it should be a cut and dry case if you go to a restaurant and get glutened by them. and by case i mean criminal. not just suing for damages and distress.

The thing with having spent 10 ish year working in the heritage industry, with interspersed retail jobs between contracts.

Is that when you leave the heritage world behind, pick up you transferable skills and move to a career where you can get a stable job...

You have moments where you discover just how skewed your perspective on pay scales and benefits are.

#all that to say I got offered a pay rise #and I'm 90% sure my boss expected me to haggle it up #and after the feedback I got since I started this job and today could definitely have argued it #but also the pay rise meant making more money in a year than I ever had before in any other job #meant I just blankly went “yes. ok. sounds good”#and sure its not the biggest salary in the world #and I have other friends in corporate jobs who make considerably more than me #but also that pay increase is going to make such a difference for things #I can save to get my heating fixed for next winter.#increase my pension contribution to try and end up with a semi decent one maybe if I feel like sitting down and budgeting #that kind of thing #They really should teach classes on salary negotiations.
