meanwhile in the skittles they sort of all come out at the same time. like they all become friends and then are like hey wait we're all gay

dorcas is lesbian, regulus is gay, pandora is pansexual, barty and evan are both bi & evan is ace

meanwhile, marlene is lesbian, mary and remus are bi, peter is aroace, and sirius cannot be bothered to label himself past "moony is pretty and girls occasionally are too"

eventually the groups begin to mingle both through quidditch and various crushes

aka marlene sees dorcas looking bored out of her mind while watching a gryffindor v slytherin quidditch match and falls in love

(she then gets hit in the face with a bludger and is in the hospital wing for a week)

eventually lily also starts crushing on pandora and james starts crushing on regulus

lily and pandora get together first because they, unlike their friends, are normal about having feelings

eventually mary also starts dating them because hell yeah polyamory

they go on cute dates in hogsmeade and spy on their friends :)

james and regulus get together next, everyone knows james loves very loudly and with all that sunshine focused on him, there was no way reg could last

james, lily, and mary are fed up with marlene pining after dorcas and they get regulus and pandora to help them set the girls up

(as it turns out, dorcas is confident until she's faced with a pretty girl with no boundaries)

of course there's also wolfstar and rosekiller

rosekiller has probably been together this whole time (nobody knows when they started dating, including them) but remus and sirius are painfully oblivious so they don't get together until 7th year and then they seem to be kissing 24/7

i just realized i haven't mentioned alice and frank yet so here they are:

they're a few years older than the marauders/valkyries/skittles

james totally had a crush on frank and lily had a crush on alice (another thing they bonded over)

regulus and alice are best friends because alice and narcissa are dating

bellatrix is still kind of insane but in a fun way (idk how to write her as a sane person 💀)

andromeda is the big sister of the skittles, and once the skittles start hanging out with the gryffindors, she becomes their big sister too

walburga and orion still suck. there is just far less angst regarding them.

sirius still runs away first because he and regulus don't get along super well yet. not so much because of houses or family, though those are contributors, but also because they're just very different people. regulus ends up moving in with narcissa and alice and is living his best life

they all go off into the world as best friends and do not die young or in pain or scared and instead live fun lives with each other in a peaceful world, as they were supposed to :)

The First. 

What is one thing that everyone wishes was free all the time? Of course, it’s food, and you were definitely someone who loved free food. So, when you saw the new ramen and boba place in the local mall was open, you were convinced. Your goal for today: get Soonyoung to pay for your lunch..

“Soonie, you love me, don’t you?” you questioned your best friend, tugging a bit on his sleeve. 

“I cannot believe you even had to ask that! Of course I do!” He wrapped his arms around your shoulders in a quick, but meaningful hug. 

“Okay so, if you love me like you say you do…” your voice droned on. “You should totally take me to the new boba shop. Please!” you held out the end of the word, begging the man.

Soonyoung looked away from you and moved his gaze to the ceiling of the store before he sighed. 

Exhaling loudly, he grabbed your hand and walked with you towards the restaurant. You quickly cheered with the hand that wasn’t in Soonyoung's. 

After arriving and ordering, you picked an empty booth to sit in as you both waited for your order number to be called.

"Thanks for paying, Soonie." 

Soonyoung smiled, his teeth showing. "You're welcome, I-" He was interrupted by the sound of their order number being called. 

Soonyoung stood up. "I'll grab them." 

“Are you sure? It might be a lot for you to carry by yourself,” you tried to stand up to help. “Let me help you.” 

Soonyoung put his hand on your right shoulder and lightly pushed you to sit down again. “It’s fine, I got it.” 

Coming back to the table from the second (and last) trip to get their food, Soonyoung sat back down across from you, making quick work of taking his wooden chopsticks apart. 

Immediately picking up your boba, you began swinging your legs a bit before speaking with a bright smile. 

"Soonieee!" 

Lifting his head up from his rice to look at you, Soonyoung smiled brightly. "Yeah?" 

"I love you," you took another sip of your tea. "And boba. I think I love boba more though." 

Soonyoung laughed. "I'm starting to think that you like the boba more than my friendship."

The Second. 

“Hey Y/N, do you want to do something today?” 

Looking up from your novel, you focused your gaze on Soonyoung. “It depends. Where do you want to go?” 

“They opened a new arcade down the street from that bookstore you really like. I wanted to check it out sometime, so I was just thinking that you could  join me.” 

You smiled. “Of course I’ll go with you Soon! Give me like ten minutes to get ready?” You gestured to the pajamas that you were currently lounging in. 

“Of course! I’m so excited!” Soonyoung sprinted off back to his room, most likely preparing the most ridiculous outfit imaginable. 

You shook your head and got up from the couch after placing the receipt-bookmark on the page before closing the novel. 

After getting dressed and grabbing a quick snack from the kitchen, you sat and waited patiently for Soonyoung, who sprinted down the stairs and stumbled about half way through, tripping a bit and catching himself on the wall. 

Of course, as one does when their best friend almost faceplants, you laugh. “Good going. You should do that again so I can record it.” 

Soonyoung, peeling himself from the wall, gave you an exasperated look. “Ha ha ha,” he walked into the kitchen. “Very funny.” 

You looked up at him. “You’re right. It was.” 

Soonyoung smacked your shoulder lightly before grabbing his keys off the counter. “You ready to go?” 

“Yeah, I’m good. Let’s go.” 

About twenty minutes later, you learned that you should never agree to going to an arcade with Soonyoung. You watched from the sidelines, sweating, as he absolutely demolished the DDR machine he found in the corner of the small inner-city arcade. 

Winning another round (and yet again breaking the highest score), Soonyoung got off the arrow-covered platform and walked to where you were sitting. 

“Are you sure you don’t want to challenge me again? I can go easy on you!” Soonyoung smiled, his gums showing. 

Laughing loudly, you argued with the man. “If you think I’m getting back on that,” you looked at the platform in disgust. “Thing, you’re absolutely insane. I love you so damn much Soonyoung, but you can’t pay me to get back on that.” 

Soonyoung scoffed. “It’s not that hard!”  “I’m sure you don’t think it is!”

The Third. 

The first thing you noticed after the countless minutes of sitting in this brightly lit room was that it was hot. You were leaning against the wall, phone on a tripod focused on Soonyoung’s movements in the wall-length mirror. 

“Soonyoung!” you whined. Across the large room, Soonyoung looked up from the ground, his thoughts interrupted. 

“Yeah?” 

“Is there no air conditioning here? Like come on, it’s a dance practice room! Do they expect their dancers to die from heat every day?” 

Soonyoung smiled, “They’re working on fixing it right now. Something broke somewhere in the building so now the whole floor is not getting AC.” 

“That’s awful. Terrible. A crime to humanity!”

“Yeah, tell me about it. I'm here every day. Though, they said it should be done within the next couple of days, so don’t worry about it.” 

Soonyoung begins the music again, and he begins dancing his routine, movements sharp and well crafted. But, as Soonyoung dances, the temperature of the room increases, and there is only so much a couple of revolving fans can do. 

When Soonyoung is done dancing, he turns to face you. “How was that?” 

You nodded and clapped. “It was amazing! Though, I’m dying. You’re lucky I love you, otherwise I would have left an hour ago.” 

Soonyoung smiled. “But you like the dance? I’ve been working on it for a while and I really just want to be done with it.” 

“Yeah! It’s amazing. You know that every dance you do is going to be perfect by the end of it! You’re incredibly talented!” 

“Thanks, Y/N. Let’s go back before you melt into a puddle that I have to mop up off the floor.” 

“We both know if that happened, you’d be making Chan mop the floor. There’s no way you’d do it yourself.”

The Fourth. 

The movie that was playing at full volume on Soonyoung’s TV was not your first choice, and you made that extremely clear to Soonyoung as you both sat next to each other on the couch for your weekly movie night. 

“I just don’t understand why you’d want to watch a horror movie when you know that you’re going to be more scared than the characters on the damn TV!” you argued to your best friend. 

“Oh, come on you scaredy cat! It’s not going to be too bad! Jihoon said this one wasn’t that bad!” 

Wrapping yourself in the blanket Soonyoung kept on the couch, you refuted the statement. “There is a 99 percent chance that Jihoon was saying that just to fuck with you in hopes you get so scared you call him crying so he can laugh at you.” 

Soonyoung thought about your statement for a second before wrapping his arm around you. “Okay, while you do have a point there,” he began, “I don’t think Jihoon hates me that much!” 

“While he might not hate you that much, he doesn’t love you like I do---of course he’d pull a useless prank on you like that.” Once the words came out of your mouth, you could feel your heart start beating faster at the words you just said. It feels…different, somehow. 

“Of course! He can’t love me nearly as much as you do!” Soonyoung yays, hugging you and rubbing his hair into your cheek.

Grimacing, you complain, “Okay, okay, please get your greasy hair off of my face.” Placing one of your hands on Soonyoung’s hairline, you push him away. 

Soonyoung lets go of the hug and leans to the other direction, pouting. “Y/N doesn’t love me anymore!”

The One. 

“Soonyoung! Did you seriously?” you mutter to yourself. After a long day in classes and stressing about the endless amount of assignments you have to do, the last thing you wanted was to come home to the shared apartment and see piles of dirty dishes by the sink. Of course, it wasn’t only the dishes that upset you: the living room was a mess of snack wrappers and empty water bottles and the TV was still on, the sleep screen lighting up the living room. The couch and coffee table were both pushed out of the way to create Soonyoung’s mini dance studio in the living room. 

“Kwon Soonyoung! Where are you?” you yelled up the stairs. 

Soonyoung peeked his head out of his bedroom door to see you halfway up the stairs. “Hey. What’s up?”

“Did you forget to do something?” Soonyoung tilted his head, thinking. 

“I don’t think I forgot to do anything? Why?”

“The sink is filled with dishes! Didn’t you say you were going to stop doing that? And the living room is a mess! None of the furniture is put back and there are wrappers everywhere! You promised that you wouldn’t leave stuff around all the time!” you angrily tell your best friend off. 

“I’m sorry! I forgot about it, I’ll go clean everything right now!” Soonyoung came out of his room and headed towards the stairs. 

“No, it's fine. I got it, just-” you sighed heavily. “Actually remember to do your chores next time, and put the living room back together.” With that, you walked back down the stairs to the kitchen, but Soonyoung was hot on your tail. 

“It’s not fine! The dishes were my chore and it’s my mess in the living room, just- move and I’ll do it.” Soonyoung began cleaning the dishes out of the sink in order to fill it with water. 

You tilted your head down to the floor, eyes watering. The angry reaction you had was finally hitting you, making you feel terrible about yelling at your best friend. 

“I’m sorry for yelling at you, Soon.” You wiped a tear off your face. “I really d-didn’t mean to. I've just had an awful day and I didn’t think about what I was doing or saying.” 

Soonyoung turned to face you, hands covered in suds. “Y/N, it’s fine. Please don’t cry,” he wiped his hands on the closest towel to him before wrapping his hands around your upper arms and making eye contact. 

“I promise everything is fine -- you were right to yell at me, because I did promise you I would stop doing these things. I love you, Y/N, more than anything, and that doesn’t stop just because you told me off for something.” 

Your eyes widened as Soonyoung kept talking. This action led Soonyoung to make a similar face, finally realizing what he said. 

“You…love me? That much?” you questioned in a meek voice, still wide-eyed. 

Soonyoung’s cheeks turned red and he looked away before whispering a small, “Yeah, I do.” 

When he finally looked back at you, he smiled. “Yeah,” he spoke louder. “I didn’t mean to say it in this context,” He looked around quickly. “But I guess now is better than never.” 

The dried tears on your cheeks begin to stiffen, but it doesn’t stop you from smiling as widely as physically possible. “I love you too, Soonie.” 

You wrapped your arms around your best friend newfound lover, tightly squeezing. Of course, Soonyoung hugged you back. 

You both quickly pulled apart when two voices scared you. 

“Soonyoung? Are you guys done making out in the middle of the kitchen?” 

“Hi, Y/N!” 

Turning around, you saw Soonyoung’s friends, Seungkwan and Seokmin. 

“Hi guys,” you began. “I guess that explains the living room being a mess?” you ask Soonyoung. 

He nods, laughing a bit. “Yeah.”

You smile. Of course.

So a lot of the time I end up shipping what's canon or implied to be canon. The two most prominent examples are StrausxRed and AzuraxAmber.

Being able to show how Straus and Red's relationship has developed throughout the novel has been an absolute delight. I love their dynamic with my whole heart. Both are societal outcasts trying to find a place for themselves in the vast Multiverse. When Straus first saves Red and welcomes her in, she falls for him like- probably within a week or two of knowing him. It took Straus a bit to reciprocate the feelings but he got there. They are definitely among the most realistic relationships in these stories.

I have to give credit where it's due though. Atem does the writing for both Straus and Red, so a lot of what makes their relationship special comes from him. It's how you get moments like these:

Footsteps and screams echo through the dark corridors of Hogwarts as Draco finds himself in one of the hallways after apparating there mere seconds ago. Getting to the right place at the right time, he immediately gets hold of some of the Slytherins, including his friends, whom he pulls with him, informing them about his – or rather Lord Voldemort’s – plan. Draco knows what he has to do, but he also knows the consequences his actions will have.

His hands are shaking, and he is having a difficult time to breathe after they walked from one side of the castle to the other, wands drawn and always at the ready in case there are any emergencies or incidents on their way. What Draco did not expect, however, is that he will find you along his way.

With a pained expression on your face, you lean against one of the cold brick walls, about to lose your footing and to fall to the ground when Draco is already at your side and catches you in his arms before you can hit the hard floor. Previously, he quickly ordered Blaise and Goyle to move on without him and wait for him until he is done here. Carefully, Draco sinks to the ground with you and places you close to him in order to be able to take a closer look at you.

“Y/N! Y/N, what happened?”, he asks you with concern in his voice and already reproaches himself internally for not being here to fight by your side. But he knows that he can’t. After all, you are on the opposite sides in this terrible war.

Slowly, you raise your head and do not seem to recognize him at first, until your vision clears, and you look directly into his worried face. You immediately push yourself closer to him, his closeness bringing you some calmness and making you feel protected and safe, although walls are blown up around you while wizards and witches give their lives in the bitter fight for Hogwarts.

“D-Draco? You are here”, you breath out, your voice rough and strained from your previous screams. You had split up into groups to face the Death Eaters, but you were separated from them when a part of the ceiling fell down, several pieces burying you beneath them. The hope that is now reflected in your eyes upon seeing him, here and with you, breaks Draco’s heart. You really think he is on your side.

It is only when you groan in pain that Draco realizes that you are clutching your leg, which is covered in blood.

“Come on, I will get you out of here”, he whispers to you and helps you straighten up, the guilt plaguing him. You are badly injured, and he was not here to prevent you from getting hurt. Carefully, he puts your arm around his shoulder so you can move faster together than if he would carry you. Since it is not anything than safe here right now, Draco hurries to get you out of there as fast as possible.

“It is not as bad as it looks. I promise”, you try to calm him down, but once your foot touches the ground you twitch in insufferable pain and pull your foot back with a hiss, your hand immediately going to your tigh where it hurts the most.

“What happened?”

“I was careless and then a part of the ceiling buried me beneath it.”

The shock on Draco’s face is enormous when he realizes what could have happened, how it could have ended with you laying under masses of bricks with no one knowing. That he could and still can lose you in this bitter war for life and death. Briefly, he carefully inspects your leg – broken – and without any hesitation, he picks you up in his arms and carries you to a safer place. The safest place would probably be where all students, who do not fight, are hiding, but if Draco asked you about it, he would have to pass this very important piece of information on. And thus, he would also leave you to a terrible fate.

“You are safe here. For the time being”, he finally says as he places you at the end of a staircase that no longer leads to where it originally should, and kneels down in front of you, stroking his hand over your cheek lovingly. Shaking, you place your own on top of his and press his palm to your skin to feel its warmth.

“Draco, if we make it to the seventh floor then-“

“Do not tell me. Please”, he almost begs you. His pleading leaves you puzzled and slowly but surely makes you doubt why he is actually here. Gently, Draco takes your hand in his and places a delicate kiss on your knuckles. You sadly watch him until you bring up the courage to ask this one question that burns on your tongue.

“Why are you here, Draco?”

The realization hits you like a train, much more painful than the pain in your leg, when he just looks at you with glassy eyes and fails to give you an answer. Tears well up in your eyes when you notice that you no longer have your loving boyfriend in front of you, but your enemy.

“Why, Draco?”, you ask him desperately, the first tear already finding its way down your cheek, but Draco does not have the heart to look into your eyes, too scared to see the pain and disappointment in them. Sighing, he shakes his head, letting it sink.

“Everything will be fine, I promise”, he manages to say while his heart contracts in pain. Suddenly, he perceives voices that are still far away, but he hears them coming closer. With trembling hands, he reaches for your wand, which is sticking out of your boot as he has made his final decision. Confused, you look back and forth between him and the wand in his hand.

“What are you going to do? D-Draco? You do not have to do this”, you stutter out as he looks directly at you with his gray eyes which seem much darker now. Gray eyes that once shone with so much affection and now only radiate a tremendous coldness that makes you shudder.

“Now listen carefully to what I say, Y/N. You have to promise me that you will not use your wand anymore”, Draco explains to you, but you can only look at him speechlessly while tears run down your cheeks in waterfalls, not knowing what he will do next.

“I am so sorry”, is the last thing he says to you before casting a spell. “Obliviate.”

With these words, Draco pulls any memories you have of him out of your mind. Every shared laughter, every shared grief, he frees you from all of it. He frees you from the burden of ever knowing him.

With one quick movement he puts your wand back in its original place and quickly stands up, watching how your face loses all emotion as you abruptly stop crying over nothing. Before he can regret his decision, he turns away from you and looks into the corridor from which he previously heard the voices. At the other end of the corridor, he discovers Neville Longbottom, who is running through Hogwarts with some students. Clenching his fists, Draco walks in the middle of the corridor, facing them from afar.

“Neville!”, Draco shouts as loud as he can, immediately gaining Neville’s attention, who now comes running towards him with his wand drawn, ready to attack. Draco swiftly runs back to where you still lean against the wall, but just as Neville turns around the corner, Draco disapparates to another part of Hogwarts.

You are safe at last.

Surrounded by nothing but rubble and ashes, Draco wanders through the last remains of Hogwarts alone. His clothes are torn apart, and his face is soiled – all signs of the bitter fight that took place here before. But now it is over. They lost.

But Draco does not care who won or lost. He chose to switch sides in the end anyway. All he wants now is one more thing: to find you and to make sure you are okay. Every time he trips over a lifeless body on the ground, he looks away in fear that he may recognize your face in one of the corpses. Pressing his hand against his aching left shoulder, he walks into what is left of the Great Hall and a glimmer of hope builds inside of him as he recognizes Neville standing in the middle of it.

Quickening his pace, Draco walks towards him, his gaze fixed on the people he is currently talking to. When Draco gets to them, however, his heart sinks and panic pervades him as he does not see you. You are not here.

Desperately searching for any signs of you, he looks around, his pulse getting faster by the second, until Neville finally taps on his shoulder and points to somewhere behind him. Draco turns around immediately, only to see you limp into the Great Hall with the help of Ginny Weasley, improvised stabilization around your broken leg.

Tears of joy well up in Draco’s eyes and he cannot help but run up to you and close you in a tight hug that almost knocks the both of you off your feet. Draco exhales in relief, clutching his arms around your fragile body, glad to hold you in his arms again, until he notices that you are trying to push him away.

Realization his Draco and he abruptly moves away from you.

“What was that supposed to mean?”, you ask him reproachfully, irritated as to why Draco Malfoy almost suffocated you in a hug.

“I- Well-“, he stutters, but the fact that you actually do not know him anymore is driving an ache through Draco’s chest again. “Where is your wand?”

“Excuse me?”, you huff out, the confusion evident on your face, but Draco quickly reaches for you wand before you can react, which pokes out of your boot, as always. Internally praying that you listened to him and did not use it when he was not by your side, he reverses the Memory Charm and watches a white streak touch your temple, piercing through your skin before vanishing completely.

You blink once, then a few times rapidly, adjusting your eyes to the light and when your gaze falls on Draco, tears well up in your eyes right away.

“Thank God”, Draco sighs in relief and hugs you tightly, but this time you actually return the hug. Weeping, you claw your hands into his shirt, your tears wetting the fabric, whispering what an idiot he had been and that he should never do this to you again. But at this moment nothing else matters.

You survived and found each other again despite the difficulties and obstacles. And from now on nothing and no one will separate you again. Ever.

Jasper was as stiff as a board. All he could do was stare out of the window, anticipating the next hour. Edward and Emmett would rotate through to check on him but otherwise, he was left alone with his thoughts. 

He had been ready for hours. He could care less about how he looked but Alice was determined for this wedding to go smoothly. Had she not been with you, he assumed she would be by his side in reassurance. She was his best friend. 

Jasper exhaled in an attempt to let go of stress but it was no use. Nothing could shake his worries. A few moments later he felt Emmett and Edward approach.

“It’s almost time,” Edward said, his voice just above a murmur. 

Jasper nodded but didn’t look at his brothers.

You paced around the room, nibbling on the edges of your fingertips. Rosalie and Bella sat on a couch not far from you, watching your anxious form, bored. Alice was the only one standing, her hands held up to keep you calm.

“He wants to do this, (Y/n), please... Just put on the dress.”

You were completely ready besides putting on the wedding gown. It was gorgeous. But your mind couldn’t think that far ahead.

“But what if he doesn’t?” You cried.

“He does,” Bella interjected.

“Jasper was terrified to even touch me six months ago...” You whined. “Maybe this is moving too fast...”

“Impossible,” Rosalie sighed. “You’ve known each other for four years. You’ve known about all of us being vampires for two. He trusts you. He wants you.”

“And I don’t see a single future where he doesn’t go through with this,” Alice placed a hand on your shoulder. You looked at her with terrified eyes. “Or a single one where you don’t either.”

You stared at Alice a little longer to see a trace of insincerity. After a moment, you found none. Even if she was lying it didn’t matter. The love you and Jasper share was greater than any possibility.

Jasper was like a statue on the altar. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe you didn’t want to go through with this, you just felt obligated. What if he killed you? What if he couldn’t stop himself while turning you? 

These questions ran through his mind until he felt Edward’s hand on his back. 

“Calm down,” He said. Jasper turned toward his brother also to see Emmett not far behind. The bulky man threw a pair of thumbs up. 

Before he could respond music sounded in the woods. Esme had pressed play on a speaker since no one hired a musician. The beginning notes of Hallelujah managed to calm him down some. You always wanted this song to play during your wedding. No matter how cheesy or cliché

For the first time that day, Jasper smiled. All the memories he shared with you flowed through his mind.

The two of you were getting married on a trail that you guys walked every morning at the crack of dawn. You were the first human he met that willingly woke up that early. He could recall the first time the two of you found this trail in high school. The smile grew wider on his face.

Once you graduated Carlisle had a cabin built not far from where Jasper stood. At any moment you were going to show up on the trail. To share forever.

“She’s coming,” Edward whispered. “Don’t get cold feet.”

“You know I can’t help that,” Jasper joked. Edward chuckled. 

Jasper stared at the woods once more, looking past the barren chairs. It was a small wedding. Only a few members of the pack sat in the seats, with Esme sitting in the front. On the other side sat your parents. 

Another moment passed and excitement fluttered. He could feel his sister’s anticipation. He could feel your worry. It was refreshing for him to know you felt the same as he did. 

Reneesme walked into view, throwing buttercups onto the trail. She smiled widely at Jasper before joining her grandmother.

You weren’t far behind Alice, Bella, and Rosalie, violently clutching onto your bouquet of flowers. You did your best to keep steady, staring down at your feet. One step at a time, you thought.

The music filled your ears in moments. It was time. All of your worries washed away when you could see the buttercups on the forest floor.

Jasper was calming you down. 

You mentally cursed him, making sure he could feel your annoyance. 

You drew in a breath when your bridesmaids found their places on the altar. You stared up at your fiance with wide eyes.

Nothing else mattered in the world for Jasper. All he could see was you. You shone brightly amongst the green hues of the forest. This image of you will forever be engraved into his mind.

The love between you both was immeasurable. Tears immediately welled up and you couldn't hold them in. If possible, Jasper would be tearing up all the same. 

Your warm hands met his and you both looked to Carlisle, who was officiating the wedding. 

“I’d like to begin by welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this most happy of days,” Carlisle began. “We know that it’s no accident that Jasper and (Y/n) are standing here before us. Now, I’m not going to ramble, so I’ll let them share their vows. (Y/n)...”

“Jasper,” You said. “I had no clue what I was walking into when entering a relationship with you. I had no idea of the adventures and possibilities that would follow.

“But I am beyond grateful for it all. The good and the bad. I’m grateful even for the good and the bad that will come. Because that’s what love does. It makes you accept the beautiful and ugly that comes with a person. It makes you vulnerable at probably the worst times. 

“So as I stand here in front of you, I am saying that I love you. This love I feel is limitless and overflowing. For you, I’m for it all. Good, bad, pretty, and ugly. I am with you... for you... in love with you,” You finished. 

Carlisle nodded his head at Jasper to begin.

Jasper cleared his throat, his eyes still glued onto you, “(Y/n)... The day I met you... I never foresaw this moment.”

A smile grew wide on your lips as he spoke.

“The love I knew before meeting you was not the kind of love that neither you nor I deserve,” Jasper said. “You came along while I was healing, while I was hurting. You showed a new, profound love that my words cannot describe. For once... It made me look forward to the future.

Jasper didn’t wait for a second for Carlisle to say the words. His cold lips pressed against your own as he dipped your body. You happily clung onto the edges of his coat, smiling into the kiss.

in a much-needed return to this blog's roots, and as an antidote to all motorsport- and life-related chaos, i now present to you: the first edition of em's favorite retro rally videos!

general disclaimer/info: these videos mainly come from the group B era of the world rally championship (wrc), which generally speaking was in the '80s. i am only human, so expect a lot of bias toward my personal favorites...which will become very apparent as you read this list hehe. also i'm not even gonna pretend to be an expert on this or anything. a lot of these are literally just based on Vibes

in which my bias toward audi sport, mouton/pons, mikkola, toivonen, and vatanen are put on blast for all to see 🥴 i am not an expert in anything i am just very good at research and a whore for aud—[SNIPED]. for the sake of brevity, i narrowed my favorites down to 5. maybe another time i will share all the rest!

also, a general note about the commentary: sometimes, the commentary around michèle and fabrizia can get... weird. keep in mind, they were the most prominent female team partnership around that time, and the first to nearly clinch a wrc wdc, and to modern ears, the commentators really didn't know how to act around them. personally, it wasn't horrible for me, i just ignored the weirder bits, but i understand if others might find it off-putting. also for the sake of your sanity don't read the comments.

5. Rally of the 1000 Lakes, 1984 | finland

comments: this was definitely a rally for most of audi sport's drivers to forget: bar stig blomqvist, who came quite close to the podium finishers with a 4:14:01 to henri toivonen's 4:12:57! both hannu mikkola and michèle mouton had to retire from the race, which may lead you to wonder: why does this rank among my favorites? well, it's always fun to watch group b rally cars sailing through the air against picturesque scenery, and this video also contains an intriguing (at least for me!) look at the scrutineering process, with drivers at their most casual.

4. Lombard RAC Rally, 1981 | britain

comments: hannu winning by 11 whole minutes even after rolling his car in the middle of the forest is actual legend behavior! anyway this was michèle's first wrc outing in britain, and even though she and fabrizia had to retire, they still did quite well, consistently running high in the leaderboards after the first few stages. and that's considering the fact that michèle had a bad cold for much of the rally and had to ask fabrizia to drive the car to service park for her at one point bc she was so tired. which fabrizia did... with a pencil in her mouth. lot of big names in one video—also, jean todt makes an appearance as a co-driver!

3. Marlboro Safari Rally, 1983 | kenya

comments: ok can i just say how stunning the video presentation is?? the opening sequence is just!!! the shots of the wildlife! the sprinting giraffes! wow! anyway the visual of drivers in deck chairs just tickles me for no reason, and michèle please tell me what you ask for at the hairdresser's and also where you got that orange blouse (this is obviously not just specific to this rally, she always eats and leaves no crumbs). this was michèle's first entry and only finish in kenya (and of course it was a podium mwah). it was also her last wrc entry in the A1 quattro, as she switched to the A2 for the rest of her program in the '83 season. also this is one of my favorite podium pictures ever.

lksdjffnnkd there's almost too much to unpack... fabrizia somehow surviving in high waist jeans in a hot car... michèle's do-it-yourself shorts... this podium picture was the subject of a very frantic video chat conversation between myself and a friend at 2am a few months ago

comments: GOD I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH AAAA! michèle's first podium of '82 being a win? this rally being the one where there's footage of her going shopping with fabrizia afterward? (more on that later) them winning by 13 whole minutes? and that's not even considering THEE most poetic victory ceremony of all time! in fact let me talk about that bc the racing and the win aside, that's why it's so high up on my list! literally poetic cinema! it's night, they're standing on top of the car and floodlit and surrounded by cheering crowds but they may as well be the only ones there in their own little world, laughing at each other and barely even having to look to each other when they're raising their hands—like god! shut up! we get it you're besties 😭

1. Lombard RAC Rally, 1982 | britain

comments: firstly, if you were to ask me about my dream podium, this would be it. hands down, across all series of motorsport, my comfort podium would be hannu, michèle, and henri in any order. (there's such a cute picture of them from this rally on pinterest, standing in order on a staircase. henri is not looking at the camera because he is laughing at something michèle is saying and it's such a Vibe but i cannot find it wah). the battle for second between michèle and henri ran down to literally the last stage, and their times are separated by seconds, which is just wild to me. the context of this rally deserves another post, which i honestly don’t have the energy to make rn, but just take my word for it that it threatens to destroy me if i think about it too hard! anyway this is just such an awesome rally and i’ve watched this video so many times haha

i love this rally so much that i actually had a character in a story i was writing attend the ceremony captured in this picture as a small child and made it a formative moment in her life. no, there is nothing wrong with me.

'2008 Otago International Classic Rally' (eng) - THE BESTIES REUNITE THE BESTIES REUNITE!!! michèle and fabrizia reunite for a rally that fabrizia convinced michèle to join, they suffer some problems but there are plenty of wholesome bestie moments to be had

vocab crash course : Otosan - dad in Japanese

“Open up,” said the sweet man seating on the other side of the table as he extends his arm and brings a chopstick with sushi to your mouth.

You giggle, blushing from the bold public display affection nevertheless you open your mouth and take in the piece of sushi.

“Aaaa" he mimics you by opening his mouth and you really have to hold yourself back from crawling under the table. Yuta is really affectionate, but you are the type to keep it low in public. Mainly because the man you are dating is a public figure and you are just a small girl in the village doing alright . And you are just a lucky girl who happens to fall in love with him aannndd its mutual.

“wae?” He asks when you slowly kick his shin under the table. Your red ears are enough to make him realize that you're shy.

“there’s many people Yuta,” you whisper and glare at him. He runs his eyes along the room and nods his head “so what?”

“Well I don’t want to attract attention.” You play with the chopstick in your hand. Yuta doesn’t mind you instead he picks another piece and stuffs it into his mouth “No one is paying attention to us. Besides I've missed your tons! I just want to make sure you know I love you.”

You feel guilty but thanks to the banging on the table, both you and Yuta quickly drive your attentions to the little member of your family.

“Oh Kenji-san, you want more?” Yuta quickly refills his son’s empty plate.

Kenji's big smile soon reappears as he picks up his training chopstick and make an attempt to eat the salmon sushi.

“Otosan! Namie-chan too,” your first daughter who already grows up to a well behaved sweet 4 years old tug on her father's shirt.

Yuta looks at her with heart in his eyes and with his father mode he takes care of her.

Yes, your second child has been in the family for a year. Kenji is a healthy baby with calm personality, unlike Namie who cannot sit still, Kenji can entertain himself with sitting down on the floor and dozing off. You sometimes feel bad seeing Kenji staying quiet despite Namie's tireless attempts to make her brother laugh.

They're a dynamic duo, but Namie loves Kenji with all her heart. She was sometimes jealous at first, but when Yuta makes sure she gets the love she deserves and explains Kenji is her brother, Namie wants to understand and helps you a lot on daily basis by being a good sister. Yes, Yuta's absence in the house during promotion era is crazy for you, but with his constant hard work your small family can enjoy living a good life.

Yuta and you continue to supervise your children as they gladly enjoy their meals.

“I love seeing them eat like this,” Yuta puts down his chopstick and you quirk an eyebrow. Sushi is something he really likes, but he only ate a few earlier.

“Stopping? Diet?” you ask totally aware of his food restrictions. Yuta shakes his head “Let the kids have it, I had enough.”

You smile, as you help Kenji scoops in some more food.

Namie is eating like every other kid her age, totally engrossed in the delicious foods that her face is messy and her hands are full of rice.

“Aigo look at how big you've grown! Otosan still remembers the day I can cradle you.” Yuta rubs a loving hand on Namie's soft hairs. She smiles which makes Yuta smiles too.

“I am a big girl! I am a sister now! Kenji is my little brother.” Namie proudly points to Kenji who is clapping his hands as if he understands his sister's words.

Yuta plants a kiss on Namie's head and the smaller one winks.

“Look at both of you having the same smile,” you comment while helping Kenji cleans up after his happy meal mess.

Yuta watches as Namie reaches out for her own wet tissue and starts cleaning up, Yuta's heart swells at the thought of his daughter growing up so fast … he'll drive her to school and suddenly she is a young lady and one day Yuta will walk her down the aisle!

“Otosan?” the small girl's tug on his shirt brings Yuta back to present days.

“Yes princess?” Yuta plants his attention to the less messy girl.

“Help me, I don’t know if I'm clean already…” she hands Yuta the wet tissue pack and Yuta gladly takes one fresh sheet out “Of course, here next time you want yo make sure you didn’t miss this part.” Yuta explains as he wipes the cheek area.

“Thank you for dinner.” Namie mutters to Yuta after they all settle into the car and head back home.

Yuta looks surprised, Namie has never said that usually it was you, but you were quiet because Kenji fell asleep already on your chest.

“You're welcome Namie.” Yuta replies although he shoots you a questioning yet proud look.

Once the car is parked and the small family enters the house, Namie stays behind to wait for Yuta to lock his car.

“Oh, go inside Naemie, it's cold.” Yuta ushers the small girl into the house and Namie is all good she just waits to tell “Thank you!” for Yuta to drive them home safely.

Yuta feels warm, receiving small gratefulness from his children is enough to recharge his energy.

Once Namie and Kenji are asleep in their room, you finally have the time to enjoy your husband's attention. Well Yuta has been giving his attention to Kenji and Namie, but you don’t blame him. He needs a bonding time with them or else they don’t know who their father is.

You snuggle comfortably into Yuta's hug and he runs a finger throughout your hair while sometimes massaging your tense neck.

“Namie really grew up so fast!” Yuta mumbles.

You nod proudly “I taught her all of her manners.”

Yuta smile “I am aware of that; it is a habit of yours that always thank me for dinner and driving and anything else! Every small thing I did… you give me thank and attention! Namie sure saw you do that all the time and thinks it is something to do… which I am glad she did copy!”

You laugh “Yes I am glad she picks up this habit from young. Thanks, Yuta, for tonight.” You impulsively thank him like any other days.

Yuta lovingly rubs your shoulder “See, always thanking me! I should be the one to thank you… must be hard to look after them by yourself. I promise I'll try to go home more.”

His hand brushes your shoulder and he focus his eyes on the dark to notice a patch of neck pain reliever stickers on your back. He sadly smiles and runs a hand over the tensed muscles

“Must be hard right? Tired… taking care of children… I am sorry,” he presses the tight nods away, trying to help you unwind.

You blush when you let out a breathy moan on a good knot Yuta is pressing “Well I need to thank you, because I really am thankful. Thanks for being a good father to them. If it's hard? It is, but your job is also hard. so, both of us have our own duties and we need to do them well.”

“Am I? I feel like I am a bad father.” Yuta frowns as his hand continues to do wonders to your tensed shoulders. Carrying Kenji with the baby carrier while doing house chores made you want to buy a nee spine.

You smooth out the lines between his brows “No, they see you as their hero! Namie knows you work hard for her so she can go to school and eat her favorite foods.”

Yuta feels happy about that and kisses your head “You're a wonderful mom! Teaching that to your children by yourself.”

You shake your head “You are being responsible, and it is a good father image for them. They'll understand.  You- coming home every free time you have is strong enough to remind them how hard you're working for them. You're not a bad father Yuta, instead I am glad you're always trying your best to be a dad.”

Yuta hugs you deeper into the sheet “Is it? Then I am glad you are the mother to my beautiful, handsome, and wonderful children. Thank you (y/n). Saranghae~”

“me too, love you tons Yuta!” you press a kiss on his cheek and bury yourself to his chest as you slowly drift to dreamland.

man... july really flew by! i think that’s partly bc i was kinda all over the place this past month (both mentally and location-wise haha). went on a couple trips w my fam, then my sister was visiting this past week so i have been busy. but, still tried to squeeze in as much writing/editing as i could!

i did not quite reach my 30k goal for camp nano, but i’ll give myself credit for that one cuz i still wrote over 25k and it was a busy month for me so i probs shouldn’t have set my wc goal so high anyway haha. 

probably my biggest accomplishment was that I FINALLY FINISHED WRITING SYLVIX DREAMSCAPE FIC!! :’’) holy shit.... i cannot believe i finally got to the end. it has been such a long and emotional journey (took me almost two years to write the whole thing jfc) so it definitely feels surreal. but i still have three chapters to edit/post so i am not done with it quite yet!! 

i recently got an edit letter from my mentors who are helping me w my ya sci-fi book so AAAA. based on their feedback, i....definitely have my work cut out for me lolll so uh that will probs be taking up most of my time in these coming months. i haven’t delved in much yet besides rewriting my first couple chapters to determine the best POV to use for the book going forward. but hopefully will get more into the swing of things during august!

while i was waiting on my edit letter, i also outlined... an entire other book lol (the one i am currently just referring to as “arctic monster book”). i don’t think i’ll have time to start writing it for at least three or four more months haha, but i am excited about it and it was fun to outline something new!

other than that... i’ve been working on my matchablossom fic again recently, so i hope to continue that. doubt i’ll finish it this month bc i have my book to work on (and i think this fic is gonna be...long-ish) but would like to write a decent chunk of it!

i also have a couple sylvix ideas i’d love to start but am still trying to plan/outline those and ofc they will be super long/complicated bc i am an idiot who loves to make more work for myself! i am gonna try to restrain myself from starting either of those but.... if i just so happen to finish an outline for both/either of them, that may change.

there’s also the twiyor fic which hmmm... still unsure whether i am going to continue writing it but we shall see. and just in general, a bunch of other fics i would love to keep working on but unsure if i will have time. but we shall see where inspiration leads me!!

first off thank u so so much for all the fics you write, every time i see an update it puts a smile on my face. i think i started following u halfway through recall? i was knee-deep in your writing, embarrassing as it is to say. your ideas are always so fresh and exciting and i remember screaming about your smaus to my friends after every chapter upload. your content gives me so much comfort and enjoyment after a long day, and im so so so so thankful to u for being here and coming up with all these wonderful stories and sharing them with us!!! the way you communicate with all your moots and followers says more than enough about how passionate you are, and what a genuine person you are. i wanna let u know that you’re someone i look up to a lot (im a bit younger than u) and the way you carry yourself feels so mature and in control, plus you have a consistent schedule and stick to it while balancing your responsibilities outside of this safe space you created. i really admire you and your talent, and i’ll keep following and supporting you!!! actually i’ve recently been trying to write fics myself, but i’m very new to kpop fandoms. i’ve only had experience with anime/manga fandoms so i’m still reading and learning more about the culture here, and i’m lacking quite a bit of confidence. your fics are really a huge inspiration for me and i want to continue to learn from you, both on how to be a better writer and person! maybe in the future when i’m a little more confident i can interact with you properly as a fellow writer and fan, but for now i’m content being your loyal follower 😊😊 all the best in your life, stay safe and healthy!!!

Aaaa oh my gosh, thank you so much for your kind words, Flake!! You always make me so, so happy <33 I’m so glad to know you like them so much, it’s super fun writing all the details of their relationship and how they understand and love each other. Byakuya means a great deal to me, and I struggle seeing myself graduating high school next year while not calling him my F/O (fingers crossed guys!!! <33).

✧ - Do you prefer to plan dates out, or do you prefer to just go with the flow and figure things out a you go?

Both of them are MASSIVE planners. S/I is definitely the more willing one to go with the flow; just Byakuya’s company alone is enough for her to be happy. Byakuya, however, doesn’t quite understand that she’s just happy no matter what, causing him to excessively plan dates to give her a perfect experience he thinks she deserves.

Most of them are at night too. I like to think Byakuya enjoys cold nights the most as it tends to be the time the least people are around (it also gives him an excuse to make her huddle close to him ‘for warmth’ when in reality he just uses it as an excuse to be close together).

Most of their dates are at the night café and are recognised regulars there, ahaha. S/I often wants to socialise with the shopkeeper and the occasional passerby, enjoying all of the fantastical stories unique individuals get to tell. Byakuya of course despises this, wanting S/I to himself in the back corner. While she talks, he occasionally will fit his coat around her if she shows symptoms of being cold, or holding her hand under the counter protectively.

He has been called out by the waiter a number of times for his coddling of her and how bad of a job he does at keeping his love for her on the down low. He has been called ‘the overprotective jealous type’ too many times to count. Overall, they both enjoy being there at late nights. When seated in the plush seating in the corner of the café though, S/I is very prone to falling asleep on him, often needing to be gently rocked awake and carried into bed once they’re back at the mansion.

❖ - Surprise! Your f/o is going to treat you to a special day- no budget, no restrictions- how do you spend the day?

Byakuya isn’t the most fond of — well, going outside to public spaces. He just REALLY doesn’t like people. But, he does treat her occasionally (just because he loves her so much). Byakuya isn’t the most fascinated by the planetarium, but it’s a place S/I shows great exuberance to go to — so, naturally he takes her there.

Also, a big shopping day is pretty much inbound. Poor S/I always needs his help with zippers and such -_- he’d make a few snarky comments concerning how much she needs him for everything, but he does genuinely love caring for her and feeling needed (because as I’ve said, Byakuya needs her too, he just doesn’t want to admit it).

Funnily enough, they mostly prefer to just be with each other in the mansion, alone. Byakuya’s a private man, and both their love languages is quality time (I’ve justified that in another post sksksks); they really just love being in one and another’s presence.

They might play music together though. Byakuya has a lot of perfectionist tendencies, so its a bit hard for him to refrain from critiquing everything — he still loves being able to create something with her though and it’s a very precious experience. He can’t draw super well or is proficient at any other artistic mediums, but his musical side is a very sensitive thing he doesn’t really trust anyone else with outside of the more soulless piano performances he does to show off. But creating his own music? It’s something special to share with her. Especially when he sings, that’s only for her.

(he says (in canon) he can play all standard instruments — voice is an instrument, so I’m just saying he can sing to an extent but it’s not his forte by any means)

so i watched cobra kai all in two days and i have so many -

this show has so many cool and smart angles to it, but the same time.... its so stupid oh my god everyone is so dumb literally mr miyagi held all of the braincells in this whole universe 

like i am but at the same time i am not surprised it was made like this, bc in hindsight of course there were hordes of ppl simping over johnny lawrence ....  but it still amuses me that this is like... an Actual Official Thing

how much fun this cast has is super visible and i love it

i rly enjoy how the world was expanded ! i did grow up watching the karate kid movies, so watching how they progressed the world of the movies so organically was pretty cool. it rly feels like its the same universe

i fucking LOVE stories that are largely about a Thing. dancing ,skating, sports its just so thrilling to experience this all consuming relationship people can have with this type of activity? and martial arts are just that much more intense, so yeah, grown ass men kicking each other around at the lightest provocation and a war veteran caring so much abt teen karate is Ridiculous.... but i love it all because thats the intensity i find so thrilling

was kinda surprised with how much im missing mr. miyagi. first because, like everyone is so unhinged jesus christo, it just really throws into relief how much his character grounded the narrative of the movies. but also hes just a really great character

and on that note it rly Gets Me that the show itself aknowledges that and plays that into daniels angst and all the little ways they sorta weave myiagisms into the whole show........ im not getting emotional over this dumb karate dads show OK

ACE DEGENERATE oh god oh no

they really went down the down and out johnny lawrence route huh. like i was always kinda bummed we see kreese choking him and then we never see him again in the movies, and while i love dumpster fire problematic trash himbo ck johnny, its like......................... actually really sad that his life turned out like this fjngn

everytime i hear ‘babes’ and ‘pussy’ i die a little inside. i know thats the point but i am a v cringe easy person, have mercy (ehe)

loved the way they are constantly drawing parallels between johnny and mr. myiagi of all people. hes the handy man of his building that has a bullied kid asking for help and eventually steps up to teach them karate, beats up a bunch of bullies for him, creates a friendship with said kid, estranged from family, drinks his sorrows away, surprisingly one of the least quick to anger characters (which says more about everyone else really but.... Well.), no schemes or ulterior motives hes just tryna vibe here.... oh and ofc magically heals miguel of is asthma apparently. the true disciple.. meanwhile daniel is his usual messy petty self even tho he wants to be mr myiagi so bad 

also interesting about that is how miguels character is a parallel of both johnny and daniel at the same time

overall the parallels in ck are done really well, drawing comparisons and also subverting them constantly. theyre well thought out

THE PARALELOGRAMS

fr tho, the angle being explicitly the cycle of trauma and its effects and how trumatized adults in turn traumatize kids, maliciously or not, is so interesting

but! on the flip side of that, it feels like the writers are getting in their own way @ letting the characters grow. especially this last season. theres only so many times you can do "johnny and daniel are getting along but 5mins later they are (literally) fighting over some dumbass random issue" or "johnny puts in 20% of effort with robby and then gives up" before it gets on your nerves yknow?

i see daniel no longer talks like macchio ingested 15 shots of espresso before every take and idk how to feel about that tbh

interesting tension in daniel, as in, in tkk mr miyagi was there and daniel was frankly, kind of a lil shit, this messy petty spitfire hot tempered sassy kid,(johnny lawrence voice: just... stop being so annoying) but now hes the adult, and he wants to be mr. miyagi... but hes just not, and never will be to his very core and it shakes him and in a way hes trying to find who he is now that he sees himself in a position to be a not! cobra kai figure. i kinda really like that 

plus how that relates to his cobra kai trauma. idk if the writers thought abt it Like That, i think so, but in any case, its interesting bc it seems like daniel has told everyone whod listen about johnny lawrence his Pretty Boy Karate Rival and high school and 84 cobra kai... But. no one seems to know what went on in 85 (or 86? idk) which was just so much worse

like ye og cobras were shitheads, but tkk iii is just two hours of daniel being emotionally and physically tortured. 

like, the third movie is.............chaotic, to put it nicely, and many people ignore it, but the writers clearly didnt. daniels actions are, in a way, responding so much more to the events of tkk iii than to the first movie ie. johnny himself, AND. daniel doesnt rly seem to have dealt with that trauma? he never told sam? doesnt feel like hes ever told amanda? he doesnt even say terrys name out loud? freaks Out over kreese ? the way he reacts to robbys deceit? his FACE when he walks past the new "fear does not exist in this dojo" paint or kreeses photo? hmMm i sense Pain

his fashion tho........... disappointing. where are the flower shirts daniel huh we had one (1) shirt what a tragedy STOP WEARING SUITS ALL THE TIME . also the band ts/grunge bi are a look for johnny but part of me longs for the preppy lovable 80s bully chic johnny lawrence getups

weird that they never used that last moment of karate kid where johnny kinda... snaps out of his anger and hands daniel the trophy almost in tears. like “youre alright larusso, good match” “thanks a lot”  that being their last direct interection seems like itd be perfect fruit for cobra kai but... they just dont. weird. 

especially when, the FIRST SCENE they see each other, suposedly in 30+ years, the first thing to come out of daniels mouth is QUOTE "u still got those golden locks huh?" WHO SAYS SHIT LIKE THAT DANIEL FUCKING SAN 

also amandas immediate reaction "your pretty boy rival?" like. can we talk about the fact that daniel had to have imparted to his wife the very important information that his high school bully/karate rival was like Really Cute and Fucking Hot Actually

 the writers Knew exactly what they were doing and honestly.............. power to them

also I was thinking that daniel sounded strangely fond in that first scene, and i wonder if he developed a weird affection for johnny on the grounds that of all of his Karate Rivals johnny was actually the only one who didn’t actively tried to literally kill him

i was actually delightedly surprised with how great the chemistry between them is, like from the get go i am Invested. their rl friendship totally bleeds through and its fantastic

. granted, idiots enemies to lovers friends is my Thing so i am biased  

johnny lawrence: i am down in the dumps, i fucked up my whole life and my sons probably, largely in light of the trauma that the father figure sensei and the philosophy of my karate inflicted on me and all my friends. u know what i should do, as a traumatized, unreliable mess of an adult? teach that same philosophy to some other kids! what could go wrong! 

but really i enjoy the setup of it. i kinda like that i watched it late because, season 1 was johnny setting himself up for failure in a way and it was exciting to watch it all go to shit sjfn

Like. his heart might be in the right place, but theres just.... not a way to teach something like ‘strike hard, no mercy’ and not have it fuck up a kid 

case and point: aisha, miguel and hawk become annoying as all hell over that bullshit in the end of s1, even before shit gets truly fucked up

billys subtle panicked eyes when he sees hawk and miguel fighting dirty in the all valley was SO GOOD especially in parallel with the panic that is so visible in his face in the movie when kreese tells bobby to injure daniel and in the sweep the leg scene 

seen people question wether kreese should have returned and i absolutely think he needed to. johnny needed to realize that cobra kais fundamentals are flawed, at the root, beyond kreese himself being a toxic piece of shit 

also who are we kidding? we are here to see the tkk characters play on new playgrounds!

i get what they're doing abt kreeses backstory, ( also. cobra kai. pq eles caem nas cobras djjs sorry) but did it need to take up that much time? feels like they couldve  done it in half the run time and developed some other stories better

love that we get a good follow up to kreese breaks johnnys trophy and tries to CHOKE HIM in the parking lot, which happened in the movie and then....................... was never mentioned again

the new characters! theyre .... good. but. idk. i really like miguel (save for the annoying phase mid s1 - end s2) and amanda, who is a damn riot and has some functioning braincells, but everyone else is       

like dont get me wrong, i dont hate anyone,its not a jane and rafael from jtv situation,  and i am interested and invested in their arcs, but i wouldnt say i like   Like them, as in, personality wise 

like, sams grappling with ptsd was rly gutting and i enjoyed that plus her slight rage issues, 

which nicely parallel torys rage issues. torys background is all over the place tho so im pretty on the fence abt her so far

robby deserves better in every way, and i like how smart and cunning and surprisingly sweet he is

 demetri is annoying in the best way possible,

 carmen is sweet but. i just feel like her character is blunted to make the johnny relationship easier. like when shes furious with him after miguels injury but then forgives him like an episode later? and then convinces him to fight for the tournament bc she had a karate epiphany off screen even tho she was always against it? meh. feels like with the plot thiccening she was swallowed and now shes like a crutch for johnny mora than anything, which is disappointing.

aisha was cool and im kinda mad she wasnt in s3, especially bc a storyline with her tory and sam was like RIGHT THERE , but also... cant say i was super super fond of her... doesnt feel like we ever spent enough time on her

overall its a good cast but the main draw for me remains the og cast 

the tory/sam miguel/robby Thing. enjoy how theyre Narrative Foils and i like how their stories were so dramatically entangled but oh god give me a break with the teenage love square for the love of god. if u gonna put us through that at least have the decency to not make it so straight

and honestly some sam/tory        miguel/robby romantic tension would even make more sense. just saying! 

also im not sure how i feel abt the cobra kai: red miyagi do: blue theyre going with since some of daniels most iconic looks in tkk are also red. like it was a color they (johnny and him) sorta shared. i get it, opposite but complementary but idk... a little too fire nation and water tribe for me .

 and like the cobra kai kids are so funny abt it bc their outifts grow progressively more ridiculously coordinated. its like do they group chat every morning before leaving their houses? 

robby still sticks out like that tho. he went thru an athleisure/daniel san tsleeves phase and now hes back in the bandts grunge, but his color scheme doesnt fully blend with the other cobra kais. hmmmm.

LOVED LOVED LOVED both the okinawa episode and the cobra kais easy rider episode just such good good heart aching fun

bobby is an icon. he was in tkk and he is now ck hope appears more and more

 tommy is like the most iconic background character. all his lines, freaking gold then and now. sigh :( 

the framing in the okinawa trip was so good everything was so good

i stand by the fact that kumiko was the love interest daniel had the most chemistry with and shes is overall such a joy to watch, loved to see her again, idola, fashion icon

also really enjoyed chozens role in the episode, his evolution; i love that they introduced the pressure points (ty lee the blueprint) and! the honk + karate! cousins! absolutely iconic

when kumiko reads mr miyagis letters........ oh my god, my eyes FILLED with tears, it was so heart wrenching :(( tamlyns delivery was so emotional and lovely and its so obvious everyone involved in ck has so much love and respect for pat morita and mr miyagi as character, and i adore that it exists like this electric current through the show

when we were watching i told my sister i thought that ali would be miguels big shot surgeon and ngl i am so disappointed that didnt happen. hire me cobra kai writers

- so kuroo is like the dorkiest nerd say what you want but he's like ,,, a family guy before he is a sex god

- there's a lot of things that make him go soft

- first and foremost is domesticity. he's just ALL for that shit. living together in a cheap rent apartment, dancing to 90's music, watching movies, cooking or house chores — everything related to building a family, he's down for it. so whenever his crush is over at his house he's just ,,,, his mind goes places.

- second is seeing his s/o in his clothes walking around. especially when you're shorter than him and his clothes look big on you, he's just . he wants to squish you. and he just might — pick you up and cuddle from behind. if you're his crush then he'll lend you his jacket and insist that you keep it on !!!!

- seeing you smile makes kuroo melt I just know kuroo is the type to go "ew, you simp?!" BUT HE HIMSELF IS THE BIGGEST SIMP

- if you're not close to him you can't tell when he gets soft. but with you, wow, the small smile on his expression gets easily noticeable

- he secretly likes it when you brag about him or cheer him on super loudly. it's HELLA embarrassing but it makes him get butterflies because he knows that you care that much about him

- just waking up with you. seeing you first thing in the morning is a guarantee that his day won't be as shitty with you in it. when he sees your sleeping face he gives you secret kisses. but if you're awake you both just giggle and hug !!!!

- akaashi is not a simp. he has better self restrain than kuroo. but again, there are some things that just make him putty in your hands.

- butterfly !!!! kisses !!!!! especially when you wake him up by peppering kisses on his face !!! he is just. he cannot control his internal screaming.

- if you give him little kisses he gives up after a while. he likes to take advantage of it and just enjoy it before he gives you what you want

- WHEN YOU HOLD HANDS???? akaashi feels like he's in heaven. especially when you do the circling your thumb on his hand thing. he's gone.

- I have so many random headcanons about this aaaa he likes it when you're wearing makeup / styling your hair. to him you just look super cute putting on eyeliner / straightening your hair on the mirror, humming to a small tune with the utmost focus

- and dancing ??? singing ??? if iwaizumi finds you vibing he's just standing at the doorframe watching as he feels his insides screaming because wow how did he get someone as beautiful as YOU

- when you feed him !!!! when you're watching movie and you feed him the chips or when you're sharing a meal and you just feed him he feels like the world is his

- overall I rate him 7/10 on the simpmeter. he becomes a blushing, stuttering mess when you're around him.
