Content warning, very large bug!!!

I found this big lad outside a 5 Below with a bunch of cobwebs around his leg. Cleaned it up a little and was holding it as pictured when a guy and his daughter came out of aforementioned 5 Below and saw it. Guy was like oh is that your pet??? And I said No??? I just...found it??? And he was like we live by the river, mind if we relocate it there? Obviously i said go for it, better there than a bigass parking lot. Then the daughter (who is very much a minor and therefore unable to drive) is like ummm i'm not holding that, we need a container so her dad is like go get my coffee cup! So she gets his mug and i pass the lad off and that was the highlight of the day. Very cool to feel how strong it was while it gripped my hand.

Idk really how I’d go about it yet BUT I made a small idea sketch, I’d think his cybug would end up looking more like some kind of ant (carpenter ant) maybe because of his handyman nature and also his cap would turn into antennae or smthn, sorry it’s not much I hope it’s alright!

(Also his abdomen is not in the air I was just trying to make it look like he’s climbing down something)

We shot for two days, the second day was a lot of the band portraits and the first day was just the bugs, which is that Closer To God cover. I never shot still lifes of bugs before. We shot like 50 different pictures of bugs, and this is the one that turned out to be the cover. Trent was there the whole day, because he wanted to hang out with the bugs - Joseph Cultice
