gonna be honest, dorlily is such a new concept to me bc i've always been a dorlene shipper. that said, i loveddd exploring their dynamic and the sunshine x sunshine protector vibes they give off. i apparently spent 33+ hours on this piece (the angle was hell to work with after not drawing anything for months) but i couldn't let go of the concept — it was too full of desire and softness MY LOVERGIRL ASS HAD TO DELIVER!!! i really hope you like it @lesbian-disaster-tm ❤️

something about the only two widely hc-ed black women in marauders era (mary and dorcas) being the sexiest hottest eye-candied women in hogwarts (casanovas of gryffindor and slytherin respectively) & desi james potter being accused of "taking regulus' innocence" who is just generally infantilized and shown to be pure & remus being a minority who is portrayed to be aggressive and harmful and downright violent living up to that and being overbearingly dominant and borderline abusive to his white smaller, emotionally vulnerable partner who won't leave them & evan being the only marauders era man hc-ed as black (though occasionally) being constantly shown as violent and creepy and um . i cant talk about anyone else because there's no one else to talk about ,, but like . something about them

25 Days of Jegumas | Day 1 | Day 23 December 24 - The Night Before Christmas | @noblehouseofgay | wc: 551

Regulus and James lazed around the house for a while before they had to head back and start getting ready for the party that they’re hosting. So they say goodbye to James’ parents and head out of the house -- Sirius and Remus are still asleep and the girls left earlier in the day since they also had a couple last minute things to put together before the party -- and head home. 

With just an hour before the party, they all change into some nicer clothes than the ones that they were wearing to clean up and finish off prepping the house and presents. It’s not long after that does Lily, Pandora, and Luna show up with some food and a nice bottle of champagne. Luna and Harry race up to the boy’s room to play, leaving the adults to settle around the living room and talk. Alice, Frank, Neville, and Pete come in not long after that and James helps Neville get to Harry’s room before coming back down and joining the fray. 

Soon their house is full, Sirius, Remus, Marlene, and Dorcas showing up at the same time, then Mary bringing Emmeline around and finally Barty and Evan showing up nearly an hour late as they tend to do. Drink gets flowing and the kids come down for the saran wrap game that James put together for them and to eat before heading back up to the room to continue with their playing. Some card games get pulled out and the group is all playing their games well into the night before they start to get tired and head home. 

It’s nearly ten at night when everyone is out of the house other than James, Regulus, Pandora, Lily, and their two kids. James ushers the two onto the couch and goes to grab their Christmas Eve presents, handing the bags to them. Regulus helps Harry and Pandora helps Luna pull the taped bags open and pull out a pair of matching pajamas, some fluffy socks, and a stuffed animal for each of them. The kids squeal and celebrate and go to change into their pajamas with the help of their parents while James pulls out matching pajamas for all of the adults. 

When everyone has changed into their sleep clothes and they’ve snapped a couple pictures of the family, James helps Luna and Harry put together a plate of sweet treats and a glass of milk in a fun Christmas cup that they pull out every year and put it on the center table of the living room. Then they’re ushering their kids to their bedrooms and heading to their own -- Lily and Pandora have their own room in this house, just as Regulus and James have in theirs. 

At just after midnight, James sneaks from their husband’s arms and slips through the hall as quietly as possible so as to not disturb anyone. They grab the presents from Santa from the closet that no one opens because it’s just full of random junk and gently place them on the floor next to the couch where Luna and Harry have set their stockings. Then they go around and fill each person’s stocking. It’s nearly two in the morning when they’re finished and are finally able to head back to bed.
