The weird thing is that I was in New York on Labor Day weekend and passed through Grand Central where they were having an officially sanctioned Harry Potter event. Apart from the “ugh, read the room” tone deafness about doing this when the Harry Potter creator is the face of organized transphobia, there’s the whole thing about this being in the United States at a railroad station that is architecturally and historically nothing like King’s Cross that’s just weird.

So apparently King's Cross Station announced they'd be doing nothing for "back to Hogwarts" Day in July and warned Harry Potter fans to not crowd the station, and announced it again a week ago, but nobody saw that so thousands of adult Harry Potter fans crowded a real ass train station real people use to board real trains and counted down for a celebration that never happened.

I highly recommend seeking out videos of it if you're some kind of petty person who thinks watching a large group of ardent adult Harry Potter stans being disappointed is funny (I am, I am that petty)

So I've seen that people are talking about Harry potter adults. Well, I couldn't get into harry potter when I was a kid but got into it when I was about 16 to 17 years old, and still love. I find it wrong for adult to be hating and or being disrespectful about something that isn't hurting anyone. We all have are things some just like stuff from when we were kids. Now yes some live in a dululu world with some shows/Fandom but in my eyes as long as your not hurting someone, yourself or an animal, your fine.

While I don’t envision Harry to be a particularly jealous person in the books, I can’t help but think about certain situations with Severitus where that emotion might come out.

I especially think about it when fanfics depict Severus as a protector for abused children in slytherin or Hogwarts as a whole. I think Harry seeing how Snape treats other children compared to him would enrage him.

Just seeing everything that he could have if things were just a little bit different, if he was sorted into slytherin, or if he just had a different father, or some other insignificant thing, he could have had the love, care and protection he always wanted. He could have had someone on his side who actually fought for him, was willing to do the hard stuff for him.

But he doesn’t just get jealous of how Snape treats other children, he gets jealous of the fact that Snape FINDS OUT about the other children’s abuse. He sees how easily Severus seems to pick up on other kids flinching, hiding injuries, or peculiar behavior, taking them aside after class within the first year, first month of school. Yet, after years of knowing him, Snape seems to have no clue. He sees that and can’t help but think why not him as well, he gets so so angry.

The anger and jealousy doesn’t stick however as he just ends up thinking maybe the way the dursleys treat him isn’t so bad, after all, if the number one person in the school for detecting abuse can’t see it, maybe it’s not actually abuse. And anyways, he should be grateful the other kids have someone to go to.

And somewhere deep down he thinks it’s his fault, because he has gotten rather good at covering up their tracks over the years. How can he blame the Professor when he purposefully hides the evidence?

I just tried out the Character Headcanon Generator, and when I typed in Snape’s name I got “Severus Snape set a public school on fire and got away with it.”

Been listening to the James Blake/Lil yachty collab a lot and I especially have Save the Savior on repeat. there's just something to Draco stepping in and saving Harry from himself and the world that continues to take and take from him. in a way, they can't stop saving each other - they make quite the great team. alas, all i have time for right now is this quick sketch to represent a moment like this, where they might start to realize the depth of what they could do for each other.

I'm rewatching the Harry Potter movies, and I can't wrap my head around how stupid and illiterate you have to be to accuse J.K. Rowling of being a nazi.

One of the main antagonists, the Malfoys, have blonde hair and blue eyes and believe that "mudbloods" are people of dirty blood who are worth less than pure-blood wizards. Let me repeat—these are the bad guys. Did you have history classes in school? Doesn't that sound familiar?

But sure, the person who included such a clear anti-nazi message in her books must secretely be a nazi because *checks notes* she doesn't think that men can be women.
