Poison Ivy: The Serpent in the Garden

In the deepest recesses of Gotham City, far from the chaos of the streets and the constant war between light and darkness, there was a place untouched by the corruption of men. It was a sanctuary of nature, a garden that thrived amidst the decay of the urban jungle. This was Poison Ivy's domain—a lush, verdant Eden filled with the most exotic plants, their vibrant colors and intoxicating scents weaving a tapestry of life that seemed almost otherworldly.

But this paradise was not without its dangers.

Hidden within the winding vines and towering trees, beneath the carpet of blooming flowers and creeping ivy, lurked something far more sinister. It was a creature born of the earth, ancient and cunning, with eyes that glowed like burning embers in the darkness. It slithered through the underbrush, its scales gleaming like polished emeralds, its tongue flicking in and out as it tasted the air.

This was the Serpent, the guardian of Ivy's most precious secrets.

The garden was silent tonight, the usual chorus of chirping insects and croaking frogs muted as if the very air was holding its breath. Ivy could feel the tension in the atmosphere, a subtle shift in the balance of her sanctuary. She moved through the garden with the grace of a predator, her long red hair cascading down her back like a waterfall of fire. Her emerald-green eyes scanned her surroundings, alert to every rustle of leaves, every movement in the shadows.

She was the garden's protector, its queen, and she could feel when something was amiss.

Tonight, there was a trespasser.

The Serpent had not stirred in years, content to lie in wait beneath the earth, guarding the secrets that Ivy had entrusted to it. It was a creature born of her powers, summoned from the depths of the earth itself, bound to her will. It was her most loyal servant, her most deadly weapon. But now, it was awake, and that could only mean one thing—someone had come too close to the heart of her domain.

Throwback Wednesday to an old comic!  I remember the first book and the first word that I read by myself (cat!!) because it was an exciting achievement, haha. Something about working hard to figure it out by myself made it feel like a magical discovery. Loved reading ever since! What were your favourite childhood books?
