"Huh."

Was all that came out of your mouth. You were still shocked at the turn of events that just happened, but no longer grounded. A running river nearby stunned your senses. How long had you been dead? It felt like years, but when you look around at the familiar forest you died in, not much had changed except for a couple newly planted saplings here and there. The swirling ashes you remembered before you died had all settled and compressed into the soil.

The river showed a strange reflection of yourself- your features have clearly sunken into your skull and there's a streak of white hair coming from your scalp along with words in fancy gold letters on your arm reading,

"May thy woes and hurt of the past no longer eradicate the upwards of this lost souls future. Allow thine to be praised by Ender themselves and be granted another chance at mortality."

Scrubbing or picking at your arm did nothing, so onwards you went walking along the forest to what you remember being a bustling "community".

Each mound of dirt you saw only brought memories of your death, of the place and people who sought to treat you like you were disposable. And now that you’re alive, you hate that they technically ended up being right. Your death; alone in a forest. Running away from the unexpected attacker, ashamed and too prideful to die in the prying eyes of your enemies. It fills you with rage, all the lives taken by your hands and for what? You weren’t overreacting, you knew that for sure. And before you knew it, you stole some fresh flint and steel from a random chest and got to work. 

You had always wanted to touch the fires you set. The soothing feeling you got from watching wood burn to char and ashes satisfied you. And it made it all the more euphoric to know it was trees of your manipulator's land. Running across the land, with flames as far as you could see when you looked behind you. The heat swirled around your neck and went into your nose, but the feeling was muscle memory at that point. You were still riding your high when a voice reached out to you, luckily when you were finally calm.

"What- Y/n? Hold on, is that really you Y/n..?"

You spin on your heels to the familiar manipulative British voice of a person you haven't seen in a long time. 

"Wilbur?! Man, I haven't seen another person's face other than those two addicts in a while- you look different." 

His eyes much like yours are sunken deep into his skull, purple-pink bags under his eyes and dull skin. Wilburs shocked lips fade into an opened mouth smile when he walks up to you with his hands momentarily confused on what they should do. Eventually, his right hand settles on clasping your left shoulder, giving it a friendly squeeze.

“Y/n it is so good to see you! You look quite different yourself, wouldn’t you think-? Oh, look! We’re matching!”

The grey streak in your hair seems to make another appearance when Wilbur briefly smacks it with his middle and pointer finger. 

“Ay, it’s nice to see you too Wil, but back up for a second alright? I've got something to ask you by the way…”

Wilburs head peaks in interest, urging you to go on.

“I’m guessing that little streak in your hair wasn’t a fashion choice- and if it was it’s a bit strange- but how’d you get it? You died when you blew up L’manburg! I mean c'mon, people don’t just, well…REVIVE!”

He starts to walk. You aren’t quite sure where, but stumbling along with Wilbur while his arm is draped lazily atop your shoulders seems to suffice. 

“Ahh Y/n, you’d be surprised. The most WONDERFUL thing happened, actually! Years and years in my hell of a train station; do you know who was at the subway door when it finally opened, Y/n? Dream!”

“Wh- Dream?!”

Appalled, you try to stop in your tracks but fail when wilburs arm is still pushing forward. His storytelling voice dies down to curiosity and excitement.

“Wait, did he save you too? He did, didn’t he? Oh, this is wonderful!”

Wilbur emits eagerism and you suddenly realize what you could do with his desperacy to be socially accepted. Putting on the most exaggerated and animated voice, you speak. 

“Oh my god yeah! Gosh, that Dream guy is my hero! Thanks to him, I get to have another chance at living again, and isn’t that just…swell.”

In all honesty you didn’t really try hard to sound sincere but by the look of Wilbur, it seemed to work just fine. 

“Right?! I’ve been meaning to visit him in the prison if you’d like to tag along with me the day I go? I’m sure he’d love to see you, since he revived you and all.”

Oh, you were sure Dream wanted to see you. He wants a boon- a trade. Why else would he revive two of the most historically significant people on the server if not to make some sort of deal with them? Sure, Wilbur is as gullible and carefree as ever but you at least still had scraps of mental stability and level-headedness that made you all the more a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention Wilbur doesn’t know that Dream killed you, but telling him that now would blow your act. You decide to keep your thoughts to yourself.

“Yeahh, sure! I’d love to go, just tell me when.”

And that’s the end of that conversation. The two of you walk to wherever Wilbur is going. It honestly surprised you how he couldn’t see through your apathy. From what you remembered, he was keen on being wise about people and their intentions but you guess years and years in hell do things to a person.

Somehow, you’re stuck in your mind for long enough that only now do you feel the sharp winter air making the hairs on your arms and legs stand straight up. 

“Wait, snow?”

The tundra was a drastic contrast to the void you were once in with schlatt and Mexican Dream. Instead of black as far as you could see, it was a blinding powdery white. 

‘Mexican Dream would’ve liked it here, probably would have tried to snort the snow like coke.’

You weren’t built for the snow, though. Hell- you didn’t even have a memory of anyone living in a tundra when you were alive! Why was Wilbur even in the tundra? You didn’t have the energy to ask, still feeling brittle and tired, back aching from laying on the dry dirt longer than expected earlier. 

“Yeah, just figured I’d show you around! Plus I already need to grab a couple things from an ender chest and this was the closest by. I’m a very busy man, after all.”

But why were there so many footprints in the snow? As far as you knew, Wilbur was the only one who lived out in the tundra- and he didn’t seem like the active type at all. There were strange shapes as well, large hooved footprints. However, all thinking comes to a halt at the same time Wilbur does.

“We’re here! You might see some familiar faces cause I live with people.”

Well, that answers the footsteps as well as the tall red-caped piglin hybrid giving leftover bones and raw meat to a polar bear.

“TECHNO! TECHNO, HEY!”

He tenses up for a second, you could tell he wanted to be left alone but that didn’t really bother Wilbur. But you recognize him. The name and the apparel- that guy is Technoblade. The same Technoblade who stood by your side while the two of you blew L’manburg up for the last time, and now the Technoblade who resides in a cottage shrouded in snow.

“Technoblade?!”

Hearing your voice being carried by the crisp winter air, he turns around immediately to see you and Wilbur a few feet away. Techno stood there dumbfounded, but he didn’t know why. He wasn’t particularly joyed or ecstatic to see you, but he was at the very least happy to see an old ally back. 

“Y/n? Oh my god, now we’ve got TWO of you? We don’t have room for another one, alright?”

For some it might be hard to see the meaning behind his words. Luckily you’ve talked to him enough to where you can tell he’s being playful.

“Don’t worry, I’ll just build directly on top of your house. Besides, who WOULDN'T want to be near me 24-7?”

“Me-“

“Oh f*ck off.”

You would’ve thought that that was Wilbur due to the similar accent, but there was something off. The slight gruffness and age, yet still succeeding in sounding mellow.

“Phil! How’s my favorite old bird doing?”

He gives you a face. Not a happy one like you expected, rather a face that says ‘really?’ Probably because of the old comment. The two of you briefly hug, Phil’s tattered wings stretching out slightly.

“I’m doing alright, are you okay? Here, would you like to come in? It’s pretty cold outside, you probably haven’t seen snow in a couple years.”

He wasn’t wrong after all. You were freezing your toes off and were itching for lemon tea. The kind Phil used to make when he, Technoblade and Dream discussed plans on destroying L’manburg. Ah, the good ol days…

“Of course! We’ve got a lot to talk about- you still have that old chess board?”

“Yes, but first you have some explaining to do about the fire over in that tree, Y/n. You just got back and you’re already burning down forests?!”

“Did someone say fire?”

Techno has an eager stride in his step once he also looks back to see the raging lights of orange and red in the nearby forest.

“Don’t worry Phil! It’s just- ahh, a controlled burn..?”

Your tone of voice is unsure when a black crow shoots down from the sky into the snow in front of you. It’s left wing is charred and has smoke dancing from the burn. Philza looks at you with a stern glare.

“Oh my f*cking god…that’s it! We’re all going inside now, you too Techno. I don’t want you and Y/n going on a rampage.”

okay heres the #analysis of the shitty movie i just watched because i love over reading into things no matter how #deep they are and this is how i cope with my mom making me watch shitty movies

okay so day shift is an action comedy buddy (cop) movie about vampire hunters but really its just one guy (jamie foxx) whos name is...literally bud? anyways the basic plot is somehow this guy isnt divorced he just lives like it and he hunts vampires and he needs to hunt a lot super fast for money otherwise his wife and kid will...move i guess. like this is such an i have to win my wife back plot but theyre not even divorced??? so heres the bullet list of shit in this movie

-> so one we have to get it out of the way that this is a vampire movie and vampires have a long history of being representative of more than just monsters no matter how many movies make them just monsters like this one. and this shit has gone on forever like dracula with its antisemitism and xenophobia released in the 1800s and netflix literally JUST canceled their latest antisemitic vampire show so. thankfully these arent antisemitic vampires they're just well...lets get into the politics of this comedy movie

-> the villain in this movie is... audrey san fernando? i literally had to look that up i had no idea what any of these characters were named. and well shes like the head honcho vampire and a rich real estate mogul or something. shes also mexican. this movie takes place in la and well theres um... mentions of her bringing lots of...vampires...to la and buying up land for them and also she mentions starting a vampire-human war at some point. and this isnt a big jump at all like the movie straight up tells you shes mexican she crossed the border and had to leave her daughter behind and bring her over later they brought up ideas of immigration and also??? connected vampires to human sacrifice and the aztecs? like the fucking climax takes place at an aztec pyramid thats just...under la??? so we also have ideas of who really owns the land who was here first (i mean audrey is literally like probably close to 150-200 years old so like out of the cast its literally her and the rest of the vampires who like ive said are mexican and native coded)

-> i should also mention theres a conversation our buddy cops have after killing a bunch of white high school vampires. where seth (ill get to him in a bit because oh my god) is like man... vampires used to be human dont you feel bad for killing them? and jamie foxx is like nah theyre all (sure literally but still) inhuman murders and liars which well sure fine but again vampires are often used as a metaphor like...theyre inhuman blood sucking monsters because x group are inhuman blood sucking monsters not the other way around

-> except for bud's two allies who are both white but are like good vampires like dont worry about them theyre fine? all that stuff about vampires all being inherently bad? oh its whatever now for no reason at all dont think about it its just a coincidence theyre both white and now the vampires can be good im sure theres nothing there

-> okay lets talk about seth now. so buddy cop movies need a huge contrast between the two leads, ones strong and cool and damn the rules he's gonna get the job done and the other is weak and ineffectual and tied up in regulations. which is what we have with bud and seth, which is only slightly better because thank god theyre not cops too. and here i have to go on a tangent. if you look at conservative media and often especially political cartoons, you'll quickly sort out that theres a lot of qualities that make someone a liberal aside from their actual politics. like thats why you'll see conservatives often just say pronouns in bio but theyre really saying look at this idiot liberal + a bunch of transphobia. and seth has a lot of those. hes not vegan/vegetarian but he is a pescatarian and pretty much any diet without steak makes you a liberal. same with gluten free which seth also is (or at least just buys gluten free muffins). seth "doesnt believe" in guns. hes a white collar office worker. he uses a satchel which they call a manpurse, and hes often effeminate in other ways -he's fine being called cupcake as an insult by a manly man, his boss...hits on him? he likes cats and fashion and hates violence like it just goes on- and the masculinity he does have in his impractical suits isnt good enough compared to the real men/vampire hunters hes around. and these are all the jokes in the movie btw plus all the ones about seth pissing himself like youre supposed to laugh at these things and think theyre stupid. especially when compared to how cool and masculine bud is. oh my god this is so long and i still have shit to talk about im sorry

-> okay so i bring all these things up about seth because hes also literally a union representative. as in hes the uh...vampire hunters union rep sent to keep an eye on bud. which...why is it specifically called a union? surely it has nothing to do with the wave of growing unionization and labor rights movements in america in the wake of covid. surely we're just making jokes about how unions will steal your money and tie you up in useless regulations to keep a hard working american man from his family for no reason right? because why would you make your buddy cop vampire hunter action comedy a vehicle for anti union messaging? because holy shit why is this random movie exactly that why is this specifically a vampire hunter *union*
