I hate any alastor ship by default just because of the aroace erasure and the fact fandom spaces just cant handle aroace characters. It’s always support for aroace people until it gets in the way of a ship they like. I think when your shows most popular ship is actively participating in LGBTQ+ erasure you’re kind of fucked as a fandom, especially when there’s literally other LBGTQ+ ships in the canon. Definitely just bugs and irks me

I've seen some gorgeous fanart of Alastor as an angel and my brain fixated. I started doodling my own. In doing so, this headcanon appeared:

In this AU angel Alastor, human Alastor was known as an altruist and extremely kind and giving individual. There are still charities, schools and research institutions in his name. His public image is immaculate. All this giving and good influence just barely got him into heaven. In private, he was still a Dexter-style serial killer.

Now in heaven, Alastor keeps this facade perfectly. He is the MASTER of gaslighting. He is so kind and helpful that you don't realize that people who go against him tend to disappear. In fact, you don't realize you sold your soul to him, but of course, it's for your own good! He will take care of you. Support you entirely. This is really all for you, you know.

He gets his bloodthirsty nature out as an exterminator. But as time goes on, he finds hell fascinating. And if his kill count drops, maybe it's better if he hangs up his exterminator sword. Actually, the heaven embassy needs at least some semi permanent representation, right?

So Alastor is essentially gathering power in heaven and now in hell by making more deals very, very quietly. But that's perfectly fine! Because he's there to protect you. After all, it's all for your own good.

I might add to this idea, but that is what I have so far. Outside of my doodles and various thoughts on how characters view him and how similar/different he acts and smiles. Yes, he does still have a permanent smile but it's a kind, open one. Like how you look at your pets when they're being cute.

This can go in all sorts of ship directions, or none, and I like to play with all sorts of options, but right now nothing is decided.

some of yall only care about "erasing a character's canon identity" when their identity is like yours. you only care about accurate representation and letting people of a certain identity have the few characters they have when they're characters you can relate to.

if #angel dust or #vaggie was this full of ship art that went against their canon sexualities (both of which aren't stated nearly as clearly in canon as alastor's is, by the way), you all would lose your collective shit. just the implication that vaggie is a lesbian and angel dust is a gay man is more than enough to make shipping them with the opposite gender completely unforgivable, but someone in the show itself outright stating that alastor is ace isn't.

i've watched this fandom as a whole go from "alastor isn't asexual, that's just your headcanon" ==> "well it's never stated in the actual pilot, so who cares what vivienne says" ==> "okay but asexual people can be alloromantic, he never said he's aromantic too" ==> "aroace people can still date anyway so it doesn't matter even if he is aroace." just say you don't care. just say you throw fits about people shipping things that go against canon until it gets in the way of your ships. just say you only care about canon representation until their identities are different from yours.

I really dislike Chaggie being compared to Jally. I ship both, but....

Jack and Sally aren't a couple in Nightmare til the very end. Jack only comes around once he's literally been shot at and forced to see things out of his fantasies for once and realize that other people really do love and support him; like Sally. The entire rest of the time Jack's stuck in his own mind. Sally's in love with Jack but she's actually not supportive of his Christmas and even tries sabotaging it because she knows what he's doing is wrong even if it took an unexplained visionflower for her to get that hunch first. Her line is literally "although I'd like to stand by him" not "I support him even if I really don't want to". And in the end not only is Sally vindicated by being right like Santa says she is, but Jack suddenly realizes what she's done and falls for her right then. YMMV on how good a couple they'd actually make ((they aren't Diane and Mr. PB; eat shoot Lindsay Ellis *annoying cries*)) but that's what's cute about Jack and Sally: Sally does her pining maturely (stalking not included) while Jack instantly falls all over in love with her because he's Jack.

I understand there are different interpretations w people think Jack was always in love with Sally but obviously I digress and have always kind of disagreed with that reading, as did the writers of TNBC. Because, if you did have a version where Jack was always feeling something romantic towards Sally, or WORSE, was in a relationship- you would get Charlie x Vaggie.

If I'm right (seasoned hazbinnies feel free to correct me on this) Charlie and Vaggie were not written to be lovers initially but later retconned into being later into the writing process....which shows. I think promo stuff from back then called the two just "friends" and Vaggie and Charlie don't act very romantic. As I just laid out and as any shipper of Jally could tell you it's not hard to make that kind of dynamic cute and quirky. The problem is it isn't even THERE.

Vaggie is apparently Charlie's girlfriend and I guess just also believes in the hotel but is skeptical of it, though I wouldn't consider that on par w Sally who was straight up gonna poison Jack in one of Caroyln Thompson's earlier scripts. Especially given that she's an angel this could either work for or against her character but Vaggie seems more like an agent then a loving bestie, even. I think I remember one of the spin off comics for Hazbin which had Vaggie just straight up admitting she's doing the hotel plan because it makes Charlie happy and she'll do anything Charlie wants.

To be honest, it reminds me more of Dr. Mrs. the Monarch from Venture Bros going on about how/why she puts up with Monarch's shit when he doesn't listen to her and it's because he has "passion for a villain"...the difference is that in that case you can kind of get where Mrs. the Monarch's coming from in her emotions. With Vaggie, well, guess that's a sin of not having all the details of her feelings laid out yet. I mean, when you ever get Vaggie's feelings. Such little work about your main couple in comparison to Angel or Alastor.

AND THEN CHARLIE? You can really tell she wasn't written w Vaggie as her gf in mind.

Boy howdy I REALLY HOPE for the series that Viv and co listened to some of the crew complaints and gave Charlie a more empathetic and supportive vibe because ho mah gawd and I mean this as someone who ships them- Charlie is a HORRIBLE girlfriend in the pilot.

Again, thematically, Jack has the excuse of being in a manic depressive episode and also not knowing Sally very much at all in TNBC. He sees her as just another one of his Halloween Town friends who's especially talented but doesn't even realize she and the rest of the town cares. He's not listening to her when she comes to warn him because he's self obsessed. He's nice to her but also passive cause that's how he is at that point of the story, even if he's gentlemanly about it. Compare to Charlie who, while always adorable Didneyprincessesque, is dismissive of Vaggie's concerns, anger, fears and reform while she's not only aware of Vaggie's feelings WHILE BEING IN AN APPARENTLY COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP WITH HER is concerning. And that's before you get to Charlie not noticing Vaggie getting tossed around by Alastor right in front of her.

It'd be different if Al does his weird smarmy shit and Charlie is uncomfy but only stiffens up and shows her actual strong side to him when he touches Vaggie- "HEY! Don't you lay a finger on her!" but no, nothing.

I ultimately get what Viv wants and is going for by comparing Charlie and Vaggie to tnbc, but I think in practice in the pilot it fails because it

was never planned out to be a couple

they're supposed to be a couple but Charlie and Vaggie aren't all that romantic

People give Jack a lot of shit (rightfully, in the video games) and give the movie and Jally shit for being a "bad fit" but I again vouch for them not only on the grounds of tnbc being complete and at home in it's own skin. The rest of the franchise not so much, but the movie and the writers of the character know what kind of person Jack is and have his redemptive quality be that he falls for Sally; I love him and Sally both as characters but also as a couple for that reason. I'd feel totally different if Jack, say, was Sally's bf throughout the film and acted the way Charlie did. I can be critical of TNBC and I think some of Jack's writing is flawed and could be better, but y'know, I will defend it pedantically like I'm doing right now.

With Charlie and Vaggie, I ship them because they're my favorite characters from the pilot but dayum. I'm the kind of hermitshipper who's able to sustain myself off scraps and headcanons and even I'm saying these two need some work. Cuz they do. They need A LOT of work. And better writers.

If Chaggie is ''endgame'' in the final season then I hope "A Happy Day in Hell" is just an outlier scene or it's going to be retconned that they aren't lovers yet because if not- oh Vaggie! Get urself a Hasani Walker comic and fast my gurl you need it.

Vaggie Defense Post

Okay. I need to get this off my mind. I've been seeing alot of anti-Vaggie (sometimes crossing with anti Chaggie posts) about how she's a "bad/evil" person for lying to Charlie, that Alastor or Adam are better than her because they didn't lie. And I'm just floored at the blatant mischaracterization of her. And I need to set the record straight by making reminding these certain fans of a few things they are deliberately not acknowledging

EVERYONE at the Hotel are FLAWED, including both Charlie and (especially) Alastor. None of the m are without fault and all of them (sans Charlie for now) have a body count. Plus, Alastor was a serial killer in life and even in Hell and he makes no qualms about enjoying his kills; and while we haven't seen how Vaggie felt as an Exorcist prior to her fall, in the present she is deeply ashamed of her past and is looking for redemption.

I understand people find Alastor appealing and that's great but make no mistake: ALASTOR IS NOT A GOOD PERSON. While Alastor has kept his promises to Charlie and the Hotel crew, he is also blatantly clear that he's only there to see them fail. He ONLY gave Charlie vital info against the Exorcists when it was convenient for him; if he was truly a good person from the start (as many of his fans seem to think he is), he would've given the info freely. And as side note, he also would've put more effort into remaking the Hotel but didn't because he doesn't care. He's an abusive soul owner to Husk. He only referred to Charlie as his daughter to get under Lucifer's skin. And his lyrics in "Ready For This" shows he wants to guide aka manipulate Charlie to harness her power so he can use it for himself. In short, Alastor is an entertaining character but's he's a selfish, prideful, manipulative, and sometimes pettily cruel person with his true goals still not known.

In contrast to Alastor, Vaggie has been with Charlie since the beginning, before they got traction. Yes, she hid her origins and that was a fuck up (something Vaggie acknowledges) but she still genuinely and openly supported Charlie not only out of love but also to redeem herself. She sang part of a whole song about how she wants to be her partner and protect her; not of some end goal but simply because she loves her girlfriend. While she's not perfect, she's also protective and honest with the Hotel occupants and gave them a choice to leave the Hotel in "Hello Rosie", understanding that none of them asked to be in a war. Vaggie may be flawed but she's a caring, loyal, protective person who would fight for those she loves with no pretense.

Going to the people (or, in my case just the one commenter on YouTube) who think Adam of all people is better than Vaggie as a person? No. Entertaining character? Sure. But he's a violent, arrogant sociopath who tried to blackmail Vaggie into compliance and lied at various points during the trial; so he's not as honest as some fans claim. Vaggie, in contrast, lied about her past but other than that, has been truthful about her feelings and goal from the start.

Honestly, I think some of the Vaggie hate comes from some (not ALL) of the Charlastor shippers. I don't like, I love Chaggie but ship who you want. But don't character assassinate, it's not cool. You can like a fanship without being nasty to a canon ship, which flaws or not, isn't unhealthy or bad.

While I do agree to an extent that Vaggie needed her own special moment to shine, I think it may have been out of the crew's control; just speculating but given how Hollywood is doing only 8 to 12 episodes to save money, I wouldn't put it past them. But maybe with the global success of the show, Vaggie may get more screentime. Her VA even hinted at to some extent by mentioning how Vaggie's bow would be symbolic for her character's journey.

For people who are anti-Chaggie - Fine, ship who you want, it's not the end of the world. But for god sake, could you please put your anti-chaggie posts in the anti-chaggie section and NOT the chaggie section? It's just good manners.

In summary, like who you like and ship who you like to ship. But don't character assassinate someone to do it.

I hate to be that person but why do you hate tordedd that much??? I'd figure to ask, because the majority of your friends, etc, have anti tordedd pfps, and you have even made videos abt it, and I have done some research and the majority of the points that you have stated aren't even canon. Tord was never confirmed to be chasing edd in the future, I don't know where you got that info from, it could be possible that you got it from Tbatf but that au isn't really canon anymore since the creators drew naughtys of tord in a bathtub, and I think canon ew would try and stay away from the route that tbatf goes. In canon it would seem like tord trying to help edd, in wtfuture edd tries to off himself and Tom and Matt go to stop him with a time travel device from red leader, I assume if tord was against edd then he wouldnt really care if he died. Also since cola is a "drug" in the future it could be possible that edd is an addict? I think he is because he's literally trying to off himself over it. Like even if Tom and Matt were working for tord in a whole army why would he send them specifically to catch a criminal? To summarize edd is a drug addict who is getting help, relapsed and tord sent his two best friends to help him. The abusive thing could be right, but in The episode : The End you can clearly see guilt in tords face as he looks at his friends walk away, probably his only friends, his childhood friends, he would want to fix that mistake, no? And even with "just cuz they r friends doesnt mean you need to ship them" can be said about any ship In ew, even with the dudette next door ep, they all have beat each other up Atleast once. Also about the AroAce edd, let's compare it to another ace (implied aroace) Alastor from hazbin hotel, he is commonly simped for / shipped with others, I watched a video covering the topic and what it said was as long as you realize the ship is fanon, respect other ships (like not hating on others for shipping something that is legal, which I know you Atleast did once, replying on a comment agreeing that eddtord shippers should be k1lled.. Not cool dude) and do it just for fun then it's fine. I'm not trying to hate or be "stubborn" I am just stating my personal opinion.

It was about midnight when Husk heard angel enter the hotel. He was busy washing the cups so he didn't bother to look. Up as he heard Angel crash on the bar table “what do you want?” Husk asked begrudgingly.

“Just a martini husky” Angel responded in a shaken voice sounding like he might cry any minute. As Husk turned to face him,

“wow you look like shit!” Husk uttered, “what happened to you?!” He asked after seeing how bad Angel looked. He was covered in bruise marks and cuts.   

Angel started to shake, holding his arms tightly and started slowly rocking back and forth “I showed up late for my show. I disobeyed my contract, so Val beat me up after the show.” That's when Angel hit his breaking point. As he started to sob, breaking down on the bar table, sobbing. Husk didn't really know what to do but he did want to comfort him so he walked over to Angel and put his arms around him trying his best to console him. 

“Husk?” Angel asked, generally confused, Husk was never really an affectionate person to anyone. So Angel was shocked that he was actually hugging him.

“I'm sorry, that shitbag did that to you Angel.” Husker said after a couple seconds of silence. Angel didn't know what to do with himself and brought both his arms up to hug Husker back.  

“Just so you know you're not the only one stuck in a shitty contract” Husk brought up,

“what?” Angel asked, sitting up.

“When I first arrived here I was pathetic, powerless I could never catch a break! One day I met Alastor. He told me that he would give me enough power to succeed down here and in return he said I would have to help him with any favor. I was young and desperate so I said ‘yes’ and signed the contract. It was horrifying at first with all the things he made me do but over the years I've grown numb to it.” 

Husk finished and looked down, squeezing Angel’s hand.  “Well it's good to know I'm not alone in that,” Angel said, looking down at Husker's hand and squeezing it back.

“Ya well don't mention it.” Husk said getting up “I’ll…I'll make you that martini now.” He responded entering the bar. And smiled at Angel as he leaned against the edge of the bar table and let out a little chuckle,

“thanks Husky.”

☆ who’s your favorite character?

Alastor and Vaggie (one was instant and the other slowly grew on me and now i legit can't choose)

Alastor is a trickster with standards, he punches up, confronts bullies, but honestly he's just so cute i automatically forgive him any crimes. Bonus points for helping me realize being affectionate with friends doesn't ruin your bad boy persona, it shows you're secure in it. Don't redeem him it's demon cruelty!

Vaggie is a tragic reformed soldier who desperately tries to repent for her war crimes; the juxtaposition of regular tough attitude and complete guard dropping for Charlie endeared me to her a lot. 'Whatever it takes' came up and i was like oooowww~

Also this scene before the final battle where she tells other hotel residents to save themselves cause "We.. I can't protect you anymore". She CARES

The funny thing is that Vaggie and Alastor share that strong preference to only socialize with women (me too! i feel so seen!) but CAN'T STAND each other

Innovative industry-changing trendsetting project we do not appreciate enough yet as a society. As a person who loves musicals, animated music videos, action, fighting and dancing, i was finally fed~

It's a crime it wasn't given more episodes; it's so tightly packed that even if i have some issues with pacing and priorities, i can't imagine HOW it can be rearranged without loosing important elements that are there already. I also firmly believe that fast story is better than less story so i'm against "just cut stuff out" approach

— The reason you end up in Heaven or Hell is that deep inside you're sure you deserve to go to Heaven or Hell (stole this idea from tumblr). That's how Adam ended up where he did. And sir Pentious unlocked a new mechanic cause he was exposed to the idea of redemption by Charlie (my 5 cents)

— There're more former exorcists in Hell besides Vaggie, and Carmilla saw them

— Rosie will teach Charlie how she made Cannibal town that nice of a place

— Alastor killed the most cruel and ruthless overlords, that's why the more decent ones, like Zestial / Carmilla / Rosie accepted him into the club (fandom commonplace)

— Alastor didn't kill Husk but kept his soul cause Husk wasn't that bad of a person in his overlord days and Alastor actually likes having him around

— Alastor doesn't own Nifty's soul

— Nifty is actually crazy powerful, she just wasn't properly motivated to unleash it on anyone yet

— Angel sold his sould to Valentino not out of desperation but cause he was manipulated into thinking that was a good idea somehow (he put a heart in his contract signature, also not my theory)

Velvette is the coolest V. Vox is very relatable cause he's so done and just wants to do his job in peace and he still can't cyberbully to save his life. Valentino is a great reminder that your life can be ruined by an IDIOT which adds an insult to injury

I was dead sure Vox and Valentino are married. I hate the fact that i enjoy Valentino's dynamic with other Vees that much

Adam can die in a fire, the genocidal maniac. He's much MUCH worse than Valentino, there's even no comparison, but i feel like fandom thinks the other way and it's wild. He was an extremely entertaining antagonist, but please don't return him in season 2

I feel nerd kinship with sir Pentious but i don't think we'll be like Best Friends; i could see myself forming something like that with Vaggie if i happen to fall on her good side

The hatedom for this show is wildly disproportionate and uncalled for and it's genuinely breaks my heart cause i fear it may discourage other animators with personal projects. Hazbin deserved MUCH more praise and recognition

Sinners don't need redemptions, they need to be left alone by Heaven and work on making Hell a better place

Sir Pentious did not get a good ending, he lost all the friends he just made (it may turn out for the better but right now i'm sad)

Charlie did her best in Masquerade and as an untrained group therapist at the Hotel, cut the girl some slack, she does learn from mistakes

It's possible for Alastor to simultaneously like and help Hotel residents when he can and pursue his own agenda when he must

I think Mimzy is cute, sue me (we need more pathetic women representation, hope we'll get it in season 2)

Fandom plz stop with the infantilization of Nifty; people realized it's a problem with Velvette, which is cool, but Nifty still suffers from it too often

— Alastor plans on actually befriending Charlie to have a powerful willing ally like Rosie who can help him get off the leash

— Alastor decided to fight Adam to show off his powers and publicly defeat the First Man, but miscalculated catastrophically (stole this one from my sister)

— Nifty will be forced to choose between Alastor and the Hotel residents at some point in season 2

— Charlie subconsciously treats Hotel guests the way she was treated by her parents as a kid cause it's her only point of reference

— Vaggie and Angel will grow closer cause they're very similar in their protective nature, realistic worldview and self-neglect (season 2 i'm begging you)

— both Charlie and Vaggie visited Rosie and Carmilla, respectively, after the final battle to tell them how it went

— Carmilla will introduce Vaggie to her daughters and they will start hanging out sometimes

— Vaggie had good relationship with other exterminators during her Heaven era, even with Lute at some point, and she always hated Adam

— after he looses Angel's soul (and get his own beaten out of him preferably) Valentino will reevaluate his life and start dating Vox officially

I do not seek out the content to swarm with hate unlike a lot of people I've seen recently. Honestly, some of them are well written, I appreciate the craft, but I don't really speak up on it. My issue is that there's only that haha I want them to be fluffy sometimes (hence my fic)

Now, I usually don't care what labels LGBTQIA+ people use as long as they aren't harmful. For example, neopronouns and xenogenders are fine in my book. However, there are some labels that are harmful, such as mspec and straight lesbians/gays, lesboys/turigirls and gaybians. I think this Carrd goes over all these labels very well. It also provides some alternative labels you can use, and there are some other Carrds at the end like it.

If you want to know how I feel about transid people, it's very simple. Terms like transabled and transracial are extremely offensive to disabled people and people of color. Transspecies and transage have been used by zoophiles and pedophiles to justify their attractions. Gender is mental, and therefore can be changed. This is not the case for age or race.

As for non-traumagenic systems, I'm going to keep this as short as possible, since I myself do not have DID. I am against endogenic systems and tulpas for many reasons. This Carrd debunks endogenic systems very well in my opinion. Regarding tulpas, here is a Google Doc in which Buddhist, Asian and Tibetan people have spoken out against tulpamancy, due to tulpas being a closed Buddhist practice.

In regards to proshippers…oh, boy. There are many reasons why proshippers are so harmful, but if I tried to address them all here, it would take too long. This Google Doc is perhaps the best source of information about why proshippers are bad.

I'm neutral on paraphilias unless they actively harm others. Paraphilias like pedophilia, zoophilia and necrophilia are examples of harmful paraphilias. People with these conditions should be seeking treatment.

What about transandrophobia and people who believe in it? I think this should be simple. The term transandrophobia was coined by a man with a fetish for correctively raping lesbians and many of the people who believe in it are transmisogynistic and lesbophobic. I think that should be enough of a reason as to why I don't support people who use it.
