3 - Hunting Party
Tumblr media
Part 4
Star Crossed Enemies
Three knocks were heard on the outside of my apartment door that was shut. Getting up from my bed I crossed the room barely opening the door seeing my father Jake standing in the hallway. “Dad! Hurry, get inside. Did anyone see you? Mom?”
“Nobody saw me, sweetheart. Your mother is still at work. But I do hope you have thought about my offer to let Marcus Kane pose as your father.” He stepped inside, wrapping me in a hug and I pressed my face against the fabric of his shirt.
Lifting my head up slightly I had to ask knowing the kind of man he called his friend. “You mean the man that enforces harsher than the current Chancellor does. I’m not sure that’s such a good idea.”
“Please just consider it, Cassie. I want someone else looking out for you when I can’t.” My father declares with some tears welling up in his eyes.
Lowering my gaze to the floor I wouldn’t realize what his words meant until after he was gone. Sighing heavily I nodded agreeing with his plan. “Okay, dad. I’ll talk with Kane but change my last name to Rhodes.”
Suddenly the door opened and closed quickly showing my mother Abby standing in front of it as she shut it by pressing her back against it. “Mom!”
“Abby! How did you know I was here?” Dad questioned her under his breath.
She stomped up pushing the two of us apart from one another glaring sparingly at each one of us individually. “The whole reason that I told you to get your own place at sixteen was to make sure that the three of us weren’t seen together too much to draw suspicion. And you can’t even follow that simple order.”
“Abby, don’t be hard on her. I came to see her. She didn’t know I was coming today so be angry at me.” My father attempted to calm down his wife but it was no use.
She snapped back at her husband. “She clearly doesn’t understand how serious this is for us. For me, you and Clarke.”
Pure hurt came over me at her words not hearing even utter my name once. I shoved her away from me where she stumbled into my father’s chest completely taken back by my actions. “So that’s how it is huh, mom. You’ve just cut me out of the family completely!”
“Sweetheart, you know I meant you to-“ She started to say but I slapped her hand away that tried to touch me.
“No you knew what you said the minute the words came out of your lying mouth!” Pushing past them I fling the door opened pointing with my index finger for them to leave. “You know just leave me alone. Just get out of my face right now!”
“Cassiopeia.” She spoke simply.
“Get out!” I screamed through heavy tears falling down my face. My mother scrambled out quickly but my father lingered sending me a silent apologetic look before leaving, allowing me the opportunity to shut the door and just sobbed on the cold floor.
“Wake up, grounder girl.” I felt someone kicking me with their boot in the middle of my back waking me from the sleep I had managed to accomplish on the harsh cold floor of their dropship.
Rolling over onto my back I groaned, spreading my hands over my face. “Uhhh…what do you want?”
“Get up. I’m taking you hunting with me.” Bellamy declared resting one hand on his hip that had a metal ax attached to his belt loops.
Peeking through my fingers I glared up at the older man standing over me. “Hunting hmm. Are you needing pointers on how to kill animals since you lived in space all your life.” I teased him by turning over to lay on my side and attempt to fall back to sleep.
The sky boy stepped around my legs and lowered himself down in a squatting position giving him the ability to grab my chin forcing me to look him in the eye. “It wasn’t a question. You’re my prisoner, not a guest.”
“Fine. But I get to have my weapons pack back. I refuse to leave this camp without having my own form of protection.”
Bellamy didn’t say anything for a minute before giving me a simple head nod. “If you try to kill me I will fight you.”
“You kill me.” I laughed at how cocky and confident he seemed. “That’s adorable.”
He stared down at me for a few minutes before he nudged me with the tip of his boot a second time, walking over to the ladder and climbing down. Sitting upright I ran my fingers through my hair undoing the one braid that I had in my hair allowing it all to be loose. Climbing down the ladder I didn’t fall even with having my hands handcuffed. “So if you want me to go hunting with you you’re gonna have to take these off first.” Holding up my handcuffed wrists I stood on the edge of the dropship ramp.
All around me everyone was working on some portion of their camp. They had constructed a wall around the whole dropship and a meat house. Plus many tents so they didn’t all have to sleep in the metal box. The only thing I could see they were missing was proper weapons.
Bellamy takes one long stride forward snagging my right wrist in his grasp cutting the ties with a small knife he had on his belt. “When we get back here these are going back on.”
“Do you really assume I’m so dangerous? I could be the weakest fighter you’ve ever seen.”
He raised his brows knowing I was being very sarcastic. “Nice try, Cassio. You took out three of my guys with a dart gun and held a knife to my throat.”
“So you did learn something from that day. Good I was beginning to worry I didn't scare you well enough.” I glared up at him, shifting my gaze to his deep chocolate eyes focused on me. We remained standing for about ten minutes until someone came over to us.
“Bellamy! Are we going to go kill something or not?” A guy with dark brown hair carrying a metal knife walked up. “What is she doing outside the dropship?”
Bellamy quickly separated himself from me. He handed me my weapon pack before turning his attention to the guy. “We're taking her with us, Murphy.”
“Why don't we just kill the grounder girl. We already have one chained up in the dropship and how are we supposed to know that she won't try and kill us the second we step outside of camp.” Murphy questions his leader.
The older man nodded his head to his right hand man, snagging my wrist leading me outside the camp walls with Murphy and a few other guys following behind us. “We're not going to kill her. And don't worry about her. I'll keep an eye on her.”
Our group trekked through the woods in silence looking for any animals that we could kill for dinner tonight. I wasn’t that familiar with this area. Living in Polis meant that we had hunting parties go out and return with food. I typically only tagged along with them in that specific area. Walking up the side of the hill I paused bending down on my knees I saw a deer standing a few feet in front of me eating some grass. Turning my head slightly around I saw Bellamy walking past me with an ax raised in his right hand till I jumped up snagging his wrist before he could swing it. “Hang on. You can’t do that.”
“I know how to kill something, grounder girl.” Bellamy grunted trying to fight against my type grip that my fingernails had on his wrist.
Murphy pointed his index finger at me in frustration. “I told you we shouldn’t have brought her with us!”
“I can handle her, Murphy.” The older leader intensely stared down at me. “Let go of me. You’re gonna scare off our dinner.”
Digging my fingernails deeper into his wrists that I was holding I pressed my nose against his. He needed to understand that I was trying to help him, even if he didn’t understand it yet. I certainly could just let him miss the deer and simply laugh in his face afterwards. “Shut up and listen to me, Blake. The way you’re currently holding that ax wouldn’t kill the deer. So if you want to bring food back to camp you better start listening to me!”
“You’re lying.” He shakes his head still not believing me.
With my freehand I snatched the weapon from his hand, stomping quickly around him before he could grab me and stop me from what I was about to do. Raising the ax above my hand with both my hands wrapped, the handle as I took a deep breath releasing it only after I launched the weapon forward. The ax went flying into the lower stomach of the deer before it slowly fell down dead on the forest floor. Proudly spinning around on my boots I smirked with my hands clasped behind my back. “Next time you refuse my help keep in mind I won’t be helping you.”
“I’ll be damned.” Bellamy cursed under his breath before the sky began slowly turning a dark yellow meaning the acid fog was coming from the mountain.
“Bellamy.” I shouted back at him.
He finally noticed the sky breaking in a sprint forward grabbing the back of my jacket and the others broke off into another direction for shelter. “There are caves this way!”

It's For Your Own Good
Bellamy walks into his mother’s office, and he immediately freezes. Octavia is laying on the bed, not moving. He doesn’t even remember the last time that she didn’t run to hug him, or jump onto him when he came back home from school.
“Is she ok?” Bellamy whispers, sounding frantic.
“Not really. She was playing with scissors earlier, and she cut herself. I gave her some stitches, but I’m afraid it’s going to get infected if she doesn’t have it treated properly. I don’t know how to treat it any better than I already have,” Aurora says, grabbing Bellamy’s arm tightly.
“It’s ok, Mom. It’ll be fine. We’ll try to keep it really clean, and if anything happens, I’ll figure something out.”
She lets out a heavy breath, her grip loosening just a bit.
“I promise it’ll be ok.”
Aurora nods, taking a few more deep breaths.
“You’re right. I shouldn’t be freaking out so much. It’ll be fine.”
Bellamy nods, then walks over to Octavia. He puts a hand on her arm.
“Hey, O. How’re you feeling?” he asks, keeping his voice low.
“I’m fine. My hand just hurts.”
“Can I see?”
Octavia nods, and holds out her hand. It’s wrapped in cloth, which Bellamy quickly unravels. He grabs the first aid kit out from under the bed, wincing at the jagged stitches.
That’s definitely going to scar.
He braces her, then cleans the wound before wrapping it tightly in fresh white bandages.
“Am I going to be ok?”
“Of course you are, darling. You know that I wouldn’t let anything happen to you. I love you too much for that.”
He kisses her on the top of the head before pulling her up. He climbs behind her, and lets her rest against him. She falls asleep quickly after that. He stays right where he is for the rest of the night, his cheek pressed against Octavia’s hair. However, no matter how hard he tries to keep the wound clean while he’s there, Octavia starts to develop the symptoms of an infection within three days.
“What are we going to do?” Aurora asks, sounding near tears.
Bellamy pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Where are the scissors that she cut herself on?”
“They’re in the top right hand drawer. The really large ones. Why are you asking though?”
“She’s asleep, right?” Bellamy asks, walking over to the desk.
“Yeah.”
“That was me asking you to make sure.”
Aurora walks over, and checks on Octavia, who is still sleeping fitfully.
“Yeah, she’s still asleep.”
“Ok.”
Bellamy pulls the scissors out of the drawer, then presses the tip gently against his own hand. He takes a steadying breath before pushing down, and dragging the scissors across his palm, and down in arm in almost the exact same spot as Octavia’s. Aurora watches, looking slightly horrified. Bellamy walks over to the open first aid kit. He roughly stitches his own arm, biting down on his lip hard enough for blood to well up there too. Neither of them say anything for a while, then Bellamy cleans the blood off of everything.
“Ok, well, at least we didn’t wake up O.”
“Bellamy,” Aurora whispers.
“It’ll be fine. I’ll go down to medical, and get some antibiotics for Octavia tonight. It’ll be fine.”
Bellamy stays exactly where he’s sitting, his good hand in Octavia’s hair until nine that night. The later it is, the less people are going to be in medical, and the more likely it is that no one is going to ask any questions. As long as the antibiotics work, then he shouldn’t have to go back, and worry about someone questioning how he got cut. It’s actually a pretty simple process. The man who examines his hand is young too.
“Just come straight here next time. These stitches aren’t great, but none of the ones that you do on yourself probably will be. It’ll be better for you to just come straight here, and let a professional deal with that.”
Bellamy nods, and just agrees with everything he says. It’s late by the time he gets back to his mom’s office. He offers her the bottle, then drops into a chair. He falls asleep quickly, exhausted from his long day. Once properly medicated, Octavia does get better. She’s back to bouncing around within a week.
However, Bellamy is starting to feel sick by then, and his arm is taking a lot longer to heal than it should. Aurora has started giving Bellamy worried looks, but Octavia hasn’t even noticed yet. It’s eight days after he cut himself that Bellamy’s walking to class. He’s feeling a little lightheaded, but pushes past it in hopes that it’s nothing. It’s not nothing because he barely makes it into class before he passes out.
Abby walks into their apartment, her shoulders low, and tears streaking her face. Jake is next to her in a second. Luckily, it’s just the two of them in the apartment since Clarke is off with Wells.
“What’s wrong, honey?” Jake asks softly.
“It’s one of my patients.”
“Oh, did someone die?”
“No, but he’s fighting an infection and pneumonia.”
She falls quiet aside from her sobs. Jake continues to rub her back as he pulls her to the couch.
“Do they not think he’s going to make it?” Jake asks, honestly confused on why she’s so upset. He’s never seen her respond this emotionally regarding a patient. Normally she can detach herself at least to some extent.
“I’m not sure. It’s not looking good right now. We just had to put in a chest tube to keep the fluid off of his lungs. It’s just that… he’s only fourteen. He’s only a few years older than Clarke, and-” She sobs for another minute before continuing. “The wound placement, I’m pretty sure he did it to himself. He cut himself, got an infection, and is dying in a hospital bed alone. His mother only came to see him once, and it was at night.”
Self harm, and in someone so young.
Jake feels tears spring into his own eyes.
“What are you going to do?”
“I don’t know. I feel like I can’t leave him. What if he dies alone? No one deserves to die alone, and I know life isn’t fair, but he’s a child. He’s so young, and he should have to be scared and alone. Especially if he felt desperate enough to try to take his own life. I just don’t know what to do. Even if he does get better, I’m going to have to fight to get him seen by a psych team since it’s not a normal self harm wound. I’m sure that he did it to himself though. I’m completely certain of that much.”
She sniffles, desperately wrapping her arms around Jake like he can magically make her feel better.
“Well, how about we leave Clarke with Jaha and Wells tonight, and we can stay with him together? Or I can stay down there with him if you need some time for yourself. That way he won’t be alone, but the burden doesn’t fall solely on your shoulders.”
“I want to go with you. It’s not a burden, he’s not a burden.”
Jake hugs her closer, his heart hurting for his wife, and the child that he doesn’t know and hasn’t met.
“What’s his name?”
“Bellamy Blake. His mother is Aurora Blake. She’s always been known to be a recluse. I asked parents with kids his age, and she’s never been to any of the school events, or taken him to any of his extra stuff. Apparently he’s going to join the guard when he’s older.”
The “if” he gets there stays hanging in the air untouched. They stay there in silence for a few minutes before Jake gets up. He covers Abby with a blanket before wiping his eyes. He walks to the Jaha residence. He lets himself in with his key, and peeks into the kitchen. Jaha is sitting in there while the kids are in the living room.
“Hey.”
Jaha looks up.
“Jake, come in. What’s going on? I thought you weren’t picking Clarke up for another half hour.”
“Actually, can she stay with you two tonight? Abby has a young patient that might not make it, and he’s been alone. She wants to stay with him tonight.”
“Of course. What’s going on with that?”
“I’m not entirely sure. Apparently his mom is always absent. It’s not something that you need to worry about though. We’ve got it covered on that front. I really appreciate you letting Clarke stay here tonight. I’m going to tell her now.”
Jaha nods.
“Of course, anytime.”
Jake walks over to Wells and Clarke, who are discussing their homework.
“Hey, pumpkin.”
“Dad, you’re early.”
“Actually, I came to tell you that something came up for your mom and me. You’re going to be spending the night here.”
“Are you both ok?”
Jake nods.
“Yeah, we’re both fine. I have a pair of your school clothes here for you to change into in the morning. You were dressed casually enough that I didn’t think you’d need anything else.”
“I’m good, thanks. Goodnight, Dad. I love you.”
“I love you too, sweetheart.”
“Can you tell Mom the same thing?”
Jake nods, then kisses Clarke on the top of the head. He walks back over to Jaha at that point, thanks him one more time, then heads back to his own apartment. It’s less than thirty minutes later when they walk into the infirmary together. Jake lays eyes on Bellamy, and his chest constricts. He’s underweight, his face sunken, a chest tube through his side. He looks near dead especially with his complexion being as pale and waxy as it is.
He’s so small. Could that have happened in just a few days?
Abby sits down beside Bellamy’s bed. She takes his small hand in hers, stroking the back of his hand. His other hand is heavily bandaged, the white bandages dwarfing his delicate fingers. Jake sits beside Abby, just watching the boy’s face. He stirs a few times, but ultimately stays quiet. That night is one of the longest of Jake’s life. Abby eventually falls asleep, tears in her eyes, still holding Bellamy’s hand.
Jake doesn’t sleep a wink. His eyes keep shifting between his wonderful, empathic wife, and the child in front of him. Everything about this situation makes him want to scream, especially as a parent. He can’t imagine something happening to Clarke, and not being there for her. They go back to their apartment in the morning, and fall asleep in each other’s arms.
It takes a couple more days, but Bellamy does start to improve. Jake and Abby are both there when he wakes up. Jake catches his gaze almost immediately. He has dark brown eyes that are clouded over with confusion. Abby doesn’t notice immediately, but Jake takes a step towards him, resting a hand lightly on Bellamy’s leg underneath the blankets.
“Where-” Bellamy rasps, looking around.
“You’re in the infirmary.”
“Who are you?”
Abby turns around.
“Jake, can you step out? I’m going to do a quick examination. Can you go get-” she trails off, looking him dead in the eyes.
Jake nods, and walks out. He goes to inform the psych team that agreed to meet with Bellamy that he woke up. They say they’ll be down there in a few hours at the very least, so Jake heads back to wait outside. He doesn’t end up having to wait long since Abby was almost done when he got there. A nurse motions him back in.
“I didn’t do anything,” Bellamy says, his eyes wide and scared.
“Look, Bellamy, it’s ok. You can tell me what happened. Did someone else cut your arm, or did you?” Abby asks, still standing close to Bellamy.
“It was an accident. I did, but I just slipped while cutting something. I was using way more force than I should have been.”
“How did you develop an infection then?”
“I was being stupid. I wasn’t taking care of it like I was supposed to.”
“Look, there are too many inconsistencies in your story. We’re going to have to put you on psych watch.”
“I didn’t mean to though.”
“It’s for your own good. If you didn’t do anything on purpose, then the professionals will clear you. You can go back to life and recovery like normal.”
Bellamy looks anxious and unsure. Jake walks over.
“Hi, Bellamy, I’m Jake. It’s ok, you don’t have to be scared. Even if you are hiding something, we can help you. You’re going to be ok.”
Bellamy shakes his head.
“I don’t want anything to do with you. I don’t know you, and you don’t know me.”
“I know, I’m just trying to tell you that we can help if something is going on.”
“There’s nothing for you to help with. What are you not getting? It can’t be that hard to understand. It wasn’t on purpose, and no one hurt me. It was just a stupid accident. I was being careless, and now I’m having to pay for it here.”
Jake nods, taking a step back. Bellamy does end up getting checked out by the psych team. They all got the impression that he was hiding something, but nothing detrimental to his health, so they let it go. Jake doesn’t see him again after that, and if Abby does, she never mentions it. Eventually they have to learn how to let go of the situation, and just hope that he’s alright.

The 100 rewatch 2023 S1 E3
Episode “Earth Kills”
A word in advance: I always loved and appreciated the way they were playing around with the episode titles back then. Sadly it completely got lost in the translation into german. There the 2nd and 3rd (”Earth Skills” and “Earth Kills”) episodes titles are: “Wir sind nicht allein” which basically means “We’re not alone” and “Wozu man Freunde hat” which can be translated to “What friends are for”... See? The initial meaning got totally lost here. It’s frustrating. Therefore i’m only watching in english language. (The german voice actors aren’t the best either... so... it wasn’t a hard choice for me in the first place...) This just as a little info before i begin. ;) Now here i go, my Earth Kills-live rewatch is about to start!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Previously on The 1OO...” Oh Bob’s voice! NICEEE!
Awww... Flashback to happier days on the ark. The Wells- and Griffin-families are watching an old football match together. Also: MEET PAPA-GRIFFIN! Maybe it’s bc i’m getting older but... he’s quite the DILF isn’t he?! Haha... sorry... hormones..
Earth, now: Jasper is in so much pain. He’s screaming... Meanwhile little Charlotte is screaming too. She’s got nightmares. But there’s MOMMA BEAR CLARKE immediately tending to her. “Maybe being on the ground is our 2nd chance” Clarke’s trying not just to cheer up Charlotte but also herself...
Two kids of the 100 out alone in the woods for a little rendezvous. Oh! There’s the acid fog already! I forgot it came so early in the series. Poor kiddos... They just wanted to have some fun...
Asdfghjkl BELLAMY! Bellamy and his hatchet. Training and aiming at a tree. Hit me baby one more time... seriously... Bellamy and Murphy are unnerved by Jasper’s screams echoing through the camp. Atom thinks the screams are frightening the kids. Oh look! Murphy isn’t half as good as Bellamy aiming at that tree... lol nice try... Bell and the others want to go hunting.
Meanwhile in the dropship: Clarke’s worried. She tries to fix Jasper’s wound but it’s really a task of its own. Wells and Finn are helping.
O and Atom. She wants to sneak out of camp with him - but he doesn’t even reply. Oh... she has a certain suspicion now... She’s FUMING when she enters Bellamy’s tent, he’s preparing himself for the hunt. “You can’t keep everyone away from me!” He must’ve threatened Atom. She’s so done with this brotherly overprotectiveness..
Jasper’s screams cutting through their dispute and they’re both off to the dropship. There, Bell’s pessimistic: “That kid’s (Jasper) is a goner.” Clarke’s IMMEDIATELY in his face tho “DOWN HERE EVERY LIFE MATTERS!” - Bell wants to kill Jasper when he’s not getting any better within the day. “You don’t have the guts to make the hard choices. I do.”
Everyone is pissed or shook by his words, especially Monty “What a selfserving jackass!” but FINN (of all people...) defends Bell in a way “He also happens to be right...” Yeah well..
Flashback again. Abby and Jake are talking about the ark’s system failure he discovered. The ark is going to get out of oxygene in a forseeable future - which basically means certain death for the ark’s citizens. He wants to make it public but Abby’s desperately trying to hold him back.
On earth, now, Clarke’s found some herbs that could help with Jasper‘s wound. She, Wells and Finn go off into the woods to fetch some more. Oh look! They find an old car which basically stucks hidden in the ground.
Charlotte secretly followed Bellamy and the others on their hunting trip. OUPS! Bell almost hit her with his hatchet!!! Kiddo’s tough tho. She wants to stay, although the forest might be too dangerous for a little child. She even wants to hunt herself.
Meanwhile Clarke’s found some of the herbs in a river. But suddenly there are harsh noises: A swarm of birds coming towards the group! Then there’s kind of an alarm to hear, a siren. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! But they don’T have time to think about it bc a toxic looking storm cloud is rushing towards them!!! Like the birds before, they’re fleeing now too.
Flashback/The ark: Aw, baby Clarke and Wells playing chess together. Just besties having a good time. But Clarke’s worried. She’s telling him about the discovery her father made about the ark... and that he wants to go public with it! Wells reassures her “Your secret is save with me.” Mh...
On earth, now: The acid fog is everywhere now. Bell and Charlotte hurry to seek shelter in a cave together. In the dropship Octavia is worried “My brother is out there!”
Clarke, Finn and Wells find shelter in that old hidden car in the ground. Oh nice, there’s also an old bottle of whiskey. Finn immediately takes a sip. They have to sit out the storm anyway so they could as well have a drink.
It’s night now. In the cave Charlotte wakes up screaming again from a nightmare. But there’s DAD BELLAMY, reassuring her with his deep, hoarse voice. (Woah i mean it! It’s SO DEEP! I’m shivering... ) He’s probably used to similar situations with his sister back on the ark. “Slay your demons while you’re awake.” Oh-oh--
“Down here weakness is death, fear is death...” Well Bellamy... That’s some approach to soothe a kid after having a nightmare... But then he adviced her to hold on tight to her knife and face her fears: “ Screw you, i am not afraid!” The initial thought is nice. Seriously.......
Meanwhile in that hidden car: We learn, why Clarke’s hating Wells so damn much. “Remember the time when you betrayed me and got my father executed?” OUCH... That hits. She’s also drunken now. Wells defends himself “I made a mistake”. Kind of a weak excuse... Is he hiding something? Maybe?
Oh god... every word from Clarke hits now “If you were be my friend you would walk out into this fog and never come back...” Jesus... she’s so hurt and pissed.
In the dropship Murphy’s got enough, he wants to put an end to Jasper’s screams - and his life. Once and for all. But he’s been shut out from the higher deck by Octavia and co. Thank goodness..
Another flashback/The ark: Jake’s recording his message for the people of the ark and Clarke comes in witnessing it. They have an argument. Clarke’s so worried for his savety. But BOOM there are the guards already storming in, arresting Jake for treason... HOW COULD THEY KNOW?! It sinks in... Wells... right? shit... Clarke is screaming!
Earth, now: The acid fog is gone. Clarke and the others on their way back to camp. Finn confronts Wells about his betrayal on Clarke. Another weak reply: “I made a choice. And if she hates me for the rest of her life...” Ouch...
Bell and Charlotte are searching for the others of the hunting group in the forest. They meet. But where’s Atom?
Finn wants to play the referee between Clarke and Wells now. “How sure are you that Wells’s the one who turned in your dad?” He noticed that Wells might hide something... Clarke snaps back, she’s sure, she seemingly doesn’t WANT to forgive him - but you can see his words are gnawing on her. - Suddenly we hear Charlotte’s screams!
Charlotte has found Atom. He’s lying on the ground, gravely wounded and bleeding, visibly in heavy pain. Is that what the acid fog does to people?! Omg! Bell’s kneeling at his side, but he seems so overwhelmed by the situation. It’s clear to him: Atom won’t make it. It would be merciful to help him die... Atom even begs for it... Oh god... it hurts so much to see that guy suffer... But Bell’s just sitting there, the knife already in his hand, paralyzed and shook to the core...
And then Clarke appears behind him. He senses here before he sees her. She kneels down on Atom’s other side. She also notices very quickly that there’s no hope for Atom to survive this. Clarke flashes Bell a desperate look. There is no other way. OH GOD. I can’t even look at what comes next... but yes... i do it anyway...
Clarke takes the knife from Bellamy’s hand... and while humming a little lullaby to soothe him she plunged the blade into Atom’s neck, puts him out of his misery... And Charlotte’s witnessing it all... Oh-oh.--
Bell’s clearly and utterly impressed by Clarke’s doing. He’s almost in awe, can’t take his eyes off her. NOW WHO DOESN’T HAVE THE GUTS TO MAKE THE HARD CHOICES, HUH?! Bell’s seeing the princess with different eyes now. He’s got a lot of respect for her now. Nice for a change.
Back in camp Octavia’s mourning Atom’s death. She doesn’t want Bell to comfort her or any explanation and storms off crying. Bell IMMEDIATELY takes all his frustration about his inability to help Atom and the reaction of O onto Murphy, who’s just insulted Octavia. Suddenly there’s a lot of aggressive tension. But Murphy gives in. Good for him.
Flashback to the ark again: Jake’s about to be getting floated. Abby is desperate. Wells and his father are there too, of course. They can’t even look at the Griffins. Jake says goodbye to Abby, gives her his wedding ring. Oh gosh and suddenly Clarke’s there too, rushing into her father’s arms. She’s crying hard. Jake’s giving her his watch she’s later wearing in memory of him. Clarke doesn’t want to let go of him.
Just before he gets floated Jake only has eyes for the two women he loves, especially for Clarke. Then he gets sucked out into the vacuum. Very sudden, very fast.
Clarke’s breakdown in her mother’s arms is heartbreaking and hard to watch... Jesus i have to blink back tears, even though it might be already the 10th time i’m seeing this. This is so sad, gods...
Back in camp, today: Clarke’s tending on Jasper with the weeds she brought. He’s finally fallen asleep. - Out there Wells is digging graves yet again. Clarke appears, asking him right away: “It was my mom, wasn’t it?” She thought about it. What Finn was saying was probably just the last push she needed to come around. Maybe she didn’t want to see the truth until now. It’s too painful. Her own mother turned her father in... WHY?!
And Wells... Omg, good boy Wells took ALL THE BLAME on himself, just so that Clarke wouldn’t have to hate her own mom... Imma cry... What a selfless friend! Jesus, what you do when you’re in love... I’m speechless...
Oh, look! Jasper’s awake again! And he already wants a shot of moonshine... great... That’s not how you’re getting better, moron!
And then in the end... i feared it...
Charlotte and Wells... I see the bad moon rising. Seriously... Out of the blue inmidst an innocent talk... she’s STABBING HIM DOWN!!! She hit him with her knife! At the same spot, where Clarke had plunged her own knife into Atoms neck!!! Wells father killed her parents. His father’s face is what’s haunting her in her nightmares every night. “Slay your demons...” OH MY GOD... SHE TOOK THAT LITERALLY! Bell’s still got a lot to learn about parenting it seems... JESUS NO! NOT WELLS! Even after all this time i’m still cursing at my screen! WTF CHILD!  - Well... What a LOST child... Completely broken. That’s not even fair on all fronts... It’s so controversial.
Bellamy had all the good intentions - and it lead to so much pain. That’s hard. But he couldn’t have forseen this! How could he? IT IS NOT HIS FAULT! But that doesn’t make things any better. It just HURTS to see Wells die in such a bad and unnecessary way! Right after he had been forgiven by his Clarke... I CANNOT... I admit it... I shed a tear. I’ll probably always do it at this point. Wells Jaha deserved better. And we all know it. Woah that’s quite a show we’re watching here. And it certainly makes you pensive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tough stuff. But from now on... almost every episode is tbh. That’s the route we’re taking here. Serious shit’s happening - and is coming towards us. We know this now, at latest after finishing this episode. The mere THOUGHT that a kid should be capable of such a cruel act is almost unbearable. It‘s so hard to watch and it overpowers almost everything else that happened this episode. Jake’s death was very sad to see. But i understand why he had to try to warn the people, who are otherwise completely oblivious to what’s really going on with the ark’s survival systems. Also incisive: The mercy-killing of Atom... All these moments hit like a ton of bricks and make us, the audience, realize, what kind of show we‘re watching here. It’s dark and very disturbing but SO INTRIGUING and interesting you just want to watch further.
What i liked: Bellamy learns to respect Clarke, he even admires her for her courage.  Wells and Clarke’s reconciliation.
What i disliked: Isn’t that obvious? Charlotte killing Wells. Jake’s death. Clarke and Wells fighting (with words). It’s not nice to see Atom die either...
Fave quote(s): “Maybe being on the ground is our second chance”
Song(s) i associate with the episode: “It’s the fear” by Within Temptation (”It's the fear, fear of the dark. It's growing inside of me, that one day will come to life. - Long ago it came to me and ever since that day, infected with its rage, but it ends today. ”)

The first night without Marcus, Abby finds herself on Cece's couch. She spent most of the day in Raven's apartment with the others, but now she lays on her best friend's couch as her mind races. Callie has yet to come back to her apartment, but Abby knows she should be back soon. Once Cece gets back, Abby will probably crawl into bed with her best friend and hope that the pillow she snagged from Marcus's apartment still smells like him in the morning.
She can technically go sleep in his bed, but she doesn't want to be alone—and she and Cece both sleeping in Marcus's bed without him will raise some questions she doesn't feel like answering. Not that she hasn't been the center of a whole bunch of questions since she woke up with her memories of another life a month ago.

Every Green Ranger is at least a little bit queer. This is both true and non-negotiable.
Except Joel. Joel Rawlings, Sky Cowboy, is thoroughly and unwaveringly heterosexual. In fact, he's the only straight person on his team.
