Daisy

-takes them for walks on days when she's really hyper

-really wants a cat but thinks it wouldn't go well with two dogs

- canonically has a horse and loves riding dramatically through the stormy countryside like she's in a film

Hazel

- has a fish called Miss Fisher

( has never watched Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries but knows about it and like the pun)

- she likes watching her swim and its calming so kind of like a visual stim?

(I'm sure there's a bit in ASOM where she says that her father had fish in his study and watching them swim calmed her down)

George

-He is 100% a cat person

- wanted to call her Purrlock Holmes or Pawroit (like Poirot, I realized that it looks nothing like it)

- Harold said absolutely not and they compromised on Astrid

- but also @deepdeanvsweston's headcanon of him having pet beetles has taken over my brain

- George will be all ' animals can't understand us, we can't hurt their feelings that's stupid' until Kitty complains about them and then he's like ' they are very offended, how dare you! 😠 Come on Mary and Celeste, we know where we're not wanted'😔

Alexander

- begged for a dog every birthday and Christmas but never got one

- gets a puppy when he's older and buys it a ridiculous amount of bow ties to go on its collar

- Daisy says that the dog is better dressed than Alex

Kitty

- has a cat called Sparkles because her and Binny named it when they were 3 and 4

- complains when it chews her magazines but laughs at Binny when the same happens to her

Beanie

- has Chutney ofc

- loves him to bits, despite frequent escapes, and sets up mazes for him

- also enjoys riding her pony

- goes on rides with Daisy- she wants to get Kitty to come too but she said absolutely not

if I were to pick my favourite scene from the entire show this takes the crown easily. It is just so James, I have no words to describe it. I was rendered speechless the first time I have heard this monologue. It was also the only time I became emotional, sad even because of this entire show. It made me feel the heartbreak and grief and the inability to process those feelings. The questioning of what love is. the metaphor of love as a tempest that is so apt; it does not only reflect the relationship between Anne and James, the genesis of their first meeting, but also it represents this entire show.

Two whole episodes into "The Gilded Age" and I am kicking my feet up, squealing and giggling.

No one told me George Russell carried the THRANDUIL brand of badassery, sass, and absolute slaying.

Another valedictorian from the school of "You absolutely do NOT DARE mess with MY wife." But in the cool, silently deadly, not-necessarily-violent way.

Oh I love this trope. I haven't written enough fics about it, but I love it.

Need to get back on the grind today and watch G Gundam but watching this show makes me think about one thing I’ve been overthinking a lot in anime where we have a story that either has characters from multiple countries, not just Japan OR we explicitly do have a story that ISN’T in Japan which leads to the conclusion of “there’s no way everyone is actually speaking Japanese here” and this shit always rattles my fucking brain despite the fact I’m watching this dubbed.

I’ve seen the hate the some of the Lockwood and Co fans have been getting for them posting about how being in the Lockwood and Co fandom is starting to feel like a job and i wanna say i agree with them.

No hate to anyone but i actually never really participated in the weekly hashtag because i know, for me, if i did do that, i think it would have made the fandom not as enjoyable as it is for me today!

Like don’t get me wrong, i think it’s amazing like with the premonition we are getting like, we convinced Alex Meyers to watch this show and he liked enough to make a video on Lockwood and Co! That’s huge premonition, and i think we should be proud!

But this premonition stuff can get to the point where it can really be affecting a persons mental health, and that’s where you do whatever you need to do take a break, even leave the fandom, if that’s what’s best for your health, you should absolutely always being taking you health first.

What i’ve been doing is i just post about Lockwood and Co whenever i feel like it (which is honestly quite often). You don’t have to be actively promoting the show for you to be a part of the Lockwood and Co fandom, and the way people are getting hate for simply stating their opinion is absolutely insane!

My favourite thing about the Lockwood and Co is the fandom! I love talking to people about Lockwood and Co, just about random things! I like occasional making edits for the show and books, but if it comes in way of your mental health, this shouldn’t be a debate because YOU COME FIRST!! YOU take YOUR break or whatever that you need to do because you deserve it okay!! I love all of the Lockwood and Co fandom and it breaks my heart then any of these creators are getting hate!

My one complaint about Mary & George, which I thoroughly enjoyed and had fun with btw, is the complete whitewash of James VI & I in the narrative. George Villiers definitely comes off as the absolute evil twink that he was, but James was a lot more woobified by the narrative... which was kind of a disservice?

James VI & I was not some poor silly drunken lech who got caught up in the web of George and his scheming mother. He was in part responsible for the witch craze, he believed strongly in the divine right of kings and didn't believe he needed a parliament. Not to mention he was responsible for North American colonisation.

James VI & I should have been just as bad as George Villiers!

The fantastic thing about Lucy Carlyle is that, despite the fact that she has super rare and powerful abilities, she is, and I cannot stress this enough, so normal. She's awkward and dense and reckless and doubts herself and has questionable fashion sense and (as others have pointed out) couldn't read a room if it had subtitles with a bouncing ball.
