Sonic Replacement au

an au idea I've had for awhile.

Sonic isn't rescued during Sonic Forces and remains missing after the war. Eggman makes a machine that can switch Sonic and Metal Sonic's minds. Metal gets trained on how to fight and function as an organic and Eggman enjoys having control over Sonic. Months after the war ends, and people are questioning whether Someone is even alive or not, Metal shows up at Tails's hangar in Sonic's body. Metal tires to act like Sonic, but is pretty bad at it. Tails and Amy think he's acting strange because he was captured for almost an entire year, which they aren't really wrong about. As time passes with Metal playing the role of their friend he actually starts to care about them because they treat him with kindness and care. While Metal is experiencing freedom and the power of friendship, Sonic is suffering being stuck in a body that isn't his and having his freewill messed with.

How George and Harold met

Meet George, he's the kid with the afro and suit. Remember that now. This is the day that he meets his best friend. But before I can tell you that story, I need to tell you this story.

George was a smart kid, a very smart kid. He was reading at a second grade level in pre K. His parents wanted him to be challenged in school but didn't want him to be surrounded by kids that were so much older than him, so they had him skip a grade. George loved to write, and he often would. His teachers found his little stories to be rather crude but his classmates loved them! It all changed when the Beard family moved. His parents wanted him to make a good first impression at the new school, and as the youngest in the first grade class he was nervous. George did well in school, he was polite and followed the rules like his parents told him to, he still wrote his silly stories but was too nervous to share them with his new classmates. Most of the kids didn't like him. They were upset that some little kid was getting better grades then them. They talked bad about him behind his back, and soon most of the school knew him as some stuck up smarty-pants. It didn't help that he became a hall monitor soon after school started.

Now that you know who George is, let's get back to how he met his best friend. George was walking to school when he saw a group of big kids, probably in sixth grade, walking and laughing. As they walked away they revealed a blonde kid with a terrible haircut, probably in kindergarten. The kid was on the floor and the contents of his backpack scattered around him. George went over to the beaten kid and offered his hand. The kid took it and as George helped him up, the kid flinched. "Are you alright?" George asked as he put his arm by his side. The blonde kid lifted his shirt slightly to look at his side, it was already bruising. "I'll be fine," he pulled his shirt back down and turned to gather his things. George picked up some loose pieces of paper, they each had a drawing on them. George admired the pictures before handing them to the other kid. "Who were those kids anyways?" The blonde's bag now on his back. "Uhmm... That... That was Kipper and his friends, they... do this a lot." He turned and began walking to school. "What school do you go to?" George asked as he started walking beside the other kid. "Horwitz Elementary... Why?" George nodded at the answer. "That means you, Kipper, and me all go to the same school." "...and why does that matter?" "Because it means we can report Kipper and his friends to principal" George smiled slightly at his plan. "Are you sure? I mean, Kipper is the principal's nephew." The blonde kid said while adjusting his grip on his bag's straps. "Principal Krupp wouldn't let something like that stop him from giving those bullies what they deserve, besides with you and your bruise for evidence there's no way he wouldn't believe us" George stated, rather proud of himself. "Oh! I nearly forgot." George stopped and turned to the other kid, who also stopped. "I am George Beard, and you are?" He asked as he held out his hand for a handshake. "I... I'm Harold Hutchins" Harold said as he took George's hand.
