A nefarious, as yet unknown Gotham villain sends a message to the Batcave that the annual Gotham Easter egg hunt contains eggs that are poisonous/explosive. Jason and Dick are annoyed that a city like Gotham even has an Easter Egg hunt, while Damian reports that all his classmates and definitely half the city's children will be scouring the streets for eggs.

"Idiots." He scoffed, shaking his head. "Egg hunting is a massive waste of time."

"Yes, thanks Damian, that's what we need to hear right now." Tim smiled flatly at him, predicting where this was going.

In order to avoid panic due to the unconfirmed possible bombs, the Batfamily splits into teams to go find eggs, check them and return them back to the hiding places if they aren't explosive. The news picks up on it, rather confused to see the Red Robin, Spoiler, Signal, Orphan and Robin at it, but whatever they're kids. And Orphan looks particularly delighted to find eggs before hiding them somewhere better and Signal lights up the eggs a little and charms the kids.

However, Red Hood and Nightwing look a little more ridiculous, especially since Batman decided to scour the city for the villain instead of the eggs.

"No because he'a a [Censored] coward." Red Hood grumbles to a reporter when asked if Batman will also be participating.

"Oh look I found another one." Nightwing reported excitedly in the same broadcast and Red Hood immediately goes over, both of them examining it.

The side effect of them being out is that more kids decide to look for eggs. There's a mild panic and Steph questions the logic of not telling people the eggs are maybe bombs.

The day comes to a nail-biting end with zero maiming and Alfred reveals it was him and that he threw a pretty extravagant dinner to reward them for their hunting.

Bruce snickers at the look on the kids' faces.

Fanfic Idea! (ABO Lucemond, Pearl of the Sea Snake, of the Seven Tides, of the Realm Itself)

The day the rumors proclaimed that bringing a casket of pearls can help better their chances of being granted an audience with the Lord of the Tides was the day pearls almost ceased to exist anywhere else but in Driftmark.

It all started when Lord Corlys noticed little Lucerys' fascination with the seas' treasure. Every time he was presented with pearls, he would hold it up to the sun with awe and delight in his eyes.

So of course, being the wonderful, favorite grandfather that he is, Lord Corlys would order his ships to bring at least a casket of pearls every time they travel. One merchant caught wind of this, and, needing Lord Corlys' favor, brought an entire casket filled with colored pearls, a rarity that the merchant never wished to part with, but would for the chance to be granted an audience (and possible favor) of the Lord of the Tides.

Lord Corlys, after handing over the casket of colored pearls to little Lucerys' and noticing the shine in his eyes, grant audience with the merchant. Word travelled, and by the time Lucerys was old enough to shadow his grandfather as his heir, the pearls became a symbol of status because of it's extreme rarity outside of Driftmark, even the wealthiest house could only ever have one small pearl as a sign of their nobility, given to the master of the house.

Lucerys was known as the Pearl, sometimes of the Sea Snake, sometimes of the Seven Seas, sometimes of the Realm Itself. He was never without pearls, on his neck, on his ears, his grandfather even ordered the smiths to create a crown embedded in pearls (despite the refusal of Lucerys and the warnings of Rhaenys), ordered the dressmakers to create dresses designed with the pearls, hells, once Lucerys' hair grew, he asked to have pearls braided into his hair. It was a hilarious day when Lucerys asked to braid pearls on Corlys' hair, for despite Lucerys' subpar efforts, Lord Corlys wore the braids and pearls proudly, to the exasperation of Rhaenys and to the amusement of the rest of his grandchildren.

Some may call it an extreme amount of flaunting, as even one pearl could feed a smallfolk for ten years, some may say it was worth it, seeing how Lucerys' was quite the sight, painters and musicians see him as their muse, as they create art about their Pearl of the Realms, but Lord Corlys paid no heed to their words, because the sight of a smiling grandson draped in pearls was a sight he loved the most.

When Aemond married Lucerys, Corlys sent an entire casket of gold pearls to Lucerys, the rarest type of pearl he could find. His pride couldn't have match the very seas he sailed on when he saw his grandson wear the gold pearls, though he did felt annoyance when he saw said pearls also braided into Aemond's hair.

Lucerys began braiding Aemond's hair with pearls every day, saying it suits him more (it does not, at least, in Corlys' eyes). Corlys will begrudgingly admit that the sight of both of them with pearls on their hair warms his heart, a new family tradition born out of (his) love.

When Lucerys and Aemond had children of their own, they too, wore pearls on their hair (Lucerys had to be extra careful to make sure the pearls stay on the hair, seeing how rambunctious they were). The children were a delight to Corlys, he even allowed them to braid the pearls on his hair, and though he looked absolutely ridiculous and Rhaenys was close to laughter every time Corlys allowed them anywhere near his hair, he still wore it the entire day with pride (the entire night consisted of Rhaenys carefully de-tangling Corlys' hair and trying to make sure they wouldn't need to cut it off).

When Corlys passed, and Lucerys was made the new Lord of the Tides, he still wore the pearls. Once, Aemond did ask why Lucerys always wore pearls in the first place, and Lucerys just shrugged.

He didn't know either, but ever since he could remember, his grandfather always gifted him pearls, and he loved when his grandfather was happy, so he accepted it all. Now that his grandfather was gone, Lucerys wore the pearls to feel his grandfather's presence, to find comfort and strength as he ruled Driftmark the way Corlys has taught him to. He wished to pass this on to his children, so they too, may find comfort and strength from the pearls once he too would pass one day, and Aemond agreed.

durge and orin being siblings has to be the best thing that ever happened to bhaal. i just know their fighting for daddy’s approval would immediately outshine any criticism they had of him. like orin is sad she killed the girl she was seeing because it was getting too serious and goes to durge for support. durge gives a solid twenty seconds of reassurance before lying about how that has never happened to them before. orin backtracks and changes her story because it was actually awesome and poetic, really! durge calls her out. the entire thing turns into a petty verbal slap fight before they can even think about how much it sucks they can’t/aren’t allowed to maintain meaningful relationships. another time durge casually laments they never have time for hobbies. orin says she doesn’t need hobbies, murder is her entire life, durge calls art her hobby, orin calls her art worship, somehow sceleritas ends up stabbed. basically the two of them successfully pivot from a valid complaint to “look dad i love murder, dad, dad, look dad i’m better at murder than my sibling.” every time any crappy aspect of being a bhaalspawn comes up

SCU Headcanon

You can not convince me that Maria Robotnik was not a Doctor Who fan.

Maria strikes me as a Sci-Fi fan, and depending where the G.U.N. base was, Doctor Who would have been on air.

So I think Maria and Shadow -- and sometimes Gerald-- would watch it together. (Gerald would have complained about the science being completely wrong, but he bared through it because his granddaughter loved it.)

As for Shadow-- his opinion was natural. He claims he was only watching it because Maria liked it, but... I think he kind of resonated with it (albeit a little, considering the Doctor's backstory wasn't established yet -- but an alien that wasn't the bad guy must have been refreshing). And maybe some of the stories hooked him in.

They'd watch it whenever they got the chance.

[50 Years Later]

Shadow finds out the show is still going (he might have been "forced" into a movie night and came across it as the boys were looking for a film to watch). He doesn't suggest it, but the quiet air of wistfulness is clocked by the boys.

Once Sonic realizes that some ice has been broken-- some research is done, a couple DVDs are rented from the library, and asks Shadow if he wants to join him.

That's how the two end up binge-watching Doctor Who over the better part of a year. Sometimes, they're joined by others (Tails would point out scientific errors, though he tries to not talk over the show, and Knuckles would nope out whenever supernatural stuff happens).

And, for the first time in a while, Shadow feels like he's home.

Time-warped or travel scenario where Bruce gets launched back into a younger version of himself with all the memories and the first thing he does is goes and gets Dick Grayson right after his parents' death, then pick up Jason, arrange about a million playmates to get Tim out of his house, and once he has those kids happy and taken care of, he goes off to find Cass, helps Steph with her dad, and leaves a very pointed voice-mail for Talia.

Alfred thinks he's more mentally ill than usual for knowing exactly which orphans and as he pointedly reminds Bruce, "children whose parents are still very much alive" he's trying to steal and adopt.

Bruce heatedly replies that they're his kids and that he's going to do everything right this time, rendering Alfred absolutely speechless until Bruce asks if Alfred would be able to make dinner for his new brood of kids.

"Try and remember who you're speaking to Master Bruce, I've thrown dinner parties with less notice"

"Great because I have a list of allergies and some notes on favourite foods."

I know. PROBABLY the hardest starting character, but I've played Waste of Skin class in Bloodborne.

(signs heavily because i am passionate about this) so i want to point out the slight difference in vocals that grandfather spider had during his time in the Hive as Old Cob vs. when he's loose in the Spiral as Grandfather Spider

so like. this could entirely just be me living in a fantasy rainbow land but i swear there is a SLIGHT change. in the Hive, Old Cob's voice sounds a bit more monotone, husky, and raspy. like he hasn't spoken in a long time. he sounds like how people sound when they first get up in the morning. it's a bit rougher. it feels like his voice is lightly scratching my ears and brain like one of those sponges.

(this could also be part of an act to seem more harmless to us)

but then his later appearances, ALL OF THAT is gone. Spider's voice is still super deep but he has more inflections in it. he doesn't sound like before where it seemed like it was an effort to even speak, he sounds more lively now. his voice is smoother and it slides up and down effortlessly, like he's feeling more emotion. and he is. he was literally and figuratively set free and now he can act however he wants.

he's also speaking a bit more quickly. in the Hive it felt like he was taking just a nanosecond longer to pronounce things than his later appearances

he even laughs more once he's out of prison. albeit like only twice but he has a few chuckles in there. spider also sounds more playful, especially when he's interacting with mellori OR ESPECIALLY THE WIZARD. his mirage dialogue was INSANE!!!!! HE SOUNDED MOCKING!!!! HE WAS HAVING FUN AND I COULD HEAR IT- sorry.

so the point of this entire essay is, i feel like his change in voice and inflections really fit what was going on in the story. just being released out of the void + trying to appear a certain way vs. finally being free to express his true emotions and thoughts/having more practice at talking. i could be imagining this,
