Okay can alterhuman Tumblr do its thing and properly explain to me what it means to be otherkin CAUSE EVERYONE IS SAYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT

I learned that, being otherkin means to identify as a nonhuman being that does not act in an animalistic way, for example, an elf, or a mermaid!

Someone can be dragon otherkin, meaning that they identify as a dragon with a more human mindset, maybe like Smaug from "The Hobbit"! If the dragon has a more animalistic mindset, the label "theriomythic" is commonly used instead

Is that true tho?? I see a TON of people calling themselves otherkin, when I've been told that the definition "theriomythic" would be much more accurate

White Peach and Rose Sorbet

4 cups white peaches, sliced

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

2 Tbsp. rose water

1 cup sugar

½ cup water

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

rose petals for garnish

In a medium pot, combine the peaches, lemon juice, rose water, sugar and water to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until the sugar has dissolved and the peaches are soft.

Let the mixture cool for about 15 minutes, then pour the contents into the jar of a blender. Puree on high until the mixture is very smooth. Add extra 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and quickly blend for a few more seconds.

Pour the sorbet mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to directions or just pour it into a metal loaf pan and put in the freezer. Either way, the sorbet should be in the freezer at least 6 to 8 hours.

I mapped out my alterhuman identities.

I learned a lot of new terms and concepts at Othercon and have done a lot of reflecting and introspecting. I've finally officially decided to be a catlinker and I've reconsider my stance that the term "therian" doesn't apply to me. I've decided that it does.I've also come to the realization that it feels kind of like my light kintype has its own kintypes due to a panelist mentioning a nesting doll kintype situation. I don't believe my alterhumanity has anything to do with past lives personally (the octoling kardiatype is due to basically what I would describe as a parallel life that's been manifested into CyanTide (previself party member)), but I'm sure there could be other causes. Maybe more parallel lives. I'm pretty sure that's the case with my aliedragon (MoonLighter) kintype, as manifested in Glow Bright (previme party member).

Also, I don't have a good term for when I'm trapped in a doll. It's not a kintype or a paratype or a hearttype or a hearthome or anything. My anymic glitchy kintype is kind of like a spirit and a specter, but it's not a ghost. Even still, it's like sometimes it's bound to this old doll and gets trapped inside against its will. Not always, though. Sometimes I fel like this feeling bleeds through to my altereldritch form.

Inari Elegance Makeup Style

1. Fox Eye Illusion

• Technique:

• The eyes are the focal point of this makeup style, designed to create an elongated, almond shape reminiscent of a fox’s gaze.

• Use a thin, fine brush to apply a deep, earthy brown or auburn eyeshadow, sweeping it upwards from the outer corners of the eyes to extend and lift the eye shape.

• Apply a light dusting of finely milled translucent powder, focusing on the T-zone to keep the glow controlled while maintaining the natural luminosity.

• Use a highlighter with a golden or pearlescent sheen on the high points of the face: the tops of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and the brow bone. The highlighter should be blended seamlessly for a subtle glow rather than an intense shine.

3. Kitsune Blush

• Technique:

• The blush should be applied in a way that enhances the face’s natural contours, giving a youthful and slightly mischievous appearance.

• A soft peach or coral blush is ideal, applied in a sweeping motion from the apples of the cheeks towards the temples, creating a lifted effect.

• For a more traditional touch, a tiny amount of red blush can be added to the very center of the cheeks and the tip of the nose, mimicking the natural flush seen in some traditional Japanese art.

4. Gradient Lips

• Technique:

• Ears and Tail Integration:

• If the kitsune is in a more traditional form, incorporating makeup that blends seamlessly with their fur (e.g., highlighting the base of the ears or the top of the forehead where the fur meets the skin) would be ideal.

Shout out to Kaden from Fire Emblem Fates for helping me figure out I'm something similar to a kitsune. Kaden and Selkie always made me feel super shifty. I remember telling my sister something like "Screw all this. I want to run away with Kaden and Selkie and Kana and just live out the rest of my days as a kitsune dragon" and basically had my player character in fox gear the whole game. Looking at Kaden and Selkie always felt kind of looking at a reflection of myself in a way, and I had realized I felt similarly about other kitsune character in the past. Had to sit down and do a good think on all that.

So i had a memory in my dream last night of being a large shape-shifting white and blue fox with a misty form and two tails (like the image above). It's been plaguing my mind. It's the first time I've drempt of a memory. I've always had a bit of a connection to foxes, but saying i was just a fox, therian felt wrong. I am a polytherian (Black wolf, Crow, maine coon cat, and an octopus) but i think i might also be a Kitsunekin. I did a bit of research, and the 'Kaze Kitsune' felt closest to what i felt. But im not sure. If anyone has more information to help me, that would be greatly appreciated!

Here you go! I hope it turned out good. It was a bit of a struggle to find the right pictures, but I tried my best <:)

Rose Petal Jam

100g rose petals

300g (1½ cups) sugar

juice of ½ a lemon

5-6g of agar-agar

Immerse the roses in a basin of cold water and gently detach the petals, taking care to remove any aphids or other small creatures.

Cook the rose petals with the sugar, lemon and 3¼ cup of water. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes, without boiling. The water will turn pink and the petals will turn grey.

Strain to keep only the pink juice. Let cool.

Measure the juice obtained and add the equivalent of 6g of agar-agar per liter (4¼  cups) obtained.

Bring the mixture to the boil and simmer for 30 seconds.

Pour into jars and let cool.

Being kitsunekin is so strange because it feels like being foxkin sometimes.

I think it’s cause I possess both a humanoid and fox form, but I don’t know.

Sometimes all I want to do is lounge in a hotspring in my humanoid form, all relaxed with my seven fluffy tails swishing lazily in the water and others I just want to run about as a fox, stealing foods and trinkets I take a liking to and causing mischief and sometimes outright chaos for the unsuspecting humans to have to clean up in my wake.
