📊 How to Use Tropes Without Turning Your Story into a YA Checklist

You can tell when a book was written by vibes and TVTropes alone.

It’s got: ☑️ the reluctant chosen one ☑️ the love triangle ☑️ the mysterious brooding boy™ ☑️ the sassy best friend ☑️ the dead parents ☑️ the villain with daddy issues ☑️ the scene where someone says “you don’t know what I’m capable of” and walks away dramatically

And like… that’s fine.

Tropes are tools. But here’s the thing: they are starting points, not story goals.

If your plot reads like it was drafted by a checklist in a Pinterest caption, it might be time to recalibrate. Here's how to actually use tropes without turning your book into a YA Mad Libs generator:

🧩 Tropes Are Patterns--Not Presets

A trope is a pattern, not a requirement. It’s not a law. It’s not a plug-and-play feature. And it’s definitely not your plot.

The “enemies-to-lovers” arc? That’s a container. What you put inside it, that’s where the originality lives.

The goal isn’t to avoid tropes. It’s to do something interesting with them.

→ Why are they enemies? → What does the “love” cost them? → What happens if they fail to become lovers?

Tropes don’t carry the story. The conflict does.

⚔️ Complicate the Familiar

Here’s a trick: if a trope feels too easy, break it in half.

Examples: → “Reluctant chosen one” → okay, but what if they wanted it, and then hated it once they got it? → “The mentor dies” → cool, but what if the mentor fakes their death to manipulate the protagonist? → “Sassy best friend” → no. Make them real. Give them pain. Give them depth. No more walking punchlines.

Tropes are scaffolding, not shortcuts. Add weight. Add doubt. Add betrayal.

🕳️ Interrogate Why You’re Using It

Ask yourself: → Do I love this trope or do I feel like I have to include it? → Am I doing this because I’ve seen it done… or because it serves my story? → Is this trope the only interesting thing about this scene?

If your answer is “because that’s what YA stories do,” delete it. Go deeper.

💔 Tropes Aren’t Substitutes for Character Arcs

You can’t use “grumpy x sunshine” and call it development. Tropes are flavors, not meals.

Give us: → Choices with consequences. → Conflicting values. → Character growth that costs something.

Otherwise? Your grumpy guy is just a Pinterest moodboard with a pulse.

🧨 Use Reader Expectations Against Them

You want to use a trope and not make it predictable? Weaponize it.

Example: → Start with a love triangle. Let the MC fall hard. Then have both love interests realize they’re in love with each other. → Use the “chosen one” trope… but make it about dismantling that myth entirely. → Introduce the “villain redemption arc” and let them choose to stay bad because it makes more sense for them.

Set up the pattern. Then snap it in half. That’s how you surprise a jaded reader.

Final thoughts from your local trope goblin:

→ Tropes aren’t the problem. It’s treating them like a checklist instead of a narrative engine. → A good trope doesn’t make your story good. How you twist it does. → If a story reads like it was built from Tumblr quotes and nothing else—it’s gonna flop.

So go ahead. Use the trope. Then ruin it. Make it weird. Make it hurt. Make it yours.

🧼 First things first, after you wake up make sure to drink water to boost your metabolism throughout the day! Also, create a mind movie so you can watch it everyday after you wake up.

Now, take your journal and start writing about your dream, ideal higher self, ask yourself questions like ‘What reality do i want to create?´ 'Who do i look up to?’ ‘What is the behavior I need to change about myself?’ ‘What's a new habit that I would like to create?’ ‘What is a thing I can focus on right now?’. After we have in mind who we want to become, it's important that every little decision you make today is centered to achieve your goals, and become your dream self. You can listen to a podcast while doing this so you get motivation!

💶 Then, head to the bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror and start repeating positive affirmations, such as ‘I am so beautiful’ or ‘My hair looks so pretty today’, even if you don't believe it, having a positive mindset is going to help us to stay in track with our goals!

Take care of your teeth, Liz says that our smile is one of the most important things in a person, and one of the key things that is going to make you more attractive! so, make sure to brush your teeth, floss, clean your tongue, etc.

🛣 Liz has a rather simple skincare routine, since her skin is so sensitive, it only consists of using a foam cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream to help with her eye bags.

Next step is to research and find our own personal clothing and makeup style, find out your body type, personal color, face shape, etc. It doesn't matter if you have to mix multiple styles that already exist to make your own! The most important thing is to feel comfortable while wearing those clothes or having that type of makeup on your face.

🏔 Liz doesn't like to force herself to have breakfast, she just dont eat if she's not hungry, however if you are hungry rather than focusing on calories focus on how nutritious your meal is. Whatsoever if you are not hungry and you are not going to eat, make sure to always take your vitamins and supplements!

✸ ꒰ study routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆

Yes, it's time to drink a little more water!

⛰ Liz doesn't have a settled study routine but, it's important to spend our time wisely, if you can finish an assignment way before the time it's due, DO IT! Also, she emphasized that knowledge leads to confidence. If you put effort in your studies, every little thing in your life will slowly fall into place.

✸ ꒰ workout routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆

First, set healthy goals, like toning up your body or building muscle, try not to make ‘just being skinny’ your goal.

🧩 second, don't measure yourself with a scale or measuring tape and focus on how you look in the mirror, are you satisfied? if you are then you are done with the intense workout routine!

Liz goes to the gym and has her own personal training program, but here’s some kind of exercises she recommends; weight training, pilates and dancing with her main focus being toning up her abs and butt.

🏄‍♀️ Remember to drink water and that consistency is more important than perfection, go at your own pace, it doesn't matter if you can't do a 2 hour workout and look snatched in 3 days and you can only do a 5 minute workout, every little effort adds up!

✸ ꒰ shower and self care routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆

Before showering, do dry brushing to exfoliate your skin and increase circulation (1-2 times per week). Then use shampoo and conditioner, research to find the best one for you, what may help others won't help you. Liz also uses a hair mask 1 to 2 times per week to get that shiny silk hair.

🎾 After showering take some time to shape and pluck your eyebrows depending on your face shape and what impression you want to give! 

Liz uses face masks 1 to 2 times per week to cleansing her face deeply, then she does her skincare. After applying all the products do a lymphatic massage on your face and neck, you can also cool down your face with massagers or cold spoons for an extra depuff.

🍾 For self care, you can journal again, search for shadow work prompts, think of what things you should unlearn and relearn and don't forget to practice gratitude. Or you can take time to clean your room or house, you deserve to have a clean safe place! 

Oh! and don't forget to drink water again.

✸ ꒰ night routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆

🧃 Time for dinner! (only if you are not full yet), again, make sure to focus on nutrients rather than calories. Don't forget to drink a glass of water with your dinner. You can watch a documentary while eating to keep gaining even more knowledge.

Now, do your oral hygiene routine again. Also, put on eyelash conditioner and serum to wake up with perfect lashes! Then wear a silk cap or do a protective hairstyle to protect your hair from getting damaged while you're sleeping.

🍵 Then get in bed and drink a cup of tea with collagen to start relaxing your body. and it's finally time to manifest! watch your mind movie again and use your most useful method (affirming visualizing, subliminals, etc.), don't forget to ask god, the universe or whatever you believe in for signals and help!

Afterwards, you can read an inspirational book like ‘atomic habits’ or ‘the art of thinking clearly’ to keep nourishing your brain. keep a reachable goal like reading 5 pages everyday and then decide if you want to continue reading or not.

🥬 Before sleeping listen to a guided meditation, liz have one to be more confident and one to attract money, choose one that aligns with your goals!

Finally fall asleep in a healthy sleeping position, Liz sleeps in her back looking at the roof, but you can choose your favorite position, don't forget to get a pillow that fits the position (example: tall and lofty pillow -> for sleeping on your side)

This reading is not about will you fall for someone, it's about will someone fall for you AND express it to you. This reading does not cover, who the person is nor the relationship. This reading is for, if you are curious about your love life and about if anyone will come forward. It gives you a chance for reflection, to think about how ready you truly are. Of course, if someone approaches you but they are already taken or you feel something unpleasant intuitively, then it should be a clear no. But what if this person is ok, just not who you want? Well, here is a chance to think about it, to think about how ready you are to give a chance to love. At the beginning I have added a "your attitude towards (new) love" to help you identify, if you the pile could be accurate for you. Also, this is meant for everyone, no matter your gender preference.

1.💟🤝📸💣📊💘 Your attitude towards (new) love: You look at it as something you want to experience. As something that brings two people together, unites them. It's a path you wish to walk. It looks like you are very ready to connect with someone and to fall in love. Whether you are experienced or not, you seem to know that romance can come with many filters and fantasies, illusions and dreams. With highs and lows. But you seem to be telling me that it's part of the romance journey. The emotions and to ride the emotions, it's what makes it love. You are also talking about possibilities. Like think about all the things you can do and experience with your partner. Not just the romantic and 18+ stuff. But in general, all the things you can do as a couple. You might be into showing off your love life online, as in taking pictures together and of each other and posting it online. Or maybe tiktoking.

Your person could be a student. At least, it looks like you are dealing mainly with students. With people, who can be very picky and opinionated and about body counts and doing things to experience and fit in. But the cards do say a true lover will make a move on you in October!

Like you have so much love to give and that you are a very caring person. But it looks like it's also causing you a little bit of worry. You seem to be saying that you know people take advantage of people like you. Being nurturing, you might easily seem to be the perfect person for a rebound. So you may experience trust issues, worrying you might get used by others.

There is a message about other people's wisdoms. Like listen to different people and their stories. There are people, who know more than you do. It doesn't matter, if it's about experience or if this is more from a psychological perspective, just there are people with wisdom, so pay attention. I'm also seeing a message about rolemodels. That can be parents, celebrities, friends, but nonetheless rolemodels. This might be more meant as a reminder to you that people perceive value in different ways. The cards are also talking about people being strong willed. They know what they want and they are very much in their power and swimming in self-confidence. Don't let them make you feel like you have to please them and do what they want. No, it's important that you find your own inner strength, your own inner power. Stay true to yourself, but remember you don't need to prove yourself to anybody.

3.😶‍🌫️♟️🏆🔆🔑🩷 Your attitude towards (new) love: Child-like wonder. It looks like you are rather open to love. You love the fun and the magic of love. However, it looks like at this time you feel like it might be something you'll never have. It looks like you want to be your authentic self and not pretend and not be with someone just for the sake of being, nor for the sake of fitting in and belonging. You want healthy boundaries and you won't settle for less. You want something real, you want true love. That the person sees only you. But when looking at reality, you could feel like there are too many demands and you could feel like an outsider looking in, wondering, if you'll ever have love in your life.

Discrimination as well. It seems you'll be dealing with people, who will discriminate you, judge you and compare you to others. You will be dealing with people, who care a lot about what other people think and about what's expected of them and from them. Someone here seems to not follow their heart, but rather follow what other people expect them to choose, who people expect and want them to be with and benefits. And benefits here also means status and money and profession, fame, success and career opportunities. Also, family background, for example asian marrying an asian, rich marrying a rich person. Yeah, these people focus on such things, they focus on the future and how much they can achieve and become wealthier, richer through a relationship. So it's all about what others think and say and expect and benefits in every way possible. The good news is that there will be romance. Now, because what was mentioned earlier, you could feel a bit of like an outsider, you could be made feel that way. But the romance, this person will be different from the above mentioned type of people. They are visionaries and they might as well have great inheritance and achievements but they are different. They could be like an outsider, someone authentic. This romance person won't be someone you know from your inner circles, they aren't your friends. It looks like it's someone new. I don't know why, but it's like I want to say that somehow you are both kinda different and I feel like it has to do with your views, like you are on the same team about something, like you share the same visions, path, something like that. For example you two believe in true love. You have lots of messages and communication coming your way. A message about your path. Kinda like what I already said. It's like you are on the same path perhaps in a more philosophical way, the way you think about something, something like that. This person has the courage to be free, to be their authentic self and it looks like it will resonate with you. You are a match, you are meant to become a couple, to be a couple. It's a new phase, a new beginning for you.

4.🥶🥵🥨🧩🎭❤️‍🔥 Your attitude towards (new) love: You are looking at love as a challenging path to walk through. It's a risk. Like a relationship can end with leaving a bad taste in your mouth or it can be a happy ending. It's impossible to know. There are the highs and the lows. There are droughts and famine and sometimes there is abundance and rainbows and unicorns. No matter how good something appears at first, you never know, if for example you will suddenly get cheated on. So sometimes you might be feeling more optimistic about it, but sometimes you can't help but focus on the negative or on the negative things that could happen. You are neither excited about love nor closed off from love. You seem to be simply stating that love is a challenge.

5.🖼️👑💧🙏🐒❤️ Your attitude towards (new) love: It looks like you think it would look good to have a partner. It would bring stability to have a partner. Kinda like an asset? Especially, if you are a female into male. It's like you are saying it's a scary world out there, it would feel safer to have a man by your side. You want someone, who is 100% devoted to you. Actually, the cards are showing you wanting them not to be nice to other women, to make it clear that they only want to be with you. It looks like you think it's important to have a partner and to be seen with a partner.

“That’s not where that goes,” Peeta insists, but laughs anyways at my antics as I try to shove the misfit piece into the puzzle between us.

“Well, it’s going to be,” I say with determination, half for his entertainment, pushing the piece back down as soon as it pops up again. “Ugh!”

“Katniss.” His voice is soft and warm. A tone that would typically fill me with joy but tonight fills me with dread. Because I know what he’s about to say.

As if reading my mind, his hand comes up to rest on my forearm, causing me to jolt slightly. I’m still not used to him touching me again, not since before he was hijacked, and every little contact sends a shiver or buzz straight to my core.

Maybe I’m just extremely touched starved. Or maybe I’m just starved for him. For the feel of his hands on me, the feel of him beside me in the darkness. For the feel of him and whatever used to exist between us before.

“We can finish tomorrow,” he suggests and I notice not for the first time the blue and purple circles under his eyes.

“Yeah,” I whisper, dropping the ill fitted piece into the box to my left and nodding. Trying not to look too disappointed.

Since Peeta’s been back in Twelve, we’ve had breakfast and dinner together almost daily, we’ve begun our memory book to memorialize those we’ve lost, we sometimes talk on the phone. Occasionally we even go for walks into town together and watch the shops being rebuilt.

But today was special. Today is my birthday and Peeta was the only person to remember. Which is fine by me. Because truly, he’s the only person I wanted to spend it with.

For my birthday, Peeta brought me a small cake, made with chocolate and buttercream and my name frosted in cursive across the top. It was the prettiest thing I’ve seen in months and it caused my heart to skip a beat, seeing him there in my doorway, looking so happy and holding the dessert with both hands.

But the cake could only last so long and after we were finished eating, I had to come up with another way of keeping him here in my presence.

The only issue is I had none. I had nothing of interest that could hold him here, not even on my birthday, and I soon found myself dreading the moment he would inevitably have to go.

But to my surprise, and honestly my delight, Peeta went digging through the closet in the living room where my mother stashed all our old knick knacks from when I was child. And he soon came up with an ancient green puzzle my parents must have done together decades ago.

Puzzles were never something I enjoyed doing. My father and Prim did them together when she was small, both of them having an insane amount of patience I severely lacked. And after he died, I could barely tolerate looking at the few boxes of them we had, even when Prim begged me to help her finish them.

But tonight when Peeta dug one out from the bottom of my mother’s pile I easily accepted his invite. I would have accepted just about any activity he wanted to do. Anything to spend more time in his presence.

But evidently time isn’t on my side here and I’ve prolonged our goodbyes enough. Because it’s finally time to let him go and I have nothing left here to make him want to stay.

I can’t explain know why but I have the most irrational fear of crying as I haul myself up off the ground and walk him towards the door. I feet feel like they’re made of concrete and a pit begins to grow in my stomach as he pulls on his jacket and opens the door.

“Happy birthday, Katniss,” he whispers, turning back in the threshold and staring at me for a long moment.

He hesitates, seemingly debating with himself, before finally reaching out and taking my hand in his, giving it a small squeeze.

And I want to launch myself at him then, I want to wrap my arms around his neck and hold on for dear life. I want to ask him to stay with me tonight and hold me in bed and be there should the nightmares come. Less than a year ago at this time I could have maybe said those words.

But not now. Not tonight. Maybe not ever again. Maybe things between us would never progress to that kind of intimacy again. The kind where I could ever be so vulnerable and unafraid of rejection. Where I could ask for something so exposing and expect anything but a gentle denial in return.

But he remembered my birthday, I reminded myself. He remembered my birthday and he made me a cake and he’s here in Twelve. He’s just down the road and that’s better than where he was six months ago.

“Thank you,” I murmur, probably a full minute too late. “Thank you for everything, Peeta.” I don’t know why but his name feels foreign on my tongue, the two syllables feeling strange as I speak them aloud.

He stares at me for a few more seconds, his cornflower eyes so soft and kind as he lingers in my doorway. But like everything else, this moment passes too. And then he really does have to go home.

“Goodnight, Katniss,” he says, his voice like a caress as he finally turns and goes, walking down my porch steps and then down the road, the sun setting with an orangey hue in the background.

“Goodnight, Peeta,” I whisper as I watch him walk further and further away from me. “Come back soon, please. Pretty, pretty please, come back soon.”

I just have to thank everyone I’ve met and helped me through this past year I seriously love y’all sooooo much- like words can’t even explain it, I just love and thank all of you guys. Getting Puzzol 🧩hints from his wife

It's Flora's birthday and one of the things Alfendi is focused on is stumping his father on a puzzle 🧩 but before heading to Flora's birthday party he asks help. (Fic under the cut)

I don't have much experience with writing Lucy's accent or writing in general but here goes

"Lucy is there something we're running from that l'm not aware of", Alfendi cried as he held on for his life to the cars grab handle.

"No", she giggled as she turned the steering wheel to turn into the street leading to Scotland Yard.

"Then what the hell are you speeding for", Al exclaims

As the car slows to a stop and the car's doors open and the two detectives emerge, Lucy playfully responds, "oi you said it was important, "Prof" ".

"Really Lucy the old nickname", Fendi grumbles as he tries to recover from the drive.

"And yes it is important...", he adds Al mischievously unbeknownst to his wife who has already made her way to Scotland Yard's steps. He was there for his magnum opus the puzzle sure to stump his father and Flora's gift which he couldn't store at home due to Lucy regularly inviting Flora and Kat for tea.

The two make their way into the building passing the many busy offices and coworkers making their way to a wing of Scotland Yard in which Alfendi and Lucy both had their offices, much better offices than the one they first met in.

As Alfendi goes to his office to retrieve the his masterpiece of a puzzle and Flora's gift, a beautiful ornate vase with an apple theme. Shuffling through one of the many open boxes in the messy office he spots the puzzle he had jotted after a tiresome case. Storing it in his suit pocket departing from his office he had one more stop to make.

He makes his way to Lucy's office to get ready to head to the restaurant his family had reserved for Flora's birthday, he sets the gift box on a wooden table.

"'eeeee is that Flora's gift" Lucy excitedly says as she makes her way to the box before getting stopped in her tracks by her tall redheaded husband as he steps front of her causing her to bump into him

"Lucy I'm afraid cannot let you do that", he chuckles.

"Eh why not?", she inquires.

"You my dear have a tendency to tell Kat or Flora what their gift is, he playfully remarks.

"I don't think like that comment Inspector Layton", she says feigning offence.

"And besides I need your help for something", he informs her.

"Oh, what for Alfendi", she responds with curiosity.

"A puzzle I've been working on in my free time to stump my father, imagine the Great Professor Layton beat by the unsolvable puzzle created by none other than his own son", he mischievously grins as he hands Lucy a piece of paper.

Lucy reading over the puzzle while Alfendi lets his ego go to his head. After he's done he walks over and watches Lucy attempt to solve the puzzle.

"I've got it", she excitedly exclaims.

"No, there's no possible way", Alfendi cries.

Lucy adds," 'eres a hint, maybe don't write how you created the puzzle on the receipt you left in the office from lunch last week.

"Wha-",he attempts to ask before a thin peice of paper is waved in front of his nose.

"Damnit", he grumbles in defeat.

"Cheer up it was a good puzzle if it weren't for the hints it would've stumped me good", Lucy says standing on her tippy toes to give him a quick peck on the cheek to cheer him up.

He gives her a bashful smile before making their way out of Scotland Yard, and speeding off to Flora's birthday party.

There’s a full moon out tonight. It bathes your skin in a pretty dulcet glow as you lie with your back to Colter, a sleeping bag draped over your naked form. Good timezone starshines! Storms can be really scary for some littles, and with there being massive snow storms right now, i think a lot of caregivers and sitters could use some advice on how to comfort their little ⁺　　◍ 　 . 　 ⁺　　☆　　⁺ 　 . 　 ◍　　⁺

⟣𓂃 Put on their favorite show/movie ⧼ 📺 ⧽

Sometimes the loud noises from the wind, or branches hitting the window can cause some spooks. Turn on something your regressor might find entertaining [and distracting] and snuggle up with them while the storm passes. Try and avoid tv in the event alarms are being played, and instead opt for a streaming service or even music to prevent more anxiety

⟣𓂃 Close the blinds or curtains on the window ⧼ 🪟 ⧽

Along with the noise, sometimes seeing things blow past the window, or seeing how hard everything is coming down [including seeing things like lightning] can cause a little one to go running. Try and close the blinds or curtains to keep them calm

⟣𓂃 Talk to your little ⧼ 🗣️ ⧽

Have a conversation about their favorite things, or what you wanna do after a storm to help keep them distracted. Talk about how excited you are to have fun with them after the storm is over

Talk and comfort your little through the storm. Affirm them that they are safe, and that you're there to protect them. Remind them how much they are loved, and anything else needed to put their mind at ease

Square breathing, or 4-7-8 breathing can be a great way to help keep your little one focused on you and themselves, instead of the scary going on around them

Aware of a storm coming ahead? Plan out some comforting indoor fun for you and your little one to prepare for whatever comes your way!

⟣𓂃 Nest with them while using comfort items ⧼ 🧸 ⧽

Nesting is the act of well... quite literally making a human nest 🤭Take some blankets and some pillows and form a circle or "U" shape around your little. Add some of their comfort items, or things that make them feel safe to keep them comfortable as you ride out the storm together

⟣𓂃 Let them ask questions ⧼ 🤔 ⧽

Sometimes the best ways to let out some anxiety are by letting your regressor ask you questions about the storm as its happening, or even questions about what you can do AFTER the storm ends!

I don't think I'll read these interviews everyone is talking about :/ I thought hard about it, I've read the general points of it, but I don't think reading them will make me enjoy YINGDU more. Quite the opposite actually.

I don't understand why they had to get interviewed to clear things up. By why, I mean, this situation is fucked up and I don't get how things got like this in this industry.

First. Can't the fans just wait and see? We're grownups, stop treating us like children who cried to get a lollipop. We'll still be here next year. Trust your fanbase.

Second... in what kind of world were the animators under pressure to the point they created plot holes and new timelines by accident? I'm extrapolating but, for real, how fucked up is it that they decided to rush a show that popular for the sake of airing it early? I'm sorry, was the money we spend on merch every few weeks not enough? I'm just mad at the production, honestly. Because they made a big mistake.

They're rushing in like bulls in a china shop. The character PVs were a mistake as well. They should have been released after YINGDU, to manage our expectations on characters that were yet to be introduced. I used to think it was an actual teaser, a window on how Lu Guang saw them or what they will become because of Lu Guang's meddling with the timeline. Now, I'm starting to think they needed strong marketing to get people's attention.

The whole thing makes my viewer experience less than optimal. So I'll keep writing meta but I won't take these interviews into account. 🧩Meta is for fun🧩, mere interpretation, only fanon, and that's okay. Meta is gamble. Meta is character study and theories on plot twists.

We're not suppose to write season 3 in advance. So it makes sense to me to keep having fun on what the show and the official content bring us. But as far as I'm concerned, the interviews didn't happen. It's not denial, just-

When I was studying cinema in university, my teacher once told me a very harsh truth: if you have to explain the sequence you filmed, then you didn't film it right. Sadly, in this context, production limitations were at fault but the lasting impression is the same.

Do you realize how insane it is that a creative team has to spell their work out to their fans? How humiliating it must be? There's revealing easter egg, teasing next season, spilling spoilers on accident, and then there is whatever that was. I feel for the creators and animators who worked themselves to exhaustion to bring something as beautiful as YINGDU to life. Because this season? It isn't perfect and it's inconsistent and different but no one can call it ugly. I would lick my screen because the image does look tasty lmao. My heart bleeds for all the people involved in this season.

Of course, that's only my stand on the topic. I might take different directions in my interpretation than others, that's all. Aaaaaand? Yes. That's okay 🥰

As an artist myself, I feel like the situation is kind of disappointing for the people who worked on YINGDU. That's why I'll take the canon as it is. I don't want to mourn what could be or should have been. I want to enjoy what is.

As a fan, I get that we're happy with every nugget of information on what's coming next. The lore in Link Click is still blurry and while I honestly want to believe it is an artistic choice and will stay under control, I can't help but fear it's the result of bad writing. But. What if it is? Meh, I'm still here, enjoying myself. Because I love this show as it is, I see the flaws and the beauty in it. I'll be there.

Occult Reward Store

⏩ To immediately raise occult ranks, set soul journey levels, and give werewolf dormant abilities through the reward store.

An additional way to spend your Sims' excess Satisfaction Points!

Be reminded that you cannot lower an occult rank with the reward store. You can only go higher up the ghost/ spellcaster/ vampire/ werewolf ranks.

You can, however, adjust the soul journey levels to be higher or lower with the reward store. Non-ghost Sims are locked from levels 7 and 8 soul journey.

You may also add werewolf dormant abilities in the reward store.

Setting an occult rank for a non-occult Sim will also turn your Sim into the corresponding occult species immediately, too!

To set your Sim as an occult species without ranks, such as Alien, Mermaid, Plant Sim, Infected, or a specific ghost type, you may use my All Traits In Store.

You are also recommended to use this with my Exchange Store, which you can exchange satisfaction points for occult points to give your Sim more occult perks.

Hey guys. I’m writing an Ekko x Fem!OC fanfic on Wattpad. I have 31 chapters written so far, with 14 of them posted (the other 16 are in editing stage).

TITLE: The Sixth

SUMMARY: Shimmer is back. Two years after the war with Noxus has ended, a new gangster emerges within the undercity, now known as 'Zaun'.

Daunter is a ruthless chem-baron who has reformed the city's drug empire. He refloods the streets with shimmer and gains the title 'Silco's Heir'.

The Firelights are back in commission after two years of lax, taking down exports just like the days when Silco was still alive.

When the group arrives at an export and finds it already taken down with the barrels drained of shimmer, it becomes apparent that Daunter and his gang aren't the only ones they need to look out for. They had competition. Or... did they?

Ekko finds himself involved in a seemingly endless cat-and-mouse chase with another gang leader-a woman who moves like the wind. He wants to know what her motives are, but he has to catch her first.

"Fuck—"

It happened again. Their mission had been sabotaged, just like before. Someone had arrived before he and the Firelights had gotten there, Daunter's goons paralyzed and tied up, the barrels drained of shimmer.

Daunter was Zaun's newest chem baron—and currently it's biggest. He reintroduced shimmer to the Lanes, reflooding the streets with the purple drug.

After Silco had died and the undercity got caught up in a battle with Piltover and Noxus, shimmer had been mostly exterminated by Caitlyn and her enforcers. It still lingered in the black market, but mass exports ceased to exist. Until a few months ago, that is. Daunter crept in like slow-forming shadows caused by a rising moon. In increments so small that no one noticed until everything was drenched in its darkness.

This forced the Firelights back into action. But now, there seemed to be someone else who was intent on interrupting Daunter's operations. Ekko would have accepted the help if it wasn't for the fact that they'd taken the shimmer. He couldn't help but suspect that the culprit had ill intentions, and that put them at odds with the Firelights.

"Looks like we got competition," a distorted voice said from beside him.

Ekko turned his head to look at the masked face of Scar, a tall chirean who served as his Lieutenant and second in command. Chireans held bat-like appearances (minus the wings), with large ears, grey-toned skin, bat-like noses, and neon green eyes.

Both men stood atop a nearby roof, out of hearing distance of the restrained goons on the cargo airship.

"More like another enemy," Ekko responded.

Scar processed his leader's remark before speaking again. "You think they got bad intentions?"

"They're up to no good if they're stealing shimmer. Probably selling it themselves to make bank," he said pointedly.

Scar took in Ekko's words. It made sense and sounded like the most likely scenario. Though, one thing stood out to him.

"Why would they tie em' up? They already have em' paralyzed somehow. It's like they're leaving 'em here for someone to arrest or something."

Ekko considered this but had already thought up a reason. "The paralysis might not last long. Could be a precaution."

Scar nodded, agreeing that his reasoning seemed plausible.

"What should we do? Seems we keep missing 'em. Should we put out scouters across the city?"

Ekko exhaled through his nose, mulling over Scar's suggestion. It did sound like a good idea, but he had to also consider the risks. He didn't want to put his people in danger. This wouldn't be like their typical 'element of surprise' mission. This would involve spying, waiting, and watching—usually from the shadows to avoid detection. Despite this, Ekko had faith in the Firelights.

"Yeah. Could assign shifts. But we still need to keep most of our numbers back at the hideout in case of any surprise missions."

Scar agreed. Daunter was becoming more and more unpredictable, and there were times when they had to act quickly, creating plans with only hours to spare.

The conversation between the men ended there and Ekko mounted his aeroglider. He flew over to the transport ship and hopped off the board, sliding it behind his back to attach to the magnetic piece on his coat. He neared Daz, one of the newer Firelights.

Daz was a little on the shorter side, his body mass nothing impressive. But he was quick, and that made up for his size.

"You find anything useful? Anything they might've left behind?"

Daz stood from his crouching position. "Nothing. But this guy says that it was a bunch of people dressed in black wearing cloaks," he said.

The younger male nudged the oversized goon who was laying on the boarded floors of the airship with his booted foot.

Ekko's eyes narrowed in thought from the goon's revelation. He crouched down, deciding to take questioning the brute into his own hands.

"Did you see any faces? Anything?"

Daunter's ruffian shook his head, his double chin jigging as he did so.

"I was lucky to even see 'em in the first place. Bastards were quick as shit, bouncin' all over the place like a bunch 'a damn shimmer addicts."

Ekko stared down at the overweight man for a few moments before standing.

'Was it possible that whoever had done this was also consuming the drug to give themselves a physical advantage?'

Authoritative voices sounded from the distance, pulling him from his thoughts and signaling him and the other firelights that enforcers were nearby. Ekko yanked his aeroglider from behind his back once again, hopping onto it before instructing the other Firelights to follow him out of there.

🌞 Episode three 🌞

Whether you've been on this journey for a day or a year, doubting yourself is inevitable.

We all go through it sometimes, questioning whether any of it is real, whether you can actually do it.

What if everyone is lying?

What if it's all a big joke?

What if I can't do it?

What if I'm missing something? A hidden key, an ancient scroll with the secrets of the universe, the missing piece of the puzzle 🧩 that would finally get everything to make perfect sense?

Doubt creeps in, sends you into a spiral, and suddenly you're overwhelmed and exhausted. You're doom scrolling, overconsuming, sliding into every DM and ask box you can find with endless questions that all lead back to the same point:

Can I do this?

The answer is simple, but you refuse to see it. You're preoccupied with everyone else's journeys and success stories that you've neglected your own because

You

Are

Scared.

Why? Why are you afraid? What are you afraid of? Success? Failure? Yourself?

The truth is, you lack confidence in your own powers. You don't have to believe in anything! Not God, not the universe, not even the law itself, but you have to believe in yourself.

You have to trust yourself.

The reason you don't is because you were made to feel small and insignificant most of your life. You were told you were too young to know what you want, too immature to know what you're doing, too childish to make up your mind. You couldn't make your own decisions and now you don't trust yourself to decide and follow through.

So here's your shadow work prompt for the week, grab a pen and a paper and get to it.

When was the first time you were made to feel small?

Who decided that you were not good enough, smart enough, dedicated enough to pursue what you desire?

Why do you keep that assumption alive? Does it serve you? Does it protect you? Or is it simply the only truth you've ever known?

How can you start trusting yourself today? What small act can you start implementing daily that would prove your own powers to you?

This is your reality. You decide. So start deciding in your favour, or continue being a victim of your circumstances.

Some affirmations that could help you:

I am confident in my own powers

I trust myself infinitely

I believe in myself

I know that I'm capable of getting whatever I want

I owe it to myself to give my all to this journey

I know I can do anything I put my mind to

I am worthy and deserving of my desires

I recognise my own power and influence
