I mapped out my alterhuman identities.
(The sliders are in arbitrary positions as it's meant to show how my kintypes fluctuate; which I imagine kind of like a soundboard. The grey box next to "doll trapped" is a checkbox.)
I learned a lot of new terms and concepts at Othercon and have done a lot of reflecting and introspecting. I've finally officially decided to be a catlinker and I've reconsider my stance that the term "therian" doesn't apply to me. I've decided that it does.I've also come to the realization that it feels kind of like my light kintype has its own kintypes due to a panelist mentioning a nesting doll kintype situation. I don't believe my alterhumanity has anything to do with past lives personally (the octoling kardiatype is due to basically what I would describe as a parallel life that's been manifested into CyanTide (previself party member)), but I'm sure there could be other causes. Maybe more parallel lives. I'm pretty sure that's the case with my aliedragon (MoonLighter) kintype, as manifested in Glow Bright (previme party member).
Also, I don't have a good term for when I'm trapped in a doll. It's not a kintype or a paratype or a hearttype or a hearthome or anything. My anymic glitchy kintype is kind of like a spirit and a specter, but it's not a ghost. Even still, it's like sometimes it's bound to this old doll and gets trapped inside against its will. Not always, though. Sometimes I fel like this feeling bleeds through to my altereldritch form.
Shout out to u/GhostOrchidGynoid on Reddit for coining the term alterfae (https://www.reddit.com/r/alterhuman/s/uRxk7tnKpE) and the alie- prefix; I am expanding their definitions past just fae for my altereldritch, alterkitsune, and aliedragon kintypes.
Feel free to ask me about any unfamiliar terms.

FOP: ANW episode idea! (ft. a fairy species we came up with)
“Split Decision”
Plot: Hazel sees what happens when a fairy's mind splits and meets an alterfae for the very first time
For some context:
Just like how the human mind can split after a traumatic event, the fairy mind can also split, thus forming an alterfae (a species of fairy). Alterfaes are easily recognizable, often having multiple eyes and limbs. They no longer need a wand for magic (but can still have one if they want to), since the extra limbs help with extra magic storage within the body.
For this episode concept, we will be using our alterfae sona, Star (they need to be redesigned since we got a new alter recently)
- - - - - - - - -
So the episode starts off as normal. Hazel, Winn and Jasmine hanging out in the apartment with Cosmo and Wanda (+ Peri if you wanna include him). Winn is busy learning how to finger-board from Cosmo (you know those mini skateboards for your fingers? Cosmo's teaching them tricks on that), Wanda's showing Jasmine how to play chess, while Hazel is by a bookshelf when she spots something..
“A Guide to the Fairy Mind”
Curious, she starts reading it. She's invested! Especially once she gets to the part about when the mind splits. The mind can split? Yep! It can! After reading a bit, she starts asking Cosmo and Wanda (or Peri) about it. She finally gets the explanation she's been looking for
“You see…after a really scary, traumatic incident…that fear sticks with you. That memory changes a fairy. The stress starts getting too much, and to help cope, the mind starts to split into different people. These people would have to share a body, thus forming the fairy system, or alterfae!”
Winn and Jasmine are curious now too. An alterfae? That sounded so cool! Hazel thought the same, and made the wish to meet one! POOF!
Meet Star!
Everyone looks at them in awe, admiring their strange (but interesting) appearance. They had 4 eyes, each one representing a different alter in their system (one pink with a white pupil, a red and blue one with a white pupil, a yellow one with a white pupil, and a black one with a yellow X for a pupil), and 4 arms. Their outfit is also a combination of every alter's fashion sense.
Hazel is ecstatic. So is everyone else. After a bit of pleading, Star tells their story and what it’s like being what they are. It’s not that bad once they’re used to it. Eventually, they do have to get back home and leave the group, who were happy to have learned something new today!
(let us know if we represented anything wrong, we did mostly go off our own experience as a system for the most part!!)

oh yeah alterhumanity updates because othercon:
-wicklow mountains are my hearthome!
-i know this has been kind of a gradual change for the last while, but I'm comfortable calling myself a therian now :3 i think I'll start calling myself a "linked therian" or "otherlinker therian" or something as a main label now :33 (got the dual citizenship B])
-questioning/considering the alterfae label! (my goat ID is related to the fae somewhat sometimes)
-want to do more with alterreality
