Hey, is there a term for when one's identity falls between voluntary and involuntary?

I grew up with cats, which is why I chose a black cat as my link type, but... Idk sometimes I feel as if my coat color is switching around without me choosing that??

Same with size or gender? And I also get shifts without actively thinking about them- I even get dysphoric about not being a cat!!

Actually, me finding that picture of the tuxedo cat made me incredibly euphoric?? Like... That's me that's me that's me!!! But I didn't... Choose that?

So those parts are definitely involuntary, but I can still choose to NOT be a cat you know??? I don't really see myself as a cat, only when I choose to? But then again... Not... Always?? I actually confirmed cat as my theriotype, but then deconfirmed it again for that very reason.. It just didn't feel right- but now it does? And tomorrow it won't again

I mapped out my alterhuman identities.

(The sliders are in arbitrary positions as it's meant to show how my kintypes fluctuate; which I imagine kind of like a soundboard. The grey box next to "doll trapped" is a checkbox.)

I learned a lot of new terms and concepts at Othercon and have done a lot of reflecting and introspecting. I've finally officially decided to be a catlinker and I've reconsider my stance that the term "therian" doesn't apply to me. I've decided that it does.I've also come to the realization that it feels kind of like my light kintype has its own kintypes due to a panelist mentioning a nesting doll kintype situation. I don't believe my alterhumanity has anything to do with past lives personally (the octoling kardiatype is due to basically what I would describe as a parallel life that's been manifested into CyanTide (previself party member)), but I'm sure there could be other causes. Maybe more parallel lives. I'm pretty sure that's the case with my aliedragon (MoonLighter) kintype, as manifested in Glow Bright (previme party member).

Also, I don't have a good term for when I'm trapped in a doll. It's not a kintype or a paratype or a hearttype or a hearthome or anything. My anymic glitchy kintype is kind of like a spirit and a specter, but it's not a ghost. Even still, it's like sometimes it's bound to this old doll and gets trapped inside against its will. Not always, though. Sometimes I fel like this feeling bleeds through to my altereldritch form.

★Use reblogs! Because of the lack of algorithm, likes don't do much except curate your "for you" page.

★Don't censor "bad" words, it makes filtering content hard and it's just annoying. Ex: use "kill" instead of "unalive"

My identity as a cat falls under the label of otherchain, which for me, means that even though my identity as a cat is voluntary, certain aspects of said identity are not, and fluctuate around

I chose cat as my linktype because I grew up with them and consider myself as having been "raised" by cats to some degree

My identity seems to be that of a friendly, male domestic cat which likes to cuddle, but sometimes fluctuates to a feral female barn cat???

The coat as well as the size of my identities change a lot, and therefore, is difficult for me to pin down, but I tend to feel most like a small, mostly black cat? Sometimes it changes to a large, brown tabby- or... An orange tabby? No idea-

The female cat identity seems to be rather small? But I don't know the coat color

Age is all over the place- I'm so confused
