Overworked- DCxDP prompt
The knight led the group of selected heroes into the throne room. Sitting before a crowd of his people was none other than the ghost king.
"Do not test His Majesty, his mood his well this day. Say only what is necessary." The knight warned before stepping aside.
The kind wasn't what Constantine had mentioned. He was young and rather small for the throne he now sits on. The green flaming crown was unmistakable though.
The young man glared at them with intense animosity, his upper lip curled as he held back a reflexive snarl. Sharp canines peeked out just for a moment as he schooled his expression.
"Do you have any idea what you've done?" The kind said drumming his fingers on the armrest of his chair. His black claws each clicking aginst the cold metal.
The group had been briefed on the situation by Constantine after they were summoning to this realm.
The short and sweet was that they were being mandated to appear before the king of the infinite realms for a long list of violations against the order of the universe. The current group contains Bruce, Clark, Wally, Kon, Jason, Hal, Barry, and Damian. Constantine himself will also be there but he already knows that this tribunal will have multiple groups.
The group reamined mostly silent.
"Where you not read your list of crimes?" The boy asked this time.
An attendant scurried through the crowd with a large scroll in hand before the king immediately waved him off tp return to his post.
"No, lets skip the reading. It would take cycles to get through the charges. Let me be brief. You have all been found guilty of charges of resurrection, time traveling, timeline manipulation, Planetary rearranging courtesy of Mr.Kent here, Interdimensional universe travel, and UNIVERSE MELDING! THE LIST GOES ON!" The king became more irate with every charge. "Tell me why I shouldn't banish you to an empty dimension right this instance."
Constantine knew this was all politics at the end of the day. This whole thing could be smoothed over with the right words by the right person.
"We are human." Bruce said firmly before anyone could stop him. Jason held back a groan of agitation.
"...So you are. What does that have to do with anything?" He boy asked.
"Isn't it natural for us to want to live and do whatever we can to keep living?" Bruce responded
Murmurs erupted amongst the crowd of onlookers.
"So what? Do you think you are the exception then? Look around heroes. This room is full of ghosts who would also have done to keep living. My people couldn't avoid death but they accepted it. What can I say to them if I let you go while they paid their price? How fair would that be?" The king condemned.
The murmurs turned into cheers for their king's words. It was unfair. Why do they get to do what they want without repercussions when they died without even getting the option to live?
"If it counts for anything many of us died to protect as many people as possible," Hal said.
"Well, good for you. How much was that sacrifice worth in the face of your resurrection? That probably doesn't feel cheap at all." The king said sarcastically. "I suppose that goes for most of you."
"I have an objection. Resurrection is not a choice if someone chooses to bring us back we don't get a say. By default we shouldn't be charged for it." Jason argued.
The king paused and raised a hand silencing the crowd.
"Hmmm, I suppose you are correct. Fine, I will strike it from the record." The kind relented.
The heroes had finally found an in. If they could argue their charges down they could leave.
"None of use have willingly time traveled. Hell i hated it. Being lost in time was not a chose we made." Wally said as Barry nodded along.
The king bit the inside of his cheek as he pondered the response.
"I suppose I can overlook it."
"Let me just say that any melding of the universe happened as a consequence of our battle with Darkside." Clark said getting rid of their their biggest charge.
"Darkside?" The king narrowed his eyes.
A courtier stepped forward and leaned down to whisper into the boy king's ear.
"I see. He will be added to the ledger for his crimes. His trial will not be as forgiving as yours. You will not be seeing him again." The boy silently signaled to the knight who bowed and exited with a group of others.
The boy sighed and stood up.
"Follow me."
The group was led down a long corridor to an office with stacks of paperwork from floor to ceiling lining the walls.
"Welcome to my personal hell." The king announced.
Constantine whistled at the sheer number of documents scattered across the room.
"Sorry about the whole court thing. I don't really want to do it but I kind of have to. The Observers demand some kind of punishment for violations. Also, you need to understand that your actions are kept track of and you can't escape it. When you break the rule I have to do the paperwork. AND I HATE PAPERWORK. So here is the deal. You guys bring me the people that have done worse than you on this list and I'll call it square. And if you don't I take everyone's souls." The King handed the scroll to Bruce. "I want the Al Ghul clan first."
"Wait but my-" Damian spoke out but was cut off by the King's raised hand to silance him.
"It is irrelevant to me what your personal issues are. Every violator will be judged for their crimes. If they can give me a good plea then they can return. Consider yourself lucky that you're too young for a full sentencing. As for the rest just do what I say and make up for your crimes. This is a mercy so don't complain."
It was clear that the moody young king wasn't going to argue. It was best to keep quiet and before they knew it the group was sent back to earth.
"You have no idea how lucky we got," Constantine said lighting up a cigarette and leaving to get a drink.

"Do you have anything you would like to pack?" his little brother, who he hasn't seen in a decade, asks with an affected hesitance.
A test. But when isn't it with the League?
He remembers that well enough, tests upon tests upon tests. Every breathe a test, every step an evaluation, every blink a quiz and he failed and failed and failed until they cast him aside like yesterday's garbage.
But Danny had planned for this eventuality. Had planned and planned and planned until his back-up plans had back-up plans, with his parents - the ones that had actually cared for him - and his sister throwing in suggestions and revisions along the way.
With the acquisition of his ghost powers the plans got all the simpler.
It would only take a short time back with the League to get a lay of the land and chose a primary plan. A quick text to his mirror-born and she'd have a fake body ready to swap with him at the drop of a hat.
So he pasted on a stoic expression and gave a simple "No."
'Aren't I a good little soldier,' he let his body language scream for him. 'Look how well I've avoided making any attachments! Look how eternal my loyalty to the League burns, that a decade with a loving family has not swayed me in the slightest. I'll leave all behind, o' Demon's Heir, for I am at your command. Nothing has changed. There is no need to be alarmed. I am just another League asset ready for reassignment.'
His brother's gaze flicked to the box cutter and Danny swiftly closed and stowed in on his person in a way that, to Damian, must have screamed "I haven't kept up with my weapons practice since I got here and would still lose to 6-year-old you."
He swallowed back the conflicted feelings - humiliation at how he must look, jealousy at his brother's prowess that had undoubtedly only improved in their time apart, relief that he hadn't had to keep up with said practice, warring joy and fear that the League had finally come back for him, grief and anticipation that this was likely the last time he'd ever see his brother or any of the League ever again - and kept vicious hold of his neutral expression.
His brother nodded, an awkward expression Danny couldn't place the purpose of marring his face as he turned back down the stairs.
Like a loyal dog shadow, Danny followed.
---
It was quite the struggle for Danny to keep his emotions in check upon seeing the entirety of the Wayne family sat in his living room.
There was shock, sure, but primarily disappointment. First Lex, then Vlad, and now even Brucie Wayne. Danny would appreciate it if billionaires could stop being genuinely evil for five seconds, thanks.
Every single one of them glance up at the pair as they enter the living room, and Tucker pauses his speech to look over his shoulder.
Danny lets his expression return to normal before Tucker can see him - he loves his friends, but they'd all agreed that Sam and Tucker didn't have the emotional control to avoid giving anything away, and given that Danny left at six, any kind of attempt at a code phrase was just as likely to give away the game.
When and if the League came for him, they'd decided, Danny would disappear on his own, and text them when Operation: Death 2 (the two was added after his first death) was complete and he was on his way home.
The League would simply see it as him playing along to maintain cover until they were well and truly gone.
"Wow, I already thought you guys looked a lot alike but seeing you standing side-by-side is way trippy," Tucker says, eyes flicking between them.
Danny could practically hear the unspoken "Did Bruce Wayne also decide to clone you???"
For his part, Danny just snorts.
"Everyone in the world has, like, 7 look-a-likes Tuck. Sometimes they meet."
"It be like that sometimes," Tucker nods sagely.
"It really do," Danny grins back, before turning to the other guests. "Anyway, sorry for interrupting your little expo here, I'm just headed out to the shed, don't mind me."
"I shall assist," Damian says. It isn't unexpected, he doubts the Demon's Heir cares about a battery - not when he doesn't know it's made of Lazarus water, at least.
"I'd appreciate it, if it's not too much trouble," Danny smiles, all midwestern charm as he nods and opens the door for the both of them.
His expression drops back to complete neutrality once the door is closed, and voices pick up again inside. Luckily, the curtains are shut, so Tucker won't see him ignore the shed completely and return his empty gaze to his brother, just another drone awaiting orders.
His brother freezes as he turns to catch the expression.
"The shed?" he asks.
Danny doesn't hesitate, though he doesn't understand why Damian asks when he should know.
"An excuse, keeping Foley in the dark will allow more time for exfiltration. Given you are here as a civilian, it is important to confuse the timeframes."
Left unsaid is that they could just kill Tucker, but that would be even more suspicious.
He lets his eyes flick to the dark car parked on the curb leadingly.
Damian finally moves to the vehicle. They spend the next 20 minutes in stoic, awkward silence hidden behind tinted windows. He honestly can't believe it's taking them this long to give an excuse to leave.
---
The first thing Tim notices about Damian 2 - Danny, he reminds himself - is the eyes. If the two of them wore the same clothes, it would be the eyes alone that distinguished them, the vibrant blue a stark contrast to Damian's own dark green.
The next thing he notices is the emotion. Or rather, the lack thereof.
When Damian first came to the Wayne's he was a vicious thing, primary emotions being: fury and stabby.
Danny just look dead. A statue wouldn't been more lifelike stood next to him.
Then, as the young inventor they'd used as a cover story began to turn, he melted to life, all charming smiles and amused quirks of the lips and friendly banter. It would've been a relief to see him turn out so normal if not for that empty, empty expression he'd had not moments before.
Instead, they saw the interaction for what it was - Danny had grow up a spy, and just like Damian had thrown his all into murder, Danny had throw his all into spying, until everything he was - his expressions, his emotions, his body language, every aspect of communication down to the last detail - was exactly what he wanted it to be.
Meeting in any other circumstance, Tim would've taken him for just another Clark-type in the making. He was the perfect actor.
How long had he waited here, Tim wondered, molding himself into this for just a scrap of attention from the League? And after a full decade, how much of the real Danny was left?
---
As it turned out, Tucker Foley's design actually had quite a lot of promise. It made Tim feel less bad about using him as an excuse to be in the area, at least, and they swiftly scheduled a second meeting with him before returning to the car.
The awkward, intense silence that greeted them was honestly exactly was Tim would expect from putting two Damians in the same room - well, if you forbade stabbing first.
Speaking of which -
"So, like, you aren't going to try to stab and/or murder me are you?" Tim asks once they're all filed in and on their way to the airport.
"Tim." Bruce reprimands.
"Come on, that's totally a fair question. I have a right to know if I need to start sleeping with two eyes open again."
"As if you sleep in the first place, Drake," Damian rolls his eyes.
"He's got ya there Timmy," Dick chimes in, the traitor.
"Sleep is for the weak," he retorts, before turning back to Danny. "Seriously though, stabbing?"
In lieu of an answer, Danny looks to Damian.
Damian grimaces.
"No stabbing," he says, and Danny just nods before returning his eyes to a point somewhere over Dick's shoulder, right where he'd been looking before they entered the limo.
A beat passes.
"Also no murder," Damian spits out, in what Tim would very nearly call a panicked afterthought.
Danny blinks, a look of sheer confusion washing over his face before it's shoved back away and he looks over and nods once mor, tacking on a dull "Understood."
The uneasy silence returned, and Bruce seemed preoccupied simply staring at his new son.
"So!" Dick clapped, evidently deciding he'd had enough. "It's nice to finally meet you, Danny - can I call you Danny? - I'm your oldest brother, Richard Grayson! But just call me Dick."
"I have no brothers," Danny said, eyes chips of ice.
---
Danny was having a bad time.
Anyone in Amity Park could tell you Danny Fenton? Can't lie for shit.
The one thing he can do is keep his mouth shut and pray that's sufficient.
Keeping a straight face is a battle for a variety of reasons, and The best luck he's already had to leave about a dozen puns unsaid in the course of the car ride thus far.
Not only is he struggling not to pun, he's struggling to understand.
Why does this Tim guy think Danny would stab him? Why is Damian telling him not to stab him?? Why is Damian forbidding murder???
It's not that Danny has problem with the lack of stabbing and murder - quite the opposite - it's just that... it's Damian. Damian, here to personally exfiltrate him. Damian, Demon's Heir. Whose entourage, then, must be composed of League members. Which, of course he wouldn't stab them (outside of training) so why does it need to be said?
He would think they just think that poorly of him, if not for the fact that these others don't read as League members at all.
Calculated movements, highly aware of their surroundings, suspiciously muscular? Yeah, sure.
But they're acting like they're trying to make casual conversation.
He would think it's all a test - and of course it must be - except...what is the point of claiming to be his brother when he only has a single brother: the twin he isn't allowed to acknowledge as his brother.
When he says he doesn't have a brother, out of the corner of his eye, he almost thinks Damian looks hurt.
He brushes it off as his imagination.
"Daniel," Bruce Wayne calls him, and he can't fully suppress his reaction. He knows everyone of them must see the clenched jaw, the seat squishing between clenched fingers, and the look of utter hatred and disdain that washes over him for a split second before he can squash it back down.
"Danny," the man corrects, and name doesn't sound like a reprimand, but he hears one anyway. "You may not remember all of the details as you were... young. when you left the League of Assassins. But Damian is your twin brother."
"I recall our biological connection. That does not make him my brother, he is the Heir."
This, at least, he doesn't need to act to say in a dead voice. This is a just quote, beaten into his brain until it echoed around and around at every errant thought of his brother, a constant background static even after all of his time away.
"I am your brother," Damian says, voice firm, "heir or not."
"The Demon's Head has changed his mind on the matter, then?"
The question is absent, Danny doesn't really care about the answer, he just cares about blending in long enough to pull off his plan, except-
"Grandfather is dead."
---
"Grandfather is dead."
Damian watches as his brother's eyes sharpen for perhaps the first time the whole car ride.
"And the Pits didn't work?"
"He was not afforded the use of the pits, given that it was a coup. Grandfather is dead, mother has gone into hiding, and I... have been living with our father for a few years now."
He gestures with his eyes - uncertain how much his brother knows - and watches on as he and Father enter a brief staring competition.
"Hello," Father says, only slightly less stunned silent than he'd been when he had first met Damian.
"Hello," Danny returns, voice hollow rather than the more neutral-lilt it had adopted previously.
"So if the League has been... overtaken... my new assignment-"
"There is no new assignment," Father cuts in, voice gentle but sure.
"What."
"Even if the League weren't disbanded there would be no new assignment, your only duty now is to try and enjoy what childhood you have left. I...was unaware that I had children with Talia until she left Damian with me six years ago. And-"
"And we didn't find out about you until Timmers interrupted one of your reports the other day!" Dick interrupted, ruffling Tim's hair and indirectly throwing Damian under and 18-wheeler in the process.
His brother - his twin - looked at him. His face was once again blank, but Damian could sense the askance all the same.
"I... forgot you."
Damian did not know his brother well - at all, really - but he felt that the lack of change in expression might've been the worst possible outcome.
"Then you are not here to exfiltrate me on behalf of the League."
It wasn't a question, but...
"No."
"And you aren't here to ask my help in finding mother or undoing to coup?"
"No," he answers just in time for the car to pull to a stop at the airport.
"Perhaps we should wait to continue this conversation until we are in the privacy of the jet."
Dpxdc AU: Damian decides that it’s time to go collect his brother from his assignment. Danny is starting to sniff out some non-ghostly bullshit for once.
Damian knew his twin had been exiled from the age of seven, banished to travel and observe how scientists around the world engaged with Lazarus water. The only word that Damian received that his spare was still alive were the letters of lab reports and findings that were sent back to base. As the Heir, he’s pushed to be better lest he himself be exiled or simply executed. Danny becomes a fleeting thought and then once Damian arrived in Gotham, a none existent thought.
They weren’t raised to be friends or even friendly. The were not taught codependency or allotted time to bond. The could have been perfect strangers if not for their appearance and the stories of Danny’s shortcomings becoming Damian’s praise.
It’s only once Tim informs him of an intercepted letter, one sent and saved from years prior, that Damian recalls Danny enough to care. Tim prompts him to share more, especially given the coup recently committed by Deathstroke (Slade) and Talia gone into hiding with her zealots.
At family dinner that night Damian supplies: “I suppose I should be the one to bereave my twin of his assignment. His reports will certainly go unread.”
Chaos in the Batfam ensues- meanwhile across the country- Danny sneezes and finishes writing his yearly report: “No major discoveries aside from public record patents (attached), No assistance required. -Spare”. He doesn’t know why he bothers, he hasn’t received any contact from his mother or grandfather since he was 10ish and certainly hasnt thought about his twin. But, if there’s a chance (even an itty bitty one) that his reports are being read and are holding off his reassignment, he’d rather keep assassins out of Amity Park.
Little does he know that this letter is about to be intercepted by Pru, former assassin and friend of Tim Drake. He hadn’t expected his twin to suddenly arrive and tell him that his job was done. And certainly, seeing a plane filled with an uncomfortable looking ‘family’ that requested he join them and get to know Gotham and his birth father, was not on his bingo list.
Danny does his best to let them down gently- and they seem to be accepting that he’s acclimated to this weird little town and will leave him be- when Danny suddenly has to transform into Phantom in front of them to handle a rocket sent by Skulker.
They are less willing to accept his appeal to be left alone after that… Damian is trying to “bond” with him and all the others are trying to “help” in their own way.
Sam and Tucker howl with laughter at Danny’s suddenly very large family- all while secretly working with the Wayne’s to get Danny the fuck away from the Fentons before the scientists do something they can’t undo.

Okay so I saw this post and you know the types of fics where adult Danny moves to Gotham and winds up emotionally adopting one or more of bat kids or accidentally coparenting with Bruce (with or without a relationship between them)? I had the thought, what if Danny parented the bat kids but he started doing it out of spite?
Like, Danny moves to Gotham and runs into Batman and Robin one night while out for a late night flight and drops down to the rooftop to say hi.
Bruce sees this 5'6" twink that looks like a stiff breeze could knock him over and is so obviously new in town and thinks Gotham is going to eat him alive, he needs to leave before he gets killed.
Batman: Looming menacingly and in his deepest scariest Batman voice, "Leave. Metas aren't allowed in Gotham."
Danny: Offend! Excuse?! Who does this guy think he is?! 😡 Danny was trying to be polite here! "First of all, I'm not a meta. Second of all, rude much?!"
Batman: Does scariest bat glare. "Leave." Swoops off into the night.
Robin (Damian): "My father is correct. You should leave the city for your own safety."
Danny sees this tiny vigilante child with fierce expression and a sword and is just like awww, so cute! 😍 Then he noticed Robin had a small cut on his arm and his inner gremlin activates. If the rude flying furry can't take care of his own kid properly, Danny will do it better!
He bandages up Damian's arm, gives him a cookie and teaches him a neat sword trick before sending him on his way with a hug telling him he needs his sleep.
Danny goes out of his way to run into the bat kids and be the absolute best dad.
He takes Nightwing flying and throws him in the air so Nightwing can do all the fanciest acrobatic tricks.
He tracks down Red Hood and starts a book club with him (Danny may or may not have used his connection with Ghost Writer to get ahold of some rare books).
He eats waffles with Spoiler and trys out weird topping combinations that make them both make faces and laugh.
He makes new gadgets for Red Robin but carefully breaks them just a little bit and takes them to the teen so they can fix them together (it's enrichment!). He always insists RR keep them as a reward.
He follows Signal around during the day invisibly, making faces and doing tricks only Signal can see (he made him laugh in front of the police at a crime scene twice!).
All of the kids get his attention and love and Danny smugly thinks how Batman must be absolutely seething about his kids bonding with Danny and Batman missing out on all of it.
Danny started it out of spite but he does wind up genuinely loving the bat kids.
Batman definetly hates it when the kids are bonding with Danny and is extremely jealous (sulky Batman brooding in his cave about it).
Bruce's repeated attempts to intimidate Danny into leaving Gotham don't work and him telling his kids to stay away from Danny had zero effect (the terrible children don't listen to him at all).
So Bruce starts spending more time with the kids to compete against Danny. The bat kids love it and (little gremlins that they are) use the two of them against each other constantly.
Bruce:"Sorry Tim, I can't make it to your photography exhibit this weekend, there's a meeting with the Justice League."
Tim:"Oh that's fine... I'll just ask Danny to come." 😏
Bruce: Narrows his eyes and grits his teeth, "Actually, the Justice League needs to have contingencies in place to manage without my input. This would be a good time to test their capabilities. I'll skip the meeting and come to your exhibit."
With both of them competing to spend more time with the kids it leads to the two of them spending time with each other to be around the kids more.
After Damian catches a terrible flu bug, Danny spends an entire weekend at the manor babying him. This is when Bruce finds out Danny has known their secret identities for months and tries to get mad about it but Alfred puts his foot down, raises a judgmental eyebrow in Bruce's direction that puts a stop to that nonsense and sets up Danny with his own room in the family wing.
Eventually, Danny gets to the point where he spends most of his nights at the manor and he and Bruce consult each other on all major household decisions.
The whole family is at the manor one morning including Danny. Bruce has a meeting at WE and he and Danny are absently discussing their plans for the day at the breakfast table.
Bruce: " The meeting should take most of the morning and then I have paperwork this afternoon and a scheduled walk through on one of the new engineering projects. I probably won't be done by the time school let's out. Can you pick up Damian today?"
Danny: "That shouldn't be a problem. Would you mind swinging by the bookstore on the way home and getting my preorder? Jay and I just finished rereading the first book and we were wanting to start the second tonight before you all go on patrol. I'd rather not try to make it to the bookstore in school rush hour traffic"
Bruce: "Sure."
Stephanie watches Danny reach out and absently straighten Bruce's tie as they both get up to leave. Bruce grabs Danny's coffee thermos and hands it to him while they walk out the door.
Stephanie: "Sooo, bets on how long until they realize they're basically married?"

Delilah's language (part two)
Previous | Master Post | Next
"Tomorrow?" Danny repeated, glad he had set his cup down.
Mr. Wayne smiled, relieved Danny hadn't completely brushed him off. "yes, it's tomorrow. Damian, my son, is a huge conservationist. he gets it from his mother."
Danny blinked but before he could cut in, Mr. Wayne continued, "Oh! not that I don't care about the environment and stuff, it's just-"
"I get it," Danny reassured. he did not want to get stuck listening to Mr. Wayne try and fail to 'fix' his self-perceived mistake. "but I still don't really understand why you want me there..."
like sure, the kid's a fan of Danny or whatever (he was still trying to wrap his mind around that one.) but would the kid actually want Danny at his party? wouldn't that be like... he didn't know, weird? to just have this random guy from Illinois show up?
"Right!" Mr. Wayne coughed, scratching his face in embarrassment. "once Damian learned that the purple back gorillas would be in Gotham, I suggested we have his birthday party at the zoo. He told me he wanted to know everything he could about their species. so, I invited all the scientists working with the gorillas to the party so he could talk to them."
Danny nodded in understanding when Mr. Wayne glanced at him, even if Danny thought that that was the most fruitloop way he could have gone about it. then again, Danny's pretty sure all billionaires were fruit loops...
"He started digging into their history once he learned about them, and after some digging, he discovered that you basically saved their species. He has declared that he must meet you at all costs. something about needing to know their language?" Mr. Wayne trailed off, looking at Danny as if to see if he knew what his son meant.
If the kid was looking to Danny so he could learn the language then that meant he read the same paper Danny had. the scientists that had dedicated themselves to studying Delilah had printed one claiming that the purpleback Gorilla language was apparently hard to learn. (Even if Danny had been able to understand it pretty easily and told them so.)
they had listed Danny as the only person fluent in it so far, which now that Danny thought about it was kinda rude. they hadn't asked to put his name in there and now look at him! being visited by Fruitloops looking for him to be at their son's birthday parties.
anyways.
so, if the kid, Damian, read the same paper, he must have concluded it would be easier to learn the language from someone who was already 'fluent' than try and teach himself. (something Danny can't blame the kid for, but still.)
"KIDS!" Dad's voice bellowed from downstairs making Mr. Wayne startle and turn to glance down the hall. "IT WORKS! IT WORKS!"
...
"so, when do we need to leave?" Danny asked, all previous paranoia and reservations thrown out the window.
mr. Wayne slowly turned back, his brows furrowed in confusion. "we, uh, we'd have to leave in," he glanced down at his watch, his eyes widening a little, "an hour. I have to leave in an hour."
mr. Wayne then frowned as he looked back up at Danny, "I just need your parent's permission and you can come with me now, or I can arrange for another flight for you later tonight or early tomorrow?'
danny did not want to find out how they were going to test their new machine, so, he turned and cupped his hands around his mouth as he shouted, "HEY MA! CAN I GO WITH MR. WAYNE TO HIS KID'S BIRTHDAY PARTY?!"
it was silent for a second before she shouted back, "SURE! JUST BE BACK BEFORE WE LEAVE FOR OUR TRIP!"
oh, right. his parents had a trip planned for their anniversary. something about a huge ghost or demon trap in Wyoming they wanted to investigate.
"YOU'RE LEAVING TOMORROW THOUGH!" Danny shouted back, "DAMIAN'S BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW! I CAN'T GO IF I WANT TO BE BACK IN TIME!"
"OH! UH, THEN JUST BE SAFE! TAKE YOUR BLASTERS WITH YOU!"
Danny blinked, then shrugged. He could do that. turning back he found Mr. Wayne staring at the floor, his brows raised and furrowed in concerned confusion. Danny didn't know someone could make a face like that, but seeing as Mom had finally gotten Mr. Lancer to curse in front of him last year, it wasn't that surprising.
"let me pack my bag and then we can get going," Danny announced, standing up and grabbing his cup from the table, silently offering to take Mr. Wayne's as well. the man handed him his full cup and watched as Danny walked away.
well, at least Danny had already told the other ghosts to leave him alone for the rest of the week. they shouldn't get into too much trouble while he's gone. speaking of trouble, Mr. Wayne lived in Gotham, a place riddled with crime and violence.
dupping the cups into the sink, Danny turned and rushed up the stairs. unplugging his phone, Danny sent Sam and Tucker a text to let them know he wouldn't be in amity for the rest of today and tomorrow. he also let them know he'd keep them updated.
once done with that, Danny turned to his closet and rummaged around until he found his old backpack. pulling it out, he dumped the contents onto his desk and made quick work of packing his essentials. Clothes, phone chargers, and ectoplasm in case of emergencies. Mr. Wayne said he'd pay for the travel fair and hotel expenses, so Danny only needed to worry about food.
glancing in the mirror, Danny finally noticed he was still dressed in his pj's. he took a second to debate whether he really cared enough to get dressed properly or not before shrugging. Mr. Wayne's already seen him in them and they're comfy, no point in changing.
zipping up his bag, Danny tossed it over his shoulder and quickly ran downstairs. Mr. Wayne was walking around the room, studying a few of the leftover project pieces that his parents had left lying around. man, Jazz was going to be so annoyed once she learned they hadn't been picking up after themselves. again.
"Alright, Mr. Wayne. I'm ready when you are." Danny greeted, stepping into the room. the man turned to look at him, a strained smile on his face, "Just Bruce is fine."
"Alright, mr. bruce then." Danny agreed, gesturing for the man to start making his way to the door.
mr. Bruce heaved a sigh, shook his head in resignation, and turned to walk out the door. digging his keys out of his pocket, Danny turned to shout into the house one more time, "BYE MA, DAD! I'M LEAVING! HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP!"
not waiting for a response, he closed the door and locked it. turning around, he found Mr. Bruce studying him. lifting his brow in confusion, Danny started making his way down the steps and over to Mr. Bruce's fancy car. why the man had a fancy car when he said he'd be flying Danny didn't know, but he's pretty sure it has something to do with image or something.
Vlad did the same thing after all.

Well, seems like something that was just a theory before has come very close to truth...
Because of this major revelation, I wanted to take a deep dive into what we know about Donovan so far and how hints throughout past chapters could indeed indicate that he can read minds. While we still don't have concrete proof for this other than Melinda's word, I don't believe there's anything that discredits this idea, either. In fact, many things throughout the series support it.
First we have Loid's encounter with Donovan way back in chapter 38. I always found it strange that we never got insight into Donovan's thoughts throughout that whole exchange. We always get to know what characters are thinking, even without Anya's mind-reading support. It's not an uncommon storytelling mechanic in general after all, especially for manga. Yet, Endo chose not to give us any insight into what Donovan was thinking. I figured this was simply to avoid spoiling anything about what his exact plans and motives are for future stories (also why Anya was absent for this). But now it seems like this could have also been to hide the fact that he can read minds. If he can read minds, certain things he said during that exchange take on a more ominous meaning. For example, what he said below about how people can never truly understand each other.
It's been a headcanon of mine that the reason why Anya, and perhaps Donovan, were given mind-reading powers, stemmed from the desire for world peace...the idea being that if people could read each other's minds - in other words, always know what others are thinking and feeling, sympathy and understanding would abound.
We learn later on that Donovan had ideas like this even as a kid when he made a similar comment during his debate competition speech. He said that it's impossible to know the true intentions of others so people will forever doubt each other, thus war is inevitable.
We also have the little detail in today's chapter that Donovan did not have the scars on his head during Melinda's flashback (of course, he didn't have them as a kid in chapter 99 either).
Now this is totally my theory, but if we take Melinda's words as the truth, without any misunderstanding, then sometime in Donovan's adult life after he married and had a child, he was experimented on and was given mind-reading powers, perhaps by force but most likely by choice. Now that he has these powers, his laments about people not being able to understand each other are no longer true, at least not for him. Perhaps the experiments done on Anya were preliminary tests that he put together to perfect the mind-reading implementation science before actually doing it to himself. Again, totally just speculation, but not out of the question.
Then we have Demetrius...we learned in chapter 93 that Anya has trouble reading his mind.
If we put that together with Melinda's comment in today's new chapter, that Demetris also took note of Donovan being able to read minds...
...then perhaps Demetrius conditioned himself to think in ways that would make it difficult for his mind to be read, specifically to thwart the "alien" that's impersonating his father. I mentioned last time that I don't think Donovan is actually an alien, and that this description is the only explanation Melinda could come up with to explain his mind-reading powers. If this is true though, it really does make the Desmond dinner scene all the more telling...that throughout all those panels without dialogue, Donovan was absorbing the deepest inner thoughts of his family members (and again, no insight into his own thoughts, just like in chapter 38).
But if the "Donovan can read minds" theory holds true, then the most disturbing idea of all is that Donovan knows that Twilight is a spy. He knows that he's the target of Twilight's mission, and that Twilight seeks to thwart him. Not only that, but depending on what he's read of Damian and Melinda's minds, he knows that they're fond of Anya and Yor, respectively - people who are close to Twilight. Mind-reading powers in the hands of a child are one thing, but in the hands of a shrewd and power political figure...I'm both excited and anxious to find out what Donovan's next move will be!

One Grave Is All It Takes
[it's a little off from the prompts but my brain snails wouldn't let me sleep until I vomited this up. feel free to continue.]
-
The very first thing he smells is dirt. Wet, heavy dirt. The kind he remembers from his fight with Undergrowth and from trying to dig his own grave. The air is damp, making the smell nearly overwhelming. He can hear the faint rustle of dry skin rubbing against itself, just like bat wings, so was he in a cave? Underground? That's odd. Danny doesn't remember being near any caves.
There was also a weird buzzing sound. High pitched and electrical, similar to his parent's basement-
Danny's eyes snapped open, and he jolted upright. Fluorescent lights burned his eyes, making him contort his face in a silent snarl, but he didn't dare squint through the pain. His eyes were roaming, and his heart was beating harder than it had in a long time. Was he in a hospital? No, this must be a secret infirmary. The walls were rough and white, with three beds lined up against one side, and him in the first one. The main doors were shut but not locked, and another metal door opposite him had a sign that said SURGERY on it; Danny was a little glad he didn't wake up in there.
But when did the GIW catch him? The last thing he remembered was losing half his torso in a blast and dripping precious ectoplasm halfway across the Midwest before he...
Before he found a grave.
The burn in his eyes settled. Danny kept frantically glancing around. He wasn't restrained. He wasn't tied down at all. Danny was human, still in the clothes he'd put on this morning, sans his NASA shirt. Bandages were wrapped heavily around his lower torso; he must have grown back his organs already. There were a few medical machines hooked up to him, but nothing was actually stuck in his skin yet. One of them, he recognized, was a heart monitor.
Danny tore the tape and sensors off his chest without a thought, sending a pulse through the wires so the machine shut off completely. He hated hearing the slow beeping of his heart rate. The others started beeping frantically when he removed them, making an ache build in his head. Their machines were farther away, and he had to get up.
Right. Get up.
His eyes swam as he swung his legs over the side of the bed. When was the last time he ate? Both as a ghost and as a human? He can't remember what waffles tasted like. Danny had been pushing himself so hard the past few months, and with his injury, he was weaker than a newborn kitten. But he had to stop that incessant beeping, so he stood anyway, swaying a little and stumbling to power the machines off.
His well-earned silence didn't last for long.
The doors to the infirmary slammed open, startling Danny. An angry boy stormed through, his body language practically screaming his feelings to the world. Danny crouched as much as he could, snarling, ready for anything. If the GIW wanted a fight, he'd give them a fight. If this teen was another one of those stupid ghost-hunting kids they found off Craigslist, though, he might have to put the fear of God into a few people before he blasted his way out of the compound, taking the kid with him.
The boy stopped short at Danny's growl, nearly tripping himself. "Danyal!" He choked out, looking both pissed and devastated at the same time.
Danny paused.
He hadn't heard that name in a very long time.
He squinted at the boy. Aside from the naturally green eyes, shorter hair, and tanner skin, the teen before him looked exactly like Danny.
Oh, Clockwork is so getting an earful for this.
"D-" He tried to speak, but his throat was too dry, and Danny doubled over coughing. Damian, his twin brother, his baby brother whom he forced away, rushed forward to catch his body before he hit the floor. Danny collapsed into him, gasping for air. (Not that he needed it, but human habits were hard to break.)
"Danyal," Damian was on the verge of tears, which was so out of character; Danny dimly pondered at this being another clone or perhaps some cruel illusion his mind had made up in the face of True Death. But, no. Danny's core was practically singing as his brother held him, raising a bottle of water from the nightstand to his lips and helping Danny work through the coughing.
This was family. This was his brother. His twin.
Danny took a shuddering breath. "Damian," he breathed out. "How..."
"Don't speak; we only found you a few hours ago," Damian instructed. "You're malnourished and weak-"
"I know," Danny interrupted. He pulled away from Damian, reversing their roles as he gripped his brother's face with a desperate need to make sure this was real. Memorizing all the differences his brother had in their shared face so Danny didn't have to keep guessing. "How did you...no. I remember now. You made it out alive. You were saved; Mother kept her promise. Thank the Ancients."
"You're supposed to be dead, Danyal!" Now, tears were rolling down Damian's cheeks. Danny tried desperately wiping them away with his thumb, but it wasn't enough. "You gave up your life to make sure I lived, you pushed me away, you-"
"I'm supposed to be dead." Danny echoed softly. "And...I am, Dami. I am dead. I'm not supposed to be here, Dami. How did I get here? How did you find me?"
Damian sniffed. All his anger was gone now. "Your grave; I made you a grave. We made you a grave. I went out to change the flowers, and you were lying against the headstone."
"...Shit." Danny bit his lip. "Shit, I'm sorry, Dami," he cursed again as his thoughts caught up with him. Danny forced himself upright, Damian right behind him with hovering hands, obviously worried. He dug around in his pockets and thanked the Ancients that his pants were still on. He found a marker and scribbled his burner cell number on his brother's bare arm.
"Where are we exactly, Damian? And what was the timeframe from when you found me to now? How many people know I'm here?"
Damian stared at his twin, who seemed so frantic despite his calculating questions. "I found you at 6:57am, EST. It is now 2:34pm of the same day."
Danny raised an eyebrow but didn't look up. "EST? So this is still America?"
"Yes. We're currently in the Batcave under Gotham City."
That got Danny's attention. He whipped his head up, and Damian was faintly interested to see his brother's eyes glowing a toxic green. Just like Todd's did when he was in a Pit Rage, but somehow, Damian knew his big brother wouldn't hurt him if it came to that.
"NEW JERSEY?" Danny screeched. "FUCK! I gotta get farther than that! Shit, shit, shit! Damian, who else knows about me?? If this is the Batcave, does that mean Batman reported me already??? Ancients damn it all, where's my t-shirt?"
Damian snatched his brother's wrist, preventing him from pulling away. Danny's weakened state made it impossible for him to break the grip. "The only ones who know are our family," Damian stressed.
"Mother and Grandfather?? Damian, that's WORSE! I can't-"
"No! Not them!" he barked. "Father! And our many insufferable siblings he's picked up off the streets during his long reign as Batman. The League does not know you are here, Danyal. No one else outside the Manor knows. I promise on the stars."
Hearing their childhood promise made Danny slow down for a moment. "...Wait."
Damian waited.
"OUR DAD IS FUCKING BATMAN???"
---
DPxDC Prompt where when Damian has grown comfortable with the Waynes, settling into the household more firmly, he finally tells them about his late brother, Danyal.
With his family's help, he makes a proper grave for his twin on the Wayne Manor grounds, on a little hill with the best view of the night sky.
Hundreds of miles away in Amity Park, Illinois, Danny's core resonates, recognizing something he's lacked.
#dpxdc#no beta we die like danny#demon twin au#danny got half his body blasted away by the GIW and is on the run#his core got him as far as his grave before passing out#damian is distraught#assassins weren't taught to deal with their emotions well and while being robing certainly helped#he is so so so pissed at the world and with danny for danny's supposed death#but also all that grief he was trying to process just hit him in the face like a fish#the rest of the batfam are in the next room and letting damian be the first to talk to him#they already did dna testing#congrats bruce it's a boy#but also they are watching the infirmary cameras like it has the latest episode of a telenovela on it#they 100% see danny's reactions to everything damian is saying as well as the inhuman tendencies#jason thinks Danny is suppressing the pit madness so well because someone he cared for was there almost immediately upon waking up#and like#that kinda hurts#that could have been him with bruce#also i'm sorry i don't know when Damian found out that his dad was batman but i just think it'd be really really funny#if damian found out AFTER danny was gone so danny doesn't know the Al Ghul Family Tea#(my vision was that the boys were in a big accident and danny sacrificed himself so talia could save damian and damian never forgave that)#(just for some extra angst in there for them to work through as a family)

"Waking Up in Vegas"
Prologue, Chapter one:, Chapter 2,Chapter 3, Chapter 4:
ok guys! we're back and reader's hot girl summer has started! Sorry I was gonna put this chapter out earlier today but i've just been so busy today plus i'm cooking up a 3rd part for "older" I got my period AND i have a math test and english essay coming up. If some parts don't make sense, its on purpose. Reader is disoriented and drunk half the time, the days blur together for her. Lmk what yall think of readers hot girl summer and what you want/think will happen in the next chapter .Sorry for any mistakes! Comments, reblogs and ASKS make my dayyyy and encourage me.
Saint-Tropez wasn’t just a place, it was a playground, a haven for those who didn’t care about consequences or anyone else’s rules.
And you? Well, you were done with rules.
For the last two weeks, you’d been living like this, untouchable, free, and completely lying to your family.
You had told Bruce you were staying with Ariel and her father, which was true, for the first two days anyway.
Ariel's father is a busy man, he couldn't take 2 and a half months off work to babysit two 16 year olds who would do what they wanted anyway. As soon as he left, Ariel began calling your two other close friends, Claire and Rory. Together, all four of you were unstoppable at school though it was an unspoken rule that you and Ariel were the dynamic duo. All four of you stayed in Ariel's ocean front villa, relaxing, tanning, and just getting settled.
God, let's not even start on how drastically everything changed while you were at boarding school and the family found out Tiffany's true colors. They were all so.....protective now. You got calls everyday, from each of your 'siblings' separately, dozens of texts asking you what you ate, who you were with, and what you were doing. You didn't entertain them. The only person you replied to was Bruce, and that's only because you knew if he wanted to, he could call off this whole trip.
You didn't answer Tim's random, vague questions like, "Who's that on your story? Do you know them? Are you sure they're safe to be with?" He was asking about a simple sunset dinner picture you posted with Ariel, so you blocked him. He's way too nosy.
You didn't reply to the groupchat the girls, Barbra, Steph, and Cass added you in called "The girls!!"
What a creative name!
You left after you saw 'Tiffany was removed from this conversation'. Maybe you were being petty but they obviously had this chat before and didn't bother to add you to it before Tiffany was exposed. It was your turn to ignore them.
You definitely didn't reply to Damian's outright threatening messages that he sent almost every other day, they all sounded something along the lines of "You will regret this. You cannot simply leave and run away from your family. Come home or else."
He's such a strange little boy, he spoke and acted like an angry Victorian prince. He texted you like you were close before, like it wasn't him who pushed you away. You were coming back in two months and yet he acted like ran away and changed your name.
Jason, Bruce, and Dick were the most consistent and annoying, in that order exactly.
Jason texted you every morning at 8 and every night 11, like clockwork. His texts were daily updates what he was planning on doing that day, asking you the same, and reminding you that he's sorry and that he loves you. It tugged at your heart not to answer him, and sometimes, you gave in and you could feel the joy in his response when you replied. You and Jason's conversations went like this, on the odd occasion you replied,
"Good morning." - Jason
"How are you? No trouble in paradise I hope."- Jason
"My days gonna be pretty dull today, nothing much except patrol. Might go to that bookstore you used to like." - Jason
Your cold heart would melt when he said things like that and you would reply,
"awww! jason, thats so sweet." and follow with "I'm good!! how bout you??? staying out of trouble?"
Jason was your softest spot and he knew it.
Bruce texted you three times a day. Morning, afternoon, and evening. His messages were dry and authorative, demanding answers. He wanted to know who you were with, what you were doing, if you left the house, and if you were okay. The fatherly care and authority isn't something your used to, it was strange. You weren't sure if you felt cared for or suffocated. You answered Bruce once a day, your tone straight to the point, answering only what he asked, nothing more.
Dick is by far the worst. He texted you constantly, as if trying to make up for 11 years of not texting you at all. He texted you when he woke up, when he slept, when he ate, what he ate, and sent you pictures of everything. Once he sent you a picture of a tiny bird saying it reminded him of you. You nearly blocked him after that, the only reason you didn't was because you liked how desperate he was. Not long ago, it was you spamming him like that. Plus he can be funny most of the time. You don't even want to think of the constant selfies he sent. You only ever replied once.
Dick sent a selfie of him hanging with some of the Titans, you forgot why or what he said along with it, but you do remember seeing Connor Kent shirtless in the background. You giggled and showed Ariel how hot he is. You replied to Dick almost instantly hearting the picture, screen shotting it, and drawing a heart around Connor saying something like, "WHO DAT IN THE BACK????" and "Tell superboy to hmu".
Dick was not happy about that, that was the last group selfie he ever sent. He got more frequent with his texts after that. He must've snitched to Jason because not even five minutes after you got a text from him.
"Remember what I said. No boys, i'll kick his ass." - Jason
You ignored him of course.
The sun beat down in the south of France, but you were far from concerned with the blistering heat. Not when there was a private yacht at your disposal, a poolside filled with strangers and familiar faces alike, and the soundtrack of Drake keeping your pulse racing. You felt the vibration of your phone against your palm for the third time in ten minutes. Another text from Bruce. He was becoming more insistent you answer him the longer you were gone. It's only been two weeks! Another "where are you?" or "be careful." As if you were gonna listen. Or reply to him.
Bruce. The man who'd ignored you for the better part of your life, suddenly acting like a worried father because Tiffany, the perfect sister, had betrayed them all. Tiffany, the adopted daughter who had somehow replaced you in their world. Now, she was the enemy, the traitor, the spy, and she was gone. That meant you had all the freedom you could ever want.
The more you thought about Tiffany the angrier you got. She had everything. How many summers has she spent on yatchs partying? How many times has she blown thousands of Bruce's dollars? Why were you forgiving them so easily? Why were you even listening to him?
Just because he apologized and said he'd change?
Why should you forgive Jason so easily and respect his rules, he ignored you for years and replaced you with Tiffany. The more you drank, the more you thought and the angrier you got. Who do they think they are? You've always been too nice, too obedient, and they're still taking advantage of it. You'd show them, show them what its like to be ignored and forgotten and made fun of.
For the next two months, you were going to ignore them. Bruce and jason included. You've been too nice, too good these two weeks, your friends were begging to party but you didn't want to, you were scared of disappointing them.
You were so angry nothing changed in you that you finally caved and decided to do what Claire and Rory were doing, give your phone to a worker here and have them turn the location on and send updates to Bruce. You still used the same icloud so you could read their messages and make sure they weren't suspicous.
He'd think you were always at the villa or just going into town, they won't know what hit them.
You turn to Ariel and grin, "I'm free. What are we doing tonight?" You were done obeying their rules and living your life for them. Who knows when you'd be alone in Europe with your best friends again.
Ariel hopped off her chair and squealed, her dark skin glowing from the sun, she grabbed you and twirled you around, your giggles echoing through the yacht and drawing Claire and Rory's attention.
Ariel grinned and explained to Rory and Claire, "Little Miss good girl finally came to her senses and went M.I.A with her dad. Now we can finally party! Hot girl summer starts now."
All three girls start squealing and join Ariel in her celebration.
You rolled your eyes feeling guilty, "I told you, you could've gone without me!"
Ariel wrapped her arm around you, "Nonsense, it's not a party without you. Now, come on we gotta go shopping if we're going out tonight. It's lucky that we both have daddy's black cards. It's really lucky that they have Dior, Hermes, and YSL down the street."
You weren't sure how much you spent and the drinks kept you from feeling guilty. Bruce is like, a bajilionaire, what you spent won't make a dent.
Somehow, you ended up on an even bigger yacht filled with guys, in your brand new Dior bikini with a matching bag.
By the time night fell, the yacht was buzzing, the VIP lounge overrun by people who hadn’t even been invited. The bass was so loud you felt it in your bones. You didn’t care. You've never felt so alive.
Your new phone wasn't getting any messages except DMs, and the woman you hired confirming Bruce thought you were sound asleep in the villa.
You can practically taste the summer air as you step onto the deck of the boat, laughing with Ariel and your friends and the others you’ve met along the way. No one cares about where you’ve been, where you’re going, or who your family is.
As the DJ cranks up the volume, a cute guy with long blonde hair catches your eye. You wink at him and saunter over. This summer is all about freedom, and you’re ready for it. His hands are already on your waist, pulling you close, and suddenly you’re lost in the rhythm, spinning and laughing, his lips brushing against your ear.
The night wears on, you drink more, laugh louder, flirt harder. The yacht turns into a blur of lights, drinks, and music. As midnight rolls around, the party shows no signs of slowing. You could stay here forever, with no rules but your own.
But then it happens. You wake up in a completely different city.
London.
You’re sprawled on a plush couch in a ridiculously luxurious flat, a half-empty bottle of champagne next to you. The room smells like expensive perfume, and the decor is all sleek lines and minimalist chic. You sit up slowly, your head pounding from last night.
You sit up straighter, rubbing your eyes.You vaguely remember a private jet, but it’s all blurry. One moment, you were on the deck of the yacht, living it up, and the next, you're waking up in an entirely new country.
You look around the room in panic and spot Ariel sleeping on the couch and a random guy, butt naked on the floor next to her. You sigh in relief at Ariel being okay and the fact you weren't kidnapped.
There’s a knock at the room door, and when you answer, it's a random guy from last night, British accent, disheveled hair, wearing nothing but boxer shorts. He grins at you sheepishly. “Hey, you good?”
You, Ariel, the naked boy named Christian, and the Brit named Thomas, have breakfast and exchange stories of what you remember from last night. It was fun, but you and Ariel flew back to St. Tropez where a jealous Claire and a worried Rory were waiting.
Last night was fun, but it couldn't happen again. It was dangerous and if anything happened Bruce wouldn't know.
Except it did happen again, and again, all summer long.
The next weeks were a blur, Venice, Monaco, and Madrid, with stops in Dubai and Los Angeles along the way. Each city more vibrant and intoxicating than the last. Every place you went, you had the freedom to be whoever you wanted to be. There was always a fresh crop of people, and you reveled in not having to answer to anyone. No father, no brothers, no sisters, just you and your friends against the world.
You and Ariel lived your lives like you were gonna die tomorrow. You were unstoppable, no family, no rules, no responsibility. Your abilities weren't acting up at all, everything was perfect. Bruce and the family were off your back, being made to think you were at the villa all day.
The “No Boys Rule” was completely disregarded, though. It seemed that whenever you let your guard down for just a moment, you’d end up surrounded by someone new. Whether it was a guy from a club in Monaco or a guy you met on a private yacht in Venice, you were always finding someone new
Despite all the parties, the alcohol, and the private Instagram posts, and funny Tik Toks, there was still a growing sense that you weren’t living this life for you, you were living it for the rebellion, to spite Bruce.
It wasn’t just about freedom anymore. It was about finally being seen, even if that meant drifting away from everyone you once called family.
You only had one month left of absolute freedom, and you were gonna make the most of it. With Ariel, Rory, and Claire by your side, you partied in just about every city.
The final month of your wild European escapade had arrived, and things were only getting wilder.
The clock had no meaning anymore. Days and nights blended into each other as you danced from one city to the next, your world a whirlwind of music, champagne, and endless laughter. Ariel, Rory, and Claire had become your partners in crime, literally when you got arrested, but thats not important.
Each morning you woke up in a new place, groggy and confused, only to remember the night before—flashing lights, pounding beats, and the promise of more. Cannes, Monte Carlo, Paris, or Dubai, it didn’t matter. What mattered was the freedom you’d found in them, and in yourself. You were more than the neglected, ignored girl from Gotham; now, you were the life of the party.
there was always someone waiting to whisk you away to the next nightclub, the next gala, the next beach party where the world’s richest men tried to get your attention.
First, it was Paris. You could feel the eyes on you as soon as you entered the hotel lobby. The air smelled of expensive perfume, freshly polished marble, and the faintest trace of guilt, because in some corner of your mind, you could still hear Bruce’s voice echoing in your ears. But it quickly faded as the first private yacht rolled up to the dock. The deck was crowded with Parisian socialites and half-drunk billionaires, but it wasn’t about the crowd, it was about the feeling of being wanted. Being worshipped.
It was in Paris that you really started feeling the distance between you and the life you’d left behind. The champagne flowed easily, the laughter came effortlessly, but there was an ache you hadn’t anticipated. A pang that struck at the edges of your satisfaction, the kind you couldn’t drink away.
You thought about Bruce. His pleading words, his desperation, and how, for a moment, you almost felt sorry for him. But only for a moment. You couldn’t let him win. Couldn’t let them see that you’d needed them. Because that would mean giving up everything you had now, the freedom, the endless nights, the city hopping, the boys who adored you.
You let it all sink in, just for a second, how much control you had over them now. How much they wanted you back, how much they needed you back. It felt good, knowing that you could walk away and have them chase after you, like you used to chase them.
Maybe it was the brief, fleeting moments when you thought about Gotham, about Bruce, about your family, and how none of it felt real anymore. They’d played their games, ignored you, and now it was your turn.
Meanwhile, your phone was a constant buzz of messages. Tim had sent at least five texts, each one more urgent than the last. Jason called twice, his voice sharp and filled with that annoying overprotectiveness he just developed. And Bruce… well, Bruce sent you one long, pleading message, something about understanding, about giving him another chance, and answering his calls. You didn’t even bother reading it all. You didn’t need to. You didn’t care enough to respond.
You had no intention of being tied down by anyone, but when a French prince with dark, tousled hair and eyes that burned through your soul offered you a glass of champagne and a seat next to him, you took it.
You didn’t even have to look for him, he found you. He was the one with the perfect jawline, the one who could be a model if he wasn’t already a prince. His eyes, blue locked onto yours the second you entered the VIP area. A raised brow, a subtle smirk, and you knew that for tonight, he was yours.
You didn’t speak much. He didn’t ask questions, and that was the kind of energy you craved. A few words, some flirting, fleeting touches, and then you were in his Lambo, the leather seats smooth under your skin as the city sped by. He went as fast as you wanted, loving the thrill and impressed look in your eyes.
The thrill was intoxicating, the feeling of being someone else, someone free. The kind of person who didn’t have to answer to anyone. A few hours later, you were standing on a balcony, watching the sunrise, your lips tingling from the kiss he’d stolen.
Your mind was a haze of laughter and the aftertaste of expensive whiskey. The view of the French Riviera was far too beautiful to appreciate right now, and your thoughts wandered back to Gotham, to the family you’d abandoned, the ones who had never cared for you.
But as the days wore on, it was harder to ignore the hollow feeling creeping in. The message from Dick, the one where he told you that he loved you, stayed in your mind longer than it should have. You told yourself it didn’t matter. You didn’t owe him anything. But you couldn’t help but wonder, just for a second, what it would have been like if things were different.
You turned away from those thoughts quickly. You couldn’t afford to get attached. Not now. Not when you were on the verge of something bigger. The freedom you had now was everything you wanted. No one could take that from you.
You couldn’t let them control you. You wouldn’t let them.
You and Ariel were inseparable now, pulling Claire and Rory into your whirlwind of recklessness. You all had your roles, Ariel was the carefree partier, Claire the quiet one who always managed to keep ya'll out of trouble, and Rory was the one always ready with a camera and a new Tik Tok idea. You were the star, the one they all gravitated toward.
Each day was a new city, a new set of challenges, a new set of eyes who wanted to be close to you. You knew the game, knew how to play it. You knew how to keep them guessing, how to make them want you more.
So, you danced. You partied. You lived in the moment and let your life spiral further from Gotham’s grasp.
From there, it was off to the next city.
Las Vegas; Sin City, there was no place like it. You couldn’t even remember how you got there, your mind fuzzy with a mix of adrenaline and whatever was in that last glass of tequila. The strip was lit up like daylight, people everywhere, the air thick with smoke and the sound of slot machines ringing through the night.
You woke up in a penthouse suite that could have been mistaken for an entire floor of the Bellagio, the morning sunlight filtering through the floor-to-ceiling windows. And there he was, a prince. The same French prince, draped in a robe embroidered with gold thread, a fresh glass of mimosas on the table beside him. He was smirking, lounging on the couch like this was all part of his daily routine. You couldn’t even remember how you got to the suite. What had happened between the bar and now? You didn’t care.
He didn’t seem to care either, his hand casually tracing the rim of his glass, his eyes never leaving you. You laughed, feeling the surrealness of it all wash over you, the weight of your last 48 hours in Ibiza and Monaco still fresh on your skin. One minute, you were dancing at a celebrity’s secret after-party in Monaco, and the next, you were here, on the other side of the world with some mysterious prince who had probably already forgotten your name.
The rest of the night was spent taking private jet rides to exclusive clubs, partying with people whose names you couldn’t even pronounce, and waking up to the flashing lights of a casino floor. Vegas was the kind of place where everything felt fake, but that didn’t matter. You really are Brucie Wayne's daughter.
Next stop, Ibiza, the heart of Europe’s clubbing scene. Ariel and you slipped into the club, stepping past the velvet ropes like it was second nature. The security guard practically bowed as you walked by. The crowd parted for you, the clinking of champagne glasses and the hum of expensive conversations filling the air.
This was where you belonged. The heat of the island, the night that stretched into forever. You and Ariel danced on top of the table at Pacha, popping bottles like they were nothing, the music vibrating in your bones, the crowd chanting your name like you were the star of the show. It was your second night there, and you had already met a Spanish duke who was more interested in buying you a yacht than actually getting to know you. There was white powder everywhere, tempting you to try but you didn't give in. Who knows what could be in it. Your friends and most people at the club didn't share the same idea.
You just wanted to enjoy the view and keep the party going but you were worried, maybe this was too much.
“we’ve got to live for the moment,” Ariel grinned, taking a shot of something that made her eyes water. “Who cares if we’re in a foreign country surrounded by dangerous people? It’s the best kind of chaos. When else are we gonna do this?”
Somehow you ended up on a private yacht again, this time surrounded by Ibiza’s elite. You weren’t sure how many shots of tequila you’d had, but you knew that the man at your side had given you a diamond bracelet to match your dress. You accepted with a grin asking him to put it on for you, your hair wild, your makeup smudged from hours of dancing, but it didn’t matter. You were untouchable.
It was getting close to 3 AM, and the music hadn’t stopped. The drinks kept flowing, and the Duke’s yacht you somehow ended up on was finally leaving the dock. You couldn’t remember how you ended up on the boat, but you were there now, floating on a million-dollar boat with peopl you’d only seen on TV. One of the men from the night before was already making eye contact, his glass of sangria in hand.
It was hard to be shy in a setting like this. Rory, who’d never been afraid of attention, was deep in conversation with a couple of supermodels who were likely on their third or fourth drink. Claire was wrapped up in a flirtation with the duke who owned this yacht, and Arie was in her own world, laughing with a group of guys who were definitely not short on cash.
The next morning, you woke up on the yacht, the sun blazing over the Mediterranean. You stretched lazily, your body still buzzing from the night before, and found yourself face-to-face with the man from last night.
He smirked, “Care for another round?” he asked, his accent thick, the sound of the waves crashing against the boat providing an oddly peaceful background.
You laughed and agreed. It was all so easy, this life. This endless, carefree abandon. No rules, no family to answer to, no obligations. It was just you, your friends, and a bunch of gorgeous strangers who only saw you for the party girl you had become. And for now, that was enough.
Next, Monaco, the grandest of them all. You didn’t just go to Monaco, you ruled it. You, Ariel, Claire and Rory crashing the most exclusive gala in the world; rich industrialists, F1 drivers ,tech moguls, the faces that appeared on the front of every magazine. But to you, it was just another game to play. Every conversation was a carefully curated performance, everyone vying for your attention, for your approval.
The days blurred together. Each city more beautiful, each party more decadent than the last. Monaco was wild, filled with the world’s elite and their very bored children. The private yacht parties were nothing short of a movie set, jet skis, champagne, drugs, and the sun beating down relentlessly. The thrill of it all never left, and every night you found a new billionaire, actor, or race car driver to distract you. It wasn’t about them, not really, it was about keeping the power in your hands, it was about feeling good. Taking away the pain that came with your powers, fortunately, men were jumping into your bed.
You didn’t even have to try. One wink, one smile, and suddenly you were in a Bentley, whisked away to a private after-party in a hidden corner of Monaco’s coastline. The prince of some oil-rich kingdom was at your side, and the night was long, filled with laughter and stolen kisses under the stars. You didn’t care what his name was, where he came from, or who he was, he was just another prince who could buy you anything you wanted.
You met guy, almost as rich as Bruce, who you beat at poker, he was more than happy to throw a yacht party in your honor. The invitation was clear: “Come party with us. No rules. No limits.”
Ariel had already decided to make a game of seeing how many men she could flirt before sunset, while Rory was doing her usual thing, charming people with her wit. You, on the other hand, had become the center of attention, as if the whole event was designed around you. You couldn’t remember the last time you’d had a conversation that didn’t involve someone trying to buy you a drink, or a private island.
As the weeks stretched on, you could barely keep track of all the cities you had visited. You spent one night in Berlin, dancing until dawn in one of the city’s most infamous clubs. The next, you were in Milan, draped in designer clothing and laughing with the most influential fashion people in the world. Every day felt like a new chapter, filled with new people, new parties, and a new sense of power.
It was intoxicating. Everyone loved you here, you were the life of every party. You had so many friends, you'd never be alone again.
There was something so exhilarating about being surrounded by people who knew your last name, who were used to rubbing elbows with people like Bruce Wayne, but didn’t realize you were his daughter.
You felt it in your bones now, the distance between you and Gotham was growing wider. The weight of the past, the guilt that had once threatened to crush you, was nothing more than a distant memory. Each city, each new face, each new party was a reminder that you didn’t need them. You didn’t need anyone.
But deep down, something shifted. Maybe it was the late-night conversations with Ariel on the balcony of a villa in Santorini, the wine flowing freely as you discussed the future, her dreams, your dreams, how you’d never go back to the way things were. Maybe it was the quiet moments alone on the edge of some private infinity pool, staring out at a horizon that seemed endless and just… empty.
You didn’t know when you started to feel it, but you knew one thing for sure: when you finally did come back to Gotham, you weren’t going to be the same person who had left.
The Final Stop, St. Tropez. You did a full circle. Your last hurrah before you returned home, or where your family assumed you were all this time. The private beach parties, the yachts that lined the harbor, the whispers of billionaires in their private jets. You danced in the sand, surrounded by flashes from cameras and jealous glares from women who had no idea who you were, but wanted to be you all the same.
A private villa awaited you, and there, amidst the most extravagant décor, you found yourself facing yet another prince, yet another man eager to claim you as his own.
You turned to find a prince—probably from denmark—standing next to you. You immediately recognized his face from magazines. He was the one who was always pictured at galas with his equally famous family. He was beautiful, dark-haired and dangerous, with a body like chiseled stone. But the only thing you could think about was how long it would take before you got bored of him, before you moved on to the next.
His thick accented voice cut through your thoughts, "Well, if it isn't the infamous party girl." He smirked eyeing you up and down.
"Oh, so you've heard of me" You said smiling. You had no idea how he knew you, all your socials were private and theres no way you had mutual friends. You froze for a second, just how far has your reputation proceeded you, did Bruce hear?
You brushed the thought away as soon as it came, Bruce didn't exist. Not tonight, your last actual night of freedom. Not when you were boarding the flight to gotham after tomorrow.
"Hard not to. You've been everywhere. Paris, London, Ibiza, Monaco, Dubai, Vegas. You're practically the princess of Europe." He grinned leaning closer.
After two months you were finally starting to feel the rush of it all catching up to you. But for now? Who cared? You were a 16-year-old filled with confidence, chaos, and fun. The world was yours, and there was no one who could stop you, least of all, your father, who were still clueless about your whereabouts and secretly obsessing over your every move. You were too busy living in the moment to care about that.
You were officially the European Party Girl, the one everyone wanted to be friends with, the one they all wanted to take selfies with.
Ariel once called you a prince magnet, she wasn't wrong. You woke up next to him the next morning, his strong arms around your waist.
When you went back to Gotham, you weren’t just going to show up. You were going to treat them like they treated you all these years, you were going to laugh in their faces, ignore them like they ignored you.
As you and Ariel spent your last night together packing, you couldn't help but smile. In these two months with her, you lived more than you had in your entire life.
When you boarded the plane back to Gotham, you were different. You were someone new, someone who had tasted freedom and wasn’t sure if she could ever go back. The Waynes had no idea what was coming for them, but you were ready. The game had shifted, and you were about to play it all the way to the end.

Disparities Between Our Souls
Batfam x Neglected!Reader
Pairing: Reader x Miguel O'hara
Neglected!Reader who is transported into the ASTV universe and becomes a spider before being transported back to Gotham with their beloved
Idea -> Prologue
You were the oldest child of Bruce Wayne but came to the manor after Dick and Jason
You grew up with your aunt who took you in after your mother died soon your their birth
As time passed, your aunt's health worsened and she wasn't able to sustain both of you anymore
Searching through things to sell for money, she comes across a letter addressed to her from your mum, and in the letter she finds out that you are a child of Bruce Wayne
You get a blood test, it's positive and auntie decides to take her chances and send you off to live a better life as the child of a billionaire
At first it seems alright, not exactly the best but at least you had money and some company
You find out about the vigilantism a few months into their stay at the manor
Unfortunately, it's also a few nights before Jason's death and you are left to deal with overwhelming emotions alone after his death, especially when Barbara is soon found with her legs ruined by the same person who murdered your dear brother
When Tim comes you're pushed to the side even more as Bruce focuses on training him and Dick stays mostly at Bludhaven
Steph comes soon after him, but she wasn't really apart of the family and she always focused on proving herself to your father
Cassandra was introduced not long after, you wanted so badly to bond with her but with her inability to speak first few months, a language barrier was set between you two, and when that was eventually fixed, there simply weren't any opportunities to connect
Jason's return is unexpected and you want so badly to greet him with a hug, but you are pushed away
Damian is introduced and you can see the hate in his eyes as he explains that you're a liability to the family, unable to defend yourself should (when) a threat arise
You want to move out of this manor, clearly you were not welcome here anymore, but even though you were the child of Bruce Wayne, you yourself were not rich and finding a safe apartment or house in Gotham would cost you a fortune
Most of their funds also went to support their auntie as wellInstead, they opt to stay in their room at all times, moving with the shadows within the mansion, anything to stay away from their family's sights
During all this, your auntie is left with an illusion of you living a happy life
On a normal night, you wake up to excruciating pain in your arm and your body as heavy as lead
You can do nothing as heat overtakes your body, your vision is blurry and your breaths are short and quick
You think you see a colourful circle that looked oddly like a portal in the corner of their eye, but you couldn't tell if that was your mind was deceiving you
You didn't have time to decide as you passed out soon after
5 years later
You swing around the spider HQ to your darling’s office, food in hand
“Miguel, I have food for us”
You two were enjoying you food when an unknown and strange portal opened near them, you thought it looked familiar but you couldn't place your finger on it
Miguel put his hand in front of you, shielding you from whatever could come out of the portal
But instead of something or someone coming out, you two were sucked into it instead and dropped off into another world, presumably
The place you were dropped was dark, gloomy, rainy and oh-so familiar
You turned to your partner, pulling your mask over your head and urging him to do the same
“We have to get home. We cant stay here.”
Relationships and Ages (Pre-time skip)
Bruce (TBD)
His neglect for you was not intentional, but when he has a city to save at night, and basically run at day, there isn't much time to spare
Especially when he has to focus on training the other children so they don't harm themselves in the field of vigilantism
He loves you, he does, but he has to focus on what is more important
Dick (23)
Perhaps if you were introduced earlier, you two would've been closer, but unfortunately, you didn't, you came when he moved to Bludhaven, when he was focused on making a name for himself other than "Batman's Robin"
He has no major feelings for you, you are his older sibling and that's it
Jason (20)
You two were close when he was Robin, to him, you were the perfect older sibling, someone he could rely on
The only qualm he had was that he had to keep the vigilantism a secret from you, there were so many times he had almost spilled the secret out when he was talking to you
After his death, he still loved you, but he was afraid to see your reaction when you finally saw him
To him, you were innocent, a civilian needed to be far away from the crime lord, Red Hood, as far as possible to keep you safe
If only he knew how much damage he had done by doing that
Tim (18)
You didn't really get to bond
With Tim busy training as Robin then it turning to solving cases, he was spread thin
His free time was mostly spent napping anywhere he could, and that often meant you had no time to spend together
You two had no strong relations to each other, but you did admire Tim for his wits sometimes
Damian (10)
He was excited at first, to have somebody also be the blood-child of Bruce Wayne, but when he saw you, he was utterly disappointed
To him, his harsh words to you was him preparing you for the real world
Perhaps he still had hope for you, but for now he couldn't understand anything but hatred
Duke (16)
At the time of your disappearance, he wasn't introduced to the family yet
However, he knows of your existence due to the news
Babs (24)
You two were friends before, being the same age and all
But she soon became too busy with business of Oracle to focus on your friendship
Perhaps you two could rekindle that friendship, but for now there's barely any feelings held towards each other
Steph (19)
You two never really had time to bond, as said before she was just too busy with other stuff like her father and proving herself
If given the opportunities, you two could probably be close friends, but sadly you two weren't
Cass (20)
Your only sister in the family, you had hope that you two would be close, but with the language barrier it was hard to do so
When you were taken away, you two were forming a friendship, although it was definitely in the early stages, it was there and it was blooming
Alfred (Idek)
He was there sometimes and he wasn't there other times
He was busy working behind the scenes and keeping the manor clean
But when he was cooking, you would sometimes join him and it'd be a quiet, almost silent, bonding time
Wow this ended up being way longer than I thought
Ironically enough, as I was editing this, the fanfic/ao3 curse hit me and I almost got into a car crash. We are all good tho, no one got hurt and the cars are mostly fine!
Please let me know your thoughts! I'm not sure if I'll actually write this since my motivation comes and goes but if there's someone out there who really wants me to, I might continue it
Btw Bruce is older than canon, so pls don't think he had reader as a teen 😭, I swear he was at least 18. Speaking of ages, they aren't really important, they are just mostly there as my guidance in writing should I ever need them
Most of my DC/Batfam knowledge comes from fanon stuff so if they're ooc or they aren't that well written, my apologies. You're welcome to point any mistakes out and I'll try to fix it <3
If you can tell that I don't know the batgirls that well, I apologise again
This is my first time posting an actual story on tumblr so pls go easy in me
Have a great day/night <3
Edit - Fixed minor spelling mistakes

Heyyyyy how are ya 😼 I have an idea for angst (Although this has already been done by many authors but I'm curious see how you approach this kind of like concept)
"Neglected... Batsis.... Reader..."
(this is totally not me just manifesting for more neglected batsia content)

Hotdog. Dog that's hot. Oblong tube of meat that sits on a bun. As long as you're okay with it not being Yandere, I'll give almost anything a shot.
Lonely in a Crowded Room
Platonic!Batfamily x Daughter!Reader
Content warnings: emotional neglect, isolation, hyper-independence as a coping mechanism
Masterlist is Here!
Your family loves you.
Your family does not have time for you.
Both of these things are true at the same time.
Your mother had abandoned you at the gates of the Wayne manor when you were an infant, leaving nothing but a note telling Bruce your name, her name, and that you were his biological daughter. After taking another DNA test for himself to be sure, Bruce accepted his role as your father and took you in.
Sometimes you wonder how different your life would be if he'd just admitted he didn't have the time to raise you and left you at an orphanage, where another couple looking to care for a child could devote their energy to you instead. You wonder if you'd be better off than you are now.
The thing is, nothing is really wrong. You're clothed, fed, sheltered, and if there's an emergency you are swiftly taken care of. You just don't have any kind of connection to your family.
Bruce gave it his best effort when you were a baby, when you needed more attention. Batman patrolled less often in the night whenever you had a bad time staying asleep. He bottle fed you, he read you bedtime stories, and he would bring you to Wayne Tower with him sometimes and keep you busy with toys while he worked. As you grew older, however, and started developing a sense of independence, that easy attention got harder and harder to get. Suddenly he was needed for a case, or there was an event Bruce Wayne needed to make an appearance at, or one of your brothers needed his insight during investigations of their own.
And, well, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of one. You learned to share his attention, choosing to be the polite daughter that could learn to fix her own problems, and eventually that meant to Bruce that you didn't need attention at all. You couldn't ever find the courage to correct him, to ask him to make space for you. So, still seeking emotional fulfillment, you tried to turn to your brothers instead.
Dick was unfailingly kind. He'd even remarked once that he always wanted a little sister, which was nice. But he was an adult by the time you entered the picture. He had his own life outside of the Manor, living in Blüdhaven and patrolling as Nightwing and maintaining a day job for the BPD. His already limited free time was spent for himself, chasing downtime he often desperately needed, and you didn't want to make him give that up for you.
Jason didn't come around the Manor as a rule. He had bad blood with your dad, and while he didn't explicitly take it out on you, unfortunately you live with Bruce, and so he just wasn't around enough for you to form any solid attachment. Plus, he's clearly got his own stuff going on, and likely doesn't have the time nor will to get to know you. You haven't tried to reach out and neither has he, which is enough of an answer about how he feels in regards to having a little sister.
Tim was kind of like Bruce. He had far too many prior engagements and duties to fulfill, from acting as current CEO of both Wayne Enterprises and Drake Industries, to moonlighting as Red Robin, to attending college and working on his degree. He'd give you a sweet smile and gently ruffle your hair if he caught you in passing, but then he had to focus on the rest of his daily goings on. Trying to catch Tim to talk was like trying to hold water in a cracked cup. He just slips right by you.
And Damian... Damian did not particularly like you. At least, not at first. He came into the picture a couple years after you were dropped off at the Manor. You suspect he felt threatened about there being another blood-relative in the house, and made every attempt to communicate to you that he wasn't happy with your presence. But, as you grew older, when the topic of secret identities and their nighttime work came up, you surprised everyone by showing no interest in taking up the mantle. You did not want to be Robin, or a bat of any kind for that matter, and that seemed to really mellow your brother out. His perceived competition wasn't even competing, and his hostility was for naught.
Now, he doesn't really give you the time of day. It took a while for you to understand that it wasn't malicious anymore. You know now that he's ashamed of his prior actions and doesn't know how to make amends. You've tried to bridge that gap for him, make it easier by showing that you hold no ill will, but either his pride or his stubbornness refuse to take the olive branch you're practically dropping in his lap.
So, you can't get emotional fulfillment from your dad or any of your older brothers. If you can't go to them, maybe you can turn to Alfred. He was a patriarchal figure, always tending to one thing or another and looking after Bruce and his sons after patrol. He didn't patrol himself, so maybe he'd have the time to spend with you.
And he did! He sure did. It just...wasn't quite what you wanted. Alfred was a former British Intelligence operative, and raised Bruce under the complicated duality of both a guardian and a commanding officer. He obviously knew how to talk to you like a normal civilian, because that's what you are, but it was overly formal. He was holding you at arm's length because he didn't know how to relate to you. You were familiar strangers, at best, and you felt that's all you'd ever be despite your best efforts.
So. No one is cruel to you. They are kind, they smile, they ask you how you're doing and genuinely seem to care about the answer. That's not the problem.
You know your family loves you.
You know your family does not have time for you.
Both of these things are true.
You just wish you weren't so terribly lonely.

Hello, again 🤗
Back to request Damian headcanons with a competitive! reader who CAN put their money where their mouth is in a 'anything you can do I can do better' type of way? Also, some NSFW? Please?
-😇 anon
You got it angel 😁
Anything You Can Do.
Damian Wayne NSFW Hc's
(All characters I write are 18+)
It started off with small things.
The bickering back and fourth.
The constant one upping each other.
No matter what you did, he had to do better. And you were the same.
Damian Wayne wasn't entirely used to someone actually being able to beat him in something. Becoming your boyfriend was probably the best thing that happened to him.
He finally had someone who could put their money where their mouth Is.
And it escalated into more Intimate aspects of your life.
How many times you could make him cum. Then he'd have to one up you next time.
It didn't happen a lot, and Damian hadn't even noticed it, you sure as he'll didn't.
Didn't notice him mutter under his breath numbers, which went up after every time he made you fall apart around his fingers.
It went on like this for a little while. Obviously you had your challenges in your day to day life.
"I bet I can arrest more goons than you tonight."
"Oh yeah? Well why don't you put that to the test beloved?"
And when he beat you.
You'd push him into the nearest concealed corner, yank down his Robin tights, and he'd be panting, gripping the brick wall or your hair as you gave him the best earth shattering blow job off his life.
After that, you definitely noticed your little one upping challenges enter your sex life.
"Oh my beloved, I'm gunna make you cum so hard- you'll be shaking-"
"I bet I can make you cum harder-"
"Oh you little shit-"
Yeah...
You and Damian would lay beside each other after every wild night.
Staring at the ceiling...
"Beloved?"
"Yes Dami?"
"Are we too competitive?"
Silence for a few seconds as you and Damian share a look... then burst into laughter, smiling brightly, your grin contagious as he leans over and kisses you, the gesture filled with love and admiration...
"Hey Dami?"
"Yes my lover?"
"I bet-"
"Oh not again-"

Doctor! Male! Reader X Batfam ( part1, part2, part3, part4..)
----------------------------------------------------
Part 2
When Damian finds out he has a brother... a half-brother... and that his brother is older than him, he feels threatened. Why is he threatened? For two reasons. The first is that his position as Robin might be stolen, and the second is that his father will pay more attention to his older brother... and he's not proud to call him his brother. So the day after Bruce visits the hospital where Y/N works, Damian decides to observe and test his new brother. Is he strong? Is he smart? How many villains has he fought? Does he have a sad past? That's what Damian will discover.
In the evening before midnight, Y/N was roaming the hospital corridors, making sure the kids returned to his office where he was sleeping. Since Gotham never sleeps, that means a lot of emergencies, a lot of injured people, and a lot of busy doctors. So the best solution for Y/N is to sleep in his office instead of going to his apartment and returning to the hospital in case of an emergency. So when Y/N opened the door to his office, he let out a cry of fear when he saw little Robin searching through his things with papers scattered everywhere. Y/N looked at Robin who didn’t care about Y/N’s presence and continued searching. Y/N remained silent for a moment trying to understand what was going on. “You… Robin?”
"Yes... you are doctor Y/N Wayne?" Robin said when he sat on the Y/N seat after giving up from find anything except the lollipops.
Y/n looked at little Robin in confusion "How I can help you, little Robin?"
"Don't call me little! I'm not a little!" Y/N had a wry smile on his face After seeing little Robin's reaction.
"Oh?... then... tiny Robin?" Damian's face turned red with anger.
"I'm not a tiny!!" Y/N burst out laughing as he pointed his finger up and down at Damian.
Damian's dignity as Robin was at stake from Y/N's laughing so he jumped out of the chair trying to grab Y/N who ran away into the empty hallways with little Robin chasing after him.
"And I thought the Robins can fly!" Y/N said as he continued to run away from little Robin until he reached the back garden of the hospital.
Y/N is used to running away, after all he is a doctor who took care of Gotham's homeless children. But the person he's running from isn't just any ordinary kid in Gotham, it's Batman's son Robin. Damian jumps over Y/N and Y/N falls face down on the ground.
"I got you! You won't escape me! Now take back what you said!" Little Robin said as he put his weight on top of the helpless Y/N beneath him.
Y/N grabbed his poor nose and said in a written voice "I've said a lot in my life, so I don't know what I'm supposed to take back."
"You definitely know! Take back everything you said about me! Now!" Little Robin said impatiently. While Y/N smiled broadly.
"Okay, okay, I will take my words back.... Robin isn't strong... happy?" Y/N moved his head slightly to see Little Robin's expression and smiled in satisfaction when he saw Little Robin's teeth chattering in anger, but he was surprised when Robin got up from above him and walked away from him.
"You are not worth my precious time." Little Robin said surprisingly calmly.
Y/N laughed as he got up from the ground and cleaned his clothes from the fall in the garden. "aww, i pull my words back, Robins is so cute."
Robin turned to Y/N angrily but eventually sighed and walked back into the hospital to Y/N's office. Y/N happily followed him, "So, little Robin, tell me why you were in my office earlier? Am I a criminal? Could it be that I'm a sleepwalker? Oh my god that's creepy."
Damian mumbled incomprehensible words in Arabic in annoyance as Y/N chattered over his head. When they arrived at Y/N's office, Y/N sat in his chair tiredly, the chase between him and Damian was fun but tiring.
" I came here because I want to know about you, how strong you are and what your weakness is..." Y/N looked at little Robin in surprise. About him? His strength? His weakness? What?
"Ahh... I don't understand what do you mean, little Robin, but here all I can give is that." Y/N handed little Robin a strawberry lollipop. Damian looked at the lollipop in disbelief, Really? Is he a child to Y/N?
"I don't want it.." Damian looked at Y/N angrily. “I want you to tell me about yourself! What is your use in life! Prove yourself!”
"huh?... well, I'm a doctor?.. is that satisfying you?" Damian almost screamed in frustration as he felt his mind tear apart with anger and resignation. As he tried to calm himself down, Y/N unwrapped the lollipop and placed it in Robin's little mouth who was surprised by the gesture. But he gave in and kept it in his mouth. "you are annoying."
"I know that" Y/N winked at Damian In enjoyment. "I like your company, little Robin, but you have to go home now. It's the middle of the night and I want to sleep."
Little Robin looked at Y/N for a few moments before turning and walking to the window to leave. "I will back. And I will find about you.." With these words, little Robin disappeared as Y/N laid his head on his desk to sleep with a smile on his face.
♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤
"So, Robin? What did you find?" Bruce said in a hoarse voice from exhaustion as he searched the bat's computer for a new case.
"Nothing interesting, he is boring, just a doctor... annoying doctor.." Damian groaned as he remembered the nickname Y/N had given him... Little Robin.
Bruce looked at his son with a raised eyebrow. "I didn't know you liked lollipops.." before Bruce could continue Damian ran inside the manor. Bruce sighed and then turned his focus back to the computer in front of him. "Kids are weird... but do I look old?"

That was funny 🤣🤣 we are at the beginning of making Damian a real yandere!

Young and beautiful ~
'The sun compliments him so well,' you think to yourself.
You're left in your little world, chin placed on the palm of your hand as it propped up against the table. He had a small desk in his room that was supposed to be used for studying, but he never used it unless you needed help with a subject. That's why you're with him in the library of his home. He is supposed to be helping you study for an upcoming history test, but his good looks have been nothing but distracting. With the way his skin glows so beautifully under the sunlight that shines through his bedroom window and the way his green eyes shine a diffrent green color when the bright light hits them. You get a good look everytime he turns to look your way.
“Are you listening?” His voice is soft, and he doesn’t dare take his eyes off the book you’re supposed to be using. He doesn’t know why the sudden question slips past his lips when he already knows the answer.
“No” you answer honestly watching the way his eyes close and the annoyed noise that comes from his mouth.
“Beloved…” it’s said almost like a warning. You let out a sigh.
“I know….but I can’t help it, Y'know?” Your head is tilted downward to get a good look from under the stands of hair that has fallen over his face You huff, arm reaching out to push back the strands of his black hair out of his face. "You're so beautiful I'm jealous"
"don't say such nonsense," he scoffs, eyes staring into yours-ones filled with nothing but love and adoration. He brings his hand up to yours "out of the both of us beloved.....I believe you are the most beautiful"
Damian kisses the palm of your hand, the sudden action makes your skin go warm.
"Please." now it's your turn to scoff as you roll your eyes "You're only saying that because you're my boyfriend"
"I'm telling you because you need to hear it. I truly adore your beauty"
You shake your head as you pull your hand from his grip and shove his shoulder playfully. "Don't try to flatter me now. This conversation was supposed to be about you!" you laugh. "seriously, the gods have blessed you with good looks!"
"Well, if my looks are a distraction, maybe we should find you a new tutor. Maybe Drake can help you?" he makes a suggestion to which you quickly decline.
"Please, not him. That poor man is so sleep-deprived he forgets what subject he's supposed to be helping me. Last time, he was explaining the difference between Northern and Italian Renaissance when I needed help with math:"
Damian lets out a sigh. "well then pay attantion and stop staring at my face. Last option is putting a bag over my head and I doubt you dont want that to happen, Do you beloved?"
"No...."

What is each of the batfam members approach as a tutor to a student/hero trainee?
Dick: locks them in jail for a few weeks (so they know what it's like and won't abuse their power by throwing people in left and right)
Jason: makes them deliver birthday presents to late henchmen's children (people are multifaceted, action have a ripple effect, and taking lives should only be the very last resort)
Tim: hosts a trivia night where he asks them questions about an anime that doesn't exist (to test whether they lie their way through or admit they don't know)
Damian: asks them to assist him, criticizes them when they do, and repeat (being a hero can be a thankless job but they have to brush it off and do it all over again)
Duke: makes them read a book at a concert and quizzes them after (vigilantes are surrounded by distractions and need a laser focus)
Cullen: makes them beta-read a bunch of bad Wattpad fanfics (desk work is tedious but just as important as fieldwork)
Stephanie: sticks them in a customer service job for a month (they have to deal with all manner of civilians while maintaining a positive image)
Cassandra: sets a trash can on fire, bursts a water pipe, and releases a bunch of rats (multiple things can happen suddenly and they have to know how to triage)
Barbara: makes them watch a movie marathon that keeps buffering (investigative work is a lot of waiting around and seeing what happens)
Harper: has them fix a car with the wrong instruction manual (what's being ordered isn't always what needs to be done)
Carrie: hires a bunch of actors for a giant game of Where's Waldo (attention to detail in a fast-paced environment)
Kate: offers a sparring session as an outlet for pent-up emotions (they pass the test if they don't take her up on it—vigilantes shouldn't be fighting for personal catharsis)
Helena: invites them to a formal vigilante job interview but keeps rescheduling (until they assert themselves and establish clear boundaries)
Luke: invites them to the Wayne Enterprises lab and spills a beaker of vinegar without stating what it is (understanding emergency protocol and facilitating effective communication)
Bette: gives them a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle but puts the last piece in a locked box (she'll give them the key—they just need to ask her for help)
Alfred: makes them organize files in the Batcave while something is going down on the field (they can't always be there and have to compartmentalize)
Selina: volunteers them to clean up after a three-day music festival (crime scenes are gross and they need a strong stomach)
Bruce: plans a last-minute dinner party and puts them in charge of the kitchen staff (taking leadership and knowing how to delegate)

asks 2.
context.
here are some more asks i'm replying to in a bulk about phineas and ferb reader!!
my favorite part in dc. vs vampires is when reader comes together with damian and damian to build a silly machine that un-vampifies people in like half a day so they can defeat the vampire king. it is canon.
@amethystjellyfish
perry really is reader's number #1 stan. they're his family, reader's had him since he was a small platypus baby!
he does his best to keep reader safe, which is why he doesn't like the batfam much. he keeps it professional on the rare occasions they go on missions together, but that's it. he hates how dismissive of reader they are in the beginning, and he hates them later on when they star showering them with attention because they found out about their inventions.
not tired, anon! i love seeing people enjoy my concepts and interact with them!! ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
and i'm sure this has happened. more than once, actually. the power of coincidence is strong with reader. the life-saving laser beam comes from a situation involving reader's latest machine they built and tested with the help of jon.
unfortunately, one of his lasers richochets on the machine during testing, not only causing it to save batfamily's life, caught in a dangerous situation in a completely different location, but also destroys the machine so there's nothing to link it to reader.
ah, well. they'll just have to keep looking.
reader, seeing them run past her: oh! there's perry :)
i love how we have established tim is terrified of this platypus. nevermind the other pets in the manor, it's the platypus with its googly eyes that drives him insane. they don't get it, he got up to drink water at 3 a.m. and the thing was just there, looking at him. menacingly.
jason would though. meanwhile, perry is wishing he could just go back to metropolis. he didn't have to deal with reader's siblings in metropolis. he doesn't get enough hazard pay for this.
hm... good question!
i like to think that, much like with phineas and ferb, luck is on reader's side most of the time, so i don't see reader getting injured by their own inventions.
but, let's suppose they do: it's a nice sunday afternoon, the batfam has decided to gather around the living room and hang out, watch a movie, lots of popcorn and soda. they don't have to think about criminals or fighting, tim and damian are bickering, jason is around, peace reigns the manor.
until they hear an explosion. they run to the garage only to find reader on the floor, unconscious, bleeding, and an assortment of destroyed metal components to a machine they can't decipher. damian doesn't even feel good about reader finally being busted.
later, when reader is back home, awake and out of risk but with a bandage around their head and their leg in a cast, they're in for the biggest (and probably first) scolding of their entire lives. reader tries to play it off. it wasn't that big of a deal, they're fine, aren't they? and they're genuinely optimistic about it. but the entire family is talking over each other at first, until bruce signals for everyone to shut up and leave the room. he has a very serious talk with reader, and makes it very clear they're not to come near a toolbox ever again.
but he understands. it's partly his fault for not being attentive. he won't make that mistake again.
ofc reader is really upset. dick comes next, then stephanie, then cass, then duke, then barbara and they all try to convince reader in a much more amiable tone that hey, it's fine. who needs to do all that whacky stuff to have fun? just hang out with us. they can get another hobby, and this time they can make it a family thing! how's that sound? not fun? don't be like that... they're sure reader will come around.
tim is pretty much the only one who congratulates them for being awesome pulling all those stunts, one per day, it's impressive. but now it's time to step back a bit. who knows? try being careful and bruce will let you work with a welding tool again. one day. maybe.
damian and jason's reactions are more similar to bruce's. in other circumstances, damian is on reader's side and helps them sneak around to continue their shenanigans, but in the case of reader getting hurt he just wants them to not do that. any of that. ever again. and jason has to hold himself back not to snap and ask them what the hell were they thinking?! they could have died! he ends up just telling them to quit it. they're just a kid who shouldn't be messing around with that sort of stuff.
anon, i wouldn't go as far as say he'd use venom against them, but he's bit batfam before. as stated, he does not dig their vibe at all!
anon, that's a great idea! though i think p&f! reader is much too motivated by the creative process and experience that their inventions bring more than just willing them to come to life.
they have the power to create whatever they want, but what's the fun of it? what about hte process? the building? the friends they make along the way? the memories? i think reader would find the ring awesome at first, but the novelty would wear of in less than a week.
anon...
because i dig the idea of reader being friends with dipper and mabel. reader talks about their crazy inventions, and loves hearing about all the cryptids they came across during vacation.
reader invites the twins to the manor, they share their most recent summer memories. reader talks about that one time they built and drove a massive monster truck with their brother damian, but jason only comes into the room in time to hear about dipper and mable talk about the weirdmaggedon. he has several question marks around his head. aren't those kids a a little too old to be making shit up? or maybe... no, there's no way. or is there? no... he would have heard about this... but weirder things have happened. but what if...
@randomlyappearingartist
you are so right. to be honest, i don't even think the batfam would even know of his existence, since he's pretty much a very minor villain acting in metropolis. after perry joins the league, or in the rare occasion of dr. doof teaming up with another minor gotham villian like condiment man, is when they get to know he exists.
and since perry seems to have him under control, they don't even acknowledge the guy.
i love love love this sm!
they assume it's just flash mobs. it's got to be. flash mobs with really weird themes, like an entire musical number dedicated to the squirrels in damian's pants. that was strange. bruce patrolling in the middle of the night and this new crime lord just burst into a song with a band and hired back dancers, because it's apparently a new trend a minor villain in metropolis started.
and what about that one time dick took damian (and reader) to the library and some guy just started singing about how he doesn't have rhythm? and damian just started playing a trumpet? and reader started singing? i mean, it was a bop and he started dancing, but it was weird anyway.
but now i'm thinking of damian and reader singing the "summer" song together (he sings the "it's noticeably warmer" and that's it) though! wholesome.
@lazyandannoyng
not annoying at all! you're good ⸜(˙꒳˙ )
i have this little idea in my head that reader doesn't take the wayne name when find out bruce is their dad and move to gotham, and bruce is pretty secretive about this new kid of his for purely privacy and safety reasons. so when reader does their networking, it's often not obvious they're a wayne. not sure if this will make it into the fic, but it really resonates with this concept!
it's also funny to think that a lot of people don't even know reader and the waynes are related. even if they do know reader is related to the batfam, nobody really talks about them by name (just "your sibling"), and all of those little details like never asking about where the gloves came from (because why would he) or the misunderstandings where one party means one thing and the other assumes it's another (dick has many siblings! too many!) just end up helping reader not get caught. and i just think that's neat.

Tim with hannaki disease
spending his childhood choking on flowers
Barely able to breathe rejection after rejection
Jason is attacking him at the tower and he can’t stop coughing out flowers
when dick gives Damian Robin, Tim leaves the cave spitting out petals
imagine if he died of suffocation during the Bruce quest
Fuck. I love hanahaki disease.
Tw: death, blood, asphyxiation, fictional disease, dead body description, gore
For those of y'all unaware, it's a completely fictional disease where having unrequited love results in the person growing flowers in their chest. It's usually romantic, but I prefer the platonic versons (especially child-parent angst, holy fuck).
I've seen two types of hanahaki:
The love is actually unrequited
The person only perceives the love as being unrequited
Either way, the progression is as follows:
Person coughs up one petal
They start coughing up more and usually blood
They cough up an entire blossom
They die trying to cough up the entire flower (blossom and stem)
There are four outcomes to hanahaki disease, depending on what rules you are working with:
Love becomes requited
Person dies
They have a surgery to remove their ability to have feelings
They lose (voluntarily or not) their memories about their unrequited love
Some people play with flower meanings of the petals being coughed up. I fucking love those versions so much.
Let's get into the AU! The timeline is mine to fuck around with, so excuse any non-canon progressions.
~~~~
Tim has chronic hanahaki disease from his parents. They visit often enough to quell the worst symptoms and mitigate the damage, but they don't stick around enough (or show enough constant attention) for the petals to go away.
Janet once asked Tim if he'd like to get the surgery. Tim said no. Janet respected that choice and never asked again even though Tim was like nine at the time. It also becomes a fear of his. He wakes up in cold sweat at the phantom idea of just not being able to love anyone. It terrifies him, even if the feeling of asphyxiation is the only other option.
When Janet dies and Tim becomes Robin, he does his best to hide his condition from Bruce. It worsens, from the way Tim adores and loves the Bats, but Tim manages.
It's a rough few years, but slowly, the ice begins to melt. The Waynes show Tim more and more affection. YJ also shower him in so much care to the point that Tim has days of uninterrupted breathing.
It's a novel but welcome feeling.
Jack waking up from the coma complicates shit. His condition worsens again, but it's manageable.
Until Tim's sixteenth birthday.
The teen will never admit, but that test nearly fucking killed him. Bruce never finds out how close he was to killing his Robin, but Tim knows. He'll never forget how thorns scraped along his throat at the idea that he can't trust anyone. He'll never rid himself of the intimate knowledge of how blossoms taste in his mouth and the sickly sweet smell of blood mixed with flower petals.
Tim has to quit Robin, for his safety, health, and as a "fuck you" to Bruce, but realizes he can't keep in contact with Dick, Alfred, or Barbara without it. He can't contact his team.
He has to go back, so he does.
Tim's not sure if it's better or worse that Bruce didn't know about the hanahaki. If the man did, would he still have done the test? Due to him never showing remorse or guilt for his actions, the teen doesn't know.
The question pesters him even when his dad finds out about Robin.
It plagues him through Steph becoming Robin and dying.
It festers into his bones when, while wearing those same damn colors, he hears his father die.
That is one or many reasons "Uncle Eddie" was created.
Tim can't quite trust Bruce, but he finds himself still loving the father-like figure in his life. He finds himself forgiving him. He leans into the hair ruffles, shoulder pats, and gruff words of affection. He lets himself be loved.
Then, an undead asshole in a gleaming red bucket comes to kick Tim's ass. The teen can't help but laugh at the way his life bounces between breathing and dying at the drop of a hat.
He's just barely able to hide the flowers from both Red Hood and the Titans.
A little assassin appears, and each attack brings a petal.
Each new death hampers Tim's ability to breathe. Tim tries, but it's so fucking hard. How is he supposed to live without them?
With the ticklish scrape of petals, Tim doesn't think he's supposed to.
Bruce isn't dead. Tim knows, with every fiber of his being, that Bruce can't be dead. Tim won't survive if he is.
Even if Tim loses everything, even if these damn fucking flowers consume him, at least his death will have a purpose.
That's what he tells himself as he lies in a pool of blood beneath the stars. The sand at his back is soft in comparison to the stem piercing his throat and tongue. The sound of his choking is joined by the bubbling wheezing of Pru.
Ra's peers down at the body already set with rigor mortis. Tim's jaw is pried apart by a bouquet of yellow carnations dripping in blood.
The demon head hums at the sight, a dangerous gleam to his eyes. With the flick of a hand, two assassins grab the young detective's corpse. The other three bodies are taken as well.
Tim's eyes fling open as the teen gasps for air.
It's wrong. It's wrong. It's all wrong. He's empty.
He's surrounded in green.
Oh fuck.
For awhile, Tim just soaks in the soft expansion of his lungs. He marvels at their capability.
He can't remember a time when he's been able to breathe so easily. It's enchanting and allots the teen a giddy sort of relief.
Through the destruction of both the Spiders and the LoA, he finds himself taking small moments to just breathe. It's a simple joy he can't help but partake in.
Tim logically knows there's a price. His breaths cost him, though he doesn't know their price. He should be dead and buried within the flowers.
He is neither.
He is alive. He is free (from the petals. It takes him a little bit to become free of Ra's).
Tim brushes aside these valid and alarming concerns to focus on his goals: escape, take down Ra's, and derail whatever retaliation occurs.
So that's what Tim does. He ignores the insistent sense of wrongness and focuses on the task at hand. He coordinates his friends and family. He faces down Ra's. He gets kicked out of a window.
With a grim smile, his body goes lax and his eyes flutter shut
He's done.
When Tim springs up from unconsciousness, Steph's voice reassures him he's safe. She tells him he's in the batcave.
The tension to bleeds from his body as Damian mutters a demand. Tim's eyes dart from Robin to Batgirl to Batman (Dick) to Alfred.
That sinking feeling of wrongness returns.
Dick's eyes are trained on the teen as he asks Tim, "How did you know I'll be there to save you?"
It's obvious the man is worried. It's obvious he's so fucking glad he caught his younger brother.
The lie falls from Tim's lips as smooth as any truth, "You're my brother, Dick. You'll always be there for me."
Dick's face brightens with fond relief.
Tim watches. He observes the reactions of his older brother. He catalogs the effect of his words on the man he's admired and loved for thirteen years.
He notes all of this.
And he feels nothing.
#tim drake#thank you for the ask!!!!#dc au#I'm not editing this so have fun ~#also yellow carnations represent: disdain & disappointment & rejection#i know there are a ton of plot holes just ignore them
