Today is my Birthday! It's been a long hard year, but it brought me a lot of inspiration and I continued drawing my vtm OC's <3 Thank you all for following, replying, tagging with nice tags and supporting my journey! I need more steff in my life

it's steff time apparently

this is for @stobinesque and maybe @stobinesque only but here it is. something something steve and jeff are mutually pining until they are mutually kissing. i just missed your birthday and it feels like this could still just be considered a late and very, very short birthday gift.

putting under the cut just because it is so far from my usual posting and i am certain a lot of people are going to be so very in their feelings about it so this is giving me the 'you had to click read more to read this, it's on you friend!' excuse.

Jeff was used to everyone falling all over Eddie at shows. 

He was a natural performer; Talented, charming, attractive. 

So when Steve Harrington of all people walked up to him after their show, he was a bit confused.

“Um…sorry. What did you say?” Jeff asked him, eyes blinking as if it would help him understand why the hell Steve was here, or talking to him, or smiling at him like that.

“I asked if you wanted to grab a drink at the bar?” Steve’s smile weakened slightly, uncertainty starting to show on his face.

“I’m only 19.”

“And I’m only 20,” Steve laughed. “We could just get sodas if you want?”

What was happening? What was this?

“Sure,” he said, not sure at all.

Steve’s responding smile only added to the confusion.

If it were possible for a person to actually, literally be glowing, Steve was.

As if Jeff needed anything added to the mental checklist titled ‘Reasons To Love Steve Harrington.’

“Coke okay?” Steve asked when they got to the bar.

Jeff nodded. He watched as Steve ordered their drinks, watched as he handed over a $5 bill, watched him turn back with a beaming smile.

“Your show was great. You’re really good,” Steve said.

“Thanks, I had a lot of fun. I always do. The guys and I are, like, really trying to make a go of it and it just-”

He was cut off by Steve’s lips on his.

Steve’s lips were on his.

It was quick, only a peck in comparison to what Jeff tended to picture when he thought about having Steve close enough to touch. The length of the kiss didn’t matter, though.

Not when Steve was giving him his wide-eye stare, a small smile breaking through as touched his arm.

“Sorry, just. I’ve wanted to do that since the first show I saw,” Steve admitted, a blush forming on his cheeks.

Steve blushing? Maybe the best thing Jeff’s ever seen. The faint pink color spread down his neck, probably to his chest.

“I’m glad you did it. I’ve wanted you to since…maybe I was a Freshman?” Jeff leaned against the bar, his legs suddenly feeling weak.

“Really? You didn’t hate me then?”

“No! I mean, I probably wanted to hate you, especially when you were my entire sexuality crisis and I couldn’t even tell my friends, but-”

“Wait. I was your sexuality crisis?” Steve sounded smug, blush disappearing rapidly.

Jeff could only nod as Steve stepped in closer.

“I didn’t think I was your type.”

“You were. You are,” Jeff felt his heart literally skip a beat as Steve cupped his jaw in his hand.

“Good to know.”

Their second kiss was longer, like it was leading to more.

Jeff’s hands rested on Steve’s hips, a barely-there pressure for now.

He had the intention of holding him harder later, maybe leaving a reminder that he was the one holding him. 

This time, when the kiss ended, Steve blinked his eyes open slowly, his breaths uneven.

“You guys wanna take your drinks and go or keep crowding my bar while you make out?”

Jeff and Steve turned to the bartender, who was luckily staring at them with a knowing smirk instead of a disgusted or angry scowl.

“Sorry, we’ll go,” Jeff said after a moment, his brain finally coming back online.

They forgot their drinks. 

They didn’t need them anyway.
