10 things Matty does as a dad
A/n: the brain rot will not stop so….
Warnings: none
————
Freak out at the hospital when the nurse hands him his newborn baby for the first time. “Oh gosh what if I drop her.” “Oh she’s so small. How can a person be so small.” “hi little one. I’m your daddy it’s so good to meet you.” “I love you already.”
Gets up every single time the baby does. Even though he and the wife have a schedule and it hinges upon one of them being awake and alert when the other isn’t. So it defeats the purpose for him to wake up every time but he insists he’d just feel guilty if he kept sleeping while his wife and child are awake at night.
Takes a year off from work. No producing. No writing for other artists. No 1975 stuff. He might scribble stuff down or try ideas if something comes to him. But he’s not like actively trying to make a record at all. So, he stays with the baby at home all day when the missus gets back to work and gets really into baby nutrition. Reading books on obscure health benefits of rare oils and extracts. Tries to buy a bunch of them online.
Oh the online shopping. When it’s late at night and he’s rocking the baby back to sleep and he’s kinda sleep deprived, he makes questionable decisions. Buys every toy that markets itself as “educational.” Or important to kids cognitive development or whatever. His missus has to institute a rule where they need to donate 2 old toys for each new toy they purchase.
The pediatrician tells him that talking and reading to the baby is important in order to make sure they acquire the strongest vocabulary by age 3. So he starts to read to her regularly. First, it’s children’s books. But then it progresses to whatever he can find around the house. Grocery lists, the blender manual, song lyrics, emails. He even does different voices and sound effects to keep things interesting.
He asks his baby girl for her input on music even before she’s old enough to understand what she’s really saying. “Come here, daddy wants to show you something. What do you think? You like it?”
Let’s her design tour posters/ album cover/ merch graphics
Establishes a regular dad-daughter date. Even when she’s an infant. A whole day of just the two of them. It starts out as just him needing to prove to himself that he could take care of her all day without asking for help from anyone. But he just keeps doing it as time goes by. It becomes a bonding experience. As she grows up, they start to use this time to talk about school, what she’s into, her friends, etc.
Cries when she’s sick. The missus will be like “matty, children get the sniffles sometimes. She’ll be okay. This is fine. Necessary even! For her immune system.” But he’s just like “she’s so miserable and can hardly breathe poor girl.” He’s practically a mess when she gets the chickenpox. All his memories of getting it or watching his brother get it mean nothing to him. He acts as if his kid is the first and last one to ever get sick on parent earth.
He watches YouTube tutorials to learn to do various hair styles just to impress her by offering her options when she asks him to help her do her hair for school in the morning.

I’m gonna share another very useful approach to life as an adult with ADHD: cooking and nutrition edition.
The American idea that dinner is “meat/protein with a veggie and a side” and that this is somehow an easy thing to prepare is a lie. That’s so much work. Sometimes I like making a meal that requires a lot of effort but that’s not sustainable for my average weeknight dinner.
I would like to instead introduce you to my world of Sauce Based Cooking. It is predicated on the idea that the “one pan meal” is not a category of recipe but rather a decision made by the chef. There are some deviations (some meals require a pasta pot and/or sheet pan) but that’s still way less than a lot of recipes call for. If it requires a blender, simply close the link and step away.
Rules for Sauce Based Cooking Freedom:
Have more spices/flavorful pastes than you know what to do with. Better than Bouillon and miso paste and curry paste and spice mixes etc etc. You are not running an authentic Tex-Mex restaurant from your kitchen just get the taco seasoning packets.
If you eat meat, you should be buying bone-in skin-on chicken thighs. Not chicken breasts. You can braise a chicken thigh for two hours and it will only get tastier and better. Cooking a chicken breast is stressful and requires a level of precision im not prepared to give to a chicken.
Focus on learning to make tasty BASES. You have learned if you make it and it tastes good to you. Nail down a good cream sauce, perfect your 20 minute marinara, learn a coconut curry, figure out the basic components of a marinade. Add some ground ginger to your chicken soup and thank me later. Then cooking is just beating protein and veggies into submission under your sauces and above your grains.
Don’t try and make ~dishes~. I call this “Zelda cooking.” You need something that you enjoy eating and gives you the nutrients you need to function. Prep vegetables and proteins you like and dump them into a sauce you also like. Add some polenta or bread or rice or couscous or any other grain to soak up the sauce and make it filling and satisfying. 9 times out of 10 it’s gonna work. The only decision you need to make is the flavor profile of the sauce.
Buy the precut vegetables. I know. It feels wasteful. So much plastic. But I promise you it’s way more wasteful to throw out half your groceries and order Uber eats 5 days in a row because you never managed to chop an onion. It’s okay. Precut/frozen vegetables and canned ingredients and prepared food items are going to be your lifeline. I can turn a rotisserie chicken and plastic tub of mirepoix (pre chopped onions, celery and carrots) into a delectable soup with just things in my pantry at this very moment.
Same as above but line the pan with foil. Save yourself a dish.
Add at least one vegetable to everything you cook. This might be controversial but you need fiber. And all sorts of other vitamins and minerals that things like kale and carrots and sweet potatoes have. My go to is canned chickpeas. A jar of marinara plus some canned chickpeas and kale is suddenly a hearty and filling topping for pasta that’s gonna satisfy me way more than just the pasta and sauce. And all I had to do was dump a can and a bag into the pot. That’s not a dish that really exists or has a recipe but it’s Sauce Based and I eat it a lot.
Keep some fortified cereal (most cereal is fortified by default) and trail mix on hand. Sometimes I get in a funk and order a lot of takeout or just eat a lot of carbs and not much else and then get woozy because I’m a little dumb and don’t eat a lot of animal products so all my Nutrients are low and that makes cooking harder. Fortified cereal and trail mix together will have most of the stuff you need to get rid of the lightheaded wooziness (iron and b12 and fats and sugar) in a dense little package that’s easy to munch on while cooking.
Finally, I know online recipes and Pinterest are great and wonderful but get proper cookbooks whenever you can. The first reason is that even with AdBlocker online recipes are a minefield and can be distracting and frustrating and overwhelming which are all things you don’t want when knives and hot pans are around. The second is that you will learn so much about cooking from a proper cookbook and the better you are at cooking the easier and faster it goes. ThriftBooks has plenty as will your local library or even older relatives. Ones like “Cook What You Have” by Christopher Kimball and “The New York Times Cooking No-Recipe Recipes” book and the classic “The Art of Simple Food” by Alice Waters are great.

Note
you mentioned recently that you really like your immersion blender. what’s it called? could you share the link? i’m interested in getting one myself, also for soups!
sure! i got this one from walmart for about $35 (USD) - it's the Kitchenaid KHB1231 2-speed hand blender, and it has worked quite well so far, although i haven't had it for terribly long so i can't make any claims yet about its longevity. but it does what i need it to do! i am wanting to make a smoothie with some frozen fruit today so i will report back how it handles that, but for soups so far it has been great. apparently the walmart version does not come with the little plastic "pan protector" clip-on, which may come with it if you buy it from a local cooking supply place or directly from Kitchenaid, but honestly i probably wouldn't be using that piece much anyway even if i did have it. the metal blade cover has been working just fine, and i have no plans to try blending inside a non-stick pan.
additional optional details because i typically give way more info than necessary: i went with the Kitchenaid rather than the slightly cheaper Hamilton Beach option that my local walmart also had because a few online reviews claimed the cheaper one tends to overheat, may impart a "plasticky" taste to food when that happens (which i know i am personally super sensitive to - i even had to stop using a really nice-looking pourover set i bought in the past that has a bunch of plastic seams in the metal filter because i could always smell and taste plastic in the coffee it made, so that was a deal-breaker for me) and doesn't last as long, which has been my experience with some other appliances i've owned from that brand as well. i'm not a huge fan of Hamilton Beach as far as quality goes, although their stuff does tend to be more affordable. the Hamilton Beach one is about $10 cheaper and comes with a whisk attachment as well, if that sways you. personally since I already own a hand mixer i knew i wouldn't really use the whisk part anyway, and it was worth it to me to pay a little more for something that is likely to last a bit longer. but ymmv!

Tamales Dulces (Sweet Tamales)
Prep: 50 mins Cook: 90 mins Total: 2 hrs 20 mins Yield: 20 tamales
 Ingredients
 For the Hibiscus Jam Filling
   1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
2 whole cardamom pods, lightly cracked open
   2 whole cloves
   1 cinnamon stick
   1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
   1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
   1 cup granulated sugar
   2 cups water
 For the Masa Dough
   2 1/2 cups (240 grams) masa harina
   3/4 cup granulated sugar
   1/2 teaspoon baking powder
   1/2 teaspoon sea salt
   1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
   1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
   1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
   1 cup coconut oil
1 vanilla bean pod, or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup rice milk, or other plant-based milk
   25 to 30 corn husks
 Steps to Make It
 Make the Filling
   Gather the ingredients.
In a medium saucepan, combine dried hibiscus petals, 2 cardamom pods, 2 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/2 teaspoon each of ginger and nutmeg, and 1 cup of sugar. Pour in water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Lower to a simmer and cook, uncovered, until the liquid reduces by a little more than half into a light syrup, about 35 minutes.
Remove from heat. Allow to cool, about 15 minutes, then remove the cinnamon stick and cardamom pods.
Add the syrup and hibiscus petals to a blender and blend into a smooth, thick consistency. Scrape into a smaller bowl and set aside.
 Make the Dough
   Gather masa dough ingredients.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix together masa harina, sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves.
In another large bowl, whip the coconut oil with an electric hand mixer or in a stand mixer until smooth, about 3 minutes.
Fold the masa and spices mixture into the coconut oil. Scrape the seeds of the vanilla bean into the mixture (or add vanilla extract).
Gradually pour in the rice milk while whipping with the mixer until the dough is airy and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
 Assemble and Cook the Tamales
Submerge corn husks in a deep bowl of hot water. Soak until soft and pliable, about 5 minutes.
Working with 2 to 4 husks at a time, or 1 at a time, if you are a beginner, shake off excess water before laying the husk out onto a clean work surface area. If your husks are very narrow, use two overlapping husks.
Take 2 or 3 of the husks, and tear them lengthwise, following the grain, into quarter-inch-thick strips. Set aside on a small plate.
Set out your ingredients in an assembly line: your corn husks, your masa, and your filling.
Spoon 1/4 cup of dough closer to the wider end of each husk and spread out into a 3 x 3 square. Top with 1 tablespoon of the hibiscus jam in the center of the dough.
Now you are ready to fold the tamales. Carefully bring the sides together to meet at the center, enclosing the filling.
Then fold the bottom tip of the husk over the filled section. If your jam is a little loose, some of it might leak out of the top or bottom, but that's ok, as long as it's held inside the corn husk.
Take one of the husk strips and use it to tie the tamale together, crosswise. Set aside.
Set a steamer basket inside a large pot and pour water just until it reaches the basket. Bring the water to a simmer. Begin layering in the tamales, folded-end down. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat. Steam for 50 minutes, checking water occasionally to replace if it evaporates.
Once tamales are cooked, remove from the pot and cool until they can be handled. Best when eaten immediately.
 Warnings
After steaming the tamales, open the lid slowly and carefully. The steam released can be hot enough to burn skin.
 Tips
Take time to invest in high-quality ingredients for the best-tasting and most nutrient-rich results.
We recommend Bob’s Red Mill masa harina, available at most grocery stores, or Masienda masa harina, available online.
Masa harina, and corn husks may be found in the International section of your grocery store, or at a Latin American market.
We recommend buying spices from Diaspora Co. for the freshest flavors.
 Variations
It's traditional, especially in central Mexico, to tint sweet tamales pink using food coloring or other natural food coloring. This is especially helpful if your household is making different kinds of tamales on the same day. Add a few drops of coloring to the masa after you've achieved the consistency you want. Whip just long enough to evenly distribute the coloring.
Hibiscus flowers are sold in most Latin American markets (as flor de jamaica) and in many tea shops. You can also find them online. If you have trouble finding dried hibiscus petals, you can substitute with fresh or frozen cherries, cranberries, and even chopped roasted beets.
Experiment with other fillings, such as pineapple preserves and raisins, strawberry jam and cream cheese, shredded coconut, and dulce de leche or cajeta with pecans and cream cheese.
If you have access to fresh masa, use the same measurements of masa dough ingredients, except for the rice milk. You will most likely need less liquid, so be careful to add it gradually.
Serve tamales drizzled with caramel sauce.
Make the tamales with banana leaves instead of corn husks. Trim the leaves to 8-inch squares. Use the same method to fold and then tie shut with kitchen string.
 How to Store and Freeze
Store cooked and cooled tamales in an airtight container, a zip lock or vacuum-sealed bag, in the refrigerator.
Keep tamales in the refrigerator for up to one week.
To reheat refrigerated tamales, steam in husks for 5 to 8 minutes, or reheat in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes.
To freeze tamales, wrap individually in foil, then place in a freezer-safe bag.
Thaw frozen tamales overnight in the refrigerator and re-steam for 5 to 8 minutes. Or, skip thawing in the fridge and re-steam for 15 minutes.
 Make Ahead
You can make the hibiscus jam one to three days in advance. The masa dough is best made right before making the tamales.

Best New Heavy Metal Releases Week of February 24th, 2023
I think I am safe in declaring that this was hands down the strongest week overall for Heavy music of 2023 so far. The sheer length of the list can certainly attest to this. As another example of the strength of this week, I am actually still debating on moving some albums from the “Best of the Week” section to the “Standouts in the Genre” sections simply because the amount of albums is unwieldy. There are just so many damn good albums this week. Hell, I haven’t even decided what is the overall pick of the week yet. 61 albums that made the list out of 118 that were on my original playlist, so just slightly over 50% made the cut, which is one hell of a good week. So let’s get to some of these highlights before I change my mind and make the highlight section 20 albums long.
Insomnium-Anno 1696 (Melodic Death)**
Anyone that knows me also knows I am a big fan of this band. The level of attention to detail in the overall songwriting is second to none. I always get the feeling that even the most minor moments of sound coming out of my speakers were agonized over. The levels of reverb used transitioning from distorted guitars to acoustic was thought about for 5 days, with pros and cons written on a whiteboard followed by fistfights to determine the perfect level. I don’t know for sure, of course, and maybe they are just so insanely talented that they can throw an album that is this incredible together in a short weekend. You know an album is incredible when you feel that emotional response just from the act of listening to it. This album is simply breathtaking in its sheer beauty and brilliance. This album will be VERY high on my end-of-year list. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t listen to this album at least once, even if you don’t like the Melodic Death genre. It really is that damn good.
Ciemra-The Tread of Darkness (Melodic Black)**
From one incredible album to another. The way I was gushing about the Insomnium album, you would think that the overall pick of the week is obvious. I did as well as I have listened to that Insomnium album via a promo for about the last three weeks. During that time, I was absolutely certain it had the top spot nailed down. Until I heard this. Debut album from this Melodic Black Metal band out of Belarus. I’m not prone to hyperbole, at least I don’t feel that I am, but this is hands down the BEST debut album in this genre that I have EVER heard. Mainly mid-tempo throughout, with incredible riffing and melody lines over the top, breaking into these acoustic passages that remind me of classic Opeth at times. There are definitely moments of speed here and there but it always falls back into that mid-tempo groove that they do incredibly well. Off of the very first listen, I was online buying this album on vinyl, even though I knew the shipping rates from Europe would be almost as much as the album itself. This album is worth three times the amount I paid for it. All I can really say is wow….fucking wow.
Marvel-Double Decade (Hard Rock)**
I wasn’t sure if I should include this on this list as this is all out Rock at its very heaviest. I decided to, as I know from personal experience, most people that are into metal have an open mind and feel that good music is good music. Well, this is good music. What would you get if you put the Hellacopters, Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick and Jet into a blender? This album right here. This album is a compilation of 23 tracks spanning an hour and 17 minutes and worth every minute.
Death Pill-Death Pill (Punk/Crossover)**
I’m sure there are more than a few women that are extremely pissed off here in the US with all the bullshit thrown their way. Hell, I’m sure this level of anger can be felt all over the world to some degree or another. I say all of this because if you are looking for an album that distills this anger down into a musical form, these four ladies have you covered. Being from Ukraine, they have more things to be angry about than the average and that feeling is palpable here. Just from the very first listen, this band went on my list of “must see” live bands. Hopefully, I will get that chance.
I will cut it off there as with me gushing about the Insomnium and Ciemra albums, this post is already too damn long. Great albums deserve praise and I am definitely here for it. Listen to music and fill your soul with happiness. Until next week, and as always,
BANG THY HEAD!!!
All worthy of a listen if you like the genre
*= standout in that genre
**=best of the week regardless of genre

Werebelushi's Reaction: to Stupid Old Troll Comments
'Suggest that a werewolf version of John Candy is a stupid fursona to have.' You know, pointing out that something that is supposed to be stupid is a stupid concept to have for a character is a stupid idea to do. Have none of your guys ever heard of Poe's Law?
'Suggest that a werewolf version of Jim Carrey as the Grinch is a stupid fursona to have'. Reusing the same method and joke over and over just to hammer in the point that you think it's stupid is a stupid idea to have. So…this is the gimmick? You are going to just repeat the very first one over and over again? That doesn't sound terribly original to me, that just seems like the method that bad parody movies like 'isn't this joke originally and clever? Look it's Thor only he's overweight and he farts a lot, we're going to have Thor doing the same fart gag over and over until you think it's funny' or 'Well we're going to have Wolverine give the middle finger to someone with his claws, because there's no way that has ever been done in the X Men movies, we're going to have do that because that is original and clever.' The humor of the Daloli-verse is very much the online equivalent of Seltzerberg's spoof movies. Look guys, as a comedian myself I can relate to how awfully difficult it must be to think of new material, there are nights where I cannot think of a joke or even a good topic to rant about, but you know…I practice and practice, and so should you. Maybe try branching out a little, try a different joke. Because clearly re-doing the same joke only switching out the subject isn't funny.
'Make fun of his werecreature fursonas over and over'…yes, that's all you have been doing and it's not original or funny, like when that stupid idiot though it was a clever idea to put celebrity heads on fat people's bodies to try and parody said characters, okay…why just use a fat person over and over? Oh look, the bad Daloliverse expy of me has red hair that clearly does NOT match the rest of their hairline, obviously they just put me and Andria into a blender and thought…'give this John Belushi expy a red wig and act like he/she/ is supposed to be Andria', and also how is giving your Megamind expy hairy hands and thick eyebrows supposed to represent those OCs? Yes, Nathan likes Megamind. Is turning your Megamind expy into Jack Nicholson in Wolf supposed to be referencing something? Is giving your obvious Christine knockoff cartoon eyes and angry eyebrows supposed to be referencing something? I don't see the humor. You just reuse the same 'make fun of his OCs' schtick over and over and it's never different apart from the character, it's repetitive and unoriginal. 'Ooh look, it's Pinnochio and the long nose he gets when he lies is being used to simulate an erection! That joke hasn't been done before, right?' 'Oh look, it's that meme guy that sings Chocolate Rain and he is singing a seduction song.' So..what's the joke? What is the damn joke. Is the joke is that he is singing a sexy song in the same style as Chocolate Rain? You know Key and Peele's bit about Ray Parker Jr was funny because it was about how Ray Parker Jr is known for one song yet all the songs he sings in the skit sound exactly like Ghostbusters, I mean if the joke you're trying to make is that 'Oh Tay Zonday made Chocolate Rain but what if he tried to do different song styles but the song sounded a bit like Chocolate Rain each time?' then yeah i'd buy it. I mean if you did a parody of nature gone wrong movies and then put in Godzilla for no reason other than…'Well Jurassic Park has scaly creatures in it, Godzilla is a giant scaly monster, so the joke writes itself', i'd be questioning you. I mean Godzilla is not what I think of it when it comes to movies about mutant/killer animals. If this was supposed to be a Jurassic Park parody you also missed the mark because Godzilla is not a dinosaur. You can't just claim your fake werecreatures are supposed to do anything other than mock Nathan for his OCs when half of them are unoriginal.
'Call him out on his Elvira obsession and call him a cougar chaser.' Hey, you leave the mistress of the dark out of this, jokes on you, Nathan's bisexual. And also jokes on you again because Elvira's actress came out as bi. Also…Nathan likes gothic women, got a problem with that?ar the stupidest idea to have. Repetition can be good, yes but the way you do is annoying and we know what the punchline is going to be so either get better material or stop being so unoriginal. I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy's friend who knows how to get you a more original set of dialogue and more original putdowns, you'll need him.
'Call him out on his Elvira obsession and call him a cougar chaser.' Hey, you leave the mistress of the dark out of this, jokes on you, Nathan's bisexual. And also jokes on you again because Elvira's actress came out as bi. Also…Nathan likes gothic women, got a problem with that?
'Remind him that John Candy died of a heart attack at age 43, and that he doesn't have much time left!' I wasn't born yesterday you know, we know John Candy died of a heart attack, why are you mocking Nathan for being a fan of one of the nicest actors ever? Is it because you never had a childhood or a sense of humor? Honestly anyone who doesn't like John is heartless to me. We know he passed away in 1994, it was very sad. Any other celebrity deaths that happened you want to point out? It's not like Nathan was born in a cave, you know. Look Nathan really wanted to see one of Michael Jackson's concerts when he was alive but that never came to fruition.
'Remind him that Jim Carrey is a talentless hack, and that the live action Grinch movie sucked.' You have to be joking me, the daloliverse which is where you're from has some of the suckiest movies ever made, I had the misfortune of seeing all of them in the theater, 'Werenude' featured no werecreatures at all, just the same overweight model that they keep forcing into their productions and objectifying and fat-shaming her and I felt bad for the actress. Don't get me started on the bad ripoffs of me and the werejohncandy characters, that looked nothing like me or Chumsley. They couldn't even get someone of my body type and gender to play the character, they just cast that overweight model to play both characters, and for pete's sake they don't even bother to change her hairstyle, she has the same hair-style as both characters except she's wearing a red wig to look like Andria (one of Mel's friends). I have seen productions from Full Moon and Troma that put more effort into it than these movies, heck Monsturd and Thankskilling are better than this. I am sorry but the Daloli-verse tv show was terrible…none of the characters were likable and it was a bad ripoff of SNL only it was a bad parody of internet lolcow culture and not even the skits that were even that terrible were funny, all of the jokes were just mocking autistic people, furries and bronies. And don't get me started on the movie, the movie was awful, i'm sorry but I didn't like the movie that was basically Movie 43 but worse, and what makes the movie worse that a movie that is supposed to be mocking internet universe culture seems like it's a Seltzerberg movie wannabe with outdated meme references (this movie came out in 2010 yet there are references to memes from the early 2000's?), I hated the show and the movies. I tried watching some of them with Bonzi, and Bonzi said he tried watching them while under alcoholic influence, stoned, and under jungle bath salts and he still didn't find it funny.
'Tell him Steve Martin is better than Jim Carrey'…DON'T do that, you do know that both comedians are good, right? Besides, someone who starred in such titles as 'Werenude' and the Daloliverse movies shouldn't be judging someone else's taste in comedy. Trust me, i'm glad the Daloli-verse movie won a Golden Raspberry award because you'd have to be moronic to find it funny.
'Say you like Were(insert another dead comedian)s better!' You know, I like OTHER satirical website realms better than the Daloliverse, heck I liked Cracked better than you. CollegeHumor is better than the Daloli-verse, even with the political stuff, still better than this crap. Heck, It's Pat is a better movie than the Daloli-verse movie, I would watch that than this. Uncyclopedia is better than you.

By Orpat
Tumblr media
Convenience is the key when preparing healthy meals and delicious fruit mixes. A hand blender or a hand mixer blender is an indispensable kitchen tool for those who love making smoothies, soups, and other culinary delights. However, with many options available in the market, choosing the perfect hand blender for fruit mix can be a daunting task.
Hand blenders have revolutionized the way we prepare food and beverages, particularly when creating sumptuous fruit mixes. These versatile kitchen gadgets are designed to simplify blending tasks, offering efficiency and convenience. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast, a home chef, or simply someone who enjoys a refreshing fruit smoothie, choosing the right-hand blender is crucial. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the essential factors to consider when selecting the ideal hand blender that suits your fruit-mixing needs.
Types of Hand Blenders
Before diving into the selection process, it’s essential to understand the two primary types of hand blenders available in the market: corded and cordless.
Corded Hand Blenders Corded hand blenders are known for their consistent power supply, making them ideal for extended blending sessions. They are typically more robust and suitable for heavy-duty tasks, including crushing ice or blending frozen fruits.
Cordless Hand Blenders Cordless hand blenders offer greater mobility and flexibility in the kitchen. Powered by rechargeable batteries, they are perfect for quick blending jobs and are highly portable. However, they may have slightly less power compared to their corded counterparts.
Power and Speed
When selecting a hand blender, consider the power and speed options available. A blender with adjustable speed settings allows you to control the blending process more precisely. Higher wattage typically indicates more robust performance, but it may not always be necessary for fruit mixing.
Blade Material
The blade material plays a crucial role in the blender’s performance. Stainless steel blades are durable and efficient, ensuring smooth blending and easy maintenance. Look for blades with multiple edges for better results.
Blending Capacity
Determine the size of batches you intend to blend. Hand juicer blenders come in various blending capacities, so choose one that suits your typical fruit mix recipe. For larger quantities, opt for a blender with a larger blending container.
Design and Ergonomics
An ergonomic design ensures comfortable handling during prolonged blending sessions. Look for hand mixer blenders with a comfortable grip and intuitive button placement. A well-designed blender minimizes hand fatigue.
Attachments and Accessories
Many hand blenders come with attachments and accessories, such as a whisk or a chopper. Consider your specific needs and choose the blender accordingly for quick kitchen activities.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Nobody wants a blender that’s a hassle to clean. Check if the blender parts are dishwasher-safe or easy to detach and clean by hand. A blender that’s easy to maintain will save you time and effort.
Brand Reputation and Warranty
Invest in a hand blender from a reputable brand known for its quality and customer service. Additionally, check the warranty to ensure peace of mind in case of any issues.
Budget-Friendly Options
Hand blenders come in a wide price range. While it’s tempting to opt for the most expensive model, many budget-friendly options offer excellent performance for fruit mixing.
Customer Reviews and Ratings
When buying a blender online, take advantage of customer reviews and ratings. Real-life experiences can provide valuable insights into a blender’s performance and durability.
Comparing the Top Hand Blenders
To make your decision easier, compare some of the top hand mixer blenders available in the market. Compare different blenders on their specifications, power, prices, and other features given for a better pick.
Tips for Making the Perfect Fruit Mix
Now that you’ve chosen the ideal hand blender, it’s time to put it to good use. Here are some tips to ensure your fruit mixes turn out perfectly every time.
Use fresh and ripe fruits for the best flavour.
Add liquid gradually to achieve your desired consistency.
Experiment with different fruits and combinations.
Don’t forget to clean your hand blender thoroughly after each use for better performance.
Conclusion
Choosing the perfect hand blender for fruit mix doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By considering factors like power, blade material, design, and your specific needs, you can find the ideal blender that suits your kitchen and culinary preferences. Don’t wait any longer; equip yourself with the perfect hand mixer blender to elevate your fruit-mixing game.

Hand Mixer vs. Hand Blender: Which One Do You Really Need?
Both hand mixers and hand blenders are compact and versatile kitchen appliances that can save you time and effort in the kitchen. But with some overlap in functionality, choosing between them can be tricky. Let's break down the strengths of each appliance to help you decide which one is the perfect fit for your culinary needs.
The Hand Mixer
Conquering Dough
A hand mixer excels at tasks that require powerful mixing and whipping. It can handle tough jobs like kneading bread dough, pizza dough, and mixing thick cookie batter. Look for a hand mixer with dough hook attachments for these tasks.
Whipping Up a Dream
From creating fluffy meringues to light and airy whipped cream, the beater attachment on a hand mixer is a dream come true for bakers. It can also be used for lighter mixing tasks like combining cake batter or frosting ingredients.
Speed Control and Precision
Many hand mixers offer a range of speeds to give you complete control over your mixing process.  Whether you need to slowly incorporate dry ingredients or achieve high speeds for whipping cream, a hand mixer allows for precise results.
The Hand Blender
Effortless Blending
Hand blenders, also known as immersion blenders, shine at blending ingredients directly in your pot or pan. This eliminates the need to transfer hot liquids and saves you time and cleanup.
Creating Smooth Consistencies
Making silky smooth soups and purées is a breeze with a hand blender.  They're perfect for creating dips, sauces, and baby food as well.
Space-Saving Specs
Unlike their bulkier countertop blender counterparts, hand blenders are incredibly compact.  They store easily in a drawer, freeing up valuable counter space in your kitchen.
Finding the Perfect Kitchen Ally
Here are some additional factors to consider when choosing between a hand mixer and a hand blender:
Cooking Habits
If your baking endeavors involve regularly working with dough or whipping cream, a hand mixer might be your best bet.  For those who frequently make soups, sauces, or puréed foods, a hand blender reigns supreme.
Budget
Both appliances are generally affordable, with hand blenders tending to be slightly less expensive.
Counter Space
If storage space is at a premium, the compact design of a hand blender is a major advantage.
Thinking of going the BOSS way?
BOSS offers both hand mixers and hand blenders, each with unique features to consider.  Here's a quick breakdown of what BOSS hand mixers and hand blenders have to offer:
BOSS Hand Mixer
Stainless steel dough hook attachment tackles tough bread and pizza dough, thick cookie batter.
Beater attachment whips up light and airy cream, perfect for meringues and frosting.
6-speed settings with turbo function for precise control over mixing tasks.
Eject button allows for safe and easy removal of attachments.
Image 2
BOSS Hand Blender
High-quality stainless steel blades ensure smooth and consistent blending.
Variable speeds allow for starting slow to minimize splatter and gradually increase for desired consistency.
Compact design with wall-mounting stand for easy storage and use.
Easy ClickFit technology allows for quick and easy attachment changes for whisking, chopping, and more features depending on the model you pick.
The BOSS appliances offer a convenient and versatile way to tackle a variety of tasks in your kitchen. They can be a great addition to your kitchen, which can be bought online on our website.
Can You Have Both?
While they have some functional overlap, both hand mixers and hand blenders offer unique advantages. The good news is that they're both budget-friendly appliances, so you can consider having both in your kitchen! This equips you for a wider range of culinary tasks. If you’re looking to buy a hand mixer or hand blender online, you will find many models that are up for this task. Be sure to research the available options before making your purchase. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your individual cooking needs and preferences.  Consider the factors mentioned above to decide which appliance will become your go-to tool in the kitchen!

My context and reasons why I am making this project.
I will be making a cutscene in relevance to a hand to hand fight between two gladiators where they were told to fight with no weapons. Along side it there will be an asset pack of animations that I would tend to do for commissions.
My project will not be related to a story or a story building. I am making this project for an industry. I receive commissions from people who need an animation for a ROBLOX game. I make asset packs for these people and singular animations. They give me a description of what they are looking for me or send me a reference.
The reason why I chose to make this project for my FMP is because I have experience on animating for ROBLOX on the blender engine. I have been animating for Roblox for 2 years now, and I got into the selling industry recently, around 8 months ago. I have a online profile where people can see my work and if they like it they message me what they want and how much it would cost. For simple singular animations I charge £8 per. If they want a cutscene I charge the amount I think is reasonable depending how long I think it will take me to complete it. I have a portfolio on Discord where I add it into my description where I say what I do and put the link of the server in it.
The reason why I decided to use Blender for Roblox animations is because the engine is much smoother than the one Roblox provides us with. On blender we are given with a lot more opportunities to make our animations more professional because of how much smoother it is. Blender is used for so many different things that is not animating. It is used for visual effects, art, 3D models, motion graphics, interactive 3D applications, virtual reality and video games. However I decided to go with animating because I enjoy it and to me its really understanding compared to all the other things that Blender can do.
Animating is a difficult job if you are not aware of what choreography is. Choreography is a necessity for animating because it is all about posing and angles. You need to know how a person moves and how someone would move if they were doing a certain action. The arm swing, the leg position if they are attacking, the torso swing, where they would be looking, etc. Animating also requires some creativity if you want to make a unique character with unique skills and moving traits which many people on the Roblox industry are looking for. Over my 2 years of animating I have learned how to make everything sooth together with attacks. Posing the legs correctly on animating is probably the most important part of any animation. If the legs are not placed correctly the rest of the animation will not look correct.
How the marketplace works is that the people who want an animation from me tell me what they want/show me what they want and I give them a price, if they agree with the pricing I do the animation show them it. If they are happy with it I export it into Roblox Studio and get the animation ID and send it to them only then they send me the money of the animation through PayPal. People may see this as a risky payment system but if they attempt to take the ID of my animation and try to use it without paying I can disable the ID making it uncopiable and unusable. In the end if they refuse to pay for my animation I publish the animation I made to my portfolio since it will not be used for a game so it will not be leaking so either way it helps me.
Tumblr media
This is the official Roblox marketplace where everything is sold for a currency called Robux, Robux is the platform currency to buy anything that applies to your account across multiple games.
My target audience is people who are interested in making Roblox games, games developed on Roblox can be highly profitable since the software is free and it only takes a few financial usage to advertise your game. Which is why I am greatly into Roblox development because its relatively cheap and you can get paid well if your work exceeds their expectations.
Roblox is a platform where people of all ages typically children find games and play them for entertainment, there are millions of games to play and explore within Roblox. As an animator I want to make games stand out with unique animations which will intrigue players because it is far from every default animated game.
My process on animating is like so: I initially move the rig slightly lower than its default height so I can position the character's legs better (bend more making it look better). If the animation is supposed to be a walking animation I will set it to 30 frames per second at first and make it 40 frames. I will add the simple cycle of the walking meaning the torso swinging side to side and the legs going back and fourth by 20 frames they have taken the full step and is about to take the other with the other leg. After I am happy on how much the torso turning and I can picture how it will look only then will I add more movement to everything all together. After adding enough detail to the leg cycle and torso going up and down making it look like there is power behind it. I then make the basic swings in the arms. After I see everything going well with each other is when I add dramatic swing in between frames giving it more detail yet still smooth. This can all be seen on the animation posted below on the walking animation. Head movement is the last thing I apply. Just so it does not seem out of place to begin with. I do this for every animation.
The rig I am using I created it by following a tutorial on how to make rigs but I made it better for myself by turning it into blocks instead of it being visible bones inside the character. I find those rigs more confusing they need to be but I can work with them as I already have previously and I am aware not all models can have the blocky rig which is why I need to also know how to use the skeletal ones.
Tumblr media
A pack can have any amount. If they are for a combat game with individual characters they tend to have the following:
Walking
Running
Idle
Combat stance (when put into combat mode)
Jump
M1s meaning swings per click they tend to have 4-5 in most combat systems.
M2 (heavy attack when right click is pressed)
1-4 ability animations depending on the character.
Blocking
Blocking impact
As I charge £8 per animation in total this would be £104 not including the abilities. The abilities were not included because I need to know what it is they are looking for and only then I will decide my price on the abilities. The time it would take me to do all these animations that is not including the abilities would take me around 2 hours to make. So essentially I am being paid £52 pounds an hour for this pack.
Roblox animations are expensive because people who hire developers on Roblox do not understand animating and anything else so people who are highly more experienced than me are paid around £15 per animation. Which I am aiming to get up to over my time in animating.
Since movement is a key point in animating, looking at FIFA animations can also help a lot on how to make ideal running animations for actual rigs. But for Roblox animating making a realistic animation would make it look really weird in game. Which is another reason why Roblox animating is so different compared to realistic model animating. Yes us Roblox animators can do realistic animations for Roblox but we don't because it does not fit everything else on Roblox. We need to remember that this is a 2006 engine working with Blender which is used in movies.

Buy the Best Wet Grinders for Indian Cooking at Poorvika Online with Amazing Deals!
Wet grinders are an integral part of traditional Indian cuisine, especially in South Indian households, where they are used to grind soaked grains, lentils, and spices into a smooth batter or paste. These versatile kitchen appliances have been around for centuries, evolving from simple hand-operated stone grinders to more advanced electric models that offer convenience and efficiency.
The basic design of a wet grinder consists of a drum, usually made of stainless steel, which holds the grinding stone or stones. The stone(s) are typically made of granite, which is hard and durable, ensuring efficient grinding. The drum is mounted on a motorized base that allows it to rotate, enabling the grinding process.
One of the key advantages of wet grinders is their ability to preserve the natural flavors and nutrients of the ingredients being ground. Unlike traditional mixers or blenders, which can generate heat and alter the taste and texture of the ingredients, wet grinders operate at a low speed, maintaining a relatively low temperature during the grinding process. This helps in retaining the quality of the batter or paste, resulting in better-tasting and healthier dishes.
There are two main types of wet grinders: regular wet grinders and tilting wet grinders. Regular wet grinders consist of a single stone and are suitable for small families or for grinding small quantities of ingredients. They are compact and easy to use, making them ideal for everyday use in a home kitchen.
Tilting wet grinders, on the other hand, have a tilting mechanism that allows you to tilt the drum and pour out the batter or paste easily. This makes them more convenient to use, especially when preparing large quantities of batter or when grinding heavy ingredients. Tilting wet grinders are popular in commercial kitchens and are also preferred by home cooks who need to grind larger batches of ingredients.
When choosing a wet grinder, there are several factors to consider. The size of your family and the quantity of batter or paste you need to grind will determine the capacity of the wet grinder you should choose. For small families, a compact model with a capacity of 1.5 to 2 liters may be sufficient, while larger families or commercial kitchens may require a larger capacity of 3 liters or more.
The quality of the grinding stone(s) and motor is also important. Opting for a model with high-quality stones made of durable materials like granite will ensure efficient and consistent grinding results. A powerful motor with a wattage of 150 to 200 watts is recommended for most home kitchens, but if you plan to grind large quantities of ingredients frequently, you may need a more powerful motor.
Maintenance and cleaning are also important considerations when choosing a wet grinder. Look for models that are easy to clean and maintain, with detachable parts that can be washed separately. Some models also come with additional features like coconut scraper attachments, which can be useful for preparing coconut-based dishes.
In conclusion, wet grinders are versatile and efficient kitchen appliances that are essential for traditional Indian cooking. Whether you're making dosas, idlis, vadas, or any other dish that requires grinding, a wet grinder can simplify the process and help you achieve better results. With the right wet grinder, you can enjoy delicious and authentic Indian cuisine in the comfort of your own home.
