after all that pain and humiliation and regret, xie lian can still give himself this small moment where his heart is lifted. and the image of the flower in the wind is seared into my mind’s eye. beautiful beautiful beautiful….

hiiiiiiiii im so mentally ill abt the swk-mk relationship from 1x09 into ROTSQ. wukong literally goes from having this “oh shit i Care about this kid” moment in 1x09 to Not Being There when mk faces off against the possessed dbk in 1x10. and then at the start of RotSQ they sit on that damn cliff again and wukong, for the first time, invites mk in, and we get to see just how lonely he really is. and mk’s about to leave, hesitates, realizes this, and Chooses to spend time with wukong. im so #normalgirl about them

(and also there’s tiny little origami versions of the original pilgrims in wukong’s little new year’s setup. and that’s just so everything to me)

There really something about that ROTSQ scene. The way Wukong comfortably turns as MK's stammering and trying to leave. He seems so...at ease in his loneliness.

I also lose my mind that their mini 4x12 training sequence takes place at the same temple:

Sun Wukong: "I've been alive a long, long time. I've fought along side the Brotherhood and the great Companions, and now you. You may not believe it but you are all stronger than you know! Every one of you is already a hero—together you can do this, we can do this! Are ya with me!"

The contrast (and similarity) to their ROTSQ convo:

Their whole strategy in TEW was getting Azure where they wanted him, by putting themselves where Azure wanted their team. Really #normalgirl about it all

Minor headcanon, but I think that Ei has a different sense of humor. Like, in an archon meeting, Zhongli is telling some jokes and notices Ei just tilts her head towards him, while, the others laugh. Then Zhongli starts to explain in detail the pun and even the historical context of the joke. While Venti says he killed the joke, by explaining it, Ei just laughs softly, which makes Zhongli feels accomplished and he still makes the joke and explain to her and she laughs every time.

The Saturday man on the radio is rolling around the usual Saturday tunes. Sometimes this all seems as Groundhog Day as the TV Guide. Take a different angle, take a different line, pick a different tune. Tuesdayville continues. As Del Amitri used to sing 'and nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all ... the needle returns to the start of the song ... and we all sing along like before.'

Today's groaner: apparently there's a homing pigeon for sale on Ebay ... it's been sold 19 times already ;-D badoom tish ... here all week!!

A rarely seen two legged, one eyed mossy Taptisaurus wandered into the Tuesdayville walled garden yesterday, said the lost postman sent him. Not sure what to feed him ... or if I should feed him at all. Get the feeling he came with a note, but that he ate it. I shall keep a close eye on him and await further instructions, which hopefully I'll get to read.

Yesterday I volunteered at a pollinator event and I got a free plant! It was a pale purple coneflower, a native species I had been having a hard time getting my hands on! And it was a lovely sized plant, not a seed or even a seedling!

I'd been neglecting my garden lately but that day the weather was supposed to be nice for a bit until some rain. So I grabbed my gloves and went out, intending to just clear a bit of crabgrass out of my native perennial bed to make a spot for the new plant.

I came back to consciousness two hours later.

I stopped when I felt the first raindrop. I had worn open blisters into two fingers, other fingertips had blisters so bad I could barely type, and my forearms were scratched to shit from crabgrass and fescue. I'd cleared out about three quarters of the weeds in the bed and also expanded it by six inches all around by pulling more grass and moving the edging stones.

anyways figured i should give a life update bc im not sure i ever explained why exactly im in ireland and im hoping to use this app slightly more so let’s get to it!!

when i first created this account, i was 18, had just started college, and was so deep in the closet that i wasn’t even out to myself. i don’t want to dwell too much on those times because i was so truly unhappy with myself it’s a miracle i stuck it out, but i am obviously very grateful that i did :)

- i’m now 21, have had my name legally changed, had top surgery almost a year ago, been on testosterone for over 2 years, and am currently working on getting my gender marker changed (expediting it for. no reason in particular)

- my family calls me by my name! mostly! something i wouldn’t have ever ever dreamed of, and still feels surreal every time

- i’m just over a month shy of graduating and being a certified teacher, which also feels very strange considering i am in fact 17 in my head

- i passed my certification exams first try and actually did very well (thank fuck because it was about $400 worth of tests)

- to finish my degree, i’m teaching in ireland!! i’ve been here for a month now, working at a local primary school and traveling during my free time, and it is GRAND (i do get very homesick so i’m not sure moving abroad for a prolonged period of time will ever be in the cards for me but again for. no reason in particular i am still considering). i work with 4th class and every single kid tries to give me a high five in the hall its a traffic nightmare and the teachers hate me for it

- i saw glass animals in dublin and got barricade??? so drew and i are basically married

- i met a long time internet friend (nearly 7 years) in manchester last week and it was truly marvelous. he, his girlfriend, and i have all transitioned during that time, so it felt very profound to sit on their carpet and carve fruit and drink wine and realize how much we’ve overcome and how truly happy we are despite everything

- my niece turned 1 today and has brought so much joy to everyone’s lives (gutted i’m not there but i had a donut in her honor)

- got the ghosts brought to life book wahoo

- once i’m back in the states ill be moving home and close to family for the foreseeable future, and will get to chill until i start teaching in july-ish!! i look forward to feeling like a normal human briefly

i think that’s all i can think up for now! of course i’m worried about the state of my country and my future but right now i feel loved and important to the people i care about and that’s enough

hopefully it’s not a year before i actually post again, love u lot

anyway walked outside and got blasted in the face by direct, very bright sun and dry air which caused my eye to immediately water and burn so intensely my nose started running

There are some downsides to nerve medications.
