Shellington hears SINGING(In a language he DOES NOT UNDERSTAND) coming from these eggs, which he ASSUMED were normal fish. The eggs are bigger than any other fish egg he's ever seen or heard of in his life, and he just takes them in. He pulls the egg out of the incubator that he put them in because IT'S SINGING, which can't be good for the egg, and he holds out the egg, confused, AND OUT POPS A DAMN CHILD???
