We as a Cherik fandom need to appreciate the TV show Vicious more. I mean it's two seasons starring Ian McKellen playing a bitchy old gay man and sniping with his lover. It's a Cherik GOLDMINE and also hilarious
Here is a link to the show on YouTube, I highly recommend it

If you too have been hurt by the Metatron in Good Omens, consider watching Derek Jacobi be a posh old man and husband to IAN MCKELLAN in Vicious, they're very funny and sweet together, and they basically become fathers to their upstairs neighbor

Jacobi and McKellen as grand marshals of New York City's 2015 pride march.
All Good Omens (show) fans will know Derek Jacobi as the Metatron. His brief role on Doctor Who is also getting a lot of mention in recent posts, but I'm not going to talk about any of that.
Like his Vicious co-star Ian McKellen, Jacobi has had a long and illustrious career in theatre, television, and film. McKellen and Jacobi met when they were at Cambridge.
I'm not a huge fan of the Daily Mail, but this article, an interview with the two actors, is quite interesting. I'll just quote this part:
Jacobi says he came out to his mother when he was at university. ‘She said, “All young men, go through this phase, don’t worry.” I remember saying, “Don’t tell Dad.”’ He doesn’t know to this day if she did. ‘I think she did, but I don’t know. But they were wonderful, my parents, not much was said but they kind of knew, they got it.’
McKellen hasn’t heard his friend talk of this before. ‘That’s the first time I’ve heard that,’ he says, genuinely moved. ‘I never came out to my family. Biggest regret of my life.’ It turns out he didn’t even come out to Derek at university, even though it’s always been reported that he had something of a crush on him.
‘Yes, I did fancy Derek, but I didn’t act on it, God, no. It was illegal, remember. I do get on my high horse about it, because it was so difficult. There were no gay clubs you could go to. No gay bars, no gay newspaper, nothing. What there was was a bit sleazy, I suspect. One of the reasons I became an actor was that you could meet gay people. Even then everything was difficult. When you went to America they asked, “Are you now, or have you ever been, homosexual?” I lied on the form. It was a different world.’
I want to talk about Vicious for a bit, the ITV britcom in which Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellen play an aging gay couple, (respectively) a homemaker, Stuart Bixby, and an actor, Freddie Thornhill, for fourteen episodes.
Freddie (McKellen) tells Stuart (Jacobi) about a part he's hoping to get.
I had to add these for the Broadchurch reference.
It's a law that British actors of a certain age play this part.
I couldn't find one with Michael Sheen and the skull, but here he is in the role.
McKellen did the part again at 81 in an age-blind production.
Jacobi's big breakout was the titular role in I, Claudius on the BBC in 1976.
In the '90s, Jacobi played amateur sleuth and 12th century monk, Brother Cadfael on the ITV series.
I had watched some of Vicious before, but, spurred on by Jacobi's reappearance on Good Omens, looked for it again and watched both seasons a couple of weeks ago. Because I love a good fancast and Jacobi and Sheen (at least as Aziraphale) remind me a little of each other, I couldn't help but think that Jacobi and McKellen in their youth could have played a version of Aziraphale and Crowley. (There have been a couple of posts noting this about Jacobi, and that he might have been up for the part if it had been done soon after the book came out.)
Jacobi, left, and McKellen, right (obviously).
I also think that Tennant and Sheen could have pulled off playing Freddie and Stuart in a flashback.
An even younger version of Freddie and Stuart does appear in the series, however, played by Luke Treadaway and Samuel Barnett.
Also good casting! They do a great job playing McKellen and Jacobi playing Freddie and Stuart.
Shoutout to this post by @ember-knights, that suggested Good Omens fans should check out Vicious for a glimpse of what life in the South Downs cottage might be. And also to other posts mentioning Vicious and Good Omens in the same breath, as well as comparing Sheen and Tennant to Jacobi and McKellen (which I probably reblogged but can't find right now).
Cast of Vicious: Frances de la Tour, Iwan Rheon, Philip Voss, Ian McKellen, Derek Jacobi, Marcia Warren (Wikipedia). (Yes, the upstairs neighbor (Rheon) does go on to play Ramsay Bolton on Game of Thrones. He's a sweetheart in this, though.)
Now, I don't think Crowley and Aziraphale are the same as Freddie and Stuart, by any means. Freddie and Stuart say quite cruel things to each other. The characters become deeper in the second season; it’s a little sweeter than the first. I enjoy the bitterness of the first season too, though. It is funny, and Good Omens fans may enjoy watching it if only to see Derek Jacobi (who plays the Metatron) in a comedy role and a role that's sympathetic, especially if they are not familiar with his large and impressive body of work.
I don't think Aziraphale and Crowley's life in the bookshop as a couple, not just a group of two, or life on the South Downs, would be exactly like this, but there are somehow some similarities that I don't even know how to begin to pinpoint or explicate.
Crowley and Aziraphale’s affection is always so palpable and that’s not always clear with Freddie and Stuart. Crowley and Aziraphale are so loving that, even when they're bickering, it's joyful, even when they're arguing, even when they're coming apart (temporarily) at the seams, their love is undeniable. I don’t even think their breakup was toxic; although they were desperate at that point and hurt each other badly, it wasn't what they wanted. Sometimes it's that way.
And, lest I'm putting you off Vicious here, the Ineffable Husbands are a high bar as love stories go, but you will get to see some love and affection between Freddie and Stuart too, and I'd really love to see these actors work together more. (I am happy with how the show ends up, by the way.)
Toodle-loo! Hope everything is tickety-boo with you.

Today seemed like a good day to roast the signs!
Now. These are just my own personal experience of each sign and obviously don't apply to everyone. I don't pre-judge anyone based on when they were born. I just thought it'd be fun and, since I love reading these things, I decided to make one. If this is accurate to you, awesome, feel free to tell me. If it isn't, awesome, feel free to tell me~
Virgo:
Some of the most authentic, witty, genuine people I've ever met. Pragmatic, honest, and ambitious. I've dated numerous Virgos. My Rising is in Virgo.
BUT.
I have never met a Virgo that did not let a single bad experience colour their entire view on something. If it went badly the first time, Virgos think it will Every Time, no argument. Also, AJ is Virgo, and that's a blight on the sign if I've ever seen one. (Also fucking just. BREATHE. Please. You blighters give me second-hand anxiety)
Cancer:
Caring, expressive, funny. Loyal to a fault. I think of them as the John Watson of signs. My best friend is a Cancer sign. Genuinely warm people that just wants their loved ones to be happy.
BUT
You take things way too personally and also you never stop crying.
Leo:
Another good friend of mine is a Leo. My moon is in Leo. Bold, fun, confident and I love a little ego in my friends. Or like a lot. They also have an uncanny intuitive sense, too. Freddie Thornhill from Vicious is a canonic Leo.
BUT:
You all realise you're allowed to be corrected? Admit you were wrong? Have the spotlight off you for two seconds? You're all so high energy and I need nap. (In my experience, you can also be loud.)
Aries:
Ooooh boy. My worst relationship was with an Aries. But I have a couple of good friends in Aries! You're bold, charming, and charismatic as hell. I always like the good and friendly competition I get from Aries. And they're actually pretty loyal friends. Like to a fault.
BUT:
The explosive bloody temper. The arrogance. How they're suddenly the expert in every subject brought up in their vicinity. Aries can be A Lot.
Gemini:
Honestly, this is the one sign I have NEVER gotten along with for long periods of time. And I do try. But! Wilde's best friend, Robbie Ross, was a Gemini and he was a creative writer and brilliant friend. (Who put up with a lot.) Great communicators.
BUT:
Speaking from personal experience, if there's someone locking themselves in a bathroom during a party and loudly threatening to hurt themselves, there's a 80% chance they're a Gemini. (20% is Aries.) Dramatic, vindictive, and most apt to lying.
Scorpio:
This is my sun sign, and I also married one of these spiteful fuckers. I love the depth, the aesthetic, the romanticising. And our intuition is one of the best out there. You know, when we listen to it.
BUT:
Love gets us SO fucked up. We can't help but go from "meant to be" to "dead to me." Romance brings out the best and worst in us. We're SO romantically ruled. Also our grudge-holding and pettiness can get like straight-up childish. Two Scorpios arguing can last for months and take cheap shots at each other. Voted most likely to risk jail to get back at an ex. We need to CHILL.
Taurus:
Used to be one of my favourite signs before I met Rowan. The respect for indulgence bordering on hedonism, how it balances with being surprisingly pragmatic, and many are So aesthetically inclined. And protective and parental.
BUT:
Sensitive as a Richter scale. Their communication likes to tilt between letting things build up until a breaking point, or jumping several conclusions within a millisecond. Many have severe control issues.
Capricorn:
I like Caps. Some people think they're cold, but I think they're assertive and have a good sense of boundaries. I love their ambition and they're pretty genuine.
BUT:
Do ALL of you have depression? Happiness takes like a 7-day processing time, apparently. Your mood is SO connected to your energy levels, too. Are you okay?
Sagittarius:
Intuitive as HELL. Also creative and down to back you in your impulses. The amount of ambition and energy they put into their goals is admirable. Genuine friends, a good friend of mine is a Sagittarius.
BUT:
They cut off people quick enough that it breaks the sound barrier. They'd rather burn down a building than let the occupants walk all over them again. Which clashes with the usual desire to be the parent of the friend group. Also impulsive as all hell.
Pisces:
I've never spent a ton of time around this sign. They usually seem like they've got a pretty good sense of the future. They always have a back-up plan and are intuitive. Pretty good sense of humour, too.
BUT:
That ego will swing pretty quick from king of the world to lower than dirt, won't it? A very emotional sign. Once that temper is reached, there's no going back.
Aquarius:
This is a fun one. Creative, spontaneous, usually downright weird. Sherlock is a canonic Aquarius, which explains a lot. They're usually highly intelligent. I've dated only one, and it was one of my best relationships.
BUT:
"Down to earth" doesn't apply when these blighters can't FIND the earth. They can be unreliable-- a LOT are pretty selfish. "Out of touch" is also a good descriptor.
Libra:
Oscar Wilde is a Libra. A witty, charismatic sign. They also usually have a pretty good aesthetic/artistic sense. So many Libras have me laughing until I cry. GREAT at parties. I get along with a good lot of them.
BUT:
I have Never seen a Libra admit they were wrong. They also can be pretty flaky and unreliable. They will sit on that fence until they become one with it.
-Xanthe

In the story of a reimagining of S6 in regards to the pregnancy, there is something that I have been thinking about in terms of where the story could go if the concept of their powers/abilities is still in play:
It would have been very interesting if because of Percival’s mind control abilities and how easily anyone can be influenced by him that it would viewed by the gang but especially Tabitha would express Betty not to give birth at the hospital, she has seen the future and knows that if the babe was born there something evil would happen there. Due to the fact that leaving her and the life of the infant in the hands of someone who can change on a dime would not be recommended. This would also come about when trying to figure out the best course of action as to where would be the safest place for them and by extension Toni and Anthony to hide away with. Archie’s house as an unsafe place given how easily Percival feels entitled to manipulate Alice and Frank. So maybe, after Heather or maybe Sabrina is introduced they have them stay at Thornhill to protect them and thats where the birth ends up happening. Thornhill would be the safest place for them. Betty wandering the halls of Thornhill… waiting for her son to be born like how she was there for a bit when Polly came back. As then the climatic drama of the story is when Betty begins her labour when in theory the battle of 6x21 happens against Percival and who is there for Betty and who goes to fight with Archie even though he wants to desperately be by Betty’s side. It could also be that during big battle against Percival that its only Toni with her, giving something different for Toni to do instead of what actually happened during that sequence in the show. It would see her sheltering Anthony like in the canon but also supporting Betty in the moment of greatest need. Plus who doesn’t love when it’s just Toni and Betty together on screen. While everyone else is out fighting to save the town. To then everyone comes back to the house with Betty having delivered baby Freddie and Archie and crew securing the win.
As I can just imagine, after the war is over… Toni calling Cheryl who is beside Archie when they get notice of Freddie’s birth and Archie’s mad dash with Cheryl towards Thornhill. The entire time Archie’s focus is on getting to Thornhill to be with Betty and their son. They arrive first at Thornhill, Archie running throughout the house calling for Betty and Toni then find them in a room where Betty lay in a bed with baby Freddie swaddled in her arms. Archie immediately coming to her side and seeing his son’s face for the first time..
“Freddie, say hi to daddy…” Betty says so calmy as the newborn sleeps in her arms
“He’s real… like he’s really real…” Archie states as tears form in his eyes…
“He is as real as you and I are Arch, I told you that it would happen someday and he would come after we dealt with the bad guys first…” and we have their first moments as a family and Archie holds him for the first time..
Also this entire scenario would have weaved in a bit of the Vale plot Betty and Archie’s child being the one to help save the town and could have been so cool to have witnessed but we got what we got..
A very interesting take on how everything might go down! Thank you for sharing!
I admit I would personally love to shy away from the supernatural as much as possible in a Season 6 rewrite because I’m not confident in it but I definitely think Percival’s presence, and their powers, would come into play inevitably.
I think they would try to hide it as long as possible, fearful of Percival’s control. Additionally, I think they (Betty especially) would worry about their powers affecting the baby somehow (on top of her worries about serial killer genes). Betty would also want to hide it from TBK, her co-workers, etc.
This ask makes me also think of the ways Cheryl’s plot would come into play. I think about when Bitsy had her baby and Cheryl (forgot her name in that timeline lol) tells her babies born on Bailey’s comet are signs of good luck.
I imagined that would have a role to play later in the season (and wonder if it was initially written that way). It seems like a Barchie baby would be some type of positive force to help the universe.
I also love the idea of the baby’s arrival aligning with the final war somehow, though the timeline is messy af. And I do think Toni would have a part to play after 6x2. I could never have the baby born without Archie there though, I think that would kill me.
We’ll see what I put together 🙃
