Theory on Agatha/Rio past

We know Rio joins the coven next week, climbing out of (what looks like) Sharon's grave and will be part of the next trial.

We also get a sneak peak on how the trial starts - but in the extended version, after the coven disperses to find the clue, we see Rio standing behind Agatha and saying "boo". Agatha seems stirred but eventually she replies a very decisive "No".

Now - I, for one, would love this brief moment to be about the sexual tension and how they can't keep away from each other. However, I think Rio's unspoken suggestion is actually about killing the rest of the coven. Especially that in another promo we hear Agatha telling Rio that "she needs these witches to get her what she wants".

So I think their past might be something like they were always just the two of them together against the world, and that they used to find witches for Agatha to syphon power from, and Rio would help her. This would sit well with Rio's chaotic energy and the theory that she's Lady Death.

I also think that despite all her bravado, Agatha actually longs to be a part of a coven. After her own mother's coven turner against her, she would've tried to form her own sisterhood. We see in a promo that she's sucking energy from a group of women around her, so probably another coven turning against her for whatever transgression this time.

It's probably caused by something Agatha did (although in my eyes she can do no wrong!), but I wonder if at some point Rio doesn't start meddling here.

Maybe Rio meets Agatha and becomes fascinated by this loud and unapologetic witch, so she wants her all for herself. She starts meddling so that Agatha is more and more isolated and betrayed by other witches and begins to think that maybe a coven is not something she wants any more and that she can only rely on herself and Rio. Eventually she gives in and the two of them enjoy their lives together, causing chaos and tricking other witches for a few centuries - something akin to Louis and Lestat in the Interview with the Vampire (maybe they even split up because of a child, like the vampires?)

We don't know how long it's been since they've been apart, but we know it's since Agatha acquired the Darkhold, so probably a fair chunk. But now Rio found her again and she misses Agatha and wants back the chaos life they led. She was never intent on killing Agatha, I don't think, but she wanted to see her hurt. But when she finds out Agatha doesn't have her powers, she realises it will be tricky to go back to where they were until Agatha has magic again. She starts scheming again, maybe she even hopes that Agatha will be able to syphon the Salem Seven? Or that Rio can play the hero, save Agatha and show her how much Agatha needs her?

But instead of fighting or running, Agatha assembles a coven. And she actually seems to enjoy it - I mean, look at them singing the ballad. Even though Agatha is impatient to open the gate or get some magic blasts flowing, she does take a pause at the end of the song, clearly enjoying it.

In episode 3 she has her soft moments too. She clearly doesn't feel like part of the sisterhood yet, because she's wary of her past experiences - she tries to protect herself by offsetting any moments of kindness with some jerk behaviour (I think that's the only reason she kicked everyone after sliding out or the first trial) and show them she doesn't need them. But you can tell she fits into her role as a leader so well and maybe even is surprised by it. And just look how she enjoys herself in episode 4 band!

I think Rio is opportunistic, so after Sharon's send off, she sees her way in, but what are her intentions for joining?

She might just enjoy the chaos and hope for fun "like the old times", maybe expecting Agatha to intend to kill the witches like before. Or she might want to keep meddling so that Agatha doesn't abandon her for a coven. Or there is something else and she actually wants something from the Road? Or all of the above?

Ugh, you have no idea how much I love this. These eminemcore videos on TikTok live in my mind rent free. Please allow me to elaborate on how dope it would be as a concept 🙊

Most of the time, especially nowadays, he appears calm and composed and public. Three decades and 16 years of sobriety after getting his start, he's not as chaotic as he used to be. He's not as quick-tempered, not as angry and erratic. But the way he lets his goofy side come out, on stage and behind the scenes, you just know that it wasn't just the drugs making him wild. If anything, being sober makes him a better agent of chaos.

He's stated in interviews that, sometimes, him being high or wasted would make his mean and angry side come out. Now that he is sober, people around him probably don't fear his bad temper as much. However, sobriety doesn't mean he has become any easier to put up with. If anything, he is just as insufferable. Maybe even more so, now that he has more wit, so his jokes and the playful jabs he throws at people are even more creative. You can just tell the weird, sometimes intrusive thoughts in his brain win, sometimes, and he's just happy to let them.

Now, some people would think that, as he gets older, maybe he'd calm down (no) or that he just needs to find himself a lady who keeps him grounded. After all, maybe he's been single and alone with his weird brain for too long. Imagine their relief when he says that he has, indeed, met someone who makes him happy (finally). Only for the relief to be short lived as they finally meet her and realize that he really has found his match. Not only does she put up with his antics but she's just as freaky. Weird humor. Crazy ideas. Pranks. The things Marshall says that leave people puzzled, because they don't seem to make sense... She gets them. When he makes an obscure reference, she gets it too. And they really don't know if they should be happy for him or scared that it's actually a sign of the apocalypse. 🙊

Or, imagine that Reader meets some of his friends. Maybe she's just moved to Detroit, or they meet at an event/party. And as they get to know her, they can only think about how much of a female version of Marshall she is, in the way that she is unapologetically weird and freaky. They really like it, though, because it makes her really funny and entertaining. She's really cute, too, and overall, they agree that she'd be a great match for him. They just don't know if they should try and play matchmaking or act in the best interest of everyone's energy levels and try to keep them away from each other. 👀

You had always been a bookworm at heart, and the prospect of getting lost in the aisles of your favorite bookstore was too tempting to pass up. The shelves upon shelves of books, the cozy reading nooks, and the promise of a good cup of coffee in their café – it was all too much to resist.

Without thinking, you had mumbled something about needing to check something out and slipped away, disappearing into the bustling crowd of shoppers. They exchanged amused glances, knowing that you were completely unapologetic about your impromptu shopping spree. In the end, they couldn't stay mad at you for long. After all, it was just another one of those quirks that made you, well, you.

As you all made your way back to the car, your two overflowing baskets of books in tow, you couldn't help but feel grateful for partners who cared so much about you. And even if your little adventure had caused them some panic, it was also a testament to their love and concern for you.

Meet Emi Lind

(made with this here picrew, could do with some adjustments with her hair and stuff, but y’all get the idea)

This is soon after her first arriving to NRC and being admitted along with Grim. The uniform’s a bit baggy and ill-fitted (good luck getting clothes from an all boys school to fit on a plus sized girl / woman).

There’s a few alternative looks in my head as time goes on and I kinda touch on them in the post but maybe I’ll detail those another time. But there’s a bit of a symbolic journey to be had here, from out of place and uncomfortable to being unapologetically herself.

Like the comfortable in her skin version would be much more of a metalhead or even a bit of a goth (as much as the school dress code allows, I suppose. I'm still not used to school uniforms being a thing). Probably a long skirt (or dress) as well, or those pants with chains on them. Might even wear a corset on occasion. Definitely like a choker-style necklace and things, perhaps some dragon earrings and things (unless she feels awkward about it because a certain heir apparent).

General information

She definitely struggles, a lot, after finding herself in Twisted Wonderland. (Honestly I really need to think of how she’d make it through some the story beats, because I’m not sure how exactly I could see some of the canonical events suiting her.)

It doesn’t help that she’s frankly terrible at asking for help, and keeps on thinking she needs to handle everything herself.

To add insult to injury, she’s kinda used to cruising academically. Suddenly, she doesn’t have the background knowledge and basic information that everyone else has. She’s definitely cried in class (and is absolutely mortified about it) just because she’s not used to struggling so much.

Plus, like, add in the whole stress to adjusting to everything that’s going on, only having guys as her peers, and basically living by herself all of a sudden - and looking after Grim, too.

In general, she’s very much a planner and an (over)thinker and not exactly spontaneous. She’s also somewhat shy, and the new environment definitely has her withdrawing at first. On the other hand, she’s pretty trusting and idealistic - she’s not totally naive, but she does want to believe the best in people unless proven otherwise, and has generally been quite sheltered in that regard so far.

Despite seeming pretty meek at first, she can be pretty stubborn and set on things she’s decided. She’s also pretty protective and very much ready to defend those close to her. One of the easiest ways to make her angry (which, generally, is pretty rare) is to be unjust to someone she cares about. (Yes she absolutely wishes she could throw hands with some folks in Jamil's life later on.)

She does also love some good banter with people she’s familiar with, and ribbing is definitely a thing with her and adeuce once they get more comfortable with each other.

She’s very much a fiddler and pretty nimble with her hands. She’ll be doodling in class, playing with her pen, or just in general fidgeting with her fingers. At some point, she gets her hands on a skein of yarn and just finger crochets it over and over while studying etc., before getting some more proper tools and things later.

Relationships with some of the cast

She tends to get frustrated with Ace and but heads with him, but once they’re more familiar with each other, it’s very much a bantering kinda relationship.

Has a pretty positive view on Deuce, even if she does think he’s exactly not the sharpest.

Her relationship with Grim can be a bit strained and rocky at times. He’s very chaotic compared to how she likes to do things, and sometimes it gets exasperating almost like another NRC duo we know. It does take her some time to really warm up to him and for them to start understanding each other.

She appreciates Malleus seemingly being someone chill if a little eccentric. However, she has quite the crisis when she realizes who he is. In general, she very much does not know how to deal with royalty or rich people or anything like that, and feels very much like a country bumpkin (for as much as she can remember of her life before Twisted Wonderland). It doesn't help that she's used to being pretty casual with people, and suddenly she has hierarchies and polite forms of address to consider (somehow, it doesn't seem like the teachers here would appreciate being addressed by first name).

She’s wary of Riddle’s temper and tries to keep to the rules while at Heartslabyul. Gets along with the rest of the Heartslabyul gang pretty well tho, and does warm up to Riddle eventually. (There may be a small part of her hoping to get to show him up in something academic one day, even if that's a bit of a pipe dream. She's smart, but not that invested.)

In general, she tends to be unsettled by the more abrasive or loud members of the cast, especially when she’s freshly arrived and still settling in. (See Floyd, Sebek, but also for example Leona and Vil.)

There's definitely the potential for some country bumpkin bonding with Epel. (Also like, with the Finnish elements in the Harveston event, I do wonder if Epel talking of things from his hometown would nudge some things in Emi's memory or just be comfortingly familiar. The way she'd ascend getting some good rye bread and gravlax. Plus they could totally make oven pancakes together.

Jamil doesn't immediately catch her eye, it’s more of a gradual thing (with, uhhh, sure some bumps on the way, more on that in a bit).

Once someone is in her “bad graces”, she'll keep her distance if possible. Basically, if you don’t pass the vibe check, she’ll remember it.

Some story beats

Did I already mention that she struggles to adjust? Because she sure struggles to adjust.

Riddle’s overblot? A lot of shouting, not great, but at least she wasn’t too directly involved.

Leona? Yikes.

Azul, though. He personally came after her & hers, and she sure remembers that. (Octoboy has his work cut out for him if he’d rather stop getting the side eye.)

Before book 4 and the Christmas break, the mood is very much “I swear, if we get yet another crisis, I’ll wring whoever’s responsible”. She’s kinda just desperate for a break. In some ways she’s doing a little better - she actually has adeuce and some other people she actually knows and has gotten more comfortable with, yet in other ways she’s kinda hanging on by a thread with all these crises and things coming her way.

(Visually, as well, I’m thinking that her hair is dyed red. So at this point, it’s been a few months, her roots are definitely showing, but boy has she had other things to worry about than her hair. At least she’s acquired a few nice jewelry pieces / accessories to feel a bit more like herself despite everything. Still, things are not great.)

And then comes book 4 🙃 She gets to know Jamil a bit more, and feels like they’re getting along. Like, a sensible, reliable person in this mess of a school? At least there’s a hint of a silver lining with the whole kidnapping enforced stay.

And then the truth comes to light. Which… doesn’t exactly sit too well with her, for obvious reasons.

Like, I’ve got this vague idea in my head of her being all welp, she thought Azul was bad, suddenly someone else has taken the bottom (top?) spot of folks she’s distasteful of.

Like, not to say she’s wholly unsympathetic, but she sure ain’t chill about the whole thing either.

So, after book 4, she isn’t exactly in the best state.

Jamil, however, does want to fix his reputation, and Emi’s part of that.

So yeah, like I said, very much scattered thoughts at this point. (I mean, I’ve got a few more bits and bobs on like her personality and habits but this is probably plenty enough for one post.) A cookie to anyone who reads this whole thing tho.

HOLY GOSH THAT WAS A LOT. Like, there is A LOT of details to impact in just this one season. But I gotta say. I had SO MUCH FUN.

Like, OMG, this is the most hyped I’ve ever been about Ninjago since the Oni Trilogy.

I think the thing I love the most about the sequel show is that it’s GREAT for a new generation of kids to get into the show. Just as the original show did for us.

Not only does the merge make the story fairly disconnected to the original show but it’s also a great change of pace of PURE UNAPOLOGETIC CHAOS.

Seriously, they throw SO MUCH at you at once that I can’t process any of it.

It’s great for new kids not familiar with the original show to get into Ninjago. You don’t have to know anything to enjoy it. You can still get invested in these new characters taking center stage, and just treat the old ones like assistant side characters that are also very likeable.

If you don’t know anything and are just getting into the show, it’s a chaotic fun watch with head rushes in a good way, and characters easy to digest and like.

If you DO know the original show, your reactions likely range from breath snatched to FANGIRLING.

It was dinner time when Nosy finally spotted Theodora enjoying her meal on the Hufflepuff table, his tail wiggling at the sight of her. With a nimble leap, Nosy jumped down from Sebastian's shoulder and started waddling towards her.

In a truly athletic display, Nosy leaped from student to student, landing on their robes and backs with graceful ease, causing a few startled yelps along the way, until he finally landed on the table of the badgers. He dashed through the bountiful spread, pushing over a few drinking glasses, bowls, and plates here and there, until he stopped right before the girl.

Nosy rummaged through his belly pouch at high speed and pulled out a small, heart-shaped potato. Nosy was waiting quite a while to give this to her! One whole day! (A very long time, in Nosy's eyes.)

The Niffler rolled the earthapple towards Theo with a proud squeak and a cheeky grin as if he wanted to say, “That’s right, marvel your gaze upon THIS little treasure! It's just for you!"

Nosy wanted to swagger a bit longer, but that was until he spotted a certain lad sitting next to the Hufflepuff Lady from the corners of his eyes. Ah, if it wasn’t the Chump-Gentleman! ( @ask-elland-n-will )

Nosy squinted at the fiery-haired boy. Nosy had not forgotten about the belly rubs Elland gave him that day. The Niffler was still salty about how vulnerable and exposed he felt that day. How did Elland know about the Teal King’s weakness? It was time for a little payback.

Puffing out his chest, Nosy let out a loud, demanding honk. The little Niffler strutted over, his tail wiggling with confidence. "Oi, you!" his eyes seemed to say as he stopped right before Elland. "Remember me, mate?"

With a quick snatch, Nosy grabbed some peas from Elland's plate and started throwing them at him. He wished he had his pea shooter, but sadly, the pretty Prefect had confiscated it earlier. Wasn't Elland just a lucky guy? BUT NOT LUCKY ENOUGH!

The little menace dashed forward and snatched Elland's Pumpkin Pasty. With a triumphant honk and the pasty in his snout, Nosy climbed up on Theodora and nestled on top of her head, snuggling into her hair. He smirked at Elland, curious to see what the Hufflepuff might do now.

Theo had chanced a look over towards the Slytherin table, not that she looked over in the direction that often or anything, but as she did she couldn't help but smile at the happy tail wiggles as Nosy spotted her from Sebastian's mess of hair.

As Nosy jumped from @ask-sebastian's shoulders, Theo had no doubt the teal fur ball was coming her way. She gave Sebastian a helpless shrug as if to admit that: yes, your niffler could probably do whatever his little chaotic heart desired, and neither of you would ever do anything to stop it.

You knew it. Sebastian knew it. And Nosy definitely knew it.

...And that included just letting the absolute trail of unapologetic messes happen as Nosy made his way over to her. She watched, half wincing, but mostly impressed. She'd have to reward his efforts with some treats!

"Hello my friend, I hope you're being good, but not too good, today." She smiled warmly at him, giving him a light scratch as he excitedly rummaged for something in his pocket. Upon seeing the magnificent potato, she couldn't contain the excitement on her face. In fact, she was almost as excited as the niffler himself.

She held it in her hands gingerly, softening at the heart felt gesture. Not only was it a potato (the most versatile of starch's) it was also A HEART SHAPED POTATO?

She gasped, bending down to Nosy's eye level, giving him a loving head pat as she vowed stoically, "It's beautiful, thank you Nosy. This treasure is going to stay with me forever, you sweet wee devil."

She almost turned to show it off to Elland, but could see that Nosy was desperately trying to tell @ask-elland-n-will something. The honk seemed quite imperative. She watched curiously - was he excited? Angry? Oooh- nope. There were those peas again.

She'd only seen Nosy threaten Andrew with them, so Theo knew the peas meant business. Merlin save Elland for whatever it was that the poor boy did.

She watched apologetically as the little paws snatched the pastry from Elland's plate after the pea assault. Nosy was quick as he scrambled to her hair to seek shelter. Or gloat.

By the look on Elland's face it was probably the latter.

"Now Nosy, you know gloating it isn't nice." She reached up to give him another little scratch before looking at Elland, "I guess only a few of us are the chosen ones today - what on earth did you do to have him stealing your pastries?!"

One Piece is such a fun and whimsical little universe that I just wanted to get extra creative with my character. Most of my ocs are, in one way or another, an extension of myself so technically it can still be a self-ship! (Well that’s what I tell myself).

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐰𝐢 (+ 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐢):

Kiwi is very much a golden retriever— goofy, laid back, and always unapologetically themselves. They’re the type to crack a joke if things start feeling bleak and knows exactly how to lighten the mood. A gym bro at their core, Kiwi is also musically gifted, with their favourite instrument weapon being the guitar.

If for some reason they don’t like you, their easy going vibe can get real petty, real quick. It’s usually in the most ridiculous and harmless ways. As my friend once said, Kiwi is the type to send hate mail to anyone who has done you wrong. Nothing threatening but just bizarre.

When it comes to Nami, Kiwi is completely and utterly in love with her. Shark teeth and all. They adore her.

One of their favourite things to do together that isn’t sexual is just lounging around in the other’s lap, braiding or playing with each other’s hair. The crew can always tell if Nami’s just worked on Kiwi’s hair if it looks neater than usual (I headcannon their natural hair to be untamed and unruly).

They are slow burn, and don’t really get together until after time-skip. Nami fell first but Kiwi definitely fell harder. Nami tried to brush off her feelings at first but she couldn’t shake how Kiwi’s warmth kept pulling her in. What really messed with her head was not knowing if Kiwi’s extra kindness was just them being friendly like they are with everyone else or something more. Meanwhile, Kiwi was just as confused, thinking their feelings for Nami was completely platonic until they started noticing how their heart would race and their stomach would flip whenever she was around.

Sick and tired of constantly unga-bunga smashing their guitars in battle, Franky eventually makes Kiwi a guitar that doubles as a weapon (the one in the comm).

Kiwi doesn’t feel jealous when Sanji simps over Nami. Tbh they kind of just go, “Yeah, I get it” and moves on. However, any time Sanji calls Zoro ‘mosshead’, Kiwi is usually in the back like, “Hey man, what the hell…”

Zoro and Kiwi bicker. A lot of push-up contests. But they’re more similar than they think. These two get called ‘two peas in a pod’ which makes it funnier because they’re both green.

Kiwi was like Robin’s feral dog in the beginning. Settling into the crew and getting to know everyone was a little chaotic because they literally had nothing to their name except the clothes on their back and a talking skeleton as a friend.

Brook is Kiwi’s first and proper friend. I won’t go into their lore right now but they feel as though they are indebted to Brook. Kiwi might not be alive because of him. They often duet for the crew.

Favorite DJATS couples?

So this is a question that's actually kinda tough to answer because there's a lot of nuance to it. Also I'm answering this on like 0 sleep so I don't feel like I'm going to be able to articulate this well, but I'm gonna try.

Short answer? Book Camila/Billy, show Daisy/Billy. And of course Karen and Graham.

Long answer? Daisy and Billy, but not because I want them to get together, but because there wouldn't be a story without them. Like, I completely get that they would have been super toxic if they actually got together. But there is no story without them, no conflict. DJATS would be a very boring read if the story was just "Daisy and Billy wrote amazing music together but maintained a completely professional relationship." And I know a lot of book fans are super pissed about Daisy and Billy kissing multiple times in the show, but honestly that kinda made it better to me. Because it made it very clear that Billy was attracted to her as well, that the chemistry they had wasn't one sided, that it wasn't something that Daisy was just imagining. It upped the stakes, it made it a bigger deal that Billy chose to stay with Camila in the end; like, I'm not saying Billy didn't love Camila in the book, he very clearly loved her to the moon and back. But he never relapsed, he never kissed Daisy. Once he got out of rehab he stayed in the straight and narrow.

Whereas in the show, even though they were only together for twenty more years (as much as I do love Daisy and Billy reuniting when they're both sober, more mature, and able to explore a relationship, I am really pissed they killed Camila early because one, she fucking deserved better, and two, SHOW OLDER PEOPLE STARTING RELATIONSHIPS AND GETTING MARRIED. Life does NOT end when you turn fifty. Also, I legit just typed a whole paragraph rant about that and deleted it because that's a whole other subject), I think it's more poignant that Billy had to work to earn Camila's trust again after relapsing, after kissing Daisy. To me, the fact that he was willing to put in that effort says volumes about how much he loved her. And it just makes the bit where Camila says that they had a wonderful marriage, that they *chose* each other (and kept choosing each other, over and over and over) more powerful.

So I feel like I'm basically saying that my favorite couple is Daisy and Billy, but just because it made Camila and Billy as endgame more satisfying (and I do consider them end game because, even though a reunion with Daisy is teased, Billy and Camila would've absolutely still been together if Camila hadn't passed).

Also, I do just have to say here that a huge part of my preference for the show is also because of Sam's amazing acting. And the fact that I'm just a sucker for chaotic, even toxic, relationships in fiction, sheerly because it's fiction. (Also why I love Lestat/Louis, Daemon/Rhaenyra, Cookie/Lucious. Those are all couples where, if it were my best friend I'd be like LEAVE. HIM. But in fiction I'm like, one of these is a coke and the other is mentos and I wanna watch them explode).

Also, I love Karen and Graham. Book and show. I love the black cat/golden retriever energy and also I love the, very realistic, portrayal that it is possible for two people to love each other deeply but still be so fundamentally incompatible that a relationship would never work, and it hurts and it sucks but the best thing to do is break up and move on. Love doesn't fix everything, as much as we wished it did, and I think that's something we need to see more of in media. Plus I love Karen being firmly and unapologetically child free, which is, again, something we need more of.

Warren and Lisa get an honorable mention just for the fact she still asks him to sign her tits, just to be nice. Because I thought that was hilarious.

1x01 – Pilot thoughts

I haven’t been living under a rock, I do know of Shameless because it was an UK show originally and I have seen odd episodes of that over the years. I’ve just never gotten around to watching the US version and 11 seasons is a big investment. I thought I’d finally give it a go.

This family is as dysfunctional as that of the one from the UK show which I’m very glad about. That’s what made the original so fun and I’m glad they kept the spirit of the show.

Frank is one of those very sad, tragic individuals that if he actually did stay sober, he’d probably do very well for himself. He’s intelligent. Something he clearly passed down to some of his kids because Fiona, Lip and Ian are no slouches.

Also has anyone ever thought to tell Frank he actually does put in a very hard day’s work indeed running with some of these schemes? I guess he’d probably refer to himself an opportunist rather than a hard worker.

It’s been one episode and I already adore Fiona, Lip and Ian. They’re all brilliant and bounce of each other so well. Definitely get the bonds forged in fire with those three. Fiona runs the show but Lip and Ian are great lieutenants.

Speaking of Ian though. Big fat EW to his… I can’t bring myself to even call it a relationship. It’s not a relationship. It’s an older man having sex with a minor. It feels so icky. I mean, Kash buys him stuff? Really not good!

I’m guessing Ian and Kash will be given a relatively decent amount of time though as all three of the eldest Gallagher kids seem to be set up for love interests. Fiona with Steve. Lip has Karen (and they came up with the oddest ever test to see if Ian was actually gay, I add! BJ under the table while her mom was in the next room? OK, why not! Shows not called Shameless for nothing, I guess!), Wonder how many of the three “couples” will be standing by the final episode?

Let’s talk about a non-Gallagher for a second. Steve looks and acts like a trust fund baby. There, I said it early. He looks so out of depth and seriously has no game. The Southside might just eat him up and spit him back out if he’s not careful! All episode it felt like something wasn’t quite clicking with him and low and behold he’s a car thief. I’ll actually be more surprised if that’s all he’s hiding. If he can do that for a living, then who knows what other secrets could come out down the line!

Steve as a lens to this chaotic, crazy, whirlwind of a family worked well even if all it did was highlight how very out of touch he is with Fiona. For now, at least. I feel like they have potential to be a good couple. Maybe. I like their chemistry and it would be nice for Fiona to have something for herself as she seems to put everyone else first.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I was thinking I’ll be making comparisons to the UK version all the way through and there were definitely some familiar points but actors wise, I think they’re all brilliant. Frank and Fiona’s in particular were the two standouts.

Characters: First Impressions

Frank – I’ve worked in hospitality and therefore encountered my share of functioning alcoholics. Frank is spot on. He’s a delight to watch when he gets going on a rant and extremely well cast.

Fiona – adore her. She’s so resourceful and down to earth. Which I know is probably a result of her circumstances but she’s written very well and acted beautifully. Just a very organic portrayal. 

Lip – knows he’s more intelligent than everyone else and that's probably gonna come back to bite him at some point.

Ian – sort of adorable. Really not a fan of his “relationship” with Kash though. He’s the quintessential middle kid, isn’t he?

Debbie, Carl and Liam – not much to say about them honestly. They’re there and I like the scenes they do have.

Kev and Veronica – everyone needs friends like these two! Completely and unapologetically themselves and I am here for it.

Steve – you are shady young man...

As of right now I've only read/listened through chapter 31 of Mist and Fury and have had time at work to dissociate and think about it. Here's some thoughts on the some characters.

Please keep in mind that these are my opinions and I would love to hear others' thoughts on the characters as well as long as we don't spoil anything past what I've read.

Anyway here we go:

Feyre: she's complex and simple at the same time. I like how she's more trusting of Rhysand and how well she's fitting in with the Inner Circle. I'm excited to see what powers she posses and how well she can master them.

Rhysand: I have loved him since day one. We love a bad boy. The way he helped Feyre during the trials, the way he was so quick to send Mor to yoink her from the spring court when Tamlin locked her in and she literally encased herself in darkness. I love that he is so kind and selfless when it comes to his people. His sacrifices during Amarantha's reign of terror were made for his people. He loves them all and he cares deeply for them. And he cares for his Inner Circle even more. The bonds he has with each of them. The fact that he buys jewelry for Amren just because. I can see him and Azriel and Cassian being in a boy band. I'd pay the $3 I have to my name to see that. But it's the way he cares for Feyre that makes me lowkey swoon. He's kind, he's patient, he gives her the choice of what she wants to do, he treats her as an individual and not as a prisoner or as property. He wants feyre to succeed, to be able to protect herself, he wants her to be who she is unapologetically. She doesn't have to dress up or plan things. She just has to be herself and that's enough for Rhys. He treats her as if shes his equal. As of right now I fully believe that the mating bond clicked into place for Rhys but not for Feyre just yet. This man truly has me in a chokehold. Also the boy bands front man/ guitarists.

Cassian: where to begin with him? I love this man so much. He's funny. From what I can tell he has/had a thing for Mor. I joked about him Mor and Azzy being in a throuple. I do think he has a thing for Nesta. He's obviously a great fighter and I like the way he's training Feyre so far. I hope to see more of him in the future. Also he's the drummer with chaotic energy who always ends up wearing at least 3 bras that had been flung up to the stage by the bra wearing fae.

Azriel: sweet boy. A baby. He's quiet and shy and obviously likes Mor which just adorable. I want to hear more of his story. I just hope he's happy. He's the boy bands quiet bassist but has the voice of an angel.

Mor: lowkey gives me Alice Cullen vibes and we love her. I think she's a great friend to Feyre and the friendship they have will last forever. She's smart and apparently very powerful and just like to have fun. We love her and her goofy little attitude.

Amren: I'm a little weary of her but I think she's a badass. "Vampire fae" as I called her to my friend. She knows what to do to get the job done like giving Feyre the necklace to get through the Prison. Plus she is kind to the locals which is a bug plus. Her story is super interesting and I can't wait to hear more of it.

Tamlin: I loved Tam in the first book and I get that he's gone through trauma with Feyre Under the Mountain but that does NOT give him the right to treat Feyre the way he did. In a recent post I called him something along the lines of a fucking asshole which is true because he is. He never listened to Feyre's needs or wants. I get that he loves her and doesn't want to lose her but the way he treated her, pushed her away while trying to hold her close, is what broke her and made her leave. That being said I still love this character but he has fucked up so bad in my eyes that I don't think I can go back to loving him like I did. I'm so mad at him. Like all that respect is gone. Like Tamlin, baby, you're a little be delulu. I truly hope he can redeem himself.

Lucien: I will die for this man. He was my absolute favorite in the first book and I get that his loyalties lie with Tamlin but he did try to stand up for Feyre. That has redeemed him a small amount. That being said. He is still my sweet baby angel.

Bonus:

Alis: a servant who isn't afraid to speak her mind and won't put up with anyone's bullshit. She took in her nephews. A queen. No notes. I love this woman with my whole heart.

Heya. I love the matchups you’ve been doing, and I wanted to request a romantic Hazbin Hotel matchup (only characters I wanna ask to exclude are the angels. I like them, but I fancy myself more a sinner than a saint)

Personality: Outwardly I’m fairly calm, albeit a bit reserved and express myself largely through sarcasm and dry humor. I can also be a bit harsh and abrasive when in a bad mood. Inwardly though, I’m quite sensitive, and perhaps a little timid. I always do my best to be considerate and empathetic to people. I’m also very free-spirited, as well as very introspective and thoughtful. I do also have a silly/goofy side that emerges around people I’m comfortable enough with.

My love languages: Physical contact and words of affirmation (the latter I will generally be shy about both giving and receiving, but I love it deep down).

Appearance: I’ve got medium length messy hair and I like to wear black t-shirts, gray distressed jeans, and a leather biker jacket. Definitely on the lanky side too.

Likes: Spending time with friends/loved ones, creative writing, acting, singing, playing videogames (DMC V is one of my faves), and discussing in-depth topics.

Dislikes: Being told what to do, having to be organized (I’m lazy by nature), waking up early, condescending people.

Other: One trait I find very attractive is being unapologetically affectionate. I struggle with things like trust and vulnerability, so what I really look for in a gf is that she’s warm and affectionate and loving enough that I can trust her and be myself around her without reservation (cuz I also tend to have a slightly shy/tsundere reaction to receiving affection, so I appreciate someone who will keep giving me affection regardless of how I respond, and also who will be receptive to my affection when I do show it).

✹ I'd like to think that Cherri was the one who made the first move when it come to you two interacting with each other at the very least. She probably met you in a more chaotic part of hell and saw that you either were in a bad situation or were going to be in a bad situation and decided to help you out.

✹ Ever since then it was hard to get rid of her from your life, she loved your calm and sarcastic nature since it seemed to clash well with her more chaotic nature and it toned her down just a bit so she didn't get into fights all of the time

✹ When she noticed that you had a more silly and goofy side she absolutely adored it and would do just about anything to make it come out. She would take you to your favorite places, get you your favorite things just to see you smile or that side come out

✹ The minute she realized that she liked you she wasted absolutely no time in dragging you aside and confessing that she wants to be with you in a more romantic sense. She was a little awkward about it but nothing too out of the ordinary.

✹ She would be a very touchy person, always have an arm slung around your shoulder whenever the two of you were close, leaning her body against yours for support even when she didn't need it, grabbing your waist (even though you're a guy) and pulling you closer towards her. She makes it known that she loves you.

✹ She loves you without restraint constantly complimenting you and telling you how good you look, giving you random gifts that she found, going out with you. She doesn't mind that you act all cold when she gives it to you, she finds it cute and it only encourages her to do it more and more

✹ You both don't wake up early at all. She seems to me like more of a night time person so she might sleep in extremely late then in the middle of the night start dragging you around hell and going to clubs with you. Although if you weren't in the mood for that then she'd just blow stuff up with you.
