Kai & Nya - Hedgehogs

Kai is probably the most similar to Sonic out of the main cast— and he was arguably the main character for the first five seasons— so it just makes sense to me that he'd be a hedgehog. Plus, his hair is is spiky like a hedgehog too! And Nya is a hedgehog too because, well...siblings. Duh.

Jay - Babylonian/Blue Jay

C'mon. I had to make him a blue jay. His name is literally Jay and he's blue!! Anyways, it also fits because lighting comes from the sky (likes where birds fly) and, as of Dragon's Rising, he's been an antagonist just like the Babylon Rogues were at first. Maybe that last one's a stretch, but who cares.

Cole - Echidna

Immense strength? Check. Association with nature and/or earth itself? Check. Complex family history? Check.

I rest my case.

Zane - Chameleon/Robot

I had to make at least one of the ninja a chameleon. And thanks to Zane's cloaking abilities, I think it fits him the best. I also considered making him a Gizoid specifically, but they're so closely tied to the Master Emerald and ancient Echidna society that I just don't think it would work. Maybe he's based off data from a Gizoid but he doesn't have quite the same power set, just like Gemerl.

Lloyd - Fox

Tails is best friends with Sonic, so I thought it'd make sense for Lloyd to be a fox so he matched with Kai and Nya. Foxes are also usually either tricksters or wise masters in stories, which fits both Lloyd's younger and older self. Plus, both Lloyd and Tails love MINTS!!!

I could see both Wu and Misako as foxes while Garmadon is part Darkling (aka the Black Arms, aka that evil alien species Black Doom is from). And then maybe the First Spinjitzu Master is a mutant Chao, like Chaos? Which I guess means Chao are dragons in this AU and the Black Arms are Oni, and I just think that's very funny.

Arin - Rabbit

Honestly I just think it'd be cute.

Sora - Cat

Wyldfyre - Sungazer

Sungazers are a type of lizard that were named that way because they stare at the sun when they bask. Lizards are reptiles, like dragons, and they like heat. Also, the little spikes all throughout Trip's design reminds me of Wyldfyre's general untamedness.

Slasher AU: Wave

So, Wave in this AU is a lil fucked up. She’s probably one of the most AWFUL people in this AU. She’s a dark web guru that takes heavily after Plague doctors in aesthetic. she’s made a name for herself on the dark web by making videos of fucked up experiments and torture and also selling spare body parts that come out of her victims. No idea what her name is as this ‘alter ego’.

At first, her intentions were out of desperation, poor Storm dealing with a demon problem, they needed to keep the demon satisfied, and unfortunately it needed flesh. They weren’t happy about it but Wave assured herself that it was necessary. So after getting Jet to do the dirty work. The demon had its fill and they were left with the mess. And Wave, not knowing what else to do, went deeper onto the web… and found a viable and very rewarding solution. And since, she’s been going deeper into that pit.

Even though Storm and his demon do eventually make an accord and they don’t need to do anything anymore… Wave continued, she saw only the money and horrifically, she became fascinated by her experiments, they got worse and worse.

The worst part about all of this is Jets involvement, at this point he’s only a teenager and he’s been roped into such a messed up life. He doesn’t know any better but Storm already sees the effect of this horror on his family, yet Wave only wants to continue, all for the sake of profit. She wants them to be well off. She’s tired of them struggling…and yet she’s still causing it, whether she’s aware or not. She loves them, so much… but goddamn she has gotten lost in this ‘business’…

For all that Bab5 is an optimistic show, it's also not shy about representing the failures of the kind of liberal international cooperation that it generally favours. In the season 1 episode 'Deathwalker', the great powers are unwilling to allow the prosecution of a genocidal war criminal scientist by the minor worlds she victimised. Well, why would they, they're all complicit to a greater or lesser extent in the atrocities committed, and they all want to be the ones to benefit from her scientific discoveries. The dissolution of Babylon 5's diplomatic project, and potentially the outbreak of hostilities, is only avoided by a compromise that makes everyone unhappy. A compromise that would put her in the custody of an increasingly xenophobic, paranoid Earth, in exchange for a fairly weak promise of future prosecution by the minor worlds. After Earth has extracted all scientific benefit.

Of course, because it is a show, Ambassador Kosh - from the mysterious and vastly more powerful, but largely non-interventionist Vorlon - steps in to confiscate the dangerous toys from the squabbling babies.

And because Babylon 5 is frequently not a subtle show, Commander Sinclair sums it up for the audience:

"[do you] think it'll always be like this, Michael? Little powers at the mercy of bigger powers. Politics before morality. Expediency before justice."

As far as I know, there's no implication that Mary was told about the dying part, and I don't know enough about Jewish culture and historical context to know if she would've known Isaiah's prophecies about the Son of God coming down as a man and dying on the cross to save the world from sin.
