Nourish Your Beauty: The Ultimate Fall Vegetable Guide
As the seasons shift, so do our nutritional needs—and the vegetables that thrive in the cooler months are packed with vitamins and minerals perfect for keeping your skin glowing and your health strong. For the Feminine Woman, integrating seasonal produce into your diet not only nourishes your body but also radiates beauty from within. Here are the best fall veggies to stock up on and their incredible benefits for both your health and your skin.
1. Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, which your body converts into Vitamin A—a key nutrient for maintaining healthy skin. Vitamin A helps prevent dry skin, keeps it soft, and promotes a youthful appearance by encouraging cell turnover.
Beauty Benefits:
• Glowing Skin: Beta-carotene protects your skin from UV damage and gives it a natural, radiant glow.
• Anti-aging: The high antioxidant content fights free radicals, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
• Hydration: The Vitamin C in sweet potatoes aids in collagen production, helping to keep skin plump and moisturized.
How to Use: Roast sweet potato slices with olive oil, rosemary, and a pinch of sea salt for a simple yet delicious side dish.
2. Kale
Kale, the queen of greens, is one of the most nutrient-dense vegetables you can add to your diet in fall. It’s loaded with Vitamins C, E, and K, which are crucial for skin health, elasticity, and wound healing.
Beauty Benefits:
• Cleanses Your Skin: Kale’s high fiber helps to detoxify the body, leading to clearer, more even-toned skin.
• Fight Acne: The Vitamin C in kale reduces inflammation, making it a perfect addition to combat blemishes.
• Skin Elasticity: Vitamin K helps with skin elasticity, reducing dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.
How to Use: Add kale to a smoothie for a nutrient boost or sauté it with garlic for a quick, nutrient-packed side.
3. Butternut Squash
Butternut squash is high in Vitamin E, beta-carotene, and potassium, which help your skin stay hydrated, soft, and smooth. It’s perfect for preventing signs of aging while keeping your skin firm.
Beauty Benefits:
• Hydrated Skin: Butternut squash helps retain moisture in your skin due to its rich potassium content.
• Even Skin Tone: Its Vitamin E helps even out your complexion and reduces hyperpigmentation.
• Firmness: The collagen-boosting properties of Vitamin C in this squash keep your skin looking firm and youthful.
How to Use: Roast butternut squash and blend it into a creamy soup or cube it for a hearty salad.
4. Brussels Sprouts
Brussels sprouts are often underrated but are a powerhouse when it comes to skin health. Rich in Vitamin C, Brussels sprouts promote collagen production, which helps maintain your skin’s firmness and elasticity.
Beauty Benefits:
• Brighter Skin: Vitamin C boosts your skin’s radiance, making it look brighter and more youthful.
• Collagen Boost: Collagen production is essential for skin structure and elasticity, reducing sagging and fine lines.
• Detox: Brussels sprouts help detoxify the skin, flushing out harmful toxins and leaving your complexion clear.
How to Use: Roast Brussels sprouts with balsamic vinegar for a tangy, crunchy side dish that’s perfect for fall.
5. Beets
Beets are known for their blood-purifying properties, which lead to clearer, healthier skin. They’re also loaded with antioxidants that prevent signs of premature aging.
Beauty Benefits:
• Glowing Skin: Beets help boost blood circulation, resulting in a natural flush and radiant complexion.
• Detox Power: The high iron content in beets helps detoxify the body, keeping skin clear and blemish-free.
• Anti-Inflammatory: Beets’ anti-inflammatory properties reduce puffiness and redness.
How to Use: Add roasted beets to salads or blend them into smoothies for a pop of vibrant color and nutrients.
Incorporating these seasonal veggies into your fall diet will not only boost your health but also enhance your beauty from the inside out. These nutrient-packed powerhouses will keep your skin hydrated, youthful, and glowing as the temperatures drop.
So, head to your local farmer’s market, stock up on these fall essentials, and let your natural beauty shine!

protecting your space
hi all! i just moved and was cleansing my new home; prepping it to be lived in and all that. i got to thinking about what other people do for themselves and, well, that's where this came from! the order of step one and two is unimportant, plus keep in mind that everyone does things differently. every culture has their own idea about how to cleanse a space/person, and none of them are wrong.
STEP ONE: CLEANSING
Immediate Disclaimer: Anyone/anyplace that uses the term "smudging" (using it out of it's cultural context) is a source you should be wary of. Smudging is a set of very specific rituals that were created and are used by indigenous americans. The use of sage, palo santo, sweet grass, hawk feathers, evil eyes/hamsa are all practices specific to certain cultures. If you're just someone not of those cultures trying to cleanse your space, I recommend the following techniques.
-Burning lavender, rosemary, or cedar bundles
-Burning incense
-Burning frankincense/myrrh
-Putting salt at the boundaries of your home, inside or out
-Putting ground eggshells at the boundaries of your home, probably best to do this outside for the smell
-Actually cleaning your home
-Sprinkle essential oils on the corners of a room or in doorways
-Selenite is also a great cleansing stone, although I usually use it for individual items instead of a whole space
-Moon water can also be a good replacement for essential oils
-Ring sacred (to you) or enchanted bells throughout the home
STEP TWO: WARDING
This is a step that varies a lot more from person to person. There are certainly plenty of spells out there available to you, but some people have created their own spells, others will use certain iconography, herbs, etc. Either way, know that it is not necessary for you to do every one of these things--I honestly doubt a space will get any more or less safe depending on how many of these you do. Also, for your own safety, make sure you're doing the appropriate non-witchy things to keep yourself safe. Just because you have a nice sigil above your unlocked door doesn't mean that someone will be automatically unable to rob you. Anways, here are just some of my ideas.
-Put a bundle of rosemary above a doorway
-Create a spell jar/bag with any of these materials or these, I also recommend including some of yourself in a jar like this
-Sprinkle black salt around entryways
-Use a spell like this or this
-Draw a rune (i use algiz) on entryways (i use essential oils and blood for this, but to each their own)
-Draw a sigil like this or these on entryways
-Pray to a certain deity for protection, or put their iconography up (for example, an ansuz rune for odin)
-Burning incense and using essential oils will ward away negativity, but they don't last for long periods of time in my experience
-Make use of a crystal grid to manifest your intentions
-Salt and eggshells also help to ward off negativity entering your space!
STEP THREE: UPKEEP
Now, how do we keep the wards and cleansing sustained? Well, there are a variety of methods. A lot of these can be done as your intuition tells you they need to be renewed, or done at a regular interval that works for you. Still, upkeep is important!
-Redo the spell you did every full moon or at another important time for you
-Refresh herbs and salt/eggshells when they get old or fall apart
-Break open your spell jar/sachet and recleanse the ingredients or just add new ones
-Clean up any salt/black salt/eggshells and put down new lines
-Add more essential oil/moon water to the locations you put them in before
-Redraw sigils/runes when they fade or get scratched off
-Pray to the deity who is looking out for you often/do devotional activities
-Burn more incense, herbs, or frankincense/myrrh, or cleanse with bells again
-Clean your room/house/depression hovel

🌿Plant Spirit Devotion: Herbal Altars
So this is alittle unorthodox but I've been keeping/tending an Altar specifically for my current Herbal Ally, atleast for the duration of my active devotional to that Plant Spirit (my post about Plant Spirit Devotionals). Currently my altar is set up for Rosemary pictured below. The Purpose of these altars is not to worship or revere the Spirit in the same way that my Persephone Altar exists to venerate the goddess. In my mind a Herbal Altar exists as a dedicated space for the spirit which acts as a reminder of the spirit throughout the day, while the aromatics of the Herbs themselves and the general energy of the Plant is allowed to suffuse the area.
My Rosemary Altar pictured above contains the following:
Fresh Rosemary: Personally I think the most important thing on a Herbal Altar should be the plant itself, ideally a living plant but when that is unavailable the best alternative is fresh plant matter.
Dried Rosemary: Failing fresh plant matter, dried herbs can work just as well.
Rosemary Essential Oil: An essential oil or similar product made using the plant represents the myriad forms the Herbal Ally can take in your Practice.
A Herbal Flash card for Rosemary: This card not only has beautiful artwork depicting the Herb but on the opposite side contains information revolving around Rosemary's mundane and magical properties allow with a short botanical dossier. This is a representation of the Plants properties and what you can learn from it.
An associated Tarot/Oracle card: In My case I like to have a representative Tarot card for my Herbal Allies, I use the Bottanical Deck by Jessica Bott which happens to have a Card for Rosemary.
A tea light candle dressed in Rosemary oil and dried Rosemary: A representative of the Herb role in rituals, and in my broader practice. I plan on burning this on the last day of my devotional.

It TIIMEEES!
You all know my passion for beauty and self care especially when it is DIY ! Like there is nothing better than taking care of yourself in the comfort of your home ( except maybe a 5 star but hey we do we what we can )
So here is few homemade recipe to take care of yourself right in your casa babes!
Hair mask :
1 ripe avocado
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons olive oil (or coconut oil)
Optional: a few drops of essential oil (like lavender or rosemary)
Instructions:
Prepare the Avocado: Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
Mash the Ingredients: Use a fork or a blender to mash the avocado until smooth.
Mix in Other Ingredients: Add the honey and olive oil (and essential oil, if using) to the mashed avocado. Mix well until you have a creamy consistency.
Apply the Mask: Start with clean, damp hair. Apply the mask evenly, focusing on the ends and any dry areas. You can use a comb to help distribute it.
Let It Sit: Cover your hair with a shower cap or a towel to keep the mask warm. Leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour.
Sugar wax :
2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
Instructions:
Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar, water, and lemon juice.
Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves.
Cook the Mixture: Once dissolved, stop stirring and let it boil. Keep an eye on it, as it can bubble up. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture turns a golden amber color. Use a candy thermometer to check the temperature; it should reach about 240°F (115°C).
Cool Down: Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Pour it into a heat-safe container and allow it to cool completely.
Check Consistency: Once cooled, the wax should be pliable but not too sticky. If it's too hard, you can add a little water and heat it again briefly.
Face mask :
2 tablespoons plain yogurt (preferably unsweetened)
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon oatmeal (finely ground)
Optional: a few drops of essential oil (like tea tree or lavender)
Instructions:
Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the yogurt, honey, and oatmeal. Mix until you have a smooth paste.
Add Essential Oil: If desired, add a few drops of your chosen essential oil and mix again.
Apply the Mask: Clean your face and gently apply the mask evenly, avoiding the eye area.
Let It Sit: Allow the mask to sit for about 15-20 minutes.
Rinse Off: Rinse your face with warm water, gently massaging in circular motions to exfoliate.
Finish with a splash of cool water to close the pores.
Detox shot :
Ingredients:
1-inch piece of fresh ginger (helps with digestion and inflammation)
1/2 lemon (rich in vitamin C, supports immune function, and helps with digestion)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (supports digestion and balances pH)
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties)
A pinch of cayenne pepper (boosts metabolism and circulation)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions:
Prepare the ingredients:Grate or finely chop the fresh ginger.Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
Blend: In a blender, combine the ginger, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, turmeric powder, cayenne pepper, and honey (if using).Add about 2–3 tablespoons of water to help with blending.
Strain (optional):If you prefer a smoother shot, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any pulp.
Serve:Pour into a small shot glass (about 1 to 2 ounces).Stir well before drinking, as some ingredients might settle at the bottom.
So girlies, i hope this helps and see you on my next blog!!!

𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐲!
Mabon marks the Fall Equinox! Typically observed on September 21 in the Northern Hemisphere, Mabon spans from September 21 to September 29. It is a time of balance, when day and night are equal in length, symbolizing harmony and equilibrium. Many cultures celebrate this period as a time of thanksgiving and reflection, honoring the bountiful harvest and the changing of the seasons. Traditional festivities might include feasts with seasonal foods like apples, pumpkins, and squash, along with activities such as gathering with loved ones, giving thanks, and preparing for the colder months ahead.
People often take this opportunity to connect with nature, perhaps by taking walks in the crisp autumn air, collecting colorful leaves, or setting up altars with symbols of the season. It's also a time for introspection, to consider what has been achieved over the past months and to set intentions for the future.
In modern times, Mabon encourages a moment of pause in our busy lives, reminding us to appreciate the abundance around us, to cultivate gratitude, and to seek balance in our own lives. Whether through quiet reflection, community gatherings, or simply enjoying a warm cup of cider while watching the leaves fall, Mabon offers a beautiful reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the ever-present opportunity for renewal and growth.

This list is for those witches who may still be in the closet. These activities can pass as “Autumnal Activities” to others! Here are some subtle yet enchanting ways to celebrate your craft:
Nature Walks: Collect leaves, acorns, and other natural items to use in your spells and crafts. It’s a great way to connect with nature and gather supplies without drawing attention.
Pumpkin Carving: Carve symbols or sigils into your pumpkins. Not only are they festive, but they can also serve as protection or intention-setting.
Candle Making: Create your own candles with herbs and essential oils. You can infuse them with specific intentions and use them for rituals later on.
Baking: Make seasonal treats like apple pie or pumpkin bread. Incorporate herbs and spices that have magical properties, such as cinnamon for prosperity or nutmeg for luck.
Herb Drying: Harvest and dry herbs for your witchy cabinet. Hang bundles of rosemary or lavender in your kitchen to dry; it looks like you're just readying them for cooking.
Gardening: Plant bulbs or prepare your garden for winter. This is a great way to work with the earth and practice your green-thumb magic.
Reading: Dive into books about folklore, mythology, or herbalism. It’s a cozy way to expand your knowledge and connect with ancient traditions. (Kindle has a phone app, if you cannot have physical books)
DIY Crafts: Make wreaths, potpourri, or sachets with found natural items. These can be used for decoration or as part of your magical practice.
Tea Time: Brew different herbal teas. Experiment with blends that have magical properties to set intentions or simply relax.
Moon Watching: Keep track of the moon phases and spend time outside during the full moon. This can be a meditative practice and a way to align with lunar energies.
By incorporating these activities into your routine, you can celebrate your witchy side while blending seamlessly into the autumnal festivities. Happy enchanting!

Apples are a common symbol of Mabon/Autumn Equinox for many pagans, wiccans, and witches. They can be incorporated into many different kinds of spell work for abundance, health, renewal, planting the seed of an idea/intention & knowledge. Apples can be used in magick by cutting them in half horizontally to reveal the star inside. Spell ingredients can then be sprinkled on top. Other ways of using apples is to dry then to decorate your altar or space with. You can gather apples to return to the Earth by burying them to give thanks for the Harvest. Cooking with apples is a perfect way to celebrate Mabon. Whether you make a warm apple pie, a spiced cider, or a savory apple stew, these dishes can be shared with loved ones to honor the season. The act of cooking itself becomes a ritual, infusing each dish with your intentions and gratitude.
Additionally, apples can be used in divination practices. By peeling an apple in a single strip and tossing the peel over your shoulder, the shape it forms when it lands can reveal the initial of a future partner or give you insight into a question you hold in your heart. Scrying with apple seeds is another method; by placing seeds on a hot surface and watching their movement, you can glean messages and guidance.
Incorporating apples into your daily routines during Mabon can also help you remain connected to the cycles of nature. Enjoying a fresh apple as a mindful snack, reflecting on its journey from blossom to fruit, can be a simple yet profound way to express appreciation for the Earth's bounty. Decorating your home with apple-themed items, such as candles, wreaths, or even apple-scented essential oils, can further enhance the seasonal ambiance.

⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Mabon, also known as the Autumn Equinox, is a significant festival in the Wheel of the Year, celebrated by many Pagans and Wiccans. The name "Mabon" itself is relatively modern, coined by Aidan Kelly in the 1970s, yet the festival's roots stretch back to ancient times. It marks the second of three harvest festivals, following Lammas and preceding Samhain. Occurring around September 21-23 in the Northern Hemisphere, Mabon represents a time of balance when day and night are of equal length. This event symbolizes the gradual descent into the darker half of the year, as the days grow shorter and the nights longer.
Historically, many cultures have celebrated the equinox with various customs and rituals. In ancient Greece, the festival of Eleusinia honored Demeter, the goddess of the harvest, and her daughter Persephone. The myth of Persephone's descent into the underworld and her eventual return is a powerful allegory for the changing seasons and the cycle of life and death. Similarly, in ancient Rome, the festival of Pomona celebrated the goddess of fruits and orchards, reflecting the importance of the harvest season. In the British Isles, the equinox was a time of thanksgiving and community gatherings, with people coming together to celebrate and share the bounty of the harvest.
Modern Mabon celebrations often involve giving thanks for the earth's abundance, reflecting on themes of balance and gratitude, and preparing for the coming winter months. Rituals may include offerings of fruits, vegetables, and grains, as well as meditative practices to honor the seasonal shift. Many contemporary Pagans and Wiccans also incorporate elements of ancient traditions, such as feasting, storytelling, and connecting with nature. Mabon serves as a reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the importance of living in harmony with the rhythms of the earth.

How to Use Herbs : Rosemary
Hwello there. We have talked about rosemary and its uses in a previous post. If you haven't read it, please click here: Rosemary
Now I shall provide some spells, tonics, recipes and etc on where you can utilize it. Let us begin :)
Author's Note: From I noticed a part is usually a teaspoon. You can add more according to your needs, but I would always start with that measurement first.
Alchemist Formula for Binding:
One part benzoin gum (Saturn, binding)
One part patchouli (Saturn,binding)
One part Solomon's seal (Saturn, protective)
One part rosemary oil (Saturn, protective)
One part frankincense oil (Sun, success)
Mental Focus Magical Tea:
I part rosemary
1/2 part spearmint
1 cup of boiling water
Mix herbs in a small jar
To brew, pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of the herbal blend.
Steep for 5 - 7 minute. Strain and drink.
Spells:
Remembrance for Lost Love (Heartache Healer)

Kitchen Witch Recipes:
Super-Quick Bonus Recipe for Gwion’s Red Onion Pickle Bliss
Fills one pint-sized jar
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes, plus 30 minutes to cool in the fridge
1 medium red onion
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup water
10 black peppercorns
2/3 cup white wine vinegar,
rice vinegar, or apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 sprig rosemary
1 clove garlic, peeled and halved
Slice the onion very thinly and place it in your clean, dry jar. Set it aside.
Add the rest of the ingredients to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil until the sugar has fully dissolved. Stir carefully so you don’t break the rosemary. The sprig is in there to add flavour, and you’ll discard it before the next step.
Let the pickling mixture (the water, vinegar, and spices) cool down for about 10 minutes. Discard the sprig of rosemary and pour the remaining
ingredients into the jar of onions. Make sure all of the onions are submerged
in the picking liquid. If you have to, use a spoon to push the onions down in the jar. Seal the jar and put it in the fridge to cool. The onions are ready to eat once they are cool, about 30 minutes.
Serve them on avocado toast, burgers, salads, or just with a fork straight out of the jar. Remember to kiss your partner or partners before eating the onions out of the jar, unless they’re into pungent kisses.
Goat for a God: Roasted Goat Leg with Grape Molasses
Great for Deities: Dionysus, Pan and Thor
Serves : 6
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes
1 goat leg (about 3 pounds)
1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cumin
2 teaspoons black pepper
4 tablespoons grape molasses
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon coriander
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
1 cup white wine + one glass for sipping and toasting while cooking (use mead if you're cooking this for Thor)
1 bay leaf
2 large carrots, chopped into
1" chunks
1 celery root, peeled and chopped into 1" cubes
Open the bottle of white wine or mead and take a hefty drink. (This is optional but deities do like when you drink with them but they can respect if you don't partake.)
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Liberally season the goat leg with salt and pepper.
Rub the minced garlic all over the goat leg too. If it helps, poke a few holes in the goat leg so you can get the garlic right into the meat.
Place the rosemary sprigs and bay leaf in the bottom of a large roasting pan and put the goat leg right on top. Add the carrots and celery root around the edges. Pour the olive oil all over the goat and rub it around. Coat the carrots and celery root too.
Pour the white wine around the bottom of the roasting pan.
Loosely cover with kitchen foil and put the whole pan into the oven for 2 hours.
About an hour and forty-five minutes into the cooking process, it’s time to make the glaze.
Mix the grape molasses—which is a super-condensed syrup made of grape must—in a bowl with a tablespoon of olive oil, the coriander, and the cumin. You can substitute honey for the grape molasses if for Thor.
At the two-hour mark, pull the roasting pan out of the oven and paint the goat with the grape (or honey) and spice glaze.
Pop the goat and veggies, uncovered, back into the oven for another 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 145° F.
When you’re ready to serve this dish, scoop the veggies into a bowl (fornow) and put the goat leg on a platter. If you have access to one, get a cedar plank and serve the goat on it.
Medical Tonics and Infusions:
Infusion- An infusion is the simplest way to prepare the more delicate aerial parts of plants, especially leaves and flowers, for use as a medicine or as a revitalizing or relaxing drink. It is made in a similar way to tea, using either a single herb or a combination of herbs, and may be drunk hot or cold.
Pot Infusion
For a cup:
1 tsp (2–3 g) dried or 2 tsp (4–6 g) fresh herb (or mixture of herbs) to a cup of water
For a pot:
20 g dried herb or 30 g fresh herb (or a mixture of different herbs) to 2 cups (500 ml) of water
Warm the pot, then add the herb.
Pour in water that has just boiled, replace the lid, and infuse for 10 minutes.
Strain some of the infusion into a cup. A teaspoon of honey may be added if desired.
Storage:
Store in a covered jug in a refrigerator or cool place for up to 24 hours.
Tonic Making
Standard Quantity:
200 g dried or 300 g fresh herb chopped into small pieces to 1 quart (1 liter) alcohol—vodka of 35–40% alcohol is ideal, although rum hides the taste of bitter or unpalatable herbs
Standard Dosage:
Take 1 tsp (5 ml) 2 –3 times a day diluted in 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp (25 ml) of water or fruit juice.
Place the herb in a large, clean glass jar and pour on the alcohol, ensuring that the herb is covered. Close and label the jar.
Shake well for 1–2 minutes and store in a cool dark place for 10–14 days, shaking the jar every 1–2 days.
Set up the wine press, placing a muslin or nylon mesh bag securely inside. Pour in the mixture and collect the liquid in the jug.
Slowly close the wine press, extracting the remaining liquid from the herbs until no more drips appear. Discard the leftover herbs.
Pour the tincture into clean, dark glass bottles using a funnel. When full, stopper with a cork or screw top and label the bottles.
Storage:
Store in sterilized, dark glass bottles in a cool dark place for up to 2 years. An amber glass jar is the best option.
Sorry this post is so long @_@ But please enjoy and use wisely. Bye byes~

@a-kayy47.
ANNIE.
You had gotten home much later than you promised Kayleigh.
Opening the front door and stepping in, you could feel the warmth of your home. It was cosy, even with the lights turned off, and you could feel yourself loosen up. The familiar scent of rosemary lingered in the air, a testament to the essential oils you religiously diffused. The soft hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen and the gentle creak of the wooden floorboards beneath your feet were comforting reminders of the sanctuary you had created.
Walking up the stairs, you aimed for your daughter’s room. Without fail, every single night you gave her a kiss while she was asleep. No matter what time you got home, you still did it. It let your baby girl know you were home, safe, without waking her up. It was like she had a sixth sense when it came to you.
On those nights when you hadn’t kissed her, she knew. She would wake up the next morning and say, “did you forget to do something last night?”
So, at nearly four in the morning, you dragged your tired arse up to her room and smooched her cheek. Her hair was a mess on the pillow, her arms wrapped around her favourite toy. Kayleigh looked so much younger while she slept. It reminds you of those years before Charming. Struggling to make ends meet, doing it all on your own. Eighteen with a newborn. No one to lean on. No partner. No family. Just your strength. And the desire to make your daughter’s life the best it can be.
As you made your way down the stairs, you saw your neighbor/baby-sitter/best friend asleep on the couch, her phone inches away from her face. You know she kept it close in case of emergencies.
When you first moved to Charming, you had gotten along with Dallas within minutes of meeting her. You remember it like it was yesterday. You had been so scared moving to a new town. And yet, she made you feel at ease instantly.
She had shaken your hand gently with soft hands and long acrylic red nails. Dallas seemed to glimmer (and she did – never leaving the house without covering herself in shimmer cream.) You liked her instantly. You could tell she was genuine. Because there was a sadness in her eyes that she covered up as much kindness as she could.
And so, you trusted her with Kayleigh. She didn’t mind babysitting, not at all. It also helped that you gave her free makeup and hair appointments. It was a win-win. Especially when Kayleigh had gotten attached to the town’s former beauty queen.
You smiled, covering Dallas with a blanket before heading to your own room. Sleep came quickly but lasted only a few hours.
HAPPY.
The Club needed Happy for an … issue. They always came to him when they had these particular problems. He was good at it. Harsh, unyielding and discreet. Okay, sometimes not so discreet. But he handled it, no matter how gruesome it became. Because sometimes a gun wasn’t the best way to get a man to talk.
When Happy was younger, he used to grapple with the thoughts of guilt and shame. With age, with more violence; that slowly disappeared. Like clouds moving to cover the sun, those feelings too were covered.
Now the only thing that seemed to redeem Happy was his family. That’s what made him feel the light. The weight of death was easy to shrug off when those he loved surrounded him. His mother, his sisters, his aunts, nieces and nephews; they mean the world to him.
But the Club is, his life. And what they ask, he will do.
That’s how he got to where he is now. Tig the only other Son with him as they pried information out of the man in front of them.
The lights were dimmed, the walls had been painted a dark brown – nearly black. The floor was covered with a tarp, the closest bench had various tools atop it, some clean, some bloodied.
There was a constant drip, drip, drip, of blood. Only Happy could hear it, Tig had turned up the music to cover the screams. Except this man hadn’t been screaming. The only noise that came out of him was a deep grunt.
He was tied to a chair. Pinkies cut from the bone. Taking ten digits to eight.
Happy was quite impressed by the way this man held his tongue. No information spilled from his mouth. Not yet.
Happy wiped his brow, the sweat mixing with the blood on his hands. Tig's eyes met his, a silent conversation passing between them. They needed answers and this was taking too long.
Out came the sharper tool, and though resilient, the man was beginning to falter. Happy knew this was it, he could see it in the man's eyes—desperation, fear, and the tiniest flicker of surrender.
"Just tell us what we need to know," Tig growled, his patience wearing thin. But the man remained silent, his resolve steadfast despite the agony he endured.
Happy's thoughts drifted briefly to his family, the light in his otherwise dark world. He wondered what his mother would think if she saw him now, covered in blood, forcing confessions out of men. But he shook the thought away; this was his life, and he had made peace with it.
"Last chance," Happy said, his voice cold and unyielding. "Talk, or we'll make you wish you had."
The man's eyes flickered with a moment of hesitation. Happy leaned in closer, and the man spilled information like a teakettle boiling over.
ANNIE.
You felt as if you had barely slept.
The alarm beeped and you thought ‘surely I pressed the wrong button.’ But you heard the tapping of feet on the ground and then a small body rushed towards you.
“Mum!” Kayleigh wrapped her arms around you and kissed your hair. Blinking away the drowsiness, you smiled at her and dragged her closer to you.
“Hey baby,” you murmured, snuggling into her. Happiness bubbled in your stomach as you stroked her hair. Soft and smooth, even if it was a partial nest on her head. But as the timer kept going off, you knew you had to get up for another day.
Exhaustion had gotten the better of you, and autopilot had kicked in. After packing Kayleigh’s lunchbox for school, getting her ready and then yourself, you locked the front door and got the both of you in the car.
You didn’t notice the black car parked in Dallas’ driveway. Not until Kayleigh asked if your neighbor had gotten a new car.
“Huh? Oh, uh. I think she would have told us if she got a new one,” but you looked in your rearview mirror as you drove away.
The salon was already open by the time you arrived. School drop off was always longer than expected. Especially with the type of parents that were there. Always wanting to talk (gossip) or complain.
You knew not many liked you. Saw you as too outspoken,
But you couldn’t get the thought of that big black car in Dallas’ driveway. She had left before you woke up. She always did.
And usually she sends you a message – yet you realized she hadn’t. There was nothing from her. And that’s when the alarm bells went off. You knew her job, and that it had its’ risks.
“Shit,” you muttered. Something felt wrong; and you couldn’t turn to the police. So, there was only one choice.
You rang Gemma from outside the salon. Her appointment wasn’t for another four hours; so, you couldn’t wait for her to come in. You had to chase after her… and god did it make you feel anxious.
Months ago, you swapped numbers. You thought she was just being polite, but little did you know she saw you struggling. A mother alone, barely any help, working as many jobs as she could handle. Gemma felt for you. So, she offered to help whenever you needed it.
And you need it now.
“Hey Annie, is everything alright?”
“Um, no. I don’t think it is – my friend. I think she’s in trouble. I need your help.”
At the other end of the line, Gemma was tickling Thomas on the tummy as he laid down. His feet kicking in the air. She was enamored by her grandson and nearly missed your words. She thought maybe her appointment needed to be rescheduled.
Your heart was beating so fast you thought you might be having a heart attack. You were a mix of hot and cold, sweating and freezing.
“It’s okay honey. Just tell me what’s up and we’ll get it all sorted out.”
HAPPY.
It took a while for the fucker to break but he did in the end. Now the two Sons rode in a beat-up van, in the back, the man’s body was wrapped in the tarp. Dead. It was always going to end that way. But some guys just held out hope that it wouldn’t. This one did, until his right hand had no fingers left. And his left ear was gone.
The van rumbled along the highway, a trail of dust kicking up behind them.
Inside, the air was thick with the scent of sweat and cigarette smoke, mingling with the faint metallic tang of blood. The silence between them was comfortable, each man lost in his thoughts.
There was a sudden and constant buzz in Happy’s pocket. His mobile rang. He was the type of person to always check his phone as soon as it went off. Always scared it could be his mother – or about her.
But the caller ID was familiar.
Happy picked it up and answered.
“Really? Yeah no, no it’s fine. Just let us … get cleaned up and we’ll be there.”
“Who was that?” Tig asked, one hand on the wheel, the other holding a cigarette.
“Gemma…she needs us to help someone.”
“Do we know this person?” Tig urged on. He was a glutton for gossip just like the mother’s at drop off and pick up.
“Nah, but she seems pretty important to Gemma.”
Tig took another drag, “huh, wonder why.”
Happy tucked the phone back in his pocket and stared out the window, the landscape blurring into shades of brown and green. Tig took a long drag of his cigarette and exhaled slowly, the smoke curling around his face like a ghostly veil.
"You think this is gonna be trouble?" Happy asked, breaking the silence.
Tig shrugged, eyes fixed on the road ahead. "When ain't it? But if Gemma's involved, you know it's important. We just gotta handle it."
Happy nodded. He knew the drill. They both did. Loyalty to the club and to each other was paramount. And if Gemma needed them to do something, they weren't about to question it. Especially as she asked them personally.
But before they could help with Gemma, they had to dispose of the body.
--
The address and information Gemma messaged confused Happy. He knew this town, and something didn’t make much sense.
“What's the matter?” Tig glanced over, noticing the tension in Happy's jaw.
“This is a fucken salon Tig.”
Tig barked out a laugh, “I mean it ain’t our job to question…and I ain’t questioning Gemma. But ugh, you think we gotta go in?”
Happy glanced at Tig, bemused. “Guess we’ll find out. But I’m not sittin’ around gettin’ my nails done, if that’s what you’re thinking.”
Tig chuckled, the sound deep and rough. “Ya know what. I might.”
Both men laughed, but Tig was just that unpredictable that Happy thought one day he might.
They pulled up to the salon, the white exterior blended with the rows of shops. It was a small strip of stores, becoming busier and busier as the day went on. The sunshine glared down on the men, and both slipped their sunglasses on.
Tig threw his cigarette to the ground and crushed it under his boot. “Ready?”

Thyme
Thymus vulgaris | Thymus serpyllum
Known as: Common thyme & garden thyme
Related plants: There are hundreds of species of thyme. Some members of the genus thymus are aromatic evergreen herbs in the mint family Lamiaceae (Like shown) that include basil, mint, rosemary, sage, savory, marjoram, oregano, hyssop lavender, catnip, bee balm, salvia, wild dagga, oriental motherwort & perilla
Parts used : Leaves
Habitat and cultivation: This shrub is native to southern Europe from the western Mediterranean to southern Italy. It thrives in medium-dry, sandy, loose & well drained soils.
Plant type: Perennial
Region: 2-10 with zones below 5 using both mulch and protections from frost damage.
Harvest: Anytime
Growing tips: This plant does the best in full sun in a well draining container. Like rosemary, it is very hard to grow from seed and therefore should look into cuttings or getting a starter plant from a nursery. I highly recommend lemon thyme.
Medicinal information: Thyme contains the compound thymol, which can help control or neutralize some bacterial, parasitic, fungal, or viral infections and have anti-inflammatory properties. been used to strengthen the lungs, purge the body of phlegm, as a remedy for shortness of breath, to kill worms. It was applied as an ointment to remove “hot swellings” and warts, and to ease pains in the spleen, the loins, and hips.
Cautions: Fresh and dried thyme is generally safe to eat or drink as a refreshing tea. But essential oils are different. They’re highly concentrated and can be toxic in their undiluted form. Ingesting too much thyme in essential oil could cause a risky drop in your blood pressure.
Magickal properties
