riz who hides behind walls and in dark corners because he cannot stand in a crowd and simply blend in; gorgug who wakes up his whole childhood in a room too small. two people who garner attention that they aren't seeking. riz the rogue whose keen eye notices, knows how people will stare if given the opportunity. gorgug who more often than not sits timidly with his headphones on and hands in his hoodie pocket, who hates the stomach flip when someone assumes he must be a barbarian, and hates the fact that he proves them right.

anyways for all I say bmc is badly written. this is not a reflection on the people that enjoy it.

it's like. box mac and cheese is an enjoyable meal. it's tasty, it's comforting. it's not a GOOD meal. it's not healthy or all that filling. and that's fine! enjoying it is okay!

my issue comes when people will hold it up as a paragon of writing. because yes. I like box mac and cheese too! but it's not a masterpiece meal just bc it's in front of me. you telling me that it's tasty so it must be good isn't the correlation we should be making. things can be liked, even loved, without needing to be good.

That thing that people keep bringing up w academics being a lil bit stuck in their ways, in the sense that they can be out of touch with regular degular people sometimes, I think a good solution to that would be mandatory art classes for anyone getting a degree in STEM. Someone getting a physics degree having to learn how to belly dance. Someone getting a math degree learning how to paint. Etc, cuz like 1. It'll help them appreciate the """lesser""" liberal arts as serious fields of study that can be just as strenuous as your STEM degree and 2. Can you really get mad at people who don't know about your degree's minutiae? You didn't know who Andy Warhol was and why he's important up until a semester ago
