Cutburn Sisters asks open! 🤷‍♀️

Feeling surprisingly attached to SCOM OCs (or partial OCs like Josh).

This comes after writing a scene with Hettie and her sister which went longer than expected, because it was such a blast to write.

I’m really bad with OCs (main characters at least) but I’m having a great time with these side ones.

As I mentioned, Bettie and Bennie’s main appearance arcs are done in SCOM, but I have ideas for them if I get to a follow up.

Same with “Josh” who was a background character in TOH.

Dadrius Week Day 3: Coven Heads

Inspired by the many AUs where Darius is charged with taking care of Hunter from infancy. In this version he gets Dadrius and all the Aunts, Uncles, and Titis that a growing grimwalker could want. Everyone wants to hold the baby but Eberwolf is going to have to wait his turn. I decided to include Hettie simply because I think she’s neat.

Young Eda spinoff this. Philip and Caleb spinoff that. Adult Hexsquad spinoff would be fire. But hear me out.

Gimme a spinoff called Lost Hoots. A show that goes through all the theoretical adventures we could have gotten if the show hadn't been shortened. No serialized plot needed, just show us what these intended episodes would have been like so we could explore x character or x location and how they would have fit into the Owl House world. The possibilities I tell you.

Don't come @ me saying it's too late, the show's already over; I know that. Let a guy dream about what could have been and what can still be someday.

Adding to the possibility of Eda’s Requiem being the last “natural” TOH episode written where the writers didn’t have to worry about the shortening, where it was the intended pace and flow… It makes me think because in Hunting Palismen, we get our first proper glimpse at the coven heads, all nine! And then in the very next episode we see them again, this time without their cloaks, and are introduced to three.

I understand that with the shortening, the writers had to prioritize wrapping up pre-existing characters (with the Collector introduced as a second immortal friend for King when he outlives everyone else). And they tried to fit in Terra and Adrian where they could!

But man, if the writers didn’t have to worry… Makes me wonder if the next episode after Eda’s Requiem, if it wasn’t Knock, Knock, Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door, would’ve introduced another coven head; Maybe another three, per the previous episode, and the episode after that, the final three! Or at least two, one. Subsequent episodes having some coven head debut until that’s all nine.

I do speculate that Vitimir was slated next, given his presence alongside Terra and Adrian and nobody else; And not to get into conspiracy territory, but when asked about dropped coven head plot lines, Dana was able to remember Hettie Cutburn’s name, but not Osran’s, even if she talked about both. But she did name drop Vitimir even if she had nothing else to say. Which makes me believe he and Hettie were the most recent ones in Dana’s mind, due to being planned next!

After that is Osran and/or Mason; The storyboards for Any Sport in a Storm actually show Mason as one of the Penstagram accounts that Darius is scrolling through, showing off his grandkids! Seems like setup for Mason to make a proper debut with his family as a plot point. Makes me wonder if ASIAS and a few other episodes were also planned prior to the news, but had to be reshuffled and/or got left relatively intact.

(Did the writers also originally plan to include Mason before realizing they had no room, as they went through the process for 2B? Or was it just a cameo crumb they changed their mind on?)

After all, Clouds on the Horizon has storyboards depicting Amity with the portal key around her neck, despite that being lost long ago; Could just be a mistake by the storyboarder, I forgot which one. But what if that was going to follow up shortly after Eda’s Requiem, not Eclipse Lake, and would’ve been where Amity lost the key?

Of course, this implies that Alador would’ve gotten his act together even sooner than canon, or that CotH was changed quite a bit with some select moments still remaining the same, but the context around them being different due to the shortening forcing storylines to be reorganized. It’s amazing the end product turned out quite comprehensible and pretty satisfying!

With the original S3 plans involving the protagonists, Abomination mechs, and a desert, this all makes me think of Kikimora with Roka and her home of Palm Stings. And with Osran as someone who knew her mother and got her a position because of it, maybe his debut episode would’ve been there instead? Or he’s introduced around the end of S2A, and comes back for Kikimora’s backstory.

And since Odalia provides Roka the Abomatron, that whole bit wouldn’t have been there in the original version of CotH, maybe… Since Kikimora is there to kidnap Luz, which leads to her confronting Belos and Kikimora helping stop the Day of Unity in revenge. Or maybe she would’ve delivered the key to Belos, not Hunter. Oh to interrogate one of the writers over all of these things…!

An unnecessary and in-depth analysis of magic colors used in TOH (Part 1):

At first glance it might seem like the colors used in spell circles and other magic casting is associated with the type of magic used. However, the colors that different characters use tends to be constant regardless of what type of magic they’re casting (with a few exceptions). It may not actually have any significance other than being their favorite color, but I decided to look into it further since there is a ton of symbolism in this show.

Red:

Skara, Belos, Hunter w/ staff

Red is associated with love, passion, strength, leadership but also aggression, war, danger, defiance.

In Belos’ case, the red can be seen as a symbol of his desire for power and determination to succeed in his goal to destroy witches and demons. Hunter, likewise, was influenced by Belos during the time that he used red magic, though it’s unclear whether it was from the staff itself or as a result of his influence over Hunter. Skara, on the other hand, though also very passionate, fiery, and strong, has been shown to care about her friends and take initiative to help them, so red isn’t necessarily bad.

Orange:

Boscha, Bria, Tinella Nosa, Eberwolf

Orange is associated with enthusiasm, fun, determination, success, but also being over-emotional, superficial and insincere.

I would have expected Boscha and Bria to have red magic, considering their desire for power, but after giving it some thought it’s really more of attention-seeking behavior, which fits right in with these traits. They clearly are determined to succeed in whatever they try as well as superficial and insincere. We don’t know a lot about Tiny Nose and Eberwolf, but they both seem to have fun and ferocious personalities which also fits with the orange symbolism.

Green:

Willow, Principal Bump, Demon Hunters

Light green: Terra Snapdragon, Angmar (possibly Jerbo)

Green is associated with harmony, safety, growth, and of course nature but also with jealousy, greed and corruption

Green fits Willow not only because she excels at plant magic but also because of her personality. Willow cares very deeply about harmony and safety among her friends and family and also has gone through tremendous growth as a character. Likewise, Bump is shown to be protective of the safety and harmony of the Hexside students. The demon hunters don’t share any of these positive traits, but the one defining characteristic that they do have is greed.

Angmar and Terra having similar colors puzzled me because they are so different aside from having plant magic in common. Greed and corruption suits Terra quite well though and while Angmar has also shown to be somewhat greedy, he is also very whimsical and seems like somebody that values harmony (he likes butterflies!). Apparently yellowish green can indicate decay (Terra) while pale green can signify peace (Angmar). Jerbo is listed as using white magic but I think his may also be a light green.

Blue:

Gwendolyn Clawthorne, Viney, Hettie Cutburn

Blue is associated with stability, loyalty, responsibility, security, but also coldness, control, depression

Viney is studying both healing and beast keeping, and Gwen’s coven is beast keeping, while Hettie is the healing Coven Head. Both of these types of magic are rooted in caring for others; or responsibility for others. Gwen can be oblivious and controlling but she’s still very much loyal to her family and seeks to provide a (somewhat misguided) sense of stability and security for her children. Viney also seems very self-assured and dependable which fits well with these traits. We don’t know much about Hettie but she definitely comes across as cold and possibly controlling.

Hitting you all with my sad Owl house headcanons.

(I am projecting some of my own feelings into these, please don’t reply say anything particularly nasty about a certain headcanon.)

1) Luz is named Luz because she was the light of her parents lives, they’d had five miscarriages before she was conceived, and her parents assumed they’d never be a Mamá or Papá.

2) Willow holds some resentment towards Amity, and sometimes deliberately misses out on things so she doesn’t have to see her, but she doesn’t hate her, she enjoys spending time with her sometimes, and she’s had good memories with her, she just doesn’t understand why she feels that way.

3) Amity always thought she’d have to be in a relationship with Boscha one day, and dreaded it. When Odalia told her they’d get her a new girlfriend, her first thought was being forced into a loveless life with Boscha.

4) Gus pretty much refuse to make friends out his current friend group in fear they’ll use him.

5) Hunters presence in general reminds people how lucky they had it growing up, and he feels really awkward about it.

6) Willow is terrified of people hurting the ones she loves most and can sometimes be overbearingly protective, particularly of Hunter or Gus.

7) Luz was so scared of experiencing bullying and discrimination on the isles that she sometimes told people she had a birth defect and she was actually a witch.

8) Vee is very claustrophobic, but she doesn’t really have panic attacks and she feels awkward bringing it up.

9) Gus is convinced something is wrong with Mattholomule in like a- is everything okay at home type way.

10) Hunter was raped by multiple scouts on multiple unrelated occasions. He wants to tell his friends/ family just so someone knows and it’s out there, but he’s terrified of how they might see him or what they might do if it gets out there.

11) Amity knows she was mistreated, and that her mother was awful to her, but she doesn’t really consider it abuse, just bad parenting.

12) Darius feels so guilty about the way he treated Hunter that he sort of smothered him when he first came to live with him.

13) Hunter and Luz both self harmed/ had an eating disorder without even realising it. When Luz was little and she got frustrated she would pull her hair as hard as she could, and she was a strong kid. Hunter used to make himself vomit and restrict food intake when he believed he’d been ‘bad’, Hettie Cutburn found out and tried to get him to stop but he always found a way.

[Plot]

Instead of Luz stumbling upon The Boiling Isles, she ends up in Vivziepop's version of Hell.

[Background Info]

•Luz is the only human within this AU while the others are Demons.

•Known Sinners:

Eda Clawthorne

Age: 17.

Species: Owl Demon.

Died: 1990s.

Cause of Death: Poisoned.

Sins: Gluttony.

Story: Eda was the most rebellious, yet troublesome teenager in all of Oregon from random pranks to Arson, though despite her delinquency she was a child prodigy getting A+ in all of her classes, but sadly all of that ended when she died during a soccer match due to cyanide poisoning. *cough* Lilith.

Lilith Clawthorne

Age: 18.

Species: Raven Demon.

Died: 1990s

Cause of Death: Suicide.

Sins: Envy.

Story: Lilith is the oldest sister of Eda Clawthorne who was always trying to get attention or praise from her peers and parents, but yet she never did due to her younger sister being "better than her" and so one day she slipped poison into Eda's water bottle and instantly regretted after Eda told her that she was the best sister in the world. After Eda's death, Lilith had suffered a great ammount of guilt and despair to the point where she ended her own life.

Philip "Belos" Whitebane

Age: 50.

Species: Deer Demon.

Died: 1600s.

Cause of Death: Hanged.

Sins: Pride.

Story: Belos, one of the most powerful and fearful overlord hell has ever witnessed. In his life he was known as a Witch Hunter General during the witch trials similar to Salem, but what the pilgrims didn't know, until later on, that he was actually an Occultist and was later hanged for his crimes.

Raine Whispers.

Age: 17.

Species: Bat Demon.

Died: 1967.

Cause of Death: Shot during Flower Power.

Sins: Hersey *Witchcraft*.

Story: Raine was born and raised by pagans in a commune so throughout their whole life they were homeschooled by their parents, learning herbology along with other pagan traditions. During their high school years they would participate in protests and the last one they attended was Flower Power".

Supplying not just for Sinners and Hellborns, but also the Overlords and Demonic Loyalty of Hell.

•King is a Hellhound, Eda and Raine found him in a cardboard box in an alley when he was only a pup and they both decided upon themselves to take him ate their place and raise him. Basically the same way in "Echoes of the Past" but different.

•Perry Porter, Gus's dad, is still a field reporter in this and he works for 666 News. Though the only work associate he has is Tom, because Katie Killjoy is a total bitch to him due to being an Imp.

•In this AU Amity and Willow are still friends, but after confronting her bitch of a mother Amity decided to runaway to the Pride Ring with Willow, also Gilbert and Harvey fostered Amity.

•All the palisman in this AU are Hell-Fauna, which are Demonic versions of animals.

•The Collector in this AU is renamed Collie Morningstar and they are the youngest child of Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar along with the baby sibling of Charlie Morningstar and the archivists who are also in this AU as the children of Morningstar, but unlike the archivists Charlie is the only sibling that cares for Collie. *Also since the archivists didn't have any names in "Fort the Future" or "Watching and Dreaming" so the names I gave them are Salem, Basil, Aaren, Draco.

•The Nine Coven Leaders in this AU are Overlords.

•When humans, like Luz, are stuck in Hell for long periods of time that they begin to turn into a demon.

•After Lilith died she bumped into Eda and tried to apologize for what she did to her which of course didn't end well. For about several years Lilith has been jumping from job to job until she met Flora D'splora, also a Sinner, who hired Lilith as her assistant at the Museum of History of Demonic.

•Hunter is one of the many Imps Belos took in (for bad reasons of course, Because it's belos after all).

•Originally Willow and her dad's were from the Wrath Ring, then they moved to Greed due to Harvey having a job at Blight Industries which lasted for a little while until Odalia fired him after due to Amity not cutting ties with Willow which made them move to Pride.

•This AU mostly takes place in the Pride Ring, within a town called Malum which is just outside of Pentagram City just a few minutes away.

•Belo's true demonic form would be his kaiju form from "Watching and Dreaming" and his normal form would be a mix between his regular emperor self and his cursed self.

•Eda has trouble controlling her true demonic form every now and then just like how she had trouble controlling her curse in canon. Her true demonic form is the same as her Owl Beast form.

•Hooty is still hooty. (🦉 Hooty Hoot 🦉)

•Hexisde is also in this AU, but it's renamed "Hexside School District." Which is surprisingly one of the best schools in hell for Hellborns, better than Glandus and St Epidermis.

•Even though there's no coven system, each character has their own set of different demonic abilities and powers.

•Luz's Demon form is that same as her titan form, but instead of her witch outfit she's in her default clothes which are a bit torn due to her transformation.

•Eda and Raine own a store called "The Owl Nest" that sells trinkets, crystals, charms, herbs *including cannabis*, and other types of goods.

Location Changes

The Dragon house is located outside of Latissa, deep in the woods. It’s a treehouse with a spiral staircase around the tree to the top. It’s situated on one of the bigger trees in the forest and connects to other buildings in the trees with bridges. 

Hexside is switched out for Glandus High, along with the students, teachers, and principal. The detention track exists here as well as a separate classroom. 

Everything that happened in Bonesburough now happens in Latissa, and vice versa, the coven scouts are just a bit more prominent. 

The hill that Raine and Eda sit on is swapped with a cave in the woods where Vitimir and Robyn hung out in school and later in adulthood. 

Blight Industries and the Blight Manor are switched out for Zamora Technology and the Zamora Estate. 

The Looking Glass Ruins are swapped out for a jungle temple that is the resting place for the most powerful Bards. It holds their most powerful instruments and guarded by a large manticore. It is located east of the Titan’s skull on the shoulder. 

Series Changes

Akari would have a single father instead of a single mother. His name is Mamoru Hisakawa. They also have a tradition for the other parent’s birthday since they passed away. 

Orion would be in the Oracle track with Kenzie before being changed to the Healing Track. Hettie did this because she didn’t want him to be ostracized for being a Cutburn.

Robyn turns into an Eastern dragon when cursed and into a Dragonborn when he comes to terms with his curse. 

Robyn gets his elixirs from his brother Huxley, who makes and sells them in Latissa at his own stand. 

Instead, we experience how Glandus would have handled the greater basilisk if they had a human at their school. They win in the end. 

Wilder cursed Robyn because he thought it would encourage him to join a coven and get healed. It backfired very quickly and horribly.

Robyn, in his cursed form, injured Alto to the point of making him unable to play the violin and make instruments. 

Wilder turns into a wyvern when cursed (larger than Robyn’s cursed form) and into a Dragonborn in the epilogue. 

In flashback sequences with the Long family, Cillian and Huxley are present, but do not speak (Robyn’s other brothers).

Cillian comes to the Dragon House instead of Giselle and tries his own methods to drive out Robyn’s curse. He wants to try and fix everything because he’s the oldest. 

Flashback moments with Robyn and Vitimir are centered around potion-making and playing hooky with Vitimir’s work (Platonic with a few romance moments, not dating). 

The BATTs are renamed to PATs (Potions Against Tyranny) and CATTs are renamed to CATs (Covens Against Tyranny).

When fighting against Hettie and Mason, Robyn and Vitimir create a ‘super potion’ that will stun their attackers when coming in contact with Robyn’s curse via playing the violin. 

IFWOT/HECK is not how Robyn and Vitimir meet. Instead, they meet in school where Robyn approaches Vitimir. Darius (same age as them) and Hexside’s Grudgby team is there for a game and problems ensue. 

Orion and Hunter are not shipped together, just friends/brotherly who bond when the Emperor’s Coven arrives at Glandus to brand the students. Orion is 13 years old, Hunter is 16 years old. 

Robyn’s human disguise name is Gerald. He hides his ears and horns with a big cowl and his tail is hooked to his belt like a chain. 

Darius begrudgingly plays the part of Robyn in the Collector’s “Dragon House” game and makes fun of him for liking Potion brewers.

Kikimora goes to Glandus disguised as Miki and her Abomatron as Roka, students from St Epiderm. She builds her empire there with those students.

Hunter, with Orion, would be greeted by Mason and Hettie when everyone is turned back to normal. 

Hettie, Mason, and Vitimir team up with Zamora Technology and Blight Industries to find a way to remove the sigils. It turns out successful.

Unchanged Parts

Gravesfield is still the location of the portal door, therefore Akari and her dad live there and Akari goes to school there. 

The portal door is found buried in the ground. 

Belos’ past (whatever we have of it) is the same with Caleb and Evelyn, and slowly taking over the Isles with the grim walkers he made with Caleb’s dead body.

The Emperor's Castle, the Conformatorium, and the Archives locations do not change. 

Training on the Knee still happens, just with Akari, Robyn, Kenzie, and and Kenzie’s cousins.

Palisman Adoption Day still happens, just at Glandus High. 

Time-traveling to the past to meet Philip Wittebane with Akari and Wilder. 

The Titan Trappers exist and still want to look for the last Titan. 

Hunter leaves the Emperor’s Coven after going through Belos’ mind and learning about his true intentions. 

More students start learning multitrack. 

Hunter tells the school about Belos’ Draining Spell plans. 

The Coven heads still fight on the Day of Unity, the roles are just swapped.

No matter how, Vitimir’s hat gets cut in half at the Day of Unity.

Robyn’s arm gets pulled off during the Draining Spell. 

Belos enlisted the help of the Collector for the Draining Spell, and did not keep his end of the deal. 

S3E1’s events happen the same way. 

The Archives get built over the Titan’s head. 

The Collector’s backstory is the same. 

The Titan gives the human his remaining powers to help stop Belos. 

Dell still gets an apprentice and hits his goal to replenish the palistrom trees with the Bat Queen.

Hettie changed Orion’s last name to Pines to keep him safe from Belos (Reference to Gravity Falls). 

Yule is in the Bard track playing the cello. Their dad works as an author and was in the Illusion track. 

Kenzie’s parents are the biggest manufacturers of crystal balls in the Isles. Their company is called Zamora Tech. 

Her mother is in the Illusion Coven and her father is in the Oracle Coven.

The PATs wear steampunk-inspired lower-face masks and goggles. Vitimir only wears the goggles. 

Their outfits are also to help conceal their identities. 

Giselle is in the Healing Coven and has been trying to use different healing methods on Robyn’s curse. 

Alto is in the Bard Coven. He used to teach young witches how to play certain instruments and used to hand-make instruments. 

Glandus High’s principal is trying to diminish the whole “Strongest students at the top of the food chain” thing. It’s not going well, but he’s trying. 

Wilder, after leaving the Emperor’s Coven, starts working a job that studies extinct beasts on the Boiling Isles. 

When Robyn and Wilder’s curse starts showing, they sprout scales on their skin the same color as the scales on their tails. 

Robyn’s personality is not like Eda’s, so his way of teaching magic is a bit different, but still strange to Akari and everyone else. 

Of the Glandus Group: Orion is the youngest (13), then Akari (14), Kenzie (14), then Yule (15), and Hunter is the oldest (16). 

Vitimir uses his corrosive breath to fight against the spreading mold from Belos when he possesses the Titan’s heart. 

Kenzie’s cousins live in the Palm Stings, but enjoy visiting once in a while to bug their cousin and help their aunt and uncle. 

Akari and Kenzie confess to each other and start dating after Scaly tries to get them together. 

Akari also comes out to her dad as bisexual and is accepted. 

Kenzie has a job at Latissa Inn at the Front desk and the Inn’s IT witch. At Zamora Tech, she tests out their beta versions of new projects. 

She dyes her hair from dirty blonde to Oracle purple after she loses her job for leaving her post. Her real hair color is black.

Scaly is still an anomaly to the Glandus group and to Robyn, despite being a house demon. 

During the Apocalypse:

Most of the Boiling Isles inhabitants were turned into puppets. 

The Collector and Malik play “The Dragon House” game.

Robyn, Wilder, and Malik stay together as the Collector thinks Robyn is still in his cursed form. 

Glandus High is being run by the students and Bria with “Miki” helping her. 

The Glandus Group was thrown into the Human realm, then found a way back to the Demon Realm. 

Darius plays Robyn in “The Dragon House” game until he steps out of line and gets turned into a puppet by the Collector. 

Darius, Raine, and Eberwolf are the three who want the throne while the Isles is being rebuilt and are scared off by Hettie and Mason. Eberwolf sneaks back to touch the throne before a scalpel is thrown at him. 

Time-skip stuff:

Akari and Ree graduate high school and Akari goes to the Boiling Isles for College (all majors).

Orion is a nurse at his mother’s clinic taking on a Dr. Frankenstein role and part-time Flyer Derby player. 

Hunter works with Alto to create instruments that younger witches can play. 

Alto and Giselle are seen at their work with Orion and Hunter. 

Wilder and Scaly get to work at the University of Wild Magic for Abominations. Wilder also gets his Dragonborn form. 

Kenzie works at Zamora Tech with her (now divorced) father as head engineer. 

The Glandus Principal is still at Glandus, mostly diminishing its student rules. 

Vitimir, Hettie, and Mason collaborated with Blight Industries to help create a machine that removes sigils. 

The Manticore from the Jungle Temple is living peacefully, now with cubs.

Yule is a big musician who’s released a few albums. 

Robyn works with his brother Huxley to produce an elixir that helps ailments and lasts longer. 

Robyn gains a mechanical arm to replace his disintegrated one, made by Zamora Tech. 

Vitimir gets a palisman.

The group celebrates Akari’s birthday as she starts college in the Boiling Isles.

The next photograph shows Willow and Gus, and wow, remember when Gus was that short? And we didn't know he had a Tragic Backstory?

Anyways, based on the background, I’d say this memory is from season one, episode 18, Agony of a Witch, That wall looks like the inside of Belos’ castle, meaning we’re going out of chronological order, since the last photo/memory is clearly from Grom.

The penultimate photo shows the Grudgby match from Wing it Like Witches, with Amity, Luz, and Willow challenging Amelia, Boscha, and Cat.

(see what I did there? I wrote their names in alphabetical order!)

The Collector butts in and says they want to try Grudgby, which reminded me that I should be listening to what Luz is talking about instead of pausing every second take screenshots and point out what episode they’re from.

To my surprise, we didn’t get to see the Grom photo, but head straight over to the Grudgby field at Hexside, and Eda gets to have her boomer moment.

Eda: ”When I was your age, I had to walk to and from school in the snow! And it was uphill both ways!”

Also, ah… you okay in the background there, Collector? Are you feeling left out buddy? Sad because you don’t have a loving family?

Luz: ”Now there’s a spin-off I’d watch!”

About Eda and Lilith’s Grudgby careers? I mean… I guess? Make that a spin-off prequel about young version of all the characters, Eda, Lilith, Raine, Alador, Odalia, Darius, the other Coven Heads, Principal Bump, etc. Could be a good way to add some personality to some of these characters that we know literally nothing about. I was actually working on a fanfic kinda like that a while back, but I kinda gave up on it, but I think I had some neat ideas with it. Like a chapter where Darius met the Golden Guard that became his mentor, a chapter where Vitimir, after being bullied in school, poisons the entire school with a garlic potion, a chapter explaining why Adrian Graye Vernworth changed his name to Adrian Grey, and a chapter where Hettie Cutburn turns out to be a Victor Frankenstein-esque mad doctor who helped resurrect the basilisks… and the reason why she wears that stupid hat is because one of them escaped and clawed her face to shreds.

I was kinda skeptical about a prequel spin-off at first, but the more I think about it, the more potential I see in it. Maybe there could even be an episode where young Eda runs into Camila and Manny during a visit to the Human Realm, that’d be neat. Just have Eda be in disguise or something so Camila doesn’t recognize her later and it’ll be fun.

…shoot, now I kinda wanna read a fic with that premise. Hey, you! People on the internet! Make it happen!

A few things about me:

I have been known to stick with a fandom for a VERY long time, so I'll be riding this train for quite a bit.

Fan fiction has become a really important outlet for me. I have been lucky enough to make some great friends within the fandom -- and I enjoy engaging with folks regarding TOH, fan art, headcanons,fics, books, and general geekery.

That said, I am an adult with a full time job and a young family. So just keep that in mind. This is something I do because I enjoy it! I appreciate everyone who puts effort into their writing and am not in competition with anyone.

The fear of burnout is real.

Years after Belos' defeat and the alliance with the Collector, things have settled into a new normal. Amity and Luz are married and have a young daughter named Azura. Hunter and Willow have also married and have just found out that they are going to become parents!

Hunter looks back on the events leading up to the birth of his and Willow's first child.

Triggered by outside influences which stir fear and doubt within him, Hunter wonders if he is incapable of being a good father given the nature of his own upbringing.

As the pressure builds, Hunter will need to lean on the support of his found family and friends to make it through unsolicited advice, planning a surprise baby shower and the public’s fascination with his past life under Belos in order to protect what is most precious to him.

What do you think the other non-speaking Coven Heads are like? We know Vitimir is probably as evil as Terra and Adrian, but considering Hettie Cutburn, Osran, and Mason aren't seen with those three in trying to be evil again, but also not mingling with the heroes like Darius, Eberwolf, and Raine, wonder if Hettie, Osran, and Mason were just misunderstood rather than full on evil.

I think if I remember right there was a live-stream with Dana along with Lilith’s VA and Hunter’s VA (and maybe also Luz’s VA) where Dana answered some questions about them but Idr what all of that was atm. From what I can headcanon tho’ is: Hettie got really busy with helping heal and organize healing groups through the Isles to help folks that weren’t captured by the Toy-Makers and were caught up in Belos’ attempted possession of the Titan. Osran helped find lost people find their families and then retired. Mason was working pretty tirelessly to rebuild cities and villages throughout the Isles, even getting his kids Matt and Steve to help (headcanon that he’s Mason Tholomule, Matt’s new step-dad). Vitimir likely went back to making and testing potions while vying for power in the new government system that came up. Terra went and sealed herself away in her greenhouse not wanting to deal with anymore bs from others. Adrian began his own stage business and directing career, he’s evil sure and sucks to work for but he puts on a good play.

Hurry! Hurry! You can do it! Hunter almost ran down the corridor. He knew he could be there on time! Uncle had promised that he could attend the meeting if he finished all his other duties first. All the Coven Heads and other high-ranking officials and scouts were supposed to be there to discuss the preparations for the Day of Unity, and Hunter had a few ideas about the security measures – and Uncle had said that he would allow Hunter to bring them up in front of everyone. If only he would get there on time!

Post the scouts at the edges of the Outer Area, make a schedule and rotate them so everybody can see a little part of the ceremony… He almost ran into Adrian Graye, who shouldered him in retaliation before briskly walking away.

Was… was the meeting already over?

Vitimir scurried past him.

Hunter was afraid he would be late, but not this late!

Osran glided by, entranced by his Crystal Ball.

The Coven Heads are already leaving...

Hunter made sure to give Alador Blight a wide berth – he still wasn’t certain whether Amity had told her father anything about their altercation at the Eclipse Lake. Hunter didn’t tell Uncle about her involvement, but could he trust the Blight girl to do the same? Yet the Abomination Coven Head didn’t seem to even notice him, completely absorbed by his scroll. They do say his relationship with his family is distant at best… still, Hunter had to be careful.

The other Coven Heads were catching up.

Terra nearly bumped into him, then stopped and gave him a strange, interested look that made him move faster.

Maybe Uncle was still in the Throne Room? Maybe he would listen to Hunter’s ideas?

Much more slowly Mason and Scooter Crane walked on, arm in arm, whispering to each other. Mason was clearly adjusting his pace to old Crane’s painfully slow gait.

In front of the Throne Room doors Hettie Cutburn was giving orders to some scouts. No one paid Hunter any attention.

Is Uncle still inside? Hunter walked into the Throne Room, but only Eberwolf was there, sitting on the table, shuffling through some papers.

“Eberwolf? Is the meeting already over?” Obviously it’s over! He nearly slapped himself in frustration. Stupid! “I mean, why is it over so early?”

Eberwolf yelped ambiguously, yawned, and started scratching themselves behind the ear with their foot.

“When did the Emperor leave?” Hunter tried again.

“Ah, there you are,” a melodic voice interrupted him. Flora!

“What are you doing here?” Hunter demanded. She wasn’t even part of the Day of Unity preparations!

“I was looking for the Beast Keeper,” Flora replied curtly.

“I want to see those new ratworms,” she addressed Eberwolf, who happily jumped down from the table. “And I have no time for children,” she muttered under her breath.

Hunter heard her! He clenched his fists. He was the Golden Guard! He outranked everyone in the room! And Flora wasn’t even a real official or anything.

“Let us not linger,” Flora turned to leave.

Eberwolf trotted out of the room, their face unreadable. This was unfair! Disrespectful! Seething with righteous anger Hunter followed them out.

“I need those worms ready and fit by the time of the expedition,” Flora was saying. The scouts gave her curious looks. Only Hettie didn’t even turn her head – instead the Healing Coven Head continued talking to her subordinates, and her voice grew louder and louder. Flora paused and smirked.

Eberwolf growled something. “Ah? Really?” Flora raised an eyebrow. “Mating season? Well,” for some reason she looked in Hettie’s direction, “I’m sure even the worms have better courtship manners than some.” She winked.

Hettie furiously turned around to face her.

Flora said something else, but Hunter didn’t quite catch it because Eberwolf started to make motions like they were chocking or about to barf out a hairball, while Hettie’s face went completely red, and she stomped off, scowling, not even listening to the scouts who trailed behind her.

“Just as I thought,” Flora laughed, playing with her whip. Eberwolf stopped barfing and sat up, flicking their ears. They chittered.

“Come, Beastie, we have work to do,” Flora said, and, before Hunter could demand an explanation, the duo walked away.

Hunter blinked. “But why… Hettie…” he muttered. He had never seen her like that before. “What just happened?”

“Oh, Dandelion, don’t worry your innocent mind about it,” Terra said right over his ear. Terra! How did she manage to sneak up on him? “This is too much for a fragile young brain,” she cackled.

“I… did the meeting start early? I wanted to propose some plans for the Day of Unity,” he said, failing to stop his mouth from running.

“Oh, yes,” Terra grinned, then frowned. “Did you think it was supposed to start later? Perhaps Kikimora has forgotten to send you a message with the correct time? I swear, she can be so forgetful sometimes,” Terra widened her grin. “Especially when it comes to you, Dandelion.”

Kikimora? Hunter wouldn’t put it past her to mislead him on purpose! “Yes, maybe that’s what happened,” he agreed. Damn that demon!

Terra inched closer. Hunter took a step back. Why did he have to run his mouth around her? They were alone now, and he wasn’t sure whether she was still seeking test subjects for her ‘venomous plant program’.

Terra creeped even closer. “So, what were you saying, Golden Guard? You wanted to show off your ideas?” She pointed at the papers in his arms.

Hunter nodded and took another step back. Now he just wanted to go back to his room and complain to Flapjack.

“You want to be helpful?”

Hunter nodded again, already regretting it.

“Well then, maybe you could help me?” Terra made a face that was probably supposed to be amiable. Hunter simply felt creeped out.

“Eeh, of course?” He remembered himself. “Of course, Head Witch Snapdragon.” He squared his shoulders. “I will be glad to assist you.”

Terra smiled serenely. “How wonderful. Thank you, dear.”

He didn’t have time to reply. A blink of an eye, and vines sprouted out of the floor, surrounding them. A heartbeat, and they were in Terra’s Greenhouse.

“Ah, now we can talk. How nice to be able to breathe again,” Terra inhaled deeply, savouring the rich, earthy smell of her Greenhouse.

“Aah,” Hunter barely had time to dodge a striking whipsaw plant that had lunged at him, rattling in its flowerpot.

Terra hummed to herself, busy checking the leaves on a huge tree-like plant with a hazard symbol on its pot. Hunter struggled with the whipsaw. It hissed and snapped at him. Hunter was grateful for his gloves.

Terra summoned a pair of secateurs. “Oh, what were we talking about?” She started trimming the tree. Hunter finally managed to free himself from the angry plant.

“Ah, yes! You see, Dandelion, I’ve been thinking about the Day of Unity. Oh, what a glorious day! But,” she sighed, “this marvelous future seems really hollow if you don’t have anyone to share it with.” She sighed again. “Perhaps Mason’s prattling about his family got to me, but he has his sprigs, and Osran and that old coot Crane have their grandchildren. Even the Blight has a family, though they can’t stand him. And the others have apprentices…”

Terra snipped off an offshoot from a spiky plant.

“So maybe I need an heir, some budding talent to share the royal future with… Someone skilled and loyal to a fault…”

An heir? “Eh…” Hunter tugged at his collar. “It’s not like I’m not honored, Head Witch, but my Uncle… I mean the Emperor… he says he has plans and I have to help him…”

“Of course I don’t mean you!” Terra snapped. The spiky plant lunged itself after its offshoot that was frantically crawling away. “Obviously.”

“Oh, obviously you don’t!” Phew, Hunter very nearly said. “So, do you have someone in mind then?”

Terra instantly calmed down. “Of course I have someone in mind.” She motioned with her head for him to follow her towards a desk with a surprisingly new version of the Crystal Ball on top of it.

“Hettie had set up this thing for me,” Terra muttered. She summoned a can of repellent. “So it’s probably bugged.”

She sprayed the Ball. Various bugs and worms crawled out from all around it and were promptly gobbled up by the hungry plants.

“Now we can look. My heir needs to be sufficiently powerful but trustworthy…”

Hunter wasn’t sure he really believed that she wanted an heir out of sentimental values. According to the Castle’s rumour mill, ever since she was badly injured during the Incident nineteen years ago, Terra had been gradually losing her health and her magical abilities – something you couldn’t afford to lose when you were one of the Coven Heads. So Hunter decided that the logical conclusion was that she needed a skilled apprentice to help her protect herself. Someone who could be enticed with the promise of the bright royal future as her heir, but who would be loyal enough not backstab her to get the position sooner. That someone would be hard to find.

“And here she is,” Terra turned on the video. A girl in glasses was talking passionately to a crowd.

“From the Owl Lady's petrification ceremony?”

Terra nodded her head. “Willow Park, a student in Hexside.” She pulled out a document folder. “I’ve been keeping an eye on her ever since.”

She dropped the folder into Hunter’s hands. He dutifully flipped through it. Wow, Terra seemed really thorough with her research! Only…

“But, Head Witch, she seems like a real troublemaker, hanging out with…” He remembered his own encounter with Luz… with the human… no, this was different…

“Yes, yes,” Terra shook her head sadly. “Hanging out, as you youngsters say, with that human and the Owl Lady… very, very regretful. What a waste of talent! Tragic really… but perhaps she isn’t a lost cause. She is young enough to be fixable…”

Terra sighed sadly. At this moment she seemed genuine for the first time since Hunter had known her. “Oh, to find someone talented and malleable and loyal… I knew a promising young sprout like this Willow once. Also a bit of a troublemaker, but seemed to grow out of it… only to turn out to be a traitor.”

She frowned and looked down at her arms, and Hunter noticed pale old scars with something darker, almost purplish, embedded under them.

“But perhaps that happened because I have left them alone. If I get to the Park girl before it’s too late, maybe it will be different. But I need to know whether she is worth the risk. Is the flower poisoned to the roots, or can it be saved with the right approach?”

The spiky plant finally caught up with its offshoot and devoured it in a single gulp.

“And,” Terra looked back up at Hunter, grinning again, “That’s where you come in.”

“Your grandson, Head Witch Snapdragon?” the principal of the Hexside school raised his head from the application form. The creature on his head twitched its tail in irritation. “I didn’t know you had grandchildren.”

Hunter smiled as wide as he could manage. He was sweating in the uncomfortable crapaud-wool jacket that Terra had forced on him, and the pomade in his hair made his scalp itch. He was 75-85% sure that she had dressed him up like a much younger child, but he didn’t protest. At least he was being useful? Uncle usually seemed to appreciate Terra’s help.

“Yes,” Terra crooned happily. “My dear little… ugh…”

“Caleb,” Hunter reminded her. He wondered how Flapjack was doing. Embarrassingly, Hunter was already missing that bird.

“Yes, my dear Caleb,” she smiled like the most sinisterly proud grandmother on the Isles and kicked Hunter under the desk. “I’ve had the poor child homeschooled on the grounds of his fragile disposition and because schools these days are just fertile grounds for bad influences… Still, we decided to give it a try. But of course,” she narrowed her eyes at the principal. “We first have to see whether your school is worthy of teaching my grandson.”

“Is that so?” the principal looked skeptical.

Hunter really needed to scratch his head. Would be nice to have a head creature to scratch your head for you...

“Just let him walk around for a couple of days and see for himself if this is the right place,” Terra continued. “Obviously, St. Epiderm and Glandus are more prestigious, but I decided to give this…” she pursed her lips and looked around the room, “place a chance, since we go way back.” She smiled sweetly.

The principal knitted his fingers and hummed under his breath. He looked even more skeptical now.

“Of course, there are huge benefits to having my grandson in your school… Oh? What is this?” She dropped something on the desk. “A little donation to help you fix up your auditorium. And of course,” her grin widened, “there are huge downsides of not allowing him in.”

The principal handed the check back to her. “Keep it, Head Witch. I know I can’t stop your… plan. If your grandson likes the school we can enroll him, but he’ll need to pass the entrance exam.”

An exam? Like the scout trial?

“All right then,” Terra got up. Hunter followed. Did he need to say something to the principal? Terra took him by the elbow and half-dragged him towards the door. He only said a single word during the whole ordeal.

“That went well,” Terra decided. “Now, Dandelion, remember your mission?”

“Yes, Head Witch,” Hunter straightened up. “Find the Park girl. Befriend her. Find out whether she is suitable to be your heir.”

“Right, right… Look!” Terra dragged him to the window. There was the girl! And her friend… Gus? And another girl Hunter recognized from Terra’s folder. Good thing that according to the files the human and the Blight should be away training with Lilith Clawthorne.

“Now,” Terra squinted at him. “You, Golden Guard, you do know what normal teenagers your age are like, right? Dandelion?”

“Ah, yes, of course!” This shouldn’t be difficult. “They… they like… schedules? Discipline?” he trailed off. “Sports?”

“No!” Terra slammed her fist on her palm. “Teenagers this age don’t like ‘discipline’.” The leaves on her head rustled menacingly. “Power! Raw ambition! That’s what they are all about. Who gets on the top of the school food chain, no matter by what means! Remember: they are ruthless creatures and would tolerate no weakness!”

Hunter nodded. He wondered what Terra was like in high school.

“You understand?”

“Yes, Head Witch.”

Terra looked out of the window and smiled.

“Oh, I know this will go great.”

Drabble: Hettie Cutburn

It was a quiet day on the Boiling Isles. Unfortunately, a certain small starboy with otherworldly fluffy lavender hair and a heart of gold was hit with a spell that was meant for his beloved big brother Hunter. Colli took the hit for the young Grimwalker.

Hunter was angry! Very angry! The spell somehow poisoned Colli and he fell into a coma. The immortal and eternal child knew that said spell would've killed Hunter. The blonde boy carried his featherlight little brother back to the Owl House. "Oh no, Colli!" Hooty was concerned.

"Little Star!" Eda was shocked to see her precious baby in such a bad shape. "Hunter, what happened?" King asked. The young Titan was just as concerned about his beloved little brother's wellbeing. "He saved my life..." Hunter whispered, still shaken that the light of his life was hurt.

To everyone's surprise, Hettie Cutburn heard about the incident and offered to heal him. Hettie was surprisingly maternal as she nursed the celestial boy back to health. To everyone's relief, Colli woke up. He immediately was pulled into a group hug by his family.

Okay, so, not too long ago I had this idea for a Disney Crossover, where I asked you all what sounded better.

And everyone seemed to agree #3. So, now I can explain why I brought this up.

I wanted to see if I can find some roleplayers who can play some of the Gravity Falls, Amphibia, and the Owl House characters. With myself included to help out.

The idea for the plot is this: There is a omnipotent dimensional being who's job is to observe different universes and write down all their events. Something like the Watcher from Marvel, who for now, I will call the Observer. The Observer's kind focus on their tasks and avoid getting involved.

However, this particular Observer ended up coming across the universe of Gravity Falls and became invested in their story. To the point they became a fan, drew a lot of fanart, and made a lot of theories of what was going to happen. Until the series ended up ending, which caused the Observer to become depressed.

Until they came across the other universes like Amphibia and the Owl House. Becoming fans and began observing their whole story. But once they ended, the Observer decided to do something about it.

So, the Observer created a secret world in an empty pocket dimension in order to create a brand new story involving the characters from these three universes.

From the main cast (focusing mainly on the main stars of the series), the supporting cast (the best friends), and the family members (even extended/adoptive families). All being brought in the moment their series ended and finding this world a combination of their world.

All being brought in to learn to work together and go up against their greatest enemies. All resurrected or freed to work together to try to destroy their enemies. With the Observer being the more-powerful being & limited their powers to keep them from doing something that will be beyond their control.

Anyone who is interested in doing this crossover need to be the following:

Have to have at least more than a year of RP experience

Have to be able to write more than one sentence.

Be willing to work well with others

Can play at least more than one character. I'm willing to play at least half of the cast (most of the female characters and non-binary characters).

Are also willing to write out battle scenes too. Don't want to be the only one who can do that.

And are okay with the shipping that has been established without making changes or adding any OCs to this. This is going to involve the canon characters and the OC Observer who is the only OC who will be in this.
