Ghost’s love language as sparring.
Violence has been the only thing he’s ever known, but to Johnny he doesn’t want that. He’s sweet and safe, trustworthy and lovely in all the right ways. Soap understands that Ghost struggles with affection and is often awkward when trying to express it, so he comes up with a solution: friendly sparring. Soap explains to Ghost that it’s not his fault for feeling this way; that he doesn’t blame him for any of it. That they can come to a middle ground and he’s completely okay with it. Sparring isn’t vulnerable enough that he actively struggles with it, but he also incorporates small little gestures that show that he cares for him.
Like for example, they’ll play a game where they can lay as many pecks as they can on each other, it doesn’t matter where. The winner at the end would have the most amount of kisses laid. Or spars that would dissolve into tickle fights where they know where the other is ticklish at. Even cuteness aggression, which really only applies to Soap, where he bites Ghost lovingly, often leaving the gym room covered in bite marks.
Even if they’re not in a playful mood, where they need to let off steam after their emotions build up, they only trust each other to spar. They know that they’re not fragile and can pull their punches and call it whenever they want to. It’s their own way of saying, hey. I got you. You’re safe. It’s fun, it’s exhilarating and they’ve ruined other sparring experiences with other people because it’s the most enjoyable when they’re with each other.

To be entirely fair, I do think Maia makes gay little potions whenever possible. Lovingly hand crafted! Though it's funny, Audric was initially planned to have a same sex love interest during older iterations of planning, but the character he was being set up with never ended up working out... largely because a different character rode in on a tractor and snatched him up like a damsel (distress not required). He *is* canonically bi though. So he can be a bi reaper. A breaper if you will.

i’m so overwhelmed by things that shouldn’t be overwhelming...
#among them‚ i’ve fallen behind on drscula dauly for the first time this year and it’s stressing me out cuz i really really wanted to keep up#this year that was the one goal i had for the year is keep up with it. last year i fell way behind when my brother died and it was so hard#catching up and the entry on the 30th was a little longer than they’ve been recently and i’ve been busy and also slipping back into depressi#on real bad and i’m just not in the mood for it and i feel like it’s just gonna snowball#and this is such a non issue. it’s a book. that i’ve read before. but still it’s just stressing me out. among other things#like library books that are overdue and i haven’t finished or journal entries i want to write or a letter i’ve been wanting so badly to writ#e and a short story idea that i wanted to write down but is escaping me and fucking. tumblr notifications#these are non issues!!! but it feels like there’s a timer for the world to end again all the same.#ugh#and i should be able to focus on one thing and get it done! these things shouldn’t be hard! they’re even meant to be enjoyable! but i can’t#get myself to do anything lately#and on top of all that i’m not able to fall asleep even with my sleep meds.#what even ever‚‚‚#anyway sorry for the rant i’m basically fine

wouldn't it have been so fucked up if season one / st was actually a real ghost story and will rly had been dead the whole time n was communicating with joyce from the literal other side. like we as the audience know tht will was alive bc we're The Audience but to everyone else it jus sounded like a ghost story concocted by a mother out of her mind with grief. canonically. but like.......... the "he's been dead since the beginning" / "someone has to leave first. this is a very old story. there is no other version of this story" of it all hits so Hard
