911 really is such a good reminder of the particularly kind of joy that is weekly, seasons-long shows with many episodes per season. every character gets a moment to shine even in a truncated season. the satisfaction of seeing characters grapple with stuff that happened YEARS ago. having multi-episode arcs and one-off arcs that are equally enjoyable. beach episodes (metaphorical). I know we're all saying this all the time but why can't more tv be like this

One thing I was so sure I did not want from this show was for there to ever be a situation where it seemed like TK and Carlos separating was even a possibility. They're soulmates! I wanted that to be unthinkable. Something that was never even on the table.

Then, in this episode, we're presented with this conflict that is a potentially relationship-breaking conflict. TK is not going to let his brother get sent to boarding school. That is very clear! He isn't going to force Carlos into this, but if Carlos ultimately does not want to take Jonah in, I don't think TK would be choosing his husband over his brother here. It would DESTROY TK. It would ruin his life! But he's not going to be able to abandon his brother.

So the show did the exact thing I thought I never wanted to see. And you know what? I LOVED IT. I loved every second of it!! I think it was so incredibly well done.

And I think the reason it didn't bother me when previously I thought I would never want something like this is that, while this situation could be relationship breaking, I know it isn't going to be. Not just because we've been assured time and time again that Tarlos is endgame and they're getting a happily ever after, but because JUST LOOK AT CARLOS' FACE when he talks about Jonah and when he looks at pictures of TK and Jonah 😭 Carlos already loves that little boy and he loves his husband so much!! He wants this. He just needs a little time to work through it, particularly given the extreme situation and immense grief and trauma he's going through.

It's VALID of Carlos to need a minute here. And I think it's VALID of TK to be committed to helping his brother and unwilling to back down from that. The conflict between them hurts, but that's just going to make the resolution that much more beautiful! It's SO BEAUTIFUL 😭

Mind you people say Kanye is acting out to this very day cause he lost his mom years and years ago. Megan hasn’t even gotten a fraction of that grace!

everyone cares about mental health when it comes to Kanye and excuses his antics. You can find articles about his guilt surrounding her death in 2023!!!

but Meg must take full personal responsibility regardless. Megan lost her mom even younger than he did. We don’t see black women as human.

i've been getting a lot of comments on my post about how the writers have "ruined" jace and rhaenyra's relationship. but. my guys. it's never been a good or healthy relationship anyway! or at least it hasn't been for the past six years since jace found out he wasn't laenor's son. this hasn't happened to me but i can imagine it's difficult to have a truly good relationship with someone who has lied to you from the start and who /to this day/ still doesn't dare admit the truth. it's not a lie to say rhaenyra and jace love each other but it's not a lie either to say rhaenyra doesn't respect jace and is unable to put himself in his shoes, while jace resents her and is just now realizing she has more than a bit of guilt on all that has been tormenting him.

they both have put an opaque screen in front of them and through it they've been interacting and seeing each other since harwin died. jace's just barely realizing he has one and it's cleaning the glass while rhaenyra has known it since the beginning and doesn't wish it to go away. it's a really complex relationship but to say it's only /now/ that's been ruined when in most of their interactions rhaenyra is shutting him down or gaslighting the hell out of him......... sorry i just don't see it.

Dr Ter is short for Terrible cause that’s what he has shown to us -

Time and time again he has shown to us viewers he disrespect Dee’s boundaries and presume Dee will fall back to adoring him

1) The audacity of the man to casually agree on behalf of Dee to present their work together (despite the obvious discomfort it causes Dee)

2) Assuming Dee will happily spend extra days with him exploring Tokyo and pushing back their flight dates

3) Pushing into his space without permission and basically making Dee confuse and wary

4) Even in Dee’s imaginative mind, it seems he is cringing while expecting the kiss from Ter (blergh 🤢)

5) And poor Dr Khwan, who has a gigantic crush on Ter but basically just being used by Ter

Leading me to say - LEAVE YAKDEE alone 😤

I have so many thoughts about this series, esp after watching ep 3..but they are pretty scattered and messy

Minase is just....living....he has thrown away his wishes and aspirations in a ditch and is living in a way that ensures peace in his family and with his friends...with Hirukawa, that wall starts to crumble....he somehow feels at ease with this guy who is also living a hellish life...though not in a way that is same as his...they find some comfort in each other and Minase is just getting pulled into Hirukawa's orbit....

The ease is not exactly that they are extremely happy or anything but just that they find comfort in the other person...that they feel they can be their true selves with each other and don't have to put up a show...Hirukawa is changing as he is getting more acquainted with Minase and Minase is also at much more ease with him than those first impressions he made...How they finally become each other's freedom and comfort spot is what we shall see ahead...

I've just watched "Mastermind"... twice in a row. I kind of want to scream something because it's all I've f*cking wanted and I love them all so much. But I don't want to be spoilery and people have screamed it better than I can already. So just have my October Stolitz, guys. I'm going to go and make them hug now. And I’ll post some more tomorrow because I’ll still be processing the beautiful thing this episode was.
