one piece is set in a nautical world with presumably nautical idioms and exclamations to match, right, like swearing by the sea rather than on a god etc. to wit, there's five seas (the four blues + the grand line) so we can assume when you're feeling particularly dramatic, you might refer to all those vast oceans to get your hyperbolic point across.

keeping that in mind, lets live in a stupidly romantic corny ass world for a moment ok? take my hand.

"I swear on all six seas, if you don't shut the fuck up right now—"

"What?" Sanji looks at him like he's stupid. Nothing new, really.

"Ha, even you're going deaf having to listen to your own annoying ass whining all the time, Cook. I was—"

"No, you—"

"Don't interrupt me! Oi!" he yelps as a wooden spoon bounces harmlessly off his shoulder. He's not impressed that Sanji manages to catch it before it hits the counter.

"You said six seas," Sanji states.

Zoro stares back in lieu of an answer.

"Huh, maybe this has something to do with why you're always lost. There's only five seas, dummy."

And ah, now he gets what the idiot cook is on about. He's surprised and a little disappointed, honestly. You'd think the guy would be a little more aware about his own fucking dream, but whatever. He's got that annoying smile, smug and cocky like he's oh so much better than Zoro.

"Would you like me to count them out for you? I know it's a big number, it's probably confusing for a simple creature like you."

Zoro crosses his arms in clear warning, something the cook, as always, blatantly ignores. He's leaning on the counter that's between them now, eyes sparkling with glee. Idiot. Zoro's thoughts do not have a fond tone to them. Thoughts don't have tones at all, thank you very much.

Sanji lifts a hand and proceeds to count off on his fingers with the precision of a drill sergeant.

"I'm sure you at least know our ocean, the East Blue. There's also the West Blue, North Blue, South Blue, and of course the Grand Line," he wiggles all his fingers as he puts his thumb up for the last one like he's emulating fireworks.

Zoro snorts indelicately. "And?"

Sanji frowns with a tilt of his head.

"And?"

Zoro holds up his index finger.

"And," he says, stifling his amusement as Sanji goes cross eyed trying to follow said finger as it arcs towards him, "your All Blue. Dummy."

He punctuates the last word by poking Sanji in the forehead, snickering when he sputters and swats the digit away in a huff. Then Zoro's words finally sink in, and he straightens up almost too fast. It's not endearing at all.

"Wait," he says quietly, "you count it?"

Zoro doesn't like how Sanji's looking at him with an open expression he's not usually allowed. He looks earnest and sincere. Zoro feels suddenly out of his depth.

"Don't you?" he deflects uncomfortably.

"Well yeah, but that's different. You're—" he shrugs half heartedly and looks away. Zoro can't tell if the end of that sentence was going to disparage him or the cook. Odds are likely split down the middle. Sanji keeps looking at him, and he feels pinned. The bright look is gone, replaced by something more reserved but perhaps...searching? Considering, at the least. It's making him increasingly self conscious. He needs to get out of here.

"Okay. I'm gonna steal some alcohol now," he says shortly, striding to the cabinet and swiping a bottle before Sanji blinks out of his stupor.

Since we’re on the topic of video games, im tired of these fucking remakes. Ive said it before but i’ll say it again each time. These companies dont wanna invest in an actually good remaster or port and would rather waste their time with these remakes bcuz “ooh look how shiny and better the graphics look!!1!1!1” often times it has an empty feeling because everything has to be ultra realism super 6000. Its gotten so bad that now regular gamers are starting to gaslight you into playing or enjoying them. So much has been lost artistically, (like the cool UI designs) that it’s now considered “juvenile” and that i need to “grow up” and “accept it” 😂

I feel like Martlet would want to go with Frisk out of the ruins. After the time she seperated from Clover she would not want that to happen with another human child.

i dont think there would be any circumstance where martlet could ever bring herself to let frisk go alone tbh. its either frisk stays in the ruins with her and toriel as long as they like or they go out into the underground together. by the end of uty's pacifist, martlet definitely has ZERO trust in the guards and asgore to just let a child walk out into a world ready to kill them on sight.

i mean, im pretty sure im not fooling anyone by doing the whole "will they wont they" about frisk leaving the ruins XD. it's really only a matter of time before they confront toriel about it, and martlet wouldnt hesitate to follow right after them. she's brought a human through the underground once, and she'd do it again no questions asked

currently i think this au takes place around 5 or 6 years after uty? so martlet definitely had time to think about her time with clover and definitely knows about what toriel does. she knows the game plan. either she helps keep the next human safe in the ruins or she keeps them safe out in the underground. still a royal guard, after all.

Dustborn is the most interesting game of 2024, i am baffled and enamored by every sentence,each new scene brings with it more knee slapping derangement. Most videos are only reaching for the surface level, and twitter people are just saying "le woke immigrant song game" I promise you these people have not passed the 1h mark and have no idea how weird it gets, it has been festering in my mind with each horrible, horrible decision each character makes, dustborn for me falls under the "so bad its good" metric for sure

crossposting from twitter but im gonna b real i havent completely read the comics w scourge in em. but what i have seen--specifically the prison parts--have made me so incredibly sad LOL. i think about them a lot. like..idk. from the way they seem to have written his time in prison its almost like they hated his ass. the way hes drawn as he's beaten up and thrown around and insulted to his face portrays him looking absolutely UNFAZED, as if hes fuckin...used to it? and im just. ah.

afaik he's not meant to be some big serious villain--he's sonic's lameass counterpart who always loses and just sucks bc hes a bully and thats all he'll ever be. but damn. i really feel fucking bad for the guy after everything he's been put through in those comics

We had an Autism friendly screening of Beetlejuice Bettlejuice at work today. Only had one autistic guy (who was clearly an adult, not a child or a teen) and his mum.

This lady bought him a snack box with a fruit shoot, then after they'd left concessions and were standing by me she started insisting theyvswap it for a water as you "get more drink that way". (The snack box comes with either drink). The man was clearly getting upset and kept saying "leave it" louder and louder. And she kept arguing. Whilst I was stuck awkwardly standing there like

I swear I could have fought that woman. Like he doesn't want water he wants the drink you already bought him, you're just upsetting him for no reason. Eventually a coworker offered them.some free tap water which ended the argument. But I swear I heard her muttering "so embarrassing".

Like as far as I'm concerned his reaction was completely justified (i know i would have reacted the same way). You fighting him over this was what was embarrassing

From like. a character analysis perspective. i LOVE Ashton's tendency to have some very good instincts when it comes to like human nature and fuckery that are also very clearly swayed by their own experiences and biases, because the combination of correct gut instincts with strong confidence makes it. Easy to buy in. Or easy to bristle.

Ashton tells F.C.G "This is what happens when you start externalizing every fucking problem that you have-" and, with affection towards F.C.G- well. Yeah. And then he starts breaking down the issue- how its about people with power fucking with others, how the end goal and the aim doesn't matter, their methods are clearly AWFUL and going to harm tons of people, and besides, if they had such a clear and proper image about what they're going to achieve they could just tell people. They're going to hurt people, they're killing, people, fuck that, fuck them.

"It's easy to make a nice world by killing everyone who disagrees with you. If you get down to five it'll be amazing. Fucking utopia."

Its- beautiful. And correct, in more ways than one, and probably what everyone needed to hear, and also has so much of their own experiences and resentment threaded into it, reductive to an almost dangerous point. Dangerous because he's right, in so many ways, and confident and righteous with it. Dangerous because of how the life lessons and the rage and the loss have left them with base tenets about human nature and motivations that are clear cut and resigned and simple. Because simplicity is powerful, and reassuring, and keeps them going, and is also not infallible.

I just feel like. Ashton is so, so fucking right, often and especially here, is confident in his stances and judgement in a way that has been tested by flame and resigned itself to pessimism. Ashton is so right, and the reasoning is often so sound and tempting, and there's also so much of them, their own losses and shortcomings that bleeds into their confident readings of the world and its overall nature, in ways they maybe don't even realize.

ashton is- full of solid instincts, and also flawed by having lived their life firsthand, and also confident in a way that is reassuring until you find yourself in a blindspot, up against an immovable rockface.

okay so. their story is kinda vaguely similar to the "what if solar's sun didnt die" episode but thats wholly unintentional, and it was decided before that ep even aired pfft

SO it all starts off like most other places, sun and moon share a body, they separate after a while (though they stay together a little longer then our sun & moon), moon purposefully leaves a bit of the killcode behind, etc.

also, it's important to mention; moon was always awful towards sun (and by proxy eclipse), acting much more.. spiteful then ours i suppose? they still loved each other, yeah, but their relationship was never great in the long run.

after a few weeks of separation, sun had awoken in his midscape to come across a certain newcomer.

after a while, sun would start visiting more often, usually using eclipse to vent to. eclipse became a sort of devil over sun's shoulder, sometimes giving genuine criticisms and advice while other times using him to get back at moon or just convincing him to do simple misdeeds.

eventually, after quite a bit of out of character behavior, moon figured out what was going on and convinced forced? them to separate. it was.. jarring thats for sure. They were pretty close in the mindscape, but eclipse behaved more rash and mean in his new body

over time it just got worse. the star was made, and Eclipse wanted it bad. Of course, Moon didn't want that to happen. a large fight broke out between all of them, stakes were high and people were hurt.

around this time moon happened to expirmenting with ✨️interdemsional traaavvel✨️ and during the fight, moon booted up the portal in hopes of getting rid of eclipse, and guess who crawled out right before eclipse was kicked in! the one and only!! bloodmoon!! fuck!!!! thats bad huh!!!!!!
