I see your point. A lot of people are currently experiencing the effects of climate change. But we are not at the extreme. It can get a lot worse, and it will if we don't prevent it from progressing further.

i see where you’re going with this anon! but simply because it can get worse does not mean it isn’t an extreme, and i think that schools through south and southeast asia having to close because of the heat is very much an extreme. when will it be considered an extreme? will it be considered an extreme when it’s americans dying of heatstroke and not just africans and asians and middle easterners and pacific islanders and latin americans? i agree with you that climate change needs to be stopped, but we need to stop framing it as “climate change needs to be stopped before it becomes a disaster” because it is already a disaster!! it is already killing people!!

some thoughts

I'm very aware some people think the strike fell flat during its last few steps, but it's good that we had SOME coordination rather than none. I hope that we can arrange this again, because our action towards Israel should hit it where it hurts - the organizations that support it

At the end of the day, you are fighting with your voices, with your wallet, with your protests, uplifting each-other and honoring the memory of the 26,000+ martyrs who were senselessly killed by the IOF, while also remaining steadfast to protect those who are still alive.

The fact that there are still Palestinians with hope should signal to us all that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Freedom for all of Palestine. Freedom for all oppressed nations. For Sudan, for Congo, for Yemen, for the Uyghurs, and many more. And if nothing else, please document their memory like Palestinians would want you to.

I will share with you the poem written by the Palestinian poet Refaat Alareer, titled "If I Must Die". He wrote it before being killed by the Israeli army.

Indiana became a state in 1816 aka the Year Without Summer; and while it didn't become a state until December of that year I will be using this for 2 wttt Indiana hc;

A. Indy is always cold, main reason he's the premier hoodie thief in the statehouse.

B. because it was such a horrid year for crops Indiana, who I think was about ten physically when he *popped* into existence, spent their first while on the planet rationing food & regularly going to bed hungry. This developed his lovely habit of hoarding food, and being the worst offender when it comes to the "you're not leaving the table til you've cleaned your plate". None of these habits were helped by the fact that (according to me) he was raised by Virginia who is the same way because of the Starving Time.

I know this is just a sub product of american global influence as a whole but it's just frustrating and tiring to have to be invested in one single country's politics cause they're gonna bite everyone's ass. this behavior isn't unique either, this happens after any election, it's just when it's other countries they do that in their segregated "side of the internet" and americans are the whole internet so that's literally all everyone is seeing right now
