YEAR IN REVIEW:
Excluding comics and my own fiction, here are all of the books that I read in 2024, in the order that I started them.
Some were rereads.
At 12,435 pages, that Charles Dickens Kindle collection is by far the longest book I’ve ever read.
I’m not quite finished with Leviathan.

8/14/2023: This is my first workplace horror and I have thoughts. Review coming soon, but I'd like to say this now: This book felt like I worked there and those consultants were on something else. I was ready to quit and wondered why most characters didn't (lol).
8/19/2023: It’s been a couple days since I’ve finished this book and I’m still not sure what to say about it. I guess what I said before is all.

Book Review: Dominion by Bentley Little
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5 stars) Review: Bentley Little became one of my favorite authors quickly after reading both, “The Store,” and, “The Haunted,” and he has proven himself yet again with, “Dominion.” When I tell you this book is a wild freaking ride! I didn’t know what to expect from this book and honestly, not sure if you can expect what this book ends up being. I’m honestly not sure…

I was so distracted by the Bentley playing Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy as Crowley raced back to the bookshop this season that it didn't occur to me that we'd been in this position before.
Spat with Aziraphale?

Check.
Threatened by demons?

Check.
Rushing back to the Bookshop with the Bentley playing something overly romantic?

Check and check.
Friends, it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE that Crowley was having major flashbacks to the bookshop burning and Aziraphale being gone, which is why he was setting new records for the drive through central London. Maybe everyone else already thought about this but I didn't until right now and I am not ok.

yknow what it’s a fucking missed opportunity that Aziraphale didn’t drive the Bentley when he was body swapped with Crowley since he technically had a license
like cmon imagine Crowley’s face when Aziraphale pulled up to the park in the Bentley

Aziraphale had always been able to feel when a place was loved. As an angel, love was very much in his remit. Often it was just a sense of warmth in a local coffee shop, or the infusion of countless weddings into the stone walls of a church keeping damp at bay. Tadfield had been a special case, Adam’s love for the place multiplying the feeling to almost unfathomable levels, but every close-knit village across the country hummed with a similar, albeit it far subtler, joy.
It was therefore not particularly strange to settle into the Bentley, reading himself for the drive to Edinburgh, and feel a wave of love from the vehicle. Crowley had loved the car for ninety years. That kind of attachment couldn’t possibly not leave a mark. Usually when Aziraphale was in the Bentley, he was sitting beside Crowley, whose terrible emotion processing skills worked hard to suppress the feelings, but now Aziraphale was alone he could tell the car was so clearly cherished. He couldn’t help but smile, running his hands over the leather of the steering wheel to reassure the car that he’d take good care of it, because it clearly mattered to Crowley so deeply.
It was thirty miles out of London that Aziraphale started to become aware that there was something slightly different about the love infused into the Bentley. Usually it went one way, a place was loved but it couldn’t really love back. The car, however, seemed almost fond of him. It played classical musical when Aziraphale asked it nicely, the horn honked merrily rather than with the aggression Crowley usually forced from it on the rare occasions he thought it worth using at all. The travel sweets and the new yellow detailing, the comfortable and warm leather seats, the safe driving speed – Aziraphale could feel the Bentley desperate to please him.
It was only after Crowley checked in through the radio that Aziraphale realised what was going on. It seemed mad to even think it, but it was the only logical answer. Crowley’s love, not just for the Bentley but for Aziraphale specifically, was laced into the fabric of the car, so strongly it was echoing back. He would never have believed it, but the same feeling he got from the car was threaded under Crowley’s words. He might have complained about the yellow paint and the travel sweets, but really he was checking in to make sure Aziraphale was alright. After millennia of existing together, Aziraphale had learnt to read between the lines. So when Crowley asked him to drive faster, he knew that didn’t mean put yourself in danger to get my car back to me quicker, it meant get yourself back to me as fast as possible, because I feel better when I know you’re safe. Aziraphale knew better than to point it out, but he also wasn’t going to protest – he loved a good caper, but he knew he’d also feel better when he was back at the bookshop. Back with Crowley.

realized i never posted this one. the gamma4 partycrabs.
in the gamma4 universe, a group of baltimore highschoolers attempted to kill the olde one. the final blow of the battle did not kill her, and for the following decades, she lay dying in the bay. she was due to die during the short circuits, and an awful and awkward high school reunion of sorts took place to witness her death and steer her subsequent rebirth.
[ID: a grid of 20 squares, with each corner square containing a drawing of a crab with an eye in its center, with a smaller crab with a party hat in the eye's iris. the remaining 16 squares each show an uncolored digitally drawn portrait of one of the gamma 4 baltimore crabs team. name, stats, and position are shown above each portrait. End ID]

Eep! So I’ve been scrolling through Good Omens Pinterest Content lately and found a post talking about how during Shax’s conversation with Crowley in the Bentley in Season 2 episode 2, the plants behind him shake, representing his fear of the threat that had been made by Shax during the episode, given that it’s been speculated that the plants are a part of Crowley. So, I decided to watch that scene carefully to notice the detail and found that in the exact same scene, the Bentley’s engine starts up.
Tumblr media
Which seems to re-emphasize the fear Crowley has towards the threat made, despite trying his best to play it cool behind his glasses. Shax even notices this detail when she says “So you do understand I’m threatening you?” So yeah, I just thought it was really cool how the Bentley and the plants are both a part of Crowley and reveal the very raw emotions behind him despite his greatest attempts at putting up a brave front :D Hope y’all don’t mind the random little analysis I just placed on here :p
