She was wearing a pretty pink dress. One that made her look like a cute jellyfish.

You saw her earlier when going to your next task.

It didn't come as weird that she probably found out you were taking an extra shift at the aquarium. Just the thought of her coming by to surprise you made your heart flutter.

Maybe you can finally give her that necklace. It's been in your pocket for a while, but you just got so nervous.

You knew her usual route to take around the aquarium, so she would be stopping by the large fish display soon.

The beat of your heart sped up and you began to sing to calm yourself down.

"Then afterwards we drop into a quiet little place"

It didn't really help and you began to daydream of how you would present the gift to her.

"And have a drink or two"

Standing on the catwalk over the large tank, you held the control box for the lights to adjust them a little higher, but then you saw her. Standing in front of the display.

"And then I go and spoil it all"

"Pay attention, stop making googoo eyes at your girl.", someone had said, most likely one of the six people in charge of feeding.

You couldn't help it. She was everything to you.

And then you saw some random guy put a hand on her waist.

"By saying something stupid"

Confused, you watched on and were about to drop everything to run over.

"Like I love.."

Then they kissed.

"..you..."

Everything just stopped.

You clutched the control in your hands as you felt your heart break.

Then there was a shout from behind you before the lights came crashing down on the catwalk, breaking it in half, taking you and the staff sinking down into the water.

Everything hurt.

You didn't want to move.

Metal dug into your stomach and you couldn't move your legs, the water turning red, a line of it following after as you sank deeper.

Maybe it would stop hurting if you just let the water fill your lungs.

You closed your eyes and tried to "breathe."

The water burned as it filled your lungs.

Slowly, you were losing your train of thought.

You really did like the water. Often wanting to be a mer person just so you can watch the light beams shimmering into the water.

Maybe you'll get to swim more often.

The burning sensation just got stronger, as did the sinking.

All that was left was the dark empty feeling as you sunk down deeper and deeper.

Then, numbness.

You sat up with a gasp, taking deep breaths of air.

The familiar sight of your hotel room greeted you. Dark red wallpaper, dresser, and the door to your bathroom.

With a sigh, you flopped back into the pillows.

Why? You thought and hid your face into your blanket.

Maybe it's because the Radio Demon had you sing to him every time you had one of those songs.

You couldn't help it. It still hurt and you didn't want to lash out and scare everyone.. So you sang. It's all you could do, it's all you wanted to do.

Shaking the last remnants of the nightmare, you got up and went to get ready for the day.

I need to forget.

Alastor noticed that his siren was a little more closed off than usual today.

It's been a week since he gave them the gift and they have been using it constantly. They spoke to him a little more, which is what he wanted. The plan was a success.

But why did they feel so far away today?

They had sang him those sad songs he asked for. Their lovely voice echoed in the bayou and they were just picture perfect.

He had debated on having them sing on a broadcast, but he decided to be selfish and keep their talent to himself. They were his and no one would be able to take them away, no one would have the chance to.

Back to the current situation.

His little mer was quiet. Not a peep or a squeak out of them today.

Everyone else in the hotel shrugged it off, used to their muteness, but the deer demon could not.

What happened?

Did someone cause this?

Who did he have to kill...

He had his shadow keep an eye on them, mostly because they were used to its presence and not his. Not yet at least.

Lying in wait, he sat on his chair in the radio tower. With a flick of his hand, he used his magic to connect to his shadow.

And through the shadows eyes, he saw them close. Unusually close..

Were they holding the shadow's face?

Glancing around, he saw that they were sitting on one of the smooth rocks in their little area. His shadow was most likely resting its chin on their tail.

Then they started singing.

"Days seems sometimes as if they'll never end

Sun digs its heels to taunt you"

How lovely. He thought and just stayed still to listen.

"Memories swim and haunt you

But look into the lake, shimmering like smoke

Rises the moon"

This was new. A hint of sadness but mostly calming.

"I promise you that soon the autumn comes

To steal away each dream you keep

Breathe, breathe, breathe.."

He felt like his worries were gone, as if they were never there.

"I had a nightmare today. Of my death..", they whispered with a sad smile. "I was drowning. I remember sinking down, deeper into the water. The blood."

Then they lifted their tail out of the water.

"Maybe that's why this is red."

Ah, he knew it had something to do with drowning, but that's all the file said.

What else happened? He wondered.

"It's so silly.", they laughed lightly. "I should stop bothering you now."

His shadow thankfully stopped them from moving, leaning more into the Mer's hold.

They blinked in surprise and then let out a real laugh.

"Ok, I'll keep holding your face."

Please keep smiling.

And then they pecked the shadow's forehead.

"Thank you for listening."

I had an idea and then the idea moved my hands to type.

Very cool detail about Elena of Avalor that I just noticed. Shuriki's hair whipping to the side is actually a very subtle hint that Elena's sneaking behind her with her invisibility spell ready to ambush her. I've rewatched the show several times and only just recently picked up on this but it is pretty damn cool! (This scene is my favorite in the whole show btw)

Fuller's teasel was introduced to North America in the 1700s as a valuable agricultural crop used in the manufacture of woolen cloth. That was then and this is now. According to the Invasive Species Council of British Columbia, "Teasel is a biennial plant that prefers sunny locations and can grow in a range of wet to dry soils. It has spread to natural spaces where it is inedible to wildlife. It typically invades meadows, pastures, roadsides, and disturbed areas. Teasel is designated as a Regional Containment/Control species by the BC Provincial Priority Invasive Species List."

This one 'invaded' our back garden several years ago but we valued it as a bold, botanical statement (and it has such pretty pink flowers), so we let it stay. This species rarely grows taller than two metres but yesterday I pulled out my ancient, pre-metric Stanley tape measure and this one topped out at 97 inches (over 8 feet or 2.5m). Yes indeed, this teasel is a magnificent specimen and this is about as big as a fuller's teasel can get. It's amazing what a bit of regular watering can do for an 'invasive' weed.

Ana only calling Eddie "Edmundo"? She's emotionally abusive, who doesn't respect his boundaries

Tommy calling Buck "Evan"? Oh its cute and shows how Tommy sees Buck's real self

Taylor recording Bobby when he's high? She's a bitch who doesn't deserve redemption (even when they show her and Bobby being civil)

FINALLY GOT TO SEE HIM AGAIN YIPPEE

It feels rather predictable to say because he’s a firefighter, duh, but Buck can be very observant, and that’s such a fun thing to play with about his character. He’s observant on calls of course, and we just saw how quick he is during the scene where he is overstimulated by Gerrard berating him, but still noticed the saw coming loose. But what’s most fun to play with is Buck being observant about Eddie.

Buck can be a little self-absorbed at times, but every moment that we see Eddie going through something or needing a push for a little exposition, it’s Buck who’s there to jumpstart the conversation. He notices Eddie trying to get a hold of Christopher during the earthquake. He notices Eddie acting weird about Ana, and the HIPAA violation exchange between the cardiologist and Eddie. Buck practically spends every waking moment of 7x04 observing Eddie while his friendship with Tommy is all shiny and new (and Buck gets jealous because of it). And then in the most recent episode, Buck walks into the Diaz house like it’s his too (it is, it is), thoroughly distracted by his baking and desire to call Tommy, and yet Buck still manages to turn around and catch Eddie in the act (turning his screen face down), and trying to act innocent eating that scone.

It’s like Buck sees Eddie acting even slightly off, and kill bill sirens start going off in his head because something’s up with his partner. And it gets ridiculous the more scenes they share together because Buck is always seeing right through whatever mask Eddie is trying to put on, and he always calls Eddie out about it (even if it takes him a few scenes). His Eddie-awareness is just insane and unparalleled.

Notebook Doodles - Kieran edition

This Wednesday was surprisingly calm as I took minimal notes for Online Marketing. We took a surprise test about statistics and number crunching, followed by a discussion about ads and ad blockers.

Hence, the doodle of Kieran cursing while holding his new phone. I imagine that as someone with limited access to the internet until he got his phone in the post-DLC game, he never experienced how annoying and overstimulating ads can be when you get that shit constantly. And Hydrapple, being the curious wyrms, is looking over his shoulder.

He's a bit OOC here. I wonder if Kieran would curse. I imagine he would do it once in a blue moon since he usually uses non-curse words to express his surprise and pain. The person who would be the most shocked would be Carmine if he were to swear in front of her, which is probably why Kieran hides it from her, as she can react quite strongly.

The Applin in the bottom right is how Applins look when they start out. Or is this an Applin who recently lost their apple? Poor guy. It looks cute, though, slithering about.

Tried sketching Kieran tying his hair back, but the anatomy was not working out. I couldn't exactly pull up a reference in the middle of class (*^^;), so it will just stay like that

And I added a tiny little Flore! There was no space to draw them fully, but that didn't stop me! I love these two a lot <3
