You sat by your desk gnawing at the inside of your cheek staring at your phone expectantly. It felt as if you were burning from the inside out, fighting back the tears that were pooling at your waterline. The pen in your drawing mindless shapes on the page instead any work.

You should’ve just gone to London when George asked then none of this would’ve happened and you could’ve got your work done anyways.

The pit in your stomach continued to grow throughout the day as no texts from your boyfriend lit up your phone. No updates from Chris or Arthur on if he was okay.

You felt helpless.

You felt lost without him.

You picked up your phone to send another text but stopped yourself not wanting to annoy him any more.

You dropped your phone to the desk and walked to your bathroom splashing water over your face to wake yourself up. You hadn’t slept, you couldn’t sleep, everytime you tried you were reminded of cold space next to you.

The soft sounds of knocking echoed through your apartment and you walked to the door in confusion opening it slowly.

“I’m sorry.” George apologised as soon as you made eye contact with each other, and your arms immediately wrapped around his neck holding him close, “I shouldn’t have gotten mad at you.”

George buried his head into the crook of your neck wrapping his arms around your waist, “No, I’m sorry, I should’ve just went to London. I wanted to but I’m just so overwhelmed and I didn’t want to stress you out.”

George pulled away cupping your jaw in his hands kissing your forehead lovingly, “Come on.” He muttered, “Lets get some more work done, so we can order food because I’m fucking starving.”

You let out a small laugh nodding as you both walked into your flat and George made himself comfortable on the sofa whilst you took your seat at your desk once again.
