You want an extra obscure character? Doctor Occult/Rose Psychic they’re the same character not in the sense that they are very similar but in the sense that they share a body.

i do think doc is undeniably intended to be transfem following the fusion with rose--rose being the true form that walks in the faerie realm with tim, the vertigo visions special placing an emphasis on their lost girlhood with rose attempting to explore a sexuality she was never fully able to when she was younger, the choice to have a transgender woman on a talk show playing in the background of their office while marly is smoking with the line "it's my right as a man to be a woman if i want" particularly emphasized, rose looking at herself in the mirror and seeing herself but with doc's "masculine" facial features, etc. like i certainly do view them as bigender and they are explicitly genderfluid, but i think it's clear they are transfem genderfluid.

but I do love the idea of Superman not being the first hero on the scene, but all the heroes who are already there are real life comic book characters who paved the way for him, guys like Doc Savage, The Phantom, Doctor Occult
