Time for Aus :D
(Poster/ desings are not final)
Details:
Eclipse:
Takes place after crystallized, the ninja have recovered their powers and got back to the status quo.
Rumors start spreading on the Internet that Kai is actually useless because he's never defeated a supervillain on his own. Kai gets insecure about his worth to the rest of the team, acting more and more rashly out of the need to prove himself. However, everyone else thinks he's overreacting for attention, so in a mission with Lloyd and Nya, after trying too hard and messing up, they snap at him, thinking he just wants to regain his popularity disregarding people's safety.
Much later, Kai is injured on a solo mission and is saved by a mysterious woman (the villain) who secretly aims to manipulate him to turn against the ninja and Ninjago as a whole, taking advantage on his past hardships as a child and his current mixed feelings towards them. She uses dark magic (sort of like Clause) to take and amplify what little is left of the corruption from Chen's elements staff into a mask, to slowly make his own thoughts turn against them all, eroding him from inside out.
At first she convinces him to become a kind of vigilante, killing criminals who might have used him in the past under said mask as Akatora ("Red Tiger"), steadily growing more corrupted.
Once the ninja discover Akatora's true identity, they believe he's being forced to betray them and try to "save" him, which only angers Kai further for not realizing how badly they've treated him.
But when they realize that they're at fault, the team splits in two: Cole, Jay and Pixal can't see a way of saving Kai on time before he self-destructs and takes the entire city down with him; while Lloyd, Nya and Zane try to get him back at all costs.
At first, the villain didn't care which elemental master to use to get the ninja to destroy the city. But upon finding out more about Kai's past, she decides the Ninja are no good for him and wants to "save" him, to get him out of that toxic environment. She even confronts them more than once after taking him under her wing. However, later on she changes her mind...
I have many more details but this is all I'll say for now. I want to make it a realistic and morally grey season where neither the ninja nor Kai are the villain, because the ninja do love Kai, they just have to show it. Also Kai's corruption is going to be slow where you don't really know how of it is Kai's true intentions.
On the road:
This AU is set years after Kai and Nya's parent's disappearence. Despite still living at the blacksmith off Kai's odd jobs, the siblings are fairly neglected by the townspeople of Ignacia. After getting seriously beat up in a fight with some kids who had been passive-agressively bullying Kai for years, they go a little too far by almost killing him and threatening to do the same to Nya. Kai is forced to abandon the hope of their parents ever returning and leaves for Ninjago City with Nya, hoping for a better life.
After travelling for a while they stumble across Ronin. They somehow convince him to take them in for a while in his rudimentary shed and to teach Kai how to hunt and be more self-sufficient for the journey. In the meantime, Nya shows off her handiwork, making toys off scraps for Ronin to sell as thanks. When they decide to part ways, Ronin gives them a map, setting them on the right direction (he's no babysitter, but hey, he actually cared).
Days later, Nya finds a hungry and weary Lloyd along the way, lost after escaping Darkleys and looking for his uncle Wu. After some convincing from Nya, they agree to take him in and start travelling together, eventually bonding and becoming a found family.
The Au is mostly about their (fun) little adventures and Kai being an overstressed mom trying to keep their younger siblings alive and relatively out of trouble (but don't worry, he's actually enjoying it).
In the end, after having taken their shot in Ninjago, they find Wu and are taken in at the monastery. Yes, Wu is actually a good uncle here. They deserve it. Especially Kai.
Kai is 13, Nya 11 and Lloyd 9 (older than canon, no tomorrow's tea)
Feel free to ask any questions about the aus.

TV Tropes has something called "Villain Exclusivity Clause", which is when a work has a single villain who's the main antagonist in every episode. (This was most prevalent in 80's cartoons, like Bionic 6.) Have you seen any shows using that trope? If so, what do you think of it?
Right, I've seen plenty of shows that use this trope really well. SpongeBob, Wander Over Yonder, Pokemon, He-Man, Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, Pucca, and Phineas and Ferb. I think when done well, these shows can provide some of the funniest and most entertaining villains in animation. That said, there are times when it's done poorly like Skunk Fu, Robotboy, Polly Pocket, Ninjago, Middlemost Post, Kick Buttowski and Summer Camp Island where the villains are just incompetent, non-threatening, and pathetic.

Honestly the entire show was a rube gold berg machine
-kai gets his sister kidnapped which leads to the ninja forming and garmadon escaping to wreak havoc in the future
-protecting the peace as the ninja they humiliate lloid which makes him open up the serpentine tombs and that eventually unleashes the great devourer. to stop the great devourer the ninja give their superpowered wepons to garmadon who stops the devourer and garmadon then goes of combines the superweapons into the ultimate weapon and takes the serpentine with him, then he uses the ultimate weapon to time travel looses it and the serpentine dump him out in the ocean
-garmadon washes up on an island that's the dark counterpart to ninjago and meets the ultimate evil, the overlord, works with it to conquer the world accidentally traps the serpentine under ninjago city and the overlord gets defeated by lloid, making garmadon nonevil
-the ninja have to fight the digital remnant of the dark lord, stop the dark lord from getting resurrected through it trying to combine the golden weapons that got sent off to an asteroid and zane sacrifices himself to defeat the powered up overlord
-zane somehow ended up on Chen's island and the ninja participate in a tournament of elemental masters to try and get him back, chen steals the powers of the elemental masters to become anacondrai that half fails and he has to use his daughter instead and succeeds in turning all of his followers into anacondrai to defeat him garmadon sacrifice himself to open up a portal to the cursed realm so the original anacondrai generals take chen and his followers away
-this also releases morrow a ghost who posseses lloyd and acquires the realm crystal to bring the cursed realm into ninjago, nya discovers she's the elemental master of water and the ninja work together to destroy the entire cursed realm
-chens resident wizard, clouse, escaped from the cursed realm when it was brought into ninjago and finds a djin lamp releasing nadakhan who turn clouses wishes against him and basically kills him. Nadakhan then steals the realm crystal and goes to Djinjago, which is currently being destroyed due to the cursed realm no longer existing, because of this he tries to turn ninjago into a new djinjago amd marry nya using the ninja's wishes against them to get rid of his opposition, he succeeds and gets infinite whishes but jay's last wish undoes the entire season by causing clause to never find the lamp
And that's when masters of time begins which while a direct consequence of the serpentine war is not a direct result of something that happened since nya's kidnapping
Ninjago is a real fun take on the "chosen one" trope because the chosen one in question speedruns his childhood hero's journey and fulfills his great big prophecy by the end of season 2 and then they spend the next 6 or so seasons just dealing with the absolute rube goldberg machine of events that consequently follow

Since Chen recommended Garmadon to change the signature in the letter, he could be not only and the owner of Mr. Chen's Noodle House but also a matchmaker!!
he seemed to know that this letter will be the very last push to choose one of the brothers
just imagine, you are walking in Ninjago city and you see flyers and signs with Chen painted on them and the inscriptions: "There is a woman you like and you want her to become yours? Then come to Cupidon Master Chen's studio and I will tell you how with the help of only two things you can make your dream"
and the one person comes to him for advice and he says:
Chen: first you must have a brother....
someone: but i don't have a brother !
Chen: oh, then nothing will work
Someone: what is he for me?
Chen: everything is simple. You must have a brother so that he also falls in love with this girl, so that he then writes a letter declaring his love, so that you can then intercept the letter, change the signature and send it from your name
Someone: and..?
Chen: and then she will receive a letter from you, thinking that you wrote it, and after that you will be a couple, then you will have a wedding and children and you will be happy
Chen: when you pay for this procedure, you will also receive people to intercept your brother's letter so that you can change the signature )
and you know, the person agrees to this, and reads the contract to sign, but there are a lot of clauses, and one of them is written about a warning but in very, very small letters, it says something about a squall:" but then something will happen to you, you will still disappear , and when it's back to normal again, you'll be with your wife again for a while, but you'll have to disappear again and your wife will only miss you for a couple of seconds and forget about you, because your brother will be with her"
#in one post#I already wrote that Garmadon and Misako's relationship is illogical and strange#especially the way we were shown#I will never believe that a woman who had been looking for her husband for several years was so easily glad#to see him when he returned and so easily forgot about him when he sacrificed himself#I am sure that their story could have been shown much better and their emotions towards each other#lego#lego ninjago#lord garmadon#misako garmadon#sensei wu#ninjago wu#ninjago misako#ninjago garmadon#ninjago chen

From a fanfic writer's perspective:
Yeah, there's some stuff that is absolutely inappropriate stereotypes for a kids' show, and there are some seasons that I flat out refuse to write for/about because there is no rehabbing it. Chen and clause are beyond saving, and i strongly recommend skipping the entirety of sky bound and the island to any new watchers.
Cyrus Borg is a borderline caricature half the time, and I end up having to flesh out his character by a lot before I touch him with a ten foot pole.
Pixal, too, because her introduction was ... rough, to say the least.
Nya, at least, is passable most of the time. The earlier seasons are very of their time, but not the worst.
the early seasons have a misogyny baked into the writing that is horrible to watch most of the time.
Misako is a stereotype, too. Let's not forget.
The native tribes in the ice chapter are... fine. It leaps over a very low bar.
The Orientalism in the Harumi introduction is blatant, to say the least.
The designs of the oni people make me borderline uncomfortable. Why are they solid black, why the red eyes, and the loincloths? Just... yeah, I change their appearance whenever I end up using them to more of a metallic, gold statue appearance.
Also, Harumi is like, 16 and wears all black leather and studs. Like, I get she is a part of the biker gang, but ... um... no. Just no. I am not a fan of those vibes. They could have given her a leather jacket and a t-shirt and called it a day, and that's how I usually dress her.
In conclusion, critical thinking is good. Ninjago aged poorly and is riddled with misogyny in its early seasons. Don't use racist stereotypes in writing, even (especially) if it's canon.
I think the Ninjago fandom SERIOUSLY needs to realize that we should not be singing Ninjago, and by extension, Lego's praises every time there's a bit of diversity seen.
Let's not forget, the basis of Ninjago is still completely an Orientalist view of ninjas and a bunch of Asian cultures lazily slapped together.
Let's not forget that every disabled character has been a villain (even if some of them joined the heroes later on that doesn't change much).
Let's not forget one of their disabled villains is literally named fucking Daddy No Legs (I know it's a joke about the daddy long legs spider but it's SO fucked up)...
Let's not forget that the ONLY canonically queer character is ambiguous. We don't know what she identifies with, we just know she's some flavor of queer.
Let's not forget this is the same franchise with the racist caricature that is Chen.
Let's not forget about the "magical islanders who sacrifice someone to their angry god so they don't die".
Sure, there COULD be a chance to finally change and improve but seeing as this show has been going on for 12 years, I highly doubt they're just gonna start doing better rep for anyone possible out of nowhere

Saw someone request Zane from Ninjago so I'd like to throw out Pixal. She is a woman (or the approximation of one, at least), a robot, and her creator is Cyrus Borg, who is a man.
Yes, Primary Interactive External Assistant Life-form AKA PIXAL from Lego: Ninjago could kill Macbeth!
As explained above, she is a female android created by Cyrus Borg, applying her for all three Clauses! Thank you for your submission!

What do you think would have happened in season nine if Nya and Lloyd hadn't found out that the others were alive? Like maybe an AU where they never stop to look at the old pictures, and Mystake never told them for whatever reason.
listen. lisTEN in all honesty i think they would’ve made it through, Lloyd and Nya and co. would’ve just been a lot more depressed through it - i have an entire fic i actually wrote that deals with this very idea for the first nine chapters, and they make it through...mostly okay. HOWEVER - and you put this idea in my head so this is entirely your fault - here is my alternate take:
(let me just slap on the *implied character death* warning i’m soRRY)
The unfortunate thing about committing yourself to a motto that swears you’ll never quit is that it doesn’t account for dying. Lloyd wishes, sometimes, they’d added a clause to that. Something that determined whether or not dying counted as quitting, or if you’re exempted from it, because not quitting is exactly what led you to dying in the first place. Lloyd supposes it doesn’t really matter anymore though, does it.
There’s no one left to call him out on it, anyways.
It’s a suicide charge from the start. No one had called it that, back when they drew up the last-ditch plan in the slums of Ninjago City, but the unspoken weight of it was there. It’d been written in the cold lines of Pixal’s face, in the blankness of Skylor’s expression, the hollow look in Nya’s eyes. Lloyd’s not sure what he’d looked like, but he was sure it’d been much the same, because Nya had clung to him so tightly before they left that it couldn’t be anything else but a goodbye.
She’d promised he’d live, if she could help it, but Lloyd hadn’t seen much point in it.
Dareth had begged them to wait, but there wasn’t much point in that, either. What would they be waiting for, anyways? No one else was coming. There was no one left to end it but them — if they didn’t succeed, that was it. It had almost been comforting, knowing that they wouldn’t be around to face the consequences of their failure this time.
And then Nya had gone and gotten to his father before him.
He should’ve seen it coming. Nya had sworn she’d protect him as long as she had breath in her body, and Lloyd hates her for that promise. He hates her so much, hates her even as his tears soak her hair and she doesn’t move, not to reassure him, not to promise it’ll be alright, not to swipe his tears away with her power as she likes to do. His fingers are shaking so hard as they clutch at her wrist that he can’t tell whether she still has a pulse or not, but he has to — he has to know. He doesn’t want to, but he has to, he has to know if he’s lost her like the others—
His father’s sword comes bearing down at him, stained in Nya’s blood, and Lloyd barely manages to twist her beneath him and move, before his back burns in fiery agony, a strangled scream escaping his lips as Garmadon’s sword drags a gaping wound from his left shoulder to mid-back.
For a half-second, Lloyd thinks he’s dodged the worst of it. Then his father laughs, twirling the sword through the air once, and Lloyd realizes he’s toying with him.
“What did you hope to gain, by murdering her?” Garmadon’s voice blends with the heavy winds that sweep the tower, and Lloyd’s hands tremble violently from a mixture of pain and panic as he tries to staunch the wound that streak across Nya’s middle. “Did you think her loss would cripple me?”
No, Lloyd thinks, through blurring tears. He didn’t. But he didn’t kill Harumi, either. Garmadon did, like he killed his uncle, like he killed his brothers, like he might’ve just killed Nya—
Lloyd swallows a choking cry as his father strikes again, barely evading the slash this time. He pulls Nya tighter to him, and wonders if he’s doing her a disservice by trying so desperately to keep her alive. Wonders if he’s doing himself a disservice. There’s nothing left for them here but the fragile hope that Skylor and Pixal made it out, and Lloyd’s long forgotten what hope feels like. Anything left here beyond his father is hurt, and Lloyd’s so, so very tired of hurting.
At least, on the other side, they’ll have Kai again.
His father scoffs, unfamiliar eyes cold and cruel as he sneers down at him, and Lloyd feels like he’s burning alive.
He’s being selfish, again. He can’t rest yet.
He sets Nya down, carefully as he can, and prays fervently to whoever’s left to hear him that the subtle rattling he feels is her breathing, not his shaking hands. And if that prayer’s answered, he hopes she’ll forgive him.
Nya’s spear is unsteady in his hands as he stands to face his father, but not unfamiliar. She’s shown him how to use it. Lloyd only needs to land one hit.
“I would’ve done almost anything for you,” he rasps, through burning eyes. “Did you know that? I’d have died instead of you that day, if you’d let me.”
Garmadon’s lips curve. “Don’t let me stop you now, then.”
Lloyd dodges the first strike. And the second, and the third, because he’s fought this version of his father before and he knows what to expect now.
The fourth lands somewhere high on his ribs, and a fierce pain sears savagely enough to match the one in his back, sending Lloyd staggering back with a gutted cry. Garmadon stalks forward, tall and ominous and powerful, and Lloyd’s feet slide back across the tower rooftop in terror.
“I’ll give you a choice, how about that,” Garmadon says, as the rooftop edge draws closer. “You can die fighting, or you can die falling. I’ve heard it’s the dragons’ way to fall.”
One hit, Lloyd reminds himself, as his vision swims. Just the one, that’s all.
“I’d fall, if I were you,” Garmadon says, his voice a mockery of the kindness Lloyd once knew. “I won’t show you the same mercy I did at the prison.”
Or, maybe, it doesn’t even need to be a hit, Lloyd thinks.
“I wonder what father would say, could he see me now,” Garmadon continues, his eyes blazing. “The last of our bloodline, down to me and you.”
Just one step further, Lloyd tells himself.
“It’s almost a shame,” Garmadon’s sword flashes at it rises once more. “To cut our family down to one.”
“Yeah,” Lloyd blinks through heavy tears. “It is.”
Garmadon swings. Lloyd steps and twists, Nya’s spear flashing low and he sweeps it into his father’s legs. There’s a jerking wrench as Lloyd kicks out high, another flash of agony as his father’s flailing sword slashes across his shoulder, and a panicked cry.
The cry is quickly lost to the wind as Garmadon falls, plummeting from the tower into the hazy fog of smoke below. Lloyd bites back a cry of his own, and hopes instead that his father was right about falling.
It’s apparently the only mercy he can give him, in the end.
The gravity of what he’s done hits him, and Lloyd staggers forward, his knees buckling as a heavy dizziness hits him. Nya’s crumpled figure blurs and distorts in his vision, and Lloyd’s hands scrape and burn as he struggles to pull himself across the rooftop to her.
He’s so heavy, though. Everything’s so heavy, like he hasn’t slept in ages. The searing agony that’s been pulsing from his ribs doesn’t hurt so much, anymore. In fact, he can’t feel any of the battering bruises that line his body. Even the gaping heartache’s fading into the cold kind of numbness that spreads throughout him, leaving his limbs heavy and senseless.
It’s almost nice, Lloyd thinks. Not feeling so much anymore.
He drags himself another foot forward, coughing wetly. An ugly red stains the back of his hand, but there’s so much of the color now he can’t tell where it begins and ends. He blinks hard, willing his arms to go further. If he can reach Nya — if he can just reach Nya—
Lloyd’s arms give out just as dark spots begin to stain his vision, and he barely manages to roll onto his back. He can’t. He can’t reach Nya and he can’t save his brothers and he can’t save himself and he can’t, he—
He’s done enough, right?
He hopes so, Lloyd thinks, as he watches the sky flicker in and out. His dimming eyes catch on a burst of bright light from somewhere in the fading blue, just before darkness fully claims his vision.
It’s not so bad, he tells himself. There’s a dull roaring in the distance, but it’s a nice sound, one that reminds him of something he’d heard when he was younger. That’s not so bad to go out to.
He already thinks he hears Kai calling his name again.

Oni Misako au when Oni Misako lands in the canon version of ninjago during season 9
Canon Misako: So uh how’s the relationship with uh your Wu?
Oni Misako: Oh I would gladly trade Wu away for a corn chip.
Canon Misako: Why?
Oni Misako: Oh other me it’s for a lot of reasons. One, lots of tension from our respective species and the long war we have had. Two, Wu is a little bitch who can’t handle a bit of blood. Three, I’m petty. Four, he’s just jealous I get a good chunk of Garm’e time. Five, did I mention he’s a little bitch?
Canon Misako: Valid. But uh any other times you’ve gotten along with him?
Oni Misako: Killing that pathetic wizard Clause. Clause was trying to claim something that was mine and he suffered for it.
Um, correction, she would trade the corn chip to GET RID of Wu.
-Ivy

Here’s a fun little exercise. I went through season by season to asses if Harumi’s insistence that the Ninja (and Lloyd in particular) are the ones causing destruction in Ninjago holds up.
Season 1: Yeah actually. Lloyd opened up the Serpentine tombs and enabled Pythor to awaken the Great Devourer. In his defense, Lloyd was like nine.
Season 2: No, the destruction this season is all due to Lord Garmadon (Or rather, the Overlord corrupting Garmadon)
Season 3: 100% the Overlord. Some might argue Cyrus Borge played a hand in it as well, but he was an unwitting pawn.
Season 4: Chen was pulling the strings from start to finish.
Season 5: Garmadon and Wu are both at fault. Garmadon for opening the Cursed Realm, and Wu for being a bad mentor to Morro.
Season 6: Garmadon again, Clause was only able to escape because he opened the Cursed Realm.
Season 7: All on Wu for being an idiot and not bringing backup.
Season 8: Congratulations Harumi, you brought back the guy who was at the root of the problem for 3 out of the 7 previous seasons.

Ninjago angst week - Day 4: Helpless
@ninjago-angst-week
Basically Garmadon feeling helpless throughout different parts of his life.
//implied death//
—————
It started when he was just a child.
It started with that stupid snake. When the Great Devourer bit him he didn't think much of it at first. Yes, the bite hurt and it took some time to recover from the venom, and yes he may have lost his temper that day.
In his defence, if his brother just went to get the katana himself this wouldn't have happened to him! It was all Wu's fault! He keeps getting him into trouble!
It wasn't too bad though. Well, not at the start.
At first he was just grumpier. And he started losing his temper more often. Whatever, maybe it was just puberty.
But as the years went by it only got worse. His anger outbursts were happening more often and were getting worse.
Why did he sign his name on that letter? It wasn't right! His little brother must have put so much time and effort in it. But if it was wrong, why did he feel so good doing it?
He tried so hard to get rid of those bad feelings, but he just couldn't!
Yes, what he did was bad- he had to keep reminding himself it was bad- but now he's married to the love of his life and they were expecting a child!
He should be happy about that. He loves kids! And he's always wanted to be a dad! But he just can't stop thinking- what if he hurts the child?
He gets so out of control sometimes, what if one day he attacked his child? He didn't even want to imagine that.
The venom kept getting stronger until it took over one day.
He didn't want to hurt his little brother. They have always been best friends growing up. But he couldn't stop himself from attacking him.
When he was little he believed he would protect Ninjago with his brother. Now he was stuck in the Underworld, away from his infant son, his wife, his brother.
He doesn't know if he will ever see them again, and if he does, what will he do to them now that he was no longer in control of some of his actions?
-----
He wasn't sure how the Hands of Time were here. Just minutes ago they disappeared in time and seconds after returned from the future with an entire army.
An army they didn't know how to beat.
Every time they took out a warrior it just reformed again! The entire elemental alliance was fighting and they were still loosing!
He had already lost any hope of victory.
Ray and Maya were the ones who saved the day. He wasn't sure why they were dressed the way they were, or how they knew the way to defeat these warriors, but it didn't really matter.
Unfortunately not even they could do much when the snakes slithered into the Iron Doom and brought it to life.
His enemies were holding his brother, talking about how they were about to destroy the entire alliance and take over the world and all he could do was stand there and watch.
-----
Why couldn't Lloyd just listen to him? Just this one time! He told him to leave, to never look back. Of course, the stubborn boy disobeyed and tried to help him.
Garmadon knew Lloyd was trying to do the best thing, but if the Overlord was after his power, the best thing was to run.
His brother was holding him on the edge of the mechanical dragon's mouth. It was a long way down to the ocean.
He didn't care if he fell, not if it means his son would stay safe.
But he wasn't safe. He got caught, and Garmadon couldn't help him.
He promised to defend him, to keep him safe, and he failed.
He couldn't even protect his own child.
-----
The cursed realm was lonely.
Being chained up was quite uncomfortable as well. Stuck in one position. Forever.
He could sometimes hear distant voices from other cells. At this point even Chen's voice complaining about everything for the millionth time and Clause agreeing with him was nice to hear.
It's simply better than silence. He used to enjoy some silence, a bit of peace and quiet during an otherwise busy day. But spending days in silence and without any contact with other people? It was torture.
He tried to pass the time by getting lost in his thoughts. He mostly thought about Lloyd. He wondered what his son was doing and if he was okay. He thought about all the times they spent together. He tried to imagine what he was doing right now.
Now he could really appreciate every second he spent with his family.
He had enough time to think about every second of good memories.
Afterall, he was stuck here, chained up forever. And there was nothing anyone could do about it.

@cometcalloway asked:
one villain enjoyer to another, do you have any 🔥 on villain characters?
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
I don’t know if this is unpopular or not, but I haven’t heard it expressed much. I HATE it when villains are cured through supernatural means. Examples I can think of are Jack Frost from ‘the Santa Clause 3′, Mr. Canis from ‘Sisters Grimm’ and Lord Garmadon in ‘Ninjago’. It’s always such a cop out and awkward, especially if they end up sticking around afterwards as cured villains because they act nothing like their old selves, it’s basically a completely different character. I think the first example was the worst because unlike the other two he didn’t even want to be cured. Being a villain was just his natural state so he felt like some kind of gross mind wiping thing. As much as I like the Grinch, he also falls into that creepy brainwashed niceness category. Ew.
Second, I really don’t like villains who are disgusted by their own evil. Like regretting your actions to some degree is one thing and it can be humanizing and make them deep, but they sound also have some level of conviction for why they continued to do certain bad things if they’re not going to change. I guess he’s not really a villain but Lucifer season 4 was sort of unbearable to me for this. Funny story, I actually initially picked up Lucifer as a hate watch because I expected it to be hilariously bad like Twilight, but it did have moments of quality! The last season and season 2 were genuinely really good, but a lot of the writing in the middle was just... so trite.
On a more positive note, Commander Rourke from Atlantis is cool! They did really good making a villain that was very interesting and funny, but not the usually over the top Disney villain. Also one of the few that avoids the villainizing of the queer community while still being awesome.
