And for a bill that's supposedly to protect kids from having gender related operations on them... there is zero so-called protection for intersex kids... and nothing that would prevent an AFAB individual from getting breast implants or equivalent surgeries for an AMAB individual. There's also plenty of language that would codify anti-abortion stuff in the bill. It's kind of catchall bill. The anti-trans stuff isn't until the end of page 3.

She has unfortunately agreed to stop the filibuster for the time being. I guess they're going to have a special session to debate the bill in particular and with any luck... not bother passing it.

i do think that specifically david tennant being very openly supportive of the trans community has had an interesting effect -- because usually im kinda like "it is nice to know that people whose work i enjoy don't want me dead" and that's kinda my level of (at this point) quite cynical engagement with what a celebrity or artist does or does not think about transness, because these days it feels like it's almost fashionable for well-known (or post-well-known) people to come out of the wordwork and say what they think about trans people, which can get very stressful in its own way (the amount of headlines that try to be misleading or just plain don't say and so you're just like "ok i guess this week i have to find out if [spins wheel] thinks i deserve rights")

but david tennant has a different feeling to it. and to be fair, there are plenty of people with skin in the game, who absolutely deserve to and ought to speak out on behalf of their children/partners/community/friends/family/etc. and im always happy to see these people speak, and dt is included in that list as well

but david tennant is veeery specific in this here country of terf island, in which the labour party will openly state that it will allow certain book writers to affect their policies on trans people, and that's partly because of the effect above in which "having opinions on trans rights seems to be a celebrity game that keeps you relevant, which includes ex prime minister tony blair making his opinion known (hint, it wasn't a good one)" but also because david tennant is known as a national icon to rival that of whatsherface

he was the main actor on doctor who, in the top three, if not very top of british broadcasting iconography that exists. he's one of this generation's most famous shakespearian actors, the other thing that this country-as-culture is most proud of. he's a mainstay in children's film and tv, a standout in modern british crime drama (broadchurch, des), and that's not mentioning things like jessica jones, good omens, and star wars

this guy has no social media, and some of the biggest cultural capital in the uk today -- labour i believe it was made a twitter joke about him ousting the current prime minister as the doctor ahead of this week's election, because that's an iconic scene from doctor who

david tennant constantly making these statements, again and again, is a powerful voice in the modern fight for trans rights in the UK, in some ways unfortunately, because you wish trans people could have been heard before it got to this state and that it wasn't about being famous, but to be fair, he's also making that point again and again

it kind of feels like the first time in a long time that there's been proper pushback against transphobia in this country from a perspective that the transphobes can't dismiss so easily -- they can try but like. again, one side is a bunch of raving nonsense-spouters on a joke website who mostly belong to a party that's about to get decidedly ousted from the political scene, the other is beloved national icon and star of stage and screen, mr david tennant

aita for calling out someone for being manipulative towards a trans friend? Names have been changed for privacy reasons and TLDR at the end because this is long.

I (24f) am cis but have had a lot of trans friends (binary, nonbinary, and neopronoun) throughout the years and am very supportive so i take this very seriously. So I met this girl my first year in college (we were 18 at the time) and we became friends. We're polar opposites, she talks a lot and I don't, she parties a lot and I like to do more sophisticated things, she's a typical extrovert basically, and I'm more introverted. Anne (24f) was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. I don't know when, she just told me this years ago. I've seen tiktoks about bpd and researched Google about bpd a little so I know all about how they have fave persons and will "mimic" people in the friend group and become clingy, manipulate, etc. I've seen pics of her in high school, noticed that she was a theater kid, she said she was good at acting and even said she thinks her bpd helped with her acting although I'm not sure how, but she said she only joined the theater club because a boy she had a crush on was in theater. That should've been my first red flag but I was naive. She has a degree in something else (not theater) because our second year in college her favorite character in a TV show did a certain job, she got interested in that, and now she also does that as a living. She doesn't talk about her bpd, she's only mentioned it a handful of times. I can count on one hand how many times. And I get it because she said someone once told her people with bpd should be sterilized and not be allowed near children. Which is really messed up and I hate that someone said that.

However on with the situation. One of our friends Mike (25m) is a trans man. We met him four years ago. He's very handsome, broody, introverted, intelligent, great listener, very accepting and understanding, similar to me but opposite to her. Now we didn't know he was trans until two years ago, because I asked him on a date and he turned me down, and when I asked why he told me that he was mostly T4T and only viewed me as a friend. We were like woah you're trans, okay that's cool, etc. He explained that he was lucky enough to get on puberty blockers and transition young etc which is why he passes. I said okay I'm not trans and you're mostly T4T fair enough.

Well last year Anne suddenly tells us that she is trans too. She says she's bigender. She says she is okay with either she her or he him because she feels like a man and a woman at the same time. Some days she's a woman, some days she's a man, and some days she's both, according to her. She says she does not like they them pronouns. Suddenly her and Mike are spending all this extra time together. Last month he confided in me that he thinks he's in love with her, after years of him only seeing her as a friend, and then they started officially dating.

Here's the problem: she has not changed her outward appearance, her name, started any kind of medical stuff, joined any groups, bought a binder etc. We all continue to call her she and her because she fully presents as female and doesn't have a problem with it. Also she's very effeminate in body language, the way she talks, etc. I know technically I could call her a he or a him, too, but she never asks me to or corrects people when they call her she because well technically she is a she too. Mike is the only one who uses he and him pronouns with her as often as she and her, but she has never thanked him. It really feels like she's saying she's trans and then going about her life exactly as a cis woman simply to convince Mike to date her.

First off, Anne and Mike are NOT compatible. She likes to party, smoke weed, talks a lot, I'm not sure how she graduated with such good grades or why she does so well in her job because she is honestly a LOT to handle and I'm saying that as nice as possible. Mike would never touch weed or go to clubs and he says he would be fine staying home while she does those things but how could you trust someone to party while high and not hook up with others? I've seen her make out with five people in one night at a frat party. They also had wildly different childhoods, such as she grew up in a conservative community and doesn't speak to her family, and he grew up in a liberal area and is close with his family. But more importantly she has a history of joining theater because she had a crush on someone in theater (plus she admits she is good at acting, so maybe she is acting now?) and getting a degree and job in a field because a favorite fictional character did that and now this? It feels like she was attracted to him, found out he usually dates other trans people, and found a way to continue being cis but claim to be trans without having to do anything trans related, basically mimicing her favorite person. As soon as they met they hit it off, or should I say she clung to him and pretended to have the same likes and dislikes whenever they were alone I assume.

It sounds terrible I know, which is why I discussed this with a group chat first that neither of them are in, and the group chat not only agreed that she is far too "obnoxious" for him (those were NOT my words!) but that she is faking being trans in an attempt to make him fall in love with her (which seems to be working.) I would NEVER have gone further without making sure with them first. So then a few of the people in my group chat and I held an intervention with Anne alone. The six of us (the others don't live close enough to come) met up with Anne at her place and told her what she was doing was wrong and gross and that she needed to get help for her bpd and to stop catfishing Mike. She didn't take well to what was said, which I anticipated, but she went crazy. She was screaming at us, insulting us, sobbing while yelling etc, literally said if we ever contacted her again she would call the cops, so we left.

I immediately called Mike before she could and asked him to meet me at a restaurant nearby and that it was very important. Since Mike doesn't know anyone in the group chat I went alone and I explained EVERYTHING before she could gaslight and manipulate him even further. He left, did not finish or pay for his food. I messaged him several times, but a few hours later he texted me to never to speak to him again, and then blocked me on everything. I showed up to his house and Anne was there. Mike said if I ever contacted him again he would get a restraining order on me so I left. I've discussed this with the group chat and now suddenly half of them changed their mind and don't want to talk about it anymore. Several of them left the group chat. Not only that but several of my friends who know either Mike or Anne or both have blocked me on everything. When I've tried to contact these friends through other means and explain everything, they either didn't respond or said for me never to contact them again because I was being transphobic. Listen I know under NORMAL circumstances you shouldn't question when someone comes out but this is NOT a normal situation, and now I am concerned Anne is unsafe for Mike but also an unsafe person to know, as she literally is trying to destroy my life because I called her out on some seriously messed up and abusive behavior.

I’ve been seething these days because the medical school I go to is renaming a room after some transphobic, racist and misogynistic texas congresspeople that assisted our school with obtaining federal funding (basically making it so that student doctors don’t have to pay as much tuition, which really helps out low-income medical school students.) They are texas state senator Creighton and representative Metcalf.

HOWEVER as nice as this assistance was, I am vehemently against the naming of the room after these clowns.

1. Senator creighton supports legislation that is vehemently Anti-Healthcare.

these are some of the “certain treatments” prohibited for trans kids btw:

just purely hateful, knowing that gender confirming care SAVES THE LIVES OF TRANS CHILDREN. and we are training to be DOCTORS. with the goal of NOT ending lives. extending them even. there’s an oath about it and everything.

Usually the three of you slept considerably quickly, but today the mood was a little more… different. Of course there was no offense or criticism in this, especially because they both said that you were the impotent husband who was married to work and forced his wife to have a lover... although in this last part you were a little hurt at being called sexually impotent.

“Well… Now you managed to make two men very angry and excited” Sanji smiled mischievously as he inhaled your perfume.

Before you could finally make up for lost time and have a passionate and exciting night, small footsteps were heard in the hallway and the door was quickly pushed open completely. The door was always propped open in case your daughters needed to come after you during the night… And it seems that was exactly what had happened now.

You jumped in fright as you pushed the two men hard enough for them to let out groans of pain. You looked at the door and at two daughters illuminated by the hallway light that was always on. The two wore matching pajamas, although Sora's were green pajamas with yellow ducks and Kuina's were yellow with green trees. They both had blonde hair and Sanji's characteristic eyebrows, however, their skin tone was a mix of theirs and Zoro's.

Sora was sniffling and her face was swollen and wet as she carried the huge stuffed monkey she got from Luffy, while Kuina had a determined face and was holding her sister's hand tightly. They might be twins and be the same age, but Kuina always acted like an older sister for everything Sora needed, she was really similar to Zoro and the woman she was named after. Sora wasn't exactly fragile, as she had enormous strength in her fists and legs, however, she used to be more sensitive and affectionate and this resulted in many tears. Kuina also had her sensitive moments, as she always cried in children's films, but she liked to act tough and you wouldn't stop her.

"Dad! Sora wet the bed!” Kuina screamed as if declaring war and you would have laughed if you knew it wouldn't make the situation worse. When her secret was revealed, Sora cried louder and clung to her sister for shelter.

When you heard the cries and all the commotion, the three of you were already extremely awake and all the excitement had been replaced by worry for two girls. You got up faster and were soon kneeling in front of the two girls, accepting Sora who crawled into your arms, whimpering.

��Oh, honey… It’s okay, there’s no need to cry” you stroked her hair, smiling and trying to calm her down. “You did well, Kuina, but next time don't be so... Loud, your sister might be ashamed of this” you explained calmly, knowing that Kuina wouldn't take it as criticism but rather as a way to evolve.

"Serious? But there’s no need to be ashamed, Sora!” She said, patting her sister gently on the head, “Grandpa Zeff always says Daddy wet the bed a lot as a kid!” She smiled, thinking that this would help her sister to be less ashamed of the situation, which in fact happened, as Sora calmed down and looked at her sister, surprised and now calmer knowing that this was normal. In the background, you could hear Sanji muttering about how he was going to kill his father and Zoro laughing at him.

“Okay, okay, why don’t we change Sora and put you two to sleep again?” You suggested using your shirt to wipe Sora's wet face a little.

“Can we sleep with you tonight, dad?” Sora sniffed, looking at you with those tearful puppy eyes... And of course you weren't able to deny it, even if it meant that your night of wild love had gone to waste.

Some time later, you were all in bed. Sora was clean and in new pajamas, this time a yellow one with cute seaweed and of course her sister also wanted to change to match, and now she was wearing a green one, but with goldfish. Kuina was between you and Sanji already drooling over him, while Sora was curled up in a ball on Zoro's chest who held her tightly to comfort and protect her from everything. You were in the middle of the two and, every now and then, you stroked their hair just to hear your girls' soft breaths.

“Well, they told us to enjoy our honeymoon” Sanji sighed, trying to make a drama about not being able to have a night of love with the two of you, but soon he started laughing softly, making you both laugh too.

“Yeah… and you still wanted one more” Zoro laughed, thinking that if with two children it was already difficult to have a little intimacy, with three it would be impossible.

“I can't help it, I wanted a mini marimo to complete the collection” He laughed and then yawned, feeling sleep taking over him.

“We’ll think about the mini marimo later… For now, let’s just sleep and… Well, maybe these two will stay with Zeff for the weekend” you said, closing your eyes.

I'm wondering if you (or anyone else who sees this) has any advice/resources about detransitioning/retransitioning? I've been living as a trans guy since I was a kid and I'm a young adult now, but I recently I realized that I really miss being a girl and I think I want to socially detransition? And it's really lonely, because the vast majority of people I see talk about detransition online at least are anti-trans and I really don't want to involve myself with them.

I just don't know how to tell my family and friends. I know it's silly because they've always been super supportive, but I just feel like I'm being a burden for wanting to change my name and pronouns yet again. I can't help but worry that they think I'm indecisive or this is just another phase or something.

you know, that's a good suggestion, i really should compile resources for de/retransitioning people, because it's so hard to find good information that isn't clogged with terve nonsense. it deeply bothers me how hard it is for detrans people to find safe community amongst one another without so much violence and hatred. theres absolutely nothing wrong with detransitioning, you can't know if something is for you until you try it. you shouldnt have to involve yourself with transphobic people just because you want to socially detransition

i would say wait to tell your family until you know for sure this is right for you to eliminate those "it's a phase" moments. you don't have to tell family and friends if you're questioning something, it's alright to have that to yourself for a bit. its something deeply personal to you, and it's about you first. you can tell other folks whenever you feel like you're ready to go ahead with things. i would also like to say try to present and feel like yourself in your alone time to boost confidence. if youre able to dress the way you want in private, it can at least help you figure out if you're on the right path or if you're unsure. its okay to be the person you are in private before you show the world.

i will do my best to try to compile some resources for detrans & retrans people that are actually helpful. thank you for bringing this to my attention, it's been bothering me for years that detrans people can't talk to each other because of the state of the tags on this website. if anyone else has any advice feel free to chip in. take care of yourself for now, feel free to reach out again any time

Synopsis → General headcanons for the children of Dionysus.

↳ I feel like a great majority of Cabin 12 kids would be alt, or into scene. Maybe grunge, but generally, their closets consists of darker toned colours.

↳ Adding to this, they’ve all definitely dyed their hair at least once and/or have piercings.

↳ They definitely love theatre, although all to different extents. Some would absolutely love musicals while others are into Shakespeare.

↳ They’re all definitely failing any social science related subjects (Geography, Business Studies, etc.)

↳ Cabin 12 definitely smells like juice, maybe apple, grape, apple black current, just juice. The smell isn’t all that noticeable, as it’s pretty subtle, but it’s still there.

↳ Nails are always painted, no doubt. Whether they’re done up because they like them like that or if it’s to keep them from biting them.

↳ Love fruit with a passion, but can’t stand vegetables. Vegetables are too bland and just are icky to them, while fruit is so good, it’s sweet and juicy.

↳ I feel like they would be good artists, whether painting, sculpting or whatnot. They can even write music and sing pretty well, so they would get along with the Apollo cabin.

↳ Because of their interests in the arts, they all major in something similar or do a subject at school like Drama, Visual Arts, Music, etc.

↳ They love pinecones, and no, I will not elaborate further.

↳ Ariadne actually adores her step kids, and is quite nice to them all. Of course, every time Dionysus claims a son or daughter, she gives him the cold shoulder for a few weeks.

↳ I also feel that kids from Cabin 12 have obscure pets or want one, like snakes, spiders, crows or some other unique animal.

↳ Major ally’s or are apart of the LGBTQ+ community. Like they go hard in support of rights for equality amongst gays and straights, cis and trans, men and women.

↳ Absolutely hard core side eyeing and even outright calling out assholes, misogynists, homophobes, transphobes, and any other disrespectful little prick.

↳ Whenever they’re bored, they go around and cause chaos, but not towards other campers. Towards Mr. D. Since out of everyone, his own children are more likely to get off easier.

↳ Besides, you can NOT tell me that Dionysus isn’t an absolute ride or die for his children. He’s not great at expressing that love, especially since he can’t show favouritism, but all his children mean the world to him.

He wasn’t planning on telling anyone he was trans outside of the team, but some kids who went to his junior high finally made the connection and told his whole year (by extension some of the younger years, and then when they go to matches and stuff they can always hear rumours about “apparently their captain is a girl”- people are usually on the more transphobic side) (writing a fic about this)

so this means that kuroo and the other captains eventually found out, and they were actually super accepting of Daichi (who was so nervous to talk with them after the rumours spread)

his whole family still use his deadname and call him a girl (but the sugawara family has basically adopted him as their own at this point, and treat him like a boy)

his deadname is Yukio (he thinks its a nice name, but has grown to dislike it as whenever he hears it someone is deadnaming him or being transphobic)

Some of them are in the tech department, specifically makeup and product design stuff, so they usually end up testing stuff on him.)

One part of me thinks Loid and Yor shouldn’t have anymore kids (well specifically Yor shouldn’t get pregnant) because that only furthers the natalist undertones I refuse to promote in my work but also Pregnant!Yor and TwiYor baby sound like so much fun eeeeeeee

But here’s my thing, I don’t think yor wants to have kids. Like I think she does but in a “nobody considered the possibility that she wouldn’t kind of way” you know. Like when you read a book or watch a movie and there’s a character who clearly would be better off gay or trans but the creator never actually considered that as a legit choice and so the character was left spiraling. That’s what I think is happening with Yor and motherhood. Because no matter how hard the story tries to convince me otherwise I know that she would be at her happiest alone in a nice house not having to care for anyone and live by her own rules.

To me, rejecting family life and “normality” would be the best conclusion for her character. Because I do believe women who experienced parentification are least likely to want to have kids of their own as adults. I think I’m the end the thing Yor wants the most is freedom, the freedom she lost the day her parents died and the day she became an assassin. I interpret her desire to be normal as a conditioned thought, she knows she’s not normal and that’s her desires for happiness make her abnormal. She feels guilty for not wanting kids or not wanting to be a wife but she’s compelled to prove her normality by participating in traditional gendered roles. Being the person everyone says she should be.

Obviously she has Anya so being child free is out of the bag and she is married so that is also not an option but the beauty is Twilight/Loid can be the one person who actually encourages her to be the independent person that she’s always wanted to be. He can provide her with the support to chase after her dreams and ensure that her relationship with Anya is an authentic one and not just a draining one. Providing her with ample support and not making her feel guilty for not wanting to do certain things. And one of those things is expanding the family. By not having anymore kids and simply focusing on ensuring his wife’s happiness and she is able to live as abnormal as she desires, I do believe twilight can help Yor be the best version of herself.

Yor deserves to be the free young woman she never got to be growing up and her husband and daughter should only enable that lifestyle not restrict it. To me, having more kids would only further confine her to a life of being needed and used which she doesn’t deserve. Let Yor be free. Say no to giving Anya a little sibling. Twilight already has his daughter who he saved for a life of hell he don’t need no more. Reject the natalist belief a story is only complete when the character gets married and has kids. Be free

So a few weeks ago i found out my grandmother is a butch lesbian. I have been assuming that she was queer for a few years now but i never said anything to her as i was terrified (all of my family are religious fanatics and very against queer folks)

Today, I came out to her and it went so nice. I haven’t come out as transgender to any of my family yet as my family hates trans people more then they hate queer folks, and i’m still unsafe. She asked me questions about how i came out and when i knew and about my partner. She’s so supportive of me and god it was so nice to not be the only queer person in my family anymore.

And to make it even BETTER! she’s had a partner for 24 years, who has been coming to family reunions my entire life and i had never suspected. I came out to her too and she told me that she’s known for a few years already now (which i guess makes sense, according to my partner i’ve always looked like a butch dyke) and they have a son together too!

she also gave me a homemade crocheted and sewn bag which is gorgeous AND IN THE BI COLORS!!

i’m so happy, my grandmother and I are gonna video call and talk more and i feel so relieved and comfortable and god it’s so nice especially since i’m from a the midwest and it has been so isolating growing up.

The reason that I was never told about my grandmother or her partner is because my family hid them from us. As kids we were never allowed to hang out with my grandmother and she wasn’t allowed to watch us or babysit me, my siblings or my cousins.

It has been a day holy fuck
