I love the idea of transformers molting like insects

I mean they have a hard casing covering softer bits right? Insect! Its like an exoskeleton.

Since they're of sentio metallico(I think, Im very willing to discuss and be corrected) thats gotta grow somehow, and since they can weld to add more parts or remove, it should be a molt like process

Even if its not super lore accurate or whatever I still like the possibilities, think of them helping eachother through the molts, the itchiness and all the comfort and fic possibilities.

I've only ever read like one fic on it honestly and I think you should all check it out bc it's good, its kinda a soundscream fic but its not a super big focus heres the link

todays bug is....

the orchid mantis (hymenopus coronatus) !!

so pretty ෆ⁠╹⁠ ⁠.̮⁠ ⁠╹⁠ෆ

they live in the rainforests of southeast asia !!

⮕ cambodia, indonesia, malaysia, laos, thailand, etc 😋

the females can be up to double the size of the males (⁠・⁠o⁠・⁠)

the mantis has colors and limbs that look like the pink orchid flower, meaning they can blend in with them to hunt !!

⮕ mantises sit in clusters of the flowers, blending in as small insects and flies land on it. the mantis then seizes and eats the insects ⟵⁠(⁠o⁠_⁠O⁠)

theyre carnivorous, so they eat a lot of other smaller bugs 😋

⮕ their diet consists mainly of flies, crickets, fruit flies, bees, and even miniature wasps !

⮕ their diet is also pretty much the same in and out of captivity, and i think thats pretty cool (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

Fairy evolution!!! I’ll do one for elves soon

I had this idea for a while I was just too lazy to implement it so now I finally did it. There’s more information I’ll make on maybe a longer post.

Btw fairies in the same family can have descendants or relatives from a different insect family or mixed with different insect families due to crossbreeding. Same for elves

I was very inspired by @sucrerosses’s flower dress for Holly sooo I did my own! How’s it look? Thinking of giving all the fairies flower outfits like the traditional fairies you’d see in old storybooks.

I’m a bug nerd me making Holly a dragonfly was on purpose. Did you know four ladybirds in total have been in space? I’m not really sure why scientists needed to know how insects would fare in space I think they were just bored.

Other insects have been to space too like house flies, honey bees, and a velvetbean moth.
