Even after serving as Atlantis’s king for five years now, Arthur doubted he would get used to the searing smell of salt that constantly clung to everything around him. It burned his nostrils even when he was lounging around the JL tower and part of him wondered if he would ever be able to properly scent out his mate while the sea constantly invaded his senses. Though even before he claimed the throne, he wasn’t exactly successful on that front.

He felt like he had searched everywhere for his omega, the biological urge deep down in his chest driving him to scour every inch of the earth for them. But they had eluded him and even if his parents (themselves being true mates) assured him that the right omega would appear when the time was right, he remained alone with the smell of the sea. 

Arthur was almost glad, at times, for a good fight. Smoke, sparks from his trident, even blood gave him a break from the usual salt that surrounded him, temporarily cleansing his pallet so to speak. But maybe not today he thought with a wince.

Hundreds of broken robots surrounded him, the never-ending wave of enemies only getting thicker as his exhaustion began to mount. Batman was somewhere deep in the crowd, attempting to override their programming as Arthur tried to keep him safe enough. New enemies were always a pain in the ass but this one was definitely levels above the other newbies they fought. And Arthur was already fantasising about what he’d do to the skinny little white guy as soon as he got his hands on him, that is if Batman didn’t get to either of them first.

“Is there any way to hurry this up!” He shouted above the screaming of gears and failing electronics. 

“This would go faster if you stopped hitting them at me.” The Bat growled as he hit yet another firewall in their programming. Arthur took another swing of his trident, knocking away a flying robot that had gotten way too close to his partner’s head for comfort. It let out a high pitched whine as it was launched into the horizon.

“This would be faster if you didn’t type in the wrong code to begin with!” A batarang screamed past his ear, landing right in the huge glowing eye of the robot hovering just over Arthur’s right shoulder. Oil sprayed from its side, coating Arthur’s hair. 

A deafening roar sounded through the empty field as another shipping container rose from the ground, releasing even more robots. Batman turned back to the computer, his fingers flying over the keyboard all while the swarm closed in around them. “This is gonna hurt.” Arthur cocked back his shoulder and raised his trident, maybe he could knock out a few rows of them before they got too close and he’d have to switch to his fists. 

Just as he readjusted his grip to throw the trident into the thickest grouping of robots, everything went silent.

The now frozen robots hung in the air like someone had just paused time, though they still whirred and whined, their huge red eyes glowing even brighter. Then, with little more than a sharp click from somewhere to his right, they were pulled backwards, the mechanical bodies slamming into each other as they were forced together into one huge sphere hundreds of feet off the ground. 

“What the fuck?” Suddenly, the sphere crumpled like tin foil, the metal warping and collapsing until all that was left was a flat sheet of wires and dying LEDs. It slammed into the earth, disappearing behind the long grass as Batman’s screen turned green.

“Great timing there bats.” But Arthur’s tone held no bite, not when the salty smell of the ocean and ozone slammed into him. 

Immediately, every nerve in his body came to life, buzzing like he was drunk but his mind was clear, clearer than it ever had been before. A figure was walking through the grass, elegantly avoiding the mangled carcasses of their battle. As she approached, her scent became stronger and Arthur could now smell the subtle hint of something flowery like a warm spring breeze. 

The light of the sunset made her practically glow as she moved, her thick curves and perfect dips highlighted by a tight catsuit that looked like it was pulled straight from his teenage fantasies. 

“I hope I didn’t show up too late.” Her voice floated around him and Arthur’s knees buckled. 

“You’re right on time.” Her e/c eyes met his golden ones and he watched as her nose turned up and she took a deep breath of his scent. Her heavy chest hitched and her own scent turned sweeter. His stomach flipped as something deep inside him stretched awake for the first time in what seemed like years.

“Y/N. What took so long?” Batman crossed his arms as he looked down at her, his jaw ticking in anger. Yet her expression never faltered, in fact she glanced at Arthur with a raised eyebrow. Her smile was bright, shining with something ethereal. 

“Oh I don’t know, maybe the fact that you gave me a coded message with the coordinates instead of being a normal person and sharing your location with me? I may have psychic powers but I suck at math dude.” 

“That was you?” Arthur hadn’t noticed that his body was moving on its own until he finally spoke again and she had to crane her head almost all the way back to make eye contact with him. Warmth unlike anything he had experienced before bloomed through his chest as she leaned towards him, fluttering her lashes up at him.

“I have a lot of tricks better than that.” Her scent was almost overpowering now but all he wanted to do was drown in it. Y/N’s shoulder brushed against his pec and something snapped.

The world tilted on its axis and he suddenly knew what his parents were talking about when they said that the moment they met, nothing else mattered. “Omega.” 

Her body sagged into him as she breathed out an almost inaudible “alpha”. His trident dropped unnoticed to the ground. 

“I’ve finally found you.” She fell easily into his arms, like they had been made to hold her. She pressed her face as close as she could get, her words muffled against the thick armour but he could hear her clearly all the same. 

“You stole my line,” he whispered into her hair, breathing her scent as much as he could, “I’ve been waiting for you for so long. Who knew I’d find you after you saved my life?” Her giggle made his heart swell with affection and pride.

“You’ve obviously been looking in the wrong place.” Y/N looked up at him as he cupped her full cheek with a massive hand, guiding her face upwards. His eyes dropped to her lips.

“I could say the same about you.” He leaned down and just as his lips were about to touch hers-

“Alright that’s enough,” Bruce snarled, “need I remind you both that there’s still a villain we need to deal with.” 

Y/N never looked away from Arthur, in fact she wound an arm around his neck and tugged him even closer. His alpha roared to life, hyper-focusing on the softness of her curves beneath his hands. “You go ahead, I think my alpha and I have done more than enough heavy lifting for the day, we have better things to do.”

“I’m going to regret asking but what exactly is more important than dealing with a potentially global threat?” Arthur smirked, catching on to the game she was playing.

His right hand dropped from where it was resting on her wide hip down to the plump cheeks of her ass. “I’m going to rip her clothes off and fuck her brains out right in this field. So unless you’re into that stuff-“ she slapped his chest at that, “-then I suggest you move on, Bats, cause right now, nothing is going to stop me from claiming my omega.”

“You two are disgusting.” He grumbled and walked off, finally leaving the newly discovered mates alone.

“Now where were we?” Arthur purred before Y/N yanked him down and finally kissed him, making the smell of the ocean explode around them.

Her scent had been haunting him for years, etching itself into his mind and suddenly, Arthur loved the smell of salt again because it meant that he finally had his omega.

Out of all the Transformers iterations, Bayverse Autobots and Decepticons are most likely to get turned into Bakugan. The old school style toys with more simplified play style. Not the shitty reboots that get worse every time.

Both sides would HATE it cause they are tiny gumball sized toys with barely little resemblance to themselves in ball/toy form. All the colorless gray bots get a new paint job as attributes are given at random. The more aggressive ones like Ironhide or Megatron take it a lot worse as a pockets have become the equivalent of baby jail.

Want to make the situation even more chaotic? Put all of them under a single human's care and said person being the only one who can allow them to (temporarily) assume their true form. A very weird situation since the game there is completely normal card game, not the TV show/videogame variants.

The war definitely ain't continuing unless the newly dubbed 'Bakugan Bots' or 'Bakubots' want to get thrown in the time-out for misbehaving. Let them get forced to get along for two years as forced found family is hilarious. Then toss everyone into a different Transformers iteration and watch the fireworks.

Bakubots alongside their human partner trying to survive as these versions aren't stuck in a toy form plus but are still fighting too. Meanwhile both factions are so fucking confused by this strange fleshie who can summon peculiar Cybertronians that radiate strange energy. (And share very familiar names or similar behavior.)

I love chaos plus this thought wouldn't leave me alone. Lol

-Q and Wheeljack are separate bots, not the same person.

-Only faction aligned bots are in this situation. Neutral such as Scourge aren't. Sentinel ain't here since he takes advantage of both factions and thus Neutral Evil. Fallen is also Neutral Evil.

-Minicons/Cassettes function as Bakugan Traps. Thus they have multiple elements to benefit from Ability and Gate Cards in return for their non-existent power.

-Size doesn't equal strength. Only power/Gs matter in a fight.

-Gate Cards can be set whenever and wherever. Only 3 are allowed out so one has to activate before another can be added.

-What each Attribute is. Pyrus: Fire, Aquos: Water, Haos: Light, Ventus: Wind, Darkus: Dark and Subterra: Earth.

Hello world! Let me present to you one of my pitches for an animated series (college thesis) About a private investigator hunting anomalies, but in reverse! (sort of)

This takes place in your regular mundane Earth with wacky creatures inhabiting it, and of course, CIA agents taking care of them before causing any ruckus to the human world.

This series follows our main guy, Caesar Raymond Thompson, a living sentient TV static amalgam who decided to leave his "shell" to pursue his dream job, a cool detective guy like his favorite shows (that he uh..broadcasts himself??). However even if Caesar is incredibly naive to the current situation, his idea to solve the "anomaly kidnapping by the government" problem is to open a new secret radio channel about helping various clients with their troubles via interviewing anomalies in hopes that they can sort things out and not call the cops.

All of this while *trying* to keep a low profile so he doesn't get pulverized by the government either.

Caesar is, to put it shortly, an incredibly charming but insanely naive guy. He's cheery, he's very gullible, has no idea how to properly wear a jacket, you have to manually turn down his volume with a remote otherwise he won't stop shouting like a reporter, his only sense of reality comes from TV shows themselves. Caesar is the type of person that is constantly trying to appeal in order for others to like him with little consideration of himself.

As already stated, he is literally just TV static, but he's more than just a cutout of a conventionally looking detective man. He's kinda like a slime (not a blob, we are getting to those waaay more later on a future post). He can mold himself to any shape and change how solid or meltier his body can be. However he can't stay out of his TV shell without proper rest for more than 24hs otherwise he will start to fall apart.

You can also control parts of his body (mute him, change a channel, even temporarily kill him by turning him off!) if you ever get to hold his own remote (PLEASE be gentle with him).

But every silly personal investigator in his 30s needs a middle aged (radio) man to partake (and publicly broadcast) his wacky endeavors, of course

Rodrigo is your average man (erm personality wise), nothing too eccentric, likes to chill while playing old songs (he even has access to music most people consider lost media!), Not very tuned to the modern world. He has to constantly put Caesar back to reality any time he gets into antics, but is too kind to yell or be rude. Rodri is pretty much a very tired man, but he really appreciates his buddy-partner.

He's a bit strange to explain, most people consider him an animated object (him being the radio) but he's a little bit more complex, you see, Rodrigo is technically the voice of an announcer living inside a radio, a (somewhat) human conscience with no physical body that travels through a radio signal. The radio is nothing more than his "house".

Unlike Caesar who is simply static and has no channel of his own, Rodrigo "rests" on his own hidden radio channel, basically an empty space where he talks with no one far away listening, however he isn't unreachable, by performing a few silly tricks with your own radio trims and buttons (or calling a mysterious number) you might have access to his broadcast.

Rodrigo is mostly blind, he has no eyes after all, but, he can kinda"see" sometimes if the objects in the room are moving and making noise, otherwise he only sees static.

Well! that's it for now! More worldbuilding and info about these goofballs will eventually come out (aprox) next month! (this story is also bound to change due to it being a college project). Follow me to keep up with my funny guys, in the meantime...

Noble OCs - Ru

Making five OCs for every clan!

Eun Ru: Non-pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to the Previous Lord’s generation.

Eun is a guardian of the bamboo forests in the Ru territory. His job is to patrol the area and check on the bamboo’s health with his fellow guardians. Though fairly unlikely to happen, he also watches out for potential theft and vandalism. Eun is a quiet man and many people find his calm aura to be very reassuring. When he spots guests, he leads them to one of their many guest reception areas and treats them to fragrant tea and traditional Ru pastries as they rest and enjoy the view from the pavilion. He never asks questions about people’s preferences for refreshments but he somehow always knows what they’ll like the most. When the guests leave, he sends them off with extra pastries to bring home and tells them that they can visit the Ru waterfalls next time. Eun is a childhood friend of Qing, the mother and predecessor of Kei. He followed her around everywhere. Sometimes he did her homework when she didn’t want to as he’s a master of copying her handwriting. He also prepared her ink stones when she did calligraphy. Before Qing entered eternal sleep with the Previous Lord, she gifted a bamboo flute to her childhood friend. Eun’s hobby is playing the daegeum which he received from Qing. He met his current partner thanks to this daegeum. One day, she was nearby and heard his music and decided to follow the beautiful melody all the way to the top of the waterfall where Eun happened to be practicing and the two of them fell in love at first sight. They have a pair of twins and plan to have another child soon.

Baek-ho Ru: Pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to the Previous Lord’s generation.

Baek-ho is a pleasant man and a passionate cat lover. He takes care of the supernatural tigers in the Ru territory and almost never leaves them unless there is someone whom he trusts enough to take over temporarily. He has two assistants to help him with this job, who are Eun’s twins Dasik and Yakgwa Ru. Baek-ho religiously brushes the tigers’ spectacular shining coats twice a day and they show their love for him by licking him back, which is why his hair is always pointing in all sorts of directions. Some nobles joke about how he’s probably a tiger instead of a noble. Baek-ho takes that as a huge compliment. Damn, how he wishes he were one for real. Baek-ho usually walks around barefoot because that makes less noise and he thinks the tigers will be more comfortable that way when they don’t actually mind at all. When Kei was a small child, Baek-ho probably made an offhanded comment on how walking barefoot will make him “ten times stronger and more connected to the divine aura of the earth” or something and the former’s been without shoes ever since. Baek-ho totally made that up because he was just bored. He didn’t think Kei would be dead serious about it, but hey it’s kind of funny. Baek-ho makes cute tiger-shaped pastry moulds and gives them to Eun. He says it promotes “local tourism” and everyone should come marvel at what the Ru has to offer. He’s right, everyone should go outside more. Hiking is a good exercise, y’all.

Nari Ru: Non-pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to Raskreia’s generation.

Nari loves kids. When Ru parents are busy, they entrust her with babysitting their kids and Nari watches over them before their parents come back to pick them up. She enjoys playing with them and thinks their little minds are certainly very intriguing. Nari is not exactly an expert at super advanced martial arts, but she does know a few impressive moves and sometimes teaches the kids those too. Nari is a friend of Ixchel Elenor. She eventually moves out of Lukedonia and now resides in South Korea because Ixchel somehow convinced her that it’ll be more interesting to live outside. It’s a brand new world, she said. Human kids are cute. And the two of them can even live next door to each other! Currently, Nari runs a small Taekwondo center and the neighborhood’s kids come over after school. Ixchel gave Nari some human money to start her business and she became successful in no time thanks to her friendly aura and excellent people skills. Nari’s current partner is a single dad and the father of one of her Taekwondo students. He’s kind and sweet, and teaches math at the tutoring center across the street and they chat during breaks. Sometimes he buys her coffee, sometimes she buys him coffee. They adore each other very much, and he and his son eventually move in with Nari because her home is more spacious. Nari cries happy tears when her boyfriend’s son starts calling her mom. The three of them get ice cream together with their next-door neighbors Ixchel and her boyfriend every weekend. Like Ixchel, Nari probably won’t move back to Lukedonia.

Han Ru: Non-pureblood. Entered forced eternal sleep, belonged to Gejutel’s generation.

Han was abandoned by his parents not long after he was born. His parents only wanted one child but their combined soul fragments unexpectedly cracked into two pieces and they got twins instead. Han and his identical twin were born outside of Lukedonia due to their parents being traveling nobles. Ultimately, they decided to keep only one child and Han was the one they left behind. His parents showed no signs of remorse and went back to Lukedonia and continued to live normal lives with their “only child” as if nothing had ever happened. A small clan of kindhearted werewolves came across the helpless crying noble baby and took him in. They gave him his name and raised him with their own children. His found family never attempted to hide his true identity from him and once he was old enough, they explained to him that they found him as an orphan. Han loved his werewolf family very much and lived a fulfilling life as a tattoo artist and massage therapist. The werewolves praised him for his excellent dexterity with his ink work and massage techniques, and cited him as their savior after tough spars because he just knows how to work with sore muscles. At some point, several very surprised nobles on a diplomatic mission met Han by chance and asked him why he’s living with werewolves all of a sudden, and that’s when all of them, including himself, learned that he’s an identical twin. Then they asked if he would like to come back to Lukedonia with them, which he respectfully declined. The werewolves are his family now, he said. They exchanged farewells on good terms and went about their day. A few years later, Han was killed when his family was attacked by a larger and more aggressive werewolf clan. They were outnumbered, and the enemy warriors grabbed him by the neck and held him hostage in front of his clan. His family groveled at their aggressors’ feet and were willing to surrender if they could have Han back, except the enemy didn’t honor their end of the deal and pierced Han’s heart and yanked it out of his chest and he died. Then, they slaughtered everyone else. A true tragedy to behold.

Caiyun Ru: Pureblood. Alive in the present day, belongs to Raskreia’s generation.

Caiyun is Baek-ho’s daughter. The moment she was born, a colorful shining cloud appeared in the sky, hence her name. Caiyun is rumored to be a ghost because people only ever see her when it’s foggy, and she never seems to leave the mountains. Caiyun just shrugs. Not bad, ghosts are pretty damn cool, except she’d prefer to be called a spirit instead simply because it sounds more stylish. Either way. In reality, Caiyun summons fog to shroud her own appearance most of the time because she’s shy and feels more comfortable that way. While she doesn’t resist being in a social situation, having some transition time is nice because it allows her to get a chance to mentally prepare herself for a conversation. It’ll take a minute before people figure out what’s behind the fog. She won’t freak out if she has to go without, but it’ll make her just a tad uncomfortable. It took a while for Baek-ho to teach his daughter that concealing herself with fog and filling up the whole room with it in the middle of an indoor gathering isn’t the most polite thing to do. Caiyun compromised. Now she just hides her face. It’s like she’s walking around with her head stuck in a cloud. She can see perfectly fine even if the others can’t make eye contact with her. Problem solved. And regarding the second part of the rumor, she does actually leave the mountains, just that she’s relatively secretive about her whereabouts so people think she only ever stays there. No one knows where or when she’s gone except for her parents and a few close friends. The others don’t need to know. Caiyun is training herself in the martial arts and admires their current Clan Leader Kei for his immense strength and skills. When she’s not busy, she plays with the tigers. She hates it when they lick her, though.

I wouldn't say "possessive" is the right word in this case. Risotto has put a lot of faith in your relationship and genuinely thinks the two of you are going to last together, if he's decided to commit himself to become your partner.

Moreover, he knows that being the capo of La squadra, he won't always be there, and would be more than glad to know your have other important people in your life to make you happy when he's away.

But. But he's very protective of you and your relationship. He knows that just letting you be in his life means you're always going to face some sort of threat, so when he actually is around, he will be very careful and won't let you get too far away from him.

❗️How would they surprise their S/O?

I like to think that Risotto is not very good at surprising people unless you count him murdering them a surprise. So he'll be kind of lost when the rest of the team suggests him to catch you off guard with something unexpected.

After some thought, he decides that the best way he has to surprise you, is to come home one day to you without you knowing anything about it. Maybe he told you he was going to be away all week, yet there he is waiting on your front door for you to open.

At this point, after greeting you with a kiss and a smile, possibly some flowers too, Risotto will be willing to spend all your time together as you prefer, anything is okay for him and he just wants to make you happy, especially if it had been a while since you two got to he together like this.

Risotto is a very busy and down the earth man. Sadly, I don't think he has much time to daydream about you, to he honest. If he's on a murder mission or investigating about... A certain person he has a problem with, he'll be far too focused on his job to think about his partner.

Aside from that, however, I can actually see him thinking back about little sweet moments the two of you shared, wishing to always make new memories with you and perhaps thinking about what he could do to improve your relationship.

With that being said, considering you'd probably move him with him after some time, especially since he's an adult, he'd much rather make those thoughts become reality instead of fantasizing. He prefers concrete facts.

(Can I just say I'm surprised this wasn't requested more? I was expecting it to be one of the most asked, guess I was wrong lol)

Mh...Like I said, Risotto has a lot of trust in you and your bond. He knows he can be quite attractive considering his look and wouldn't be too surprised if you were to fall for him at first.

On the other hand, he will he very surprised and won't really...Understand at first, when you decide to remain with him even after finding out about his job. Doesn't he disgust you? Aren't you afraid of him? Of a literal assassin?

These thoughts sometimes cross his mind and makes him wonder if you're too good of a person to be with a cruel mafioso like him. Wouldn't you rather find someone a bit less... Dangerous? That can actually give you a stable life?

At the end of the day, however, your sole presence is more than enough to take those ideas off his mind very often, and he's gunshot happy with you and hopes you're happy with him.

💍How would they propose to their S/O?

Risotto would think thought proposing you a lot before actually taking this step. Is it too early? Maybe even too late? Do you have everything that you need for a demi-stable marriage? It's one of the most important decisions in his life and he wants to take it with his head, not just his heart.

When these two sides eventually come to an agreement, it's time to actually put the idea into action. I think he'd rather propose to you in a very quiet and intimate place, with nothing nor to distract you from each other and the special moment the two of you will be sharing.

It would probably be at night, after a carefully crafted evening spent together, he'd get down on his knee and propose to you only illuminated by the stars and the small sparkle in his red eyes.

"I have to admit, amore mio, I hadn't planned for someone to have such a deep impact on my life after the loss I've experienced long ago. Yet, you never felt hesitation in being with me, despite knowing the uncertainty of what the future may have in mind for people like me. And while I cannot give you safety, I can give you my love, a treasure you helped me discover, and it is only fair that I share...No, that I gift to you, if you'll let me. So, will you marry me?"

This has to be the like tenth or eleventh part of my Justice League Canada stuff that i'm sharing. I can't believe I wrote so much, especially when I remember I probably won't get around to making any of this stuff a real comic.

Issue #45: Chronos (as possesed by Kronos/Saturn) flung The Question back to victorian england, where he'd already previously trapped the Blue Beetle. Now stuck back in the past, these two old charlton characters get into a past adventure involving a killer stalking the streets of london. Yes, the question and blue beetle end up going after the infamous bandit Gentleman Jim Craddock (before his death and transformation into the gentleman ghost). So this would be probably the most lighthearted of all the time stories in this little saga.

But there's still one thing I think it'd be cool to feature: Jim Craddock had a thieving partner in Richard Swift (otherwise known in the modern day as The Shade). So The Question and Blue Beetle really end up dealing with both of them. And since Blue Beetle and Shade briefly met during that time tne new league and the justice league canada fought, Blue Beetle recognizes this past version of The Shade (which makes for some really interesting twists).

Issue #46: Sam Heartsea ends up being flung back to Ancient Egypt. Once in Egypt, he finds out that Emily and Jean were exiled here too. Now trapped in ancient egypt, they end up stuck dealing with one of Saturn's allies: specifically, the immortal neanderthal known as Vandal Savage. Apparently, he's worked himself into a high position within ancient egyptian society, and it's now up to these three justice league members to take him on.

In fighting Vandal Savage, they manage to inadvertently get the attention of the Doctor Fate of ancient egypt, as well as of Prince Khufu and Chay-Ara (hawkman and hawkgirl's original incarnations). With these two aiding them, our group's numbers are elevated to six. And these six successfully save ancient egypt from falling to Vandal Savage's influence.

Issue #47: Jemm, Son of Saturn ends up being flung back to Ancient Rome, the era where Saturn was once at his strongest. Jemm ends up infiltrating the fringes of ancient roman society, and he discovers that The Red Bee is being prepared as a human sacrifice at a particularly brutal saturnalia. Knowing this festival would give Saturn untold powers (and knowing all too well the devastation saturn can bring), Jemm interrupts the festival and saves the Red Bee.

Although the Red Bee is severely weakened and debilitated from the sacrifice preparations, he still exerts himself trying to fight off the insane saturnalia revelers. But when he pushes himself too far by shrinking and summoning an enormous swarm of bees, jemm takes him and flees. Thankfully, this is around the time that Kronos/Saturn's spell is reversed, and the comic ends with Jemm and The Red Bee returning to the present.

This comic would also feature a decent amount of exposition, as we learn more about the dangers of kronos/saturn and about what some of his goals might be. Because he wants earth to be his again, and he won't stop until he's made that dream a reality.

Issue #48: Due to Sam, Emily and Jean's adventure in ancient egypt, Doctor Fate manages to get a startling memory in the present warning him that kronos/saturn has returned. Hawkman and Hawkgirl get the same message. And The Phantom Stranger was already aware of the grave threat. So those four arrive at Justice League Canada's headquarters and manage to force kronos/saturn to give up the body of chronos and return the Justice League members to the present.

Despite managing to defeat kronos/saturn temporarily, they didn't manage to deal him a crushing blow. He escapes, free to menace society a second time later on. But at least now we have time to prepare for that.

But now that the Justice League Canada is all reunited in one place, the team roster changes again. A lot of members leave with this issue, needing leaves of absence to recover from the traps of kronos/saturn. But on the plus side, Jemm, William, Willow and The Question finally become official members of the team!

Maybe also feature Jemm trying to step into a leadership role on the team. The mystery of Willow is a big one, especially when we get to see her and her son, Sequoiah. Because Sequoiah is the celestial messiah, and he'll be very important to the events of the new crisis.

he  is  momentarily  transported  back  to  their  discussion  about  'the  enemy  of  my  enemy  is  my  friend’  proverb,       a  concept  Spock  had  elaborated  on  with  apt  context.       it’s  amusing  that  they  switched  places.       ❝          HAMMURABI’S  CODE.       you  sure  know  your  Earth  references.          ❞       he  notes,       a  tinge  of  pride  in  his  voice.       internally,       he  vows  to  be  more  forthcoming  with  Spock,       to  no  longer  shroud  his  insecurities  –  those  same  doubts  that  once  led  him  to  a       GRAVE       reality.      

their  journey  is  never  without  challenges,       but  together,       with  their  crew,       he  believes  they  can  overcome  anything.       they’ve  surely  overcome  death.       ❝          we’re  gonna  be  okay.          ❞       he  asserts  with  conviction  lacing  his  words,       providing  a  stark  contrast  to  past  instances  where  such  assurances  felt  more  like  forced  optimism.      

Kirk  sits  up,       casting  a  disdainful  glance  at  his  hospital  gown.       ❝          any  chance  you’d  agree  to  be  my  partner  in  crime  and  sneak  me  out  of  this  hospital  against  Carol  and  Bones’  wishes       ?          ❞       he  half-jokes,       sighing  in  anticipation  of  Spock's  predictable  resistance.       after  a  period  of  contemplative  silence,       he  advances  his  last  knight  on  the  chessboard,       unsure  if  Spock  is  intentionally  letting  him  win  or  if  his  friend's  mind  is  too  preoccupied  to  fully  engage  in  the  game.      

❝          good  game  —  i  don’t  see  a  way  out  of  this  one  for  you.       do  you       ?          ❞

it is such that spock feels almost like he's under the spotlight . an expectation from him to talk about something that , at the time , was almost pure emotion . his reaction to how jim had passed in the warp core was something so PERSONAL that at times he almost forgot the actual implication of it . the captain had died for the crew && thusly the crew had seen the reaction of the first officer . how he had gone after khan , not for the primary need to stop him -- the genetically modified warrior had been stopped in his plans -- but for a personal vendetta . a need to destroy him the way that he had destroyed jim . personal . vengeful . ANGRY .

something spock had WISHED never to feel again . && unlike losing his mother , the pain had been magnified almost a thousand times over . something that he had admitted to both jim && nyota , that he never wanted to feel it again . never wanted to experience it again . he had nowhere to put these emotions that rolled through him except against khan . to hurt him . to kill him .

the half-vulcan is so focused in his thoughts that it is merely when jim says 'murder' causing him to turn slightly . he had not considered the implication . MURDER . it sounds so visceral && unnerving . it is not the vulcan way . it is so ... so human .

spock places the books down on the table . his expression as ever , still && stoic . unreadable really to anyone other than jim . ❝ there was no other choice jim , ❞ the darker haired man says slowly . ❝ i could not , KNOWINGLY , allow the man who had caused your demise to CONTINUE to live . i believe the term is an eye for an eye . ❞

it is so much more than that . of course it is . spock sits his grey cap on the side of the table && takes a seat opposite his captain . eyebrow quirks just slightly as the other notes that they are going to need therapy to get through this troubling && TENTATIVE time . the half-vulcan knows this too . knows that they cannot return now that their lives have been so permanently altered . nyota has been firm with him in this too . that because spock carries half-human dna , && feels emotions so much LARGER , wider && complex that of humans , that ignoring such && pretending that they do not have an impact on him would do no one any favors .

spock has also considered expunging said emotions . removing them completely . but STOPPED at the knowledge that though he could remove that of fear , anger , sadness && depression . he would lose at the same time , joy , laughter , love && the feeling of friendship .

&& however eager spock was to undergo kolinahr , he did not want to remove those feelings .

❝ i believe you are CORRECT , jim . ❞ spock says , a small half-smile against the corner of his lips . he glances at the stack of books that he has brought with him . then back towards jim . he misses the enterprise too . it's like a solid ache that sits in him . he cannot IMAGINE how it affects jim . cannot piece together in his mind how it feels the for the captain .

❝ the enterprise misses you , ❞ && he means as such . not just the ship having a physical space without jim , but the crew , the personnel . his friends . his family - they miss jim . they miss him .

Why Isn’t Every Year the Warmest Year on Record?

This just in: 2022 effectively tied for the fifth warmest year since 1880, when our record starts. Here at NASA, we work with our partners at NOAA to track temperatures across Earth’s entire surface, to keep a global record of how our planet is changing.

Overall, Earth is getting hotter.

The warming comes directly from human activities – specifically, the release of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels. We started burning fossil fuels in earnest during the Industrial Revolution. Activities like driving cars and operating factories continue to release greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, where they trap heat in the atmosphere.

So…if we’re causing Earth to warm, why isn’t every year the hottest year on record?

As 2022 shows, the current global warming isn’t uniform. Every single year isn’t necessarily warmer than every previous year, but it is generally warmer than most of the preceding years. There’s a warming trend.

Earth is a really complex system, with various climate patterns, solar activity, and events like volcanic eruptions that can tip things slightly warmer or cooler.

Climate Patterns

While 2021 and 2022 continued a global trend of warming, they were both a little cooler than 2020, largely because of a natural phenomenon known as La Niña.

La Niña is one third of a climate phenomenon called El Niño Southern Oscillation, also known as ENSO, which can have significant effects around the globe. During La Niña years, ocean temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean cool off slightly. La Niña’s twin, El Niño brings warmer temperatures to the central and eastern Pacific. Neutral years bring ocean temperatures in the region closer to the average.

El Niño and La Niña affect more than ocean temperatures – they can bring changes to rainfall patterns, hurricane frequency, and global average temperature.

We���ve been in a La Niña mode the last three, which has slightly cooled global temperatures. That’s one big reason 2021 and 2022 were cooler than 2020 – which was an El Niño year.

Overall warming is still happening. Current El Niño years are warmer than previous El Niño years, and the same goes for La Niña years. In fact, enough overall warming has occurred that most current La Niña years are warmer than most previous El Niño years. This year was the warmest La Niña year on record.

Solar Activity

Our Sun cycles through periods of more and less activity, on a schedule of about every 11 years. Here on Earth, we might receive slightly less energy — heat — from the Sun during quieter periods and slightly more during active periods.

At NASA, we work with NOAA to track the solar cycle. We kicked off a new one – Solar Cycle 25 – after solar minimum in December 2019. Since then, solar activity has been slightly ramping up.

Because we closely track solar activity, we know that over the past several decades, solar activity hasn't been on the rise, while greenhouse gases have. More importantly, the "fingerprints" we see on the climate, including temperature changes in the upper atmosphere, don't fit the what we'd expect from solar-caused warming. Rather they look like what we expect from increased greenhouse warming, verifying a prediction made decades ago by NASA.

Volcanic Eruptions

Throughout history, volcanoes have driven major shifts in Earth’s climate. Large eruptions can release water vapor — a greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide — which traps additional warmth within our atmosphere.

On the flip side, eruptions that loft lots of ash and soot into the atmosphere can temporarily cool the climate slightly, by reflecting some sunlight back into space.

Like solar activity, we can monitor volcanic eruptions and tease out their effect on variations in our global temperature.

At the End of the Day, It’s Us

Our satellites, airborne missions, and measurements from the ground give us a comprehensive picture of what’s happening on Earth every day. We also have computer models that can skillfully recreate Earth’s climate.

By combining the two, we can see what would happen to global temperature if all the changes were caused by natural forces, like volcanic eruptions or ENSO. By looking at the fingerprints each of these climate drivers leave in our models, it’s perfectly clear: The current global warming we’re experiencing is caused by humans.

So I finally got around and started to play Legend Arceus and it made me very curious about the Submas twins predicament. So instead of just Ingo going missing, it was also Emmet’s S/o as they also got transported with Ingo to the Hisui region. How do you think he would cope with that notion? Would he feel reassured that his brother isn’t entirely alone or would that elevate his stress even further?

○ Emmet is extremely stressed; he lost two of his most important people in one day. Did they run off and elope with one another? If so, then why? The younger twin valued himself an attentive and caring lover. Your needs were met with a big smile and unyielding devotion. He spends the entire first night and following day bawling his eyes out. What did Ingo have that he didn't? They were quite literally identical physically, and, while they had their own various quirks, Emmet would say they were overall similar. Did you crave the domesticity that Ingo so sought after? He could provide that! Why would you both hurt him so mercilessly?

○ It is after giving it proper, unclouded thought he realizes neither of you would actually do such a thing to him. Where had you gone? Were you kidnapped? Emmet hoped your captors were ready for the storm of pure fury that would come knocking at their door. The police do thorough searches multiple times and come up with nothing that would imply such, however. This crushes Emmet's heart once more. That meant you likely both left of your own accord without telling him.

○ The downtrodden Subway Boss wanders around Nimbasa in a fugue like state asking anyone who will listen if they have seen either of you. No one knows anything. He turns to alcohol shamefully, attempting to forget how broken his heart truly is. Pictures of you hurt; pictures of himself hurt, too. Ingo has his face, he can't escape his pain when a mirror mocks him viciously. Elesa cringes whenever she sees the man wander up to the station with disheveled clothing and Ingo's coat on.

○ Her intervention is not appreciated by the horribly depressed Subway Boss. Unless she can conjure up you and his brother, he doesn't even want to think about speaking. Honestly, when he finally snaps and says something smart to her, completely out of his own character, she slaps him. That sudden explosion of pain snapped the daze that had possessed him away temporarily. The gym leader goes off about how he isn't the only one who's hurt by your disappearances. Not once has she doubted you both were whisked away free from your own volition. Ingo wasn't like that, neither were you.

○ He begins to work on himself. The poor fans who resembled you he had one-night stands with desperate for any sense of you, are deep moments of shame within him. Emmet turns your pictures around, alongside Ingo's, and sighs. Wherever fate had taken you, at least you had one another. Surely, the both of you were working to get back to him as much as he was. His cap is put on, and a small smile found itself back to his face. Not as big as his previous, but a decent start. It's a slow process to let it go. There are still many relapses present in his movements to getting better.

○ Seasons change; snow melts, flowers bloom, the sun scorches the earth. Emmet devotes himself fully to his work, but still spends time searching for you two. People go rejected in romantic advances, his smile terrifying paired with his words of devotion. Elesa says he should start seeking a new partner, but the twin remains steady in his will. You're out there in the world with Ingo. One day, he's certain you will both return.

(When you two fall out of the sky directly in front of the Gear Station, he bursts into joyful tears. You're both pulled into a tight hug, but he's forced off by Ingo who is glaring at him. “Dear, I fear there is an imposter attempting to appear as me,” his brother's hand grasps at yours in a romantic, reassuring gesture. You lean into his embrace fearfully. The tears change from elation to mortification.)

Wuko in the comics

Welcome to my first post discussing Wuko in the LoK comic books!

This first post will be discussing Turf Wars- which unfortunately does not feature Wu. But there are lots of excellent Mako moments, and there are some major plot points that carry over into the next comic trilogy.

Turf Wars is the first LoK comic trilogy released after the finale. Though it was released two and half years after the finale aired, it picks up right where we left off. While the creators confirmed after the finale aired that Korrasami was canon, the last moments of the animated series were a little ambiguous (on purpose, since this was a time when queer representation was just not considered "acceptable" in children's media-it was truly the only way they could get away with it). The comics definitively remove all ambiguity. Turf Wars features multiple frames of Korra and Asami kissing, holding hands, and coming out to their friends and family. 

The overarching plot of Turf Wars is a conflict over the land upon which the new spirit portal sets. There is also conflict between rival Triad gangs, the Triple Threats and the Creeping Crystals, over turf in Republic City following the chaos of Kuvira's invasion. These two sets of turf wars overlap when a business tycoon hires the Triple Threats to secure the spirit portal for him by driving others off. The new Leader of the Triple Threats, Tokuga, is attacked by a spirit defending the portal, causing him to gain a dragon-like appearance and a new agenda-seizing control of all Republic City. In the midst of all this there is a refugee crisis, a presidential election, and Korra and Asami trying to navigate their new relationship once they return to the real world with all their responsibilities.

Notable plot points and character developments:

Korra and Asami canon is confirmed (repeatedly)-They come out to family and their friends

Business owner Wonyong Keum, who owns the land upon which the new portal sits, demands everyone vacate so he can turn it into a tourist attraction for profit-prompting Korra to enter the Avatar state to temporarily drive him away.

An unhappy spirit requests Korra closes the portal to prevent exploitation of the spirit world.

Bolin joins Mako as his rookie detective partner.

Zhu Li is running efforts to care for refugees who lost their homes during Kuvira’s attack and teams up with Asami to begin rebuilding homes for everyone displaced.

Tokuga is introduced as the leader of the Triple Threats, fighting for control of the streets with Jargala, the leader of the Creeping Crystals.

Kya reveals she is queer and gives us a history lesson on the context of LGBTQ+ history in the world.

Tokuga is attacked by the afore-mentioned spirit and his right arm and half his face become dragon-esque.

Raiko is a colossal idiot. He is way too focused on getting reelected and making his decisions based on what his campaign advisor suggests, rather than just, you know, governing his city. He calls the military to occupy the portal, prompting the Airbenders to peacefully protest.

Zhu Li runs against Raiko for the presidency. She rallies more protesters to protect the spirit portal while her husband films her for his newest project- a “docu-mover” which he presumably uses to influence the election. 

Asami and Keum are kidnapped by Tokuga and forced to make a poison gas device bring the city under Tokuga’s control.

The Krew manages to save the day of course, thanks to Asami’s wit, Korra’s unstoppable stubbornness, and back-up from Bolin and Mako. Except Mako, bless him, says he’ll “take care of Tokuga”, and then promptly loses him.

Tokuga mysteriously disappears into the spirit world.

Zhu Li wins the presidency.

Korra and Asami share a lovely, romantic moment where they exchange their first “I love you”s at the conclusion of the comic.

Mako scenes

There is no Wu in the Turf Wars comics (Unless you count one line of dialogue where it is mentioned that the Earth Kingdom is sending supplies to help the refugee situation) - however, there is plenty of Mako! Mako’s primary role in this series is as a detective trying to find and stop the Triads from waging their turf war in the city.

Our first scenes with Mako shows him back to being a detective- and his brother is his partner. He doesn’t seem super thrilled to be working with Bolin, but I think it’s just because he knows how his brother is- not that he doesn’t want to spend time with him. They are trying to track down the new leader of the triple threats and control gang activity. Mako’s arm is still in a sling, he’s got his usual brooding grumpy facial expression, and his hair is spiky again! He and Bolin arrest two-toed Ping and try to interrogate him. Two-toed Ping is weirdly proud of Mako and Bolin for rising up from being “nobodies” to a couple of “bigtime cops”.

They catch up with Korra and Asami, and the four of them are alerted by Jinora that the Triple threats are attacking the Airbenders that were meditating at the portal. Asami gets hurt in the battle and she and Korra share a kiss in front of everyone:

Look at Opal’s sweet face. She looks like she’s barely containing her excitement and is maybe squealing a bit, and she’s looking directly at Bolin which I think is a sweet moment to show their relationship. Bolin calls dibs on the first double date.

Mako probably needs time to process the information....

Mako and Bolin do some detective work to try and find Tokuga. There is an interesting scene where they are questioning Scoochy (We saw him in the first season, he’s the kid that told Korra and Mako the Bolin went to do some work for the triple threats before getting captured by equalists) Bolin tells Mako they should do “good cop, bad cop”, with Bolin being the good cop. Mako gets annoyed, and Bolin asks if he’s grumpy because his exes are dating. Mako insists he’s cool with it- though he’s got a distressed look on his face. They catch up to Scoochy and Bolin actually loses his temper and is rather menacing. Mako pulls Bolin back and genuinely connects with Scoochy- relating to his past, pushing him to do the right thing and help others. I really liked this moment because it shows how much character growth he’s had when you compare the way he treated Kai in season 3. (They are ultimately unsuccessful and Scoochy’s tip leads them to a room rigged with explosives- but I don’t think Scoochy knew that, I think he was fed false info).

There’s another touching scene, after Asami is kidnapped, where Mako notices how upset Korra seems as everyone is trying to form a plan to stop Tokuga. He steps aside to check in and see how she’s feeling. He comforts her’ empathizes with her, and reassures her that they are going to find Asami. At this point he seems to have fully processed that they are together and seems to fully accept it and is very supportive. Not easy considering the awkward position he’s in as both their exes. In this scene, Mako also informs Korra that he can’t firebend with his injured arm.

Mako and Bolin helps Korra to find Asami by requesting help from Jargala- in spite of the fact that Chief Beifong told them not to… They show up for Korra and Asami even if it means risking their jobs. They team up and fight the bad guys together, just like the old days.

We see many examples of how bad the damage is from Mako’s injury in the Colossus. He can’t bend with his left arm, it’s in a sling almost the whole comic, and he really doesn’t seem to be at the top of his game. He told Bolin he would take care of catching Tokuga, but apparently couldn’t and lost him. Mako’s injury is pretty bad and it’s probably really frustrating.

At the end, Bolin decides to quit the force (surprise. The guy loves to hop from calling to calling!). He makes a big dramatic speech to Mako, talking about how it’s time they go their separate ways. Mako is like “Um I’m going to see you at home in like two hours”, so it sounds like they are living together.

What all this might mean for Wuko

So now I’m going to try to tie things back into how all this affects the potential of Wuko- whether that’s for headcanons or fics or whatever- and just try to give you an idea of what this comic means for Wuko shippers.

Wu is governing in the Earth Kingdom right now. It is mentioned by Zhu Li that the Earth Kingdom sent supplies, so one can assume Wu has taken his place on the throne and the Earth Kingdom is in a stable enough position to be sending supplies to aid another nation. Nothing is mentioned about efforts to transform the Earth Kingdom into a democratic nation (we’ll get to that in the Ruins of the Empire comics).

Mako’s primary relationships that are explored are with his brother and with Korra. His relationship with Bolin is just as it always is. He loves his brother even if he is a little exhausted by his upbeat, enthusiastic attitude. We build up on his final interaction with Korra from the animated series and continue to firmly establish them as friends and amicable exes. Interestingly, we don’t get any meaningful Mako and Asami interactions. When he is comforting Korra, he relates to her by remembering how worried he was when Korra was kidnapped by Amon. He doesn't try to say “Yeah I’m really worried about Asami too”, which, to me is bizarre because he and Asami are friends too, right? I don’t know if we should read too much into it though- most likely it was just a writing choice that we aren’t meant to psycho-analyze- but it could also mean he is being careful with his words so that Korra doesn’t wonder if he still has feelings for Asami. The love triangle is completely resolved and Mako is out of the picture romantically with either of them and has no lingering romantic feelings. In other words, he is 100% ready available for a relationship with someone else.

The scene where Kya gives us a history lesson establishes how LGBTQ+ people are viewed in the world of LoK. In short, Korra and Asami are fully supported by their friends and family, and even their enemies acknowledge their relationship without any homophobic tones. The closest we get to homophobia is Korra's father, who, after expressing his happiness at their relationship, warns Korra to be cautious going forward because not everyone will be as understanding. Kya gives us a quick lesson on how same-gender relationships are viewed across the nations: The water tribe, being a patriarchal culture, expects discretion. The Earth Kingdom is not particularly accepting-Kya says that Avatar Kyoshi was bisexual but couldn't affect "real change" and that the earth kingdom is the slowest to accept change and is also militarily repressive (full disclosure I have not read the Kyoshi comics, maybe there is additional insight in those?). And in the fire nation, Sozin made same-gender relationships illegal when he took power (I hope Zuko undid all that when he became Firelord). The air nation is the only one that seems truly accepting-Kya paints a picture of total acceptance and says that Aang was supportive when she herself came out. Korra is worried that maybe her father was right, but Asami points out that a lot has changed over the years and everyone seems accepting, especially in Republic City. 

I think what we can take away from this as far as Wuko goes- is that in Republic City, same-gender relationships are not much of an issue, while in the Earth Kingdom it could be viewed negatively. One could make a case that Wu might have cause to be closeted, while Mako might not. (Feel free to reject this history canon and substitute your own. I’d just as soon say that no one in the avatar-verse cares if you aren’t cis or het).

In conclusion. Mako is just a guy trying very hard to be a good, supportive friend to his exes who are now dating each other. He loves them (platonically) he loves his brother, he’s kind and has matured a lot, but he still always has a grumpy look on his face so it’s time for him to move on and get together with Wu.

Well, that’s Turf Wars. I did cram the plot of three comic books into one post, so I certainly did not hit all the details. big post abt a bunch of my twilight-centric aus (i have lots more that arent about twilight hahah) along with her partner in each au bc i dont want to draw and describe the entire cast of each one rn. also the designs here arent “final” or anything, just what comes to mind when i draw them usually. ok

1. basic au

this ones pretty close to canon and its the one i draw/reference most often. there are minor changes to events in the show (ex. chrysalis gets reformed, starswirl becomes a villain, etc) but its basically the same, especially when it comes to the actual characters! not much to say about this one! pinkie and twilight get married sometime before the finale

2. starryverse au

my most cherished au... i could go on forever about this one!! this au is a “reboot” type thing— all the characters have new names, different designs, and altered personalities and roles. twilight twinkle is a pony created by princess solstice out of pure magic (although twilight doesnt know that). i would write many essays about this if i could so ill Not do that right now... twilight twinkle is very eager to make friends but is pretty bad at it. rose quartz pie (aka rosie pie) becomes her first friend and from then on, twilight has a silly puppy love crush on her that eventually becomes mutual love. rosie pie is an energetic and empathetic baker who specializes in baking party treats.

3. swap au

all the mane 6 ponies are different types of ponies now! ta daaaaa! twilight is an earth pony specializing in potion magic, and pinkie is a party planner who has REALLY weak magic when it comes to anything but chaos and parties. fluttershy is a super strong earth pony who is kind of afraid of her own strength—however, it gives her an advantage when dealing with large or dangerous animals. rainbow dash is a unicorn with the dream of becoming the first-ever unicorn wonderbolt, using her special magic that allows her to run on air. rarity is a pegasus who loves making artistic weather patterns, though these arent always very effective at... weather. she also makes beautiful aerodynamic clothing. applejack is also a pegasus, and feels out of place among her earth pony family. (the secret twist is that her mom was a pegasus! wowww!) she makes special apple treats made from the best apples at the top of the trees, which only she can reach.

in this au, all of the mane 6 become alicorns and live together and love each other forever and ever YAY

5. time travel au

in this au, twilight accidentally travelled back in time as a teenager to a time before luna was corrupted by nightmare moon. she didnt know about luna, as she was kept a secret by celestia in the present. she and luna fell in love, and had twilight stayed, luna probably wouldnt have become corrupted, since she wouldve had someone who appreciated and believed in her. however, twilight was eventually transported back to the present, thanks to her family finding a spell to bring her back. after learning ehat eventually happened to luna, twilight began trying to create a spell that would free her from the moon. in this au twilight would temporarily be a “villain”

6. basically just canon

in this universe pretty much nothing from canon is changed besides designs. the only thing changed is that instead of “spreading the word of the storm kings defeat” (lol?? thats what magic is for) tempest becomes twilights personal guard. (seriously, why do all the other princesses get guards?)

7. starlight glimmer fucking dies au

ok kidding she doesnt die she just never gets redeemed... instead the “seventh mane 6 member” is luna! after lunas return, she is sent to live in ponyville (because, like, theres NO way she was ready to just. rule equestria) luna is super powered down, out of fear that she could become corrupted again. some of her power is stored in the moon pendant she wears, in case she needs it in an emergency! luna becomes great friends with all of the main characters... i have ideas on how she’d get along with each one heheh! but her dearest friend is twilight sparkle... they just understand each other in a way nopony else can!

Philosophy 101 Fandom: My Hero Academia Pairing: FuyuPress Summary: FuyuPress Week 2021 Day 2 Prompt Fill: Soulmate - “Soulmates?” he asked with a brow raised. He reached up with his prosthetic hand to rub at his chin thoughtfully. “What a peculiar thing to ask about.” Minor Warning: Implied Hanky-Panky but nothing explicit. When she was just a child, she loved stories about soul mates. Things like true love’s kiss and handsome princes’ come to save the day on horseback became her idealistic view of the world. She clung to those fairy tales and how they could be applied to the real world, asking Mother often is that was what Father was to her. Back then she hadn’t noticed how the smile never reached the gray depths of Mother’s eyes, but she came to understand it as she got older. A prince wouldn’t belittle, berate and beat the princess he so adored. Her parents’ marriage being something born of financial comfort and narcissistic ego rather than loyalty and love had been a heavy blow.

The accompanying realization that there may never have been any love between her parents had been somehow more terrifying.

In high school, her disillusionment with the idea of love and soul mates had been given even more evidence. Between herself and her friends, so many of their “charming royal suitors” turned out to be nothing but façade and hormones. They would be cruel in so many different ways, in ways she still bore the physical and emotional remnants of, and she’d resolved herself to be content on her own. She had her family and her work and her friends – the ones that had been with her through it all – and she determined that she would commit to that being enough for now. She resigned that she would most likely settle for someone Father selected, someone who would be financially secure and – if she was lucky – gentle enough that rearing a family would be tolerable.

And then there was Sako Atsuhiro, more enigma than man.

Their first meeting had been anything but graceful. It had been on a field trip day to a local museum for a more hands-on experience involving pre-Quirk society. Her little problem child, Toshiro-Chan, had been fiddling about with his Quirk as he was prone to. His Quirk was that he could temporarily make any item - even ones that lacked any metal component - magnetic for a short period of time. Thinking that it would be a fun little prank, he’d magnetized one of the plastic line poles used to keep the children from getting too close to the exhibits…

And ended up dragging poor Sako over through the means of his prosthetic arm.

Fuyumi had been absolutely mortified, offering frantic apologies to Sako and stern words to Toshiro-Chan as she tried to help separate his arm from the pole. Sako had been a darling and taken it all in stride, though. He made a few teasing remarks to help alleviate some of her distress and the young tot’s guilt, reassuring that he was in as many pieces as he’d entered the establishment in. He had ended up trailing along with her class after that, the students all fascinated more in his prosthetic arm than the sights they were there for. Once the students were all loaded back up onto the bus and with one final plea from Fuyumi to find some way to make it all up to him, he made a suggestion.

“If you insist, young miss,” he mused, producing a small slip of paper between his fingers from thin air, “treating me to a beverage some time would be a welcome gesture of apology.”

And that first little coffee date had bloomed into something unexpected but new. Fuyumi was used to the polite and suave gentleman act that he seemed to play at, but she found the big difference to be that it wasn’t an act with him. THe more she grew to know him, the more she realized he was very much a “What You See is What You Get” kind of man. He wasn’t afraid to purr softly in her ear of the things he’d relish in doing to her once they were alone and then hold true to those words when they were. He was as polite and respectful and responsible behind closed doors as he was on the street and this concept was absolutely earth-shattering for her. For Todoroki Fuyumi, who presented herself as the sensible and mature daughter most would expect of a Pro Hero, the idea of someone who was so unabashedly themselves in every aspect of their life, it was new and enticing and hypnotic in a way.

Which was probably why her mind wandered back to childhood fantasies, blurting the question out before she could think better of it as they lounged together in his bed one night.

“Soulmates?” he asked with a brow raised. He reached up with his prosthetic hand to rub at his chin thoughtfully. “What a peculiar thing to ask about.”

She shuffled to nuzzle into his pillow a bit more, hiding the lower half of her face and muffling her words a bit. “Is it?” she asked uneasily. A flash of panic coursed through her. Had she crossed some strange line between them? Would such an immature question turn him away from her? “You don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to. It is a kinda weird question. I’m sorry for bringing it up.”

He blinked, brown eyes twinkling as he fixed his gaze back on her, before a small smile tipped up on his lips. “Nonsense, my dear. If you were thinking about it to a point you wanted to mention it, it is clearly important for you to discuss it,” he said, reaching out with his flesh hand to gently stroke along her cheek. She shifted to tilt up into the touch more, relaxing a bit at the soothing familiarity of his touch. “If you are asking as to whether I believe that soulmates are real or not… I don’t believe in something as basic as one singular soulmate for your whole life long.”

She perked up and made a small confused noise. “What do you mean?”

“Well, I feel like every partner - good or bad - has qualities indicative of what a soulmate is meant to be. For elaboration, what is a soulmate as you see it?”

She hummed thoughtfully as she pushed herself to sit up with the help of her elbows more. She steepled her and tapped them against her lips as she tried to sort her thoughts properly. Atsuhiro had moved to gently trail his hand over her shoulder to draw little shapes along the exposed skin of her back instead. “Well, they’re someone who is there for you when you need them and not always in ways you expect. They accept you as you are, and inspire you to be a better person. To work to be the best side of yourself. The side of you that they see you as,” She watched as he nodded along with her words, smile widening a little bit. She shifted to move a smidge closer to him. “And what about you?”

“I would agree with what you’ve said,” he hummed, holding up one finger on his other hand, “and would also state that there are parts or what you said that I learned from past lovers.”

“So you’ve met your soulmate before then?” she asked, cocking her head and knitting her brow.

He chuckled and shifted to lay on his side beside her. “Not quite. Perhaps they are not your soulmate for all of time, but they are in that moment. And I think that there is something to be treasured in that,” he explained, lifting his arm to invite her closer.

She frowned as she shifted to laying on her side as well, hands sliding to rest on his shoulders. “But… Doesn’t that kind of lessen the significance of having a soulmate? If every person you’re with is a soulmate?” It made little sense to her and felt a bit like a cop-out, if she were honest. After all, the idea of her past partners being considered soulmates make her stomach churn uncomfortably. Sure, there had been points where she’d thought it could be possible, but… Well, hindsight was 20-20, right?

“Perhaps, yes, but I do not feel so,” he mused. He settled his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to himself, looking down at her with a fond expression. “If not for those past experiences, I would not be the person that I am proud to be today, the man who is happy to spend his time with you and treat you as you deserve. And I needed all of those past lovers and the times with them - both the good and the bad - to be able to come to certain realizations about myself. To teach me what was important to me in the kind of partner I was as well as the kind of partner I wanted.”

Fuyumi blinked and nodded slowly, letting his words turn over in her mind. It… Did make a certain kind of sense, actually. She was only able to determine the things she wanted in a serious, committed relationship because of what she’d been through with her past partners. If she hadn’t dated them, would she still be as naive as she was at age seven? Believing that her ideal partner would be someone who was perfect and handsome and, realistically, didn’t exist? And that wasn’t even taking into account the little things she’d learned to perceive from a handful of dates. Would she still be able to spot a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Or would she just be a sheep to the slaughter, of sorts?

“Does that help at all, my dear?” he asked, pressing a small kiss to her forehead and snapping her from her internal ramblings.

She flashed a small smile before curling into his chest. “Yes, I think it does, Atsuhiro. Thank you,” she hummed, closing her eyes as he began to gently stroke her hair, fingertips grazing along the shell of her ear.

Perhaps his definition was a bit more romantic than she’d thought.

Summary: Now at 16 weeks in your pregnancy, The avengers have been taking the Uncle and Aunty role with pride, With your nursery being built and painted. But it’s game night and what better way to do that than have the avengers have a sleepover? 

Warnings: Sad!Nat turns into Soft!Nat and couldn’t help but end it in domestic!Avengers. Swearing and Bucky and Steve cheating at Uno. Also talks of parents disowning their child.

A/N: Here’s part 3! I am so deeply sorry it’s taken this long! Enjoy!

Deciding to live in the compound while pregnant has been both a blessing and a curse. Unfortunately with your parents having disowned you when you came out as Y/S/P, you didn’t have very many people to tell, besides a few friends and cousins, To which they were ecstatic. 

The positives are that Nat doesn’t miss a thing as her and the team have decided to only go on missions unless necessary. So now they can be there for milestones or help if you ever need it. Even Carol has decided to stay until her niece or nephew is born. You and Natasha have both been reading pregnancy and baby books and even Tony had the two of you sleep in a spare room temporarily as him and the team combine your room with the vacant one next door for the baby’s nursery which is now ready to decorate. In about 3 weeks you’ll be having your gender reveal, as you and Nat had agreed you were far too excited to wait to see if your baby was a boy or a girl. Despite it being your first pregnancy, Your 16 week baby bump was very much noticeable, and now  you didn’t look like you ate too much the night before, like you did when your bump was first starting to grow.

You’ve been keeping as active as you could, doing mild workouts during the day to keep as fit as you can. You’ve noticed your skin has become a bit more clearer, as the ‘pregnancy glow’ makes it’s mark.  Sometimes you’ll have random blood noses, which is normal as Dr Cho had to convince Nat a hundred times, but it didn’t make them any less annoying. Warm baths and back massages had become your best friend as your bump starts to grow, If your back pain is bad now you dread the pain that is to come. You’ll even become dizzy at random points during the day, and it’s handy having the avengers around to easily catch you if you start to sway. 

You’ve started wearing maternity clothes, to which Nat loves. Your choice in bras have become different thanks to your ever growing breasts, and she loves finding new ways to take them off as fast as she can. The only thing she loves to pout about is the fact you’ve started sleeping on your left side, as now it’s rare she gets to see your face as you both lay in bed together. That doesn’t stop her from rubbing and talking to the baby every night though. 

Finishing up in the gym for the day, you wipe your forehead to rid the sweat and take a swig from your drink bottle, taking a breather before you say goodbye to Steve and Bucky who are both training together. Making your way to Your’s and Nat’s bedroom, you pass Wanda and Carol in the hallway, who asks you how you were feeling and if you needed anything, much to your gratitude.

As you enter your room you immediately notice somethings wrong. You hear a sniffle before a soft cry, and you notice it’s coming from the nursery. A frown settles on your face as you walk in and you can’t help the feeling of your heartbreaking a little. There Nat sit’s in the middle of the empty room crying, staring up at the half finished Winnie the pooh themed wall mural Steve has started, making sure to leave a spot blank to paint the baby’s name when you and Nat have decided on one. 

“Babe? What’s the matter?” You ask, slowly coming up behind her, placing your hands on her shoulders, softly peering at her face. Her puffy eyes look up at you and she gives you a small sad smile. “I thought I was the one that was supposed to be emotional.” 

“I’m sorry, I just came in here to see the mural but then I couldn’t help but think how surreal all of this is. I mean I never would have thought 2 years ago that you’d be my girlfriend much less pregnant with our first child. I mean all my life I thought I’d never have kids much less a partner. I used to have nothing, and now I’ve got this job... and this, family that couldn’t love us any more.” 

“It does seem a bit crazy doesn’t it.” You say softly, lightly massaging her shoulders as she lets a few more tears fall. You know the best thing right now is to just comfort her and let her have her moment. 

“I am so incredibly lucky to have the team, and you, and especially our baby. Everything I’ve ever wanted right here and I don’t know how or why I deserve it.” 

“To be quite honest with you my love I think we’re the lucky ones. To have someone so loving and forgiving like you is definitely rare. Beans going to have the most protective and playful mama, and I think I can speak for the team when I say there’s no one that could ever replace you. You deserve all of this, The team, the family and most importantly me and our baby.” You tell her honestly, placing her hand on your bump. 

“You think so?” She asks with so much uncertainness. 

“I know so.” You smile, to which she returns. 

“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Nat replies, the soft smile on her face as she looks up at you. 

“Yeah, multiple times.” You smile. “Now come on, we’re gonna go have a shower and go see the team, It’s game night.” 

“Yes Ma’am.”

“This game is bullshit!” Sam screams, slamming his uno cards on the table before standing up and kicking his chair. “He’s cheating!! There is no way he can win game 5 times in a row!! He just picked up 4 cards!” 

“Stop being a sore loser.” A smug Bucky says, taking joy in his friends rage. 

“Stand up and clean out your pockets.” You demand, also annoyed at your friend. Bucky does as you say with a smug smile on his face, pulling his pockets from his shorts and jumper, proving he didn’t cheat. When he sit’s down however, you catch something in the corner of your eye and you shake your head with scoff when Steve subtly high fives Bucky under the table. Nat must have seen it to, because she too shakes her head and speaks up. 

“Steven, my lovely captain.” Natasha says albeit too sweetly. 

“Yes Nat?” He replies, probably too quickly to come off as nonchalant.

“Would you like to stand up and empty your pockets too?” I finish instead, smiling at the blonde who looks at Bucky then stands and does the same, which ends in him pulling out roughly 10 cards from his sweatpants pocket. 

“Are those Bucky’s Cards?” Wanda asks, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. 

“...no?” Steve replies. “They’re mine?” 

“Steve is that or is it not Bucky’s cards?” Carol asks this time, her face stern, which you know is making Steve slightly panic. You see Bucky staring at Steve, almost daring him to lag on him. 

“Okay fine. Buck and I made a deal that I would help him win because he always loses and he’s sick of Sam and Y/N always winning.” Steve confesses ashamedly, Bucky’s eyes widening in betrayal. 

“I KNEW IT!!” Sam yells. Nat just stares dumbfounded, meanwhile Tony, Rhodey and Bruce just watch things unfold shaking their head in disappointment, Wanda and Carol stand up and start packing up the Uno cards as they both know no one will want to play after this. You, however, stare at Bucky with betrayal and hurt. 

“You always say you want me to win! This is discrimination against pregnant women.” You joke, to which Nat laughs behind you. 

“I think he wanted you to win so the baby will be named after him.” Rhodey inputs. 

“Definitely won’t be now.” You say to which Bucky frowns. “Sorry pal lost your chance.” 

“What-” 

“Yeah because we all know the baby’s gonna be named after me.” Tony interrupts Bucky, pouring himself a drink at the bar. 

“Jokes on all of you, we’re not naming the baby after any of you.” Nat replies, smiling matter-of-factly after nearly everyone looks at her offended.  “You all suck.” 

“Besides me.” Carol says, sticking her hand up. 

“No definitely you.” Is Rhodey’s reply, causing Carol to throw the uno cards at him. Everyone begins to move into the common room, deciding to chill before someone picks a movie. 

“Speaking of the baby, what’s the update?” Steve walks in, handing Wanda the chip bowl, who thanks him quietly. 

“Well, Bean should be starting to hear sounds now hopefully, muscles are getting stronger and should be having coordinated arm and leg movement.” You explain, the team listening attentively. 

“And Bean is now the size of an apple!” Natasha quickly adds. 

“Seriously can’t wait to be an uncle.” Tony says, scratching his greying goatee. “How are you wanting to do the gender reveal?” 

“Well so far it’s just gonna be all of us, Pete, Clint and his family, Fury, Sharon and Maria. Thor too if he’s back in time from Asgard. We’ll get Dr. Cho to put the respective colour in a big balloon and we’ll have like mini games and just have a fun time with all of us.” Nat explains. The team nods, and you can see Tony’s gears in his head rolling, probably just promoted himself the event planner. 

“There is to be no one invited without our permission.” You direct to Tony, who just nods. 

Just an hour later you and the team have all set up mattresses and blankets all over the common room, deciding to have a sleepover all together. Bruce and Rhodey as an exception as they believe they’re “too old” to have sleepovers. You and Nat set up on the end of all the mattresses, in case need to go toilet during the night. You’re surprised everyone agreed to do it, considering they’re the earths mightiest heroes.

As the end credits of the fourth movie rolls around, you look around to see everyone but you and Nat have fallen asleep. You move back down and start to wiggle around to find a comfortable spot, but end up failing miserably. 

“You okay babe?” Nat asks, lightly rubbing your back after you groan for the third time. 

“Just can’t seem to get comfortable.” You mumble back, trying to fall asleep. 

“Would you like me to go get your new pregnancy pillow?” She asks laying her head on your shoulder, to which you nod softly. Nat gives you a kiss on the cheek before she stands and steps over you to go get your pillow from your shared room. When she comes back a few minutes later, she helps you position yourself and when you finally find a comfortable spot, you can’t help but sigh in relief. 

“Thank you my love.” You mumble, already drifting off.

FAMILY HISTORY : Michelle is the fourth generation of her family to be born and raised on the Ark. About a decade prior the Nuclear Apocalypse, an ancestor of hers moved from China to the US, in her 20s. She married an Hawaiian-born man who was a little older than her, from the US Navy. Their names were Mei Chen and John R. Kealoha and together had a daughter they named Aolani in the early 2050s Her name was a traditional Hawaiian name meaning “Heavenly cloud”, given to commemorate the new world on the Ark, above the clouds. She was the first generation to be born and raised on the Ark. Aolani admired her father very much for his military background on earth and joined the Ark Guard as a late teen, in a way to follow his footsteps. She thus worked her way up from cadet and reached the rank of commander while in her early or mid thirties. At that time, she met a man from the same nation, a certain Michael Cartwig, an American man of British descent. In the early 2080s, they had a son they named Jonathan. A name similar to that of her own father to honor him. Jonathan Cartwig later on had a daughter, Callie Cartwig, in early 2100s, who had herself a daughter, Michelle, a similar name to her grandfather’s. Unfortunately, her grandparents and great-grandparents all died prior to her birth in September 2131 from unknown causes.

EARLY LIFE : Michelle was born on the Ark to Callie Cartwig who was an officer in the Ark, of chinese, Hawaiian and British descent. Her mother was very loving and present for her, providing her daughter with a happy and innocent childhood. Callie raised her daughter in a positive way for her to become a good and strong person able to survive in this new world they had built up in space. Michelle held her mother’s kindness and bravery in high regards and looked up to her, wanting to be like her growing up. But, there was a fly in the ointment and it was that she never knew her father and for whatever reason her mother was very firm not to talk about it so it sometimes led to rather heated arguments between the two. And because of it, as a teenager, Michelle became more secretive, setting a certain distance between the two of them. She thought that because her mother kept things from her, she was going to do the same and their close relationship started to crack, hurting her mother a lot in the process. When Clarke told her and Wells about the Ark’s fate, she kept it from her mother and when charges were pressed against Jake Griffin, Clarke was arresed as well and Michelle lost it upon seeing her childhood best friend being taken away. She assaulted a guard and got herself convicted and imprisoned as she was younger than 18. Callie, whose relationship with her daughter was already declining, she was devastated. The officer went to Marcus Kane after her daughter’s arrest to ask for his help but he told her he couldn’t do anything and that no one is above the laws. She was even more crushed by the fact that she was forbidden by the council to ever visit her child because they thought she might try to get her out. It was obviously a recommendation from Kane, which Michelle will held him accountable for.

PERSONALITY : Michelle is similar to Clarke when it comes to her personality. They could be seen as the definition of the expression “birds of a feather flock together”, quite literally. Michelle was loyal and ready to do whatever it takes to help her friends. Despite what happens with her mom or more generally on the Ark, Callie did a great job raising her. She became in her image, brave, kind and trustworthy. But, Michelle can be a little quick-tempered and sarcastic sometimes, when her emotions take over her logic but she was taught strategical thinking by her mom and is very smart. If she is hurt or wronged, or close friends of hers are, she won’t think twice about going after the people that attacked them. For example, when Clarke was arrested and taken away by guards, she assaulted a couple of them vigurously and went as far as hurting herself by hitting them, so bad that she had bloody knuckles and had to be taken care of before being incarcerated. She also spat out at Councilman Kane’s face because it was him who was after the charges that had been pressed against the teenager. 

Like Clarke, she calls people out on their behavior, usually, but when the heart is involved, she is reluctant to do so even if she knows the person(s) in question are in the wrong. This is yet another exemple of how her emotions can get in the way, but she isn’t blind and if these people have to be punished and it isn’t for no reason, she won’t stop it, no matter how bad it hurts her to let it happen. When she was told that her mother had died on the Ark by Abby Griffin and Kane when they landed on the ground, she was in shock, so much that she just froze and burst into tears, becoming as vulnerable as one can be. The death of her mother, without ever having been able to say goodbye will haunt her and lead to her suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder resulting in her shutting down sometimes, especially when she feels overwhelmed by what is happening at the moment.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE : Michelle is a young woman of Chinese, Hawaïan and British descent, according to what her mom told her. She has a rather tanned olive complexion with an oval face, dark brown almond-shaped eyes so dark they sometimes seem to be pitch black, and thick black straight hair. She stands at 5'5" (167cm), a few inches taller with her boots on reaching 5′6″-5′7″ (172 cm), and has an hourglass body shape, with a slim figure.

She styles her hair in a ponytail or a braid that goes down her back and strands of hair framing her face. She looks a lot like her mother but, her nose is a bit straighter and shorter than hers and her lips were slimmer but she figured it was features she inherited from whoever was her father. Michelle always wears a light, green khaki field deck jacket, which belonged to her great-great-grandfather who was in the US Navy and this jacket was passed down in her family, making it a unique hundred-year-old piece of clothing, a black tank top or plain T-shirt underneath, dark jeans and knee high lace up buckle military combat boots. She makes her whole style about her military heritage because she is very proud of it.
