Hi!! Delivering some OC questions: What's their favorite genre of books? What's their least favorite genre?

The photos above is a bookshelf with books collected by JAKE (Juliet, Atticus, Karina and Eden)

Juli is the most avid reader out of the four. She can read every type of book, from the dark and grim to the soft and meaningful. Her favourite genre is History and poetry/theatrical as History relates to her dream of having her name in history while the theatrical is for her love of acting. Though Juli hates with a passion, any smutty book as she views those books as “Paper bounded by a weak plot, names and descriptions to aid those who cannot experience the ones in the book” she’s also asexual so it probably why she hates it.

Attina is a couple that have one brain cell, which makes them read smutty books because that’s the type of people they are and because they hate reading. Atticus reads it because one, he’s desperate, and two he likes making Juli angry. Karin mainly does to get more ideas. Though Karin also has books about beauty, depression, modelling and envy to help her issues. She also has books about the ugly duckling or swan lake as they relate to her swan theme. Atticus only have magazines that he stole from Karina. They both dislikes history and textbooks, basically just big wordy books.

Eden, mainly reads fairytales, kid books, sappy romances as well as books on building confidence, gardening, crochet. Eden like Atticus and Karina hates history and big wordy books.

i've been working on this idea since valentine's day and decided to skech out a cover (even though i literally only have a few out of context pages sketched lol)

over explained au idea under the cut

it's an au in which crowley is a human running his own plant store and aziraphale is a cherub that was kept in heaven after the eden/sword mishap. He runs the human archives in heaven and has been obsessed with humans ever since he met adam and eve. he's been schemeing for millenia to get a chance to go to earth (having only watched earth from the scrolls in the archives).

serendipitously, aziraphale finds an old file called the Cupid Project, a defunct project wherein angels would foster love amongst humans by helping them make connections (via celestial arrows to the heart, yeah. there was a reason it was cancelled). Seeing his chance, he pitches a reboot of the project to help more humans find love (and get his ass to earth). Annoyed, the archangels finally agree, if only to get him to stop pestering them. Under their terms, the archangels set a test for aziraphale to prove the project's worth. They pick a human for aziraphale to successfully find love for and give him one year to make it happen.

Anthony Crowley is a man that doesn't like to be bothered. He has a few 'friends' that check in on him from time to time, but really, he prefers to be alone with his plants. Really, he does. He's grumpy and prickly and pushes away anyone that gets too close. Which is what makes him the perfect candiate for aziraphale's test. Snickering to themselves, the archangels pick a man that couldn't possibly open himself to love. And when the year is up, aziraphale will be back in the archives, where he's promised not to bother them ever again.

tldr: human!crowley, angel!aziraphale, flower store, aziraphale as cupid. slow burn and strangers to friends to lovers. sappy romance, pining

some bonuses: the flowers crowley is holding are gardenias, which represent secret love. The flower's in the corner are cupid's dart, because of obvious reasons

Return to Eden - Chapter 3 - Final Chapter!

Chapter 3 - the final chapter! - of Return to Eden is live. Our story from @goodomensafterdark is now complete. I may visit this universe again in the future, but the story has a definitive resolution now (for all my WIP adverse folks and those who avoid angst before the comfort is written :) ).

This work can be read alone, but it will make more sense (and be more impactful) if you've read Fractured and Shatter first - they're all part of the Before Eden There Was a Garden Series.

Summary: Crowley and Aziraphale averted the second coming and were trying to pick up the pieces of their relationship when Aziraphale became plagued with nightmares. After hearing Aziraphale murmur a phrase from a previous life in his sleep, Crowley went in search of the one place that may be able to set everything right. Now Aziraphale must decide how much he wants to know and if he wants to remember at all.

Aziraphale stepped up to the wall, tentatively ran his hand over the stones he’d placed in the Eastern Gate, smoother now after eons of wear deep in the Earth’s mantle. The wall was low, worn down such that it resembled a border around a garden bed more than the formidable structure of Biblical times. “Why did you bring me here?”

Crowley paused, his expression both sorrowful and hopeful. His eyes roamed over Aziraphale’s face, as if he were trying to recall and memorize every expression. “Shall we go in?”

“Eden,” Azraphale whispered and he took the first tentative step over the ruins as Crowley followed.

The garden was familiar yet foreign. The path leading from the Eastern gate to the center of Eden was visible but overgrown by vining ground cover and grasses. The lushness of what had once been a carefully curated paradise had been allowed to flourish unrestrained. Tree limbs intertwined creating a canopy over the path that blocked the stars from view and could hide an angel and demon from curious eyes. The night blooms of primrose and gardenia and jasmine created a heady perfume as they competed with the day flowers and shrubs for their chance to thrive. 

Aziraphale wandered down the path in silence. Even in its overrun state he knew Eden. He recalled delighting in the blooms and birdsong, eyeing the serpent of Eden warily before making his acquaintance on the wall, guiding Adam and Eve down this path to be exiled through the Eastern gate. These memories he recognized, they were familiar and bracing—he had turned them over in his mind time after time until they were worn, smooth and comfortable. He was unprepared for the flashes of other recollections, fleeting and rapid like lightning, illuminating what he knew into sharp contrast to what he had once known. Before he could grasp the flashes, make sense of the fragments they plunged back into the darkness.

“Crowley, I can’t do this.”

A firm hand on his bicep turned Aziraphale toward the demon and he looked into his earnest, golden eyes. “You can, Angel. One step at a time. I’m here.”

Aziraphale slowly shook his head. “This is too much. I can’t- it’s all running together. Like that night- I don’t,” he paused. “I don’t trust myself to know what’s real and what’s not.”

“Then trust me.” His voice was soft but brokered no argument. “Sometimes the only way forward is through.”

Aziraphale wasn’t listening, his eyes had locked onto a patch of sweet peas that had grown unruly; the shoots casting tendrils on the surrounding plants as a makeshift trellis. He knelt on the path beside the plant, wrapping the delicate tendril around his index finger, contemplating the wafer-thin petals of the white flowers. Crowley watched him, silent and waiting.

Our Shattered Heart Chapter 6 Sneak Peak

I am FERAL for Oliver I cried during multiple parts of this story and my heart hurt writing some of this so please suffer with me!

“I brought some stuff from home Bug.” 

The nickname makes you freeze and you turn to him and find him with a small smile, and suddenly you're 8 again, running barefoot in the back garden when you stop suddenly and are falling when Oliver runs into you.

“Ow what was that for?”

You move onto your knees in gardenia patch and say simple word,

“Bug!” as a large caterpillar lumbers by.

He’s looking at you the same way as that night and theres movement in the door and you find Simon watching. His eyes meet yours are you remember kisses trailed down your neck and you flush and turn away. Oliver’s eyes widen at that and he looks to Simon, the taller man smirking under his mask before raising a brow in challenge and turning away from the door and stalking off. Something clicks in Oliver’s brain then and his chest tightens. 

So there was something. His mind whispers. He calms himself before unzipping his duffle. He pulls out a little box before calling your name. You look to him before your eyes widen and excitement runs though you.

“You didn’t”

He smiles heart thumping, 

“Yea I did Bug.” and he offers the worn box out and the rush forward with a happy laugh and snatch it out of his hand. You smoothly open it to reveal a vintage sony walkman and you tenderly hit the button and tilt back a laugh when Hozier starts playing from it. You move forward and tackle the man in a excited hug. He holds you with a chuckle as you flip the button from stop to play. You then look up at him in his arms and he is content for the first time in years.

Your eyes shine and they flicker back to the duffle bag at the gleam of silver.

“You can look its fine.” He looses his arms and allows you to move forward and you do but his arms wrap around your middle. You wiggle a little bit and a deep chuckle moves through you, you feel a muscular chest press against your back and can feel his dog tags.

“Not letting you go again darlin’” He murmurs it into your ear before setting his head next to yours. Your heart thumps in your chest and you look through his duffle finding a treasure trove of artifacts. He had been by home, Your old stuffed frog is lovingly holding a few mixed cassette tapes. You find a Polaroid and the film for it and something that hurts your heart, there is a picture of your unit signed by everyone. You see Steve holding hands with a girl and smile, happy for him. Then there is one more item, your pulse quickens. On a silver chain is a set of matching rings. The silver is a little wonky, and the gems are glass but you handle the necklace like it is the most valuable item in the world. 

It was the same rings you both got that day before he left. 

“Where?”

“I took a lone trip back home after the ops. I thought about everything and I found them in the space in the wall.” His voice deepens and he spins you in his arms.

-The first record about Verde's music career was a magicam video cover Ellis asked her to do about one of her favorite songs… It was a small success that encouraged her to finally use her music

-however as some interviews showed Verde hasn't been the most comfortable at first with singing, dancing and the piano… she was shy about going on stage but got better the more her friends encouraged her

-Her talent to play the Piano was supposedly taught by a childhood friend but she didn't elaborate much and seems somber when asked about it.

-her first solo song she posted on her current official channel was a song called. "Gardenia Wind." A Tribute to her childhood friend

i went home — watched my mom braid onions that she grew in the ghost of the mobile home where i grew up. watched my dad prepare food and bedding for the worms he grows to help the onions and the small slice of eden they carved out of a wild wild place that had been left to rot. i went home and my mom gives me apples to breathe because she sees that i'm not doing it, eat the apple and feel better. she boils water for tea as my dad talks about the many aspects of a seven-day-pattern and tells me that the authorities in my life have let me down and forced me to devour the growth i've worked so hard to cultivate, cannibalizing myself in order to survive. a hummingbird approaches the back porch and then dives into the soft, heavy green of the overloaded gardenia bush. a yellow swallowtail butterfly lands in the grass. it's been so long since i've heard the birds talk that all i can do is sit and listen, eavesdropping on their song like a student trying to emulate a teacher. like a bird whose feathers had been plucked out, bleeding and wingless and in so much pain but wishing, wishing, wishing. i eat the apple, i drink the tea, i think about the garden as my mom tells me about short day onions. my dad tells me about fermentation and symbiosis. the summer bugs prepare their wings and their song for the long days ahead. and i work on remembering how to breathe.

Did Linnaeus consider himself to be a second Adam? Certainly, he imagined himself, like Adam, to have been divinely inspired. Perhaps most telling of all, the frontispiece of the 11th edition of Systema naturae (1760) shows him in Paradise surrounded by animals and plants of all kinds. At his feet is his own flower, Linnea borealis, while in the centre of the piece is depicted Diana polymammae, who represents the fecundity of nature. The iconography is unmistakeably that of Adam in Eden. [...] [But] Linnaeus's supporters also realised that this system was artificial, and only approached the perfection of Adamic taxonomy. The Scottish physician and naturalist Alexander Garden (1730-91), who gave his name to the beautifully scented gardenia flower, consoled Linnaeus for not having come up with a natural system of classification, observing: 'The man who gives the natural system must be a second Adam, seeing intuitively the differences of things.' It is the end of the 6 weeks at African Impact at Pardamat.

Everything comes to an end and feeling like this has been a great experience, but I am looking forward to the next two weeks. Joanne and I go to Samburu in the north. There are a few different wild animals there to see along with all the marvelous beasts that frequent Kenya wilds.

The Masai Mara trip last Sunday was wonderful. It is a beautiful place of rolling hills, plains, rivers and grass, acacia trees, gardenia trees etc et. Endless it seems with no man made structures as far as the eye can see. It must be like the world was before man messed it up. Or the garden of eden.

I think photos tell the best story so here goes. These are of three cheetahs two males and a female who got discovered. Cars came from everywhere to see them. I am glad there are tourists wanting to see these beautiful creatures, but this seemed overboard to me and the cheetahs got confused trying to leave through the circle of safari vehicles.
